Only 15 working today's including this Monday until time off for Christmas! Not that we're counting or anything...In the first hour, SKOR North's Phil Mackey weighs in on when the right time to put up your Christmas tree is and talks about the number one team in the NBA which just happens to be the Timberwolves, KSTP's Chris Egert talks about today being his 6-year "ampuversary" and informs about an uptick of local shootings over the weekend and an update in the stabbing of Derek Chauvin.Hour #2 has Bob Sansevere talk about how he "power watched" season 5 of Fargo and discusses the Gophers bid into the Quick Lane Bowl against Bowling Green. Actress Mariette Hartley joins the show to talk about her new work "Our (Almost Completely True) Love Story" which releases December 8th on Amazon Instant, Apple TV, Vimeo, Google Play, Vudu, and Hoopla. In hour #3 Kristyn Burtt discusses the morbid. Cults, mass shootings, true crime. After all, it is the Halloween season. Wait, no it isn't. Let's switch gears. How about some gift ideas? $15,000 handbag, anyone? Perhaps a diamond-encrusted watch? No? Okay then.On the Family, Costaki asks a philosophical question: if you make fun of the Patriots when no fans are around to hear it, does it really matter? The answer, of course, is yes. Making fun of other teams makes you feel better about your own team, which qualifies as therapy. And they say therapy is important. They also say TV is important, but given some of the shows out there these days, we're not so sure.Stream the show LIVE on the Tom Barnard Show app M-F from 8-12PM or get the show on-demand on Apple Podcasts, Spotify or wherever you get your podcasts! The countdown to Christmas officially begins today with the calendar flipping to December, and what better way to celebrate than with a jam packed show! In the first hour, KSTP's Chris Egert hears a story about a British man who was addicted to sleeping with dead bodies, and informs about an update in the Middle East along with more info on the local house explosion that happened yesterday. Plus the crew gets at each other's throats over fruit preferences. Hour #2 has Bob Sansevere who talks about the Timberwolves' successful run so far, the Gophers losing some notable players to the transfer portal, the Wild's turnaround under their new coach, and what the Vikings should do at QB after their bye week. Actor Bernie Kopell joins the show to talk about his new work "Our (Almost Completely True) Love Story" which releases December 8th on Amazon Instant, Apple TV, Vimeo, Google Play, Vudu, and Hoopla. Also, longtime friend of the show Brad Blanks stops by to talk about the time he shocked Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston with his size, and his run in with Julia Roberts' body guard. In hour #3 Tim Lammers and Kristyn Burtt are united by a common goal: get people back into theaters. Step one is to solve the cell phone issue. Of course, every solution costs money and relies largely on the honor system. And if these people had honor to begin with, they wouldn't be ruining your movie experience in the first place. What a paradox. On the Family, prepare to get serious. No, not because Josh Arnold is in and money is serious business. Today we also have Patty Wetterling, mother of Jacob Wetterling, in studio. She and Joy Baker have written a book, Dear Jacob, which you could describe as "heavy". Continuing the celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, the ladies partake in some magical realism with the classic Like Water For Chocolate by Laura Esquivel. Taking place during the Mexican revolution, the novel presents life and love in a small family at the very beginning of the 20th century. Spanning a generation, the novel (and subsequent film) depict gender differences, cultural expectations, and familial tradition with a forbidden love story running throughout. It has been decided that Pedro can “get it,” neither lady can pronounce foreign words (please don't hate us), and they may have used a few choice words to describe a certain character (seriously, yeet her into the sun). This episode is sponsored in part by Doobert.com, and KittySift. In this episode, Dr. Jennifer Conrad, who founded The Paw Project in 1999, joins Stacy to discuss the organization’s mission to end declawing in the U.S. & Canada, using education, research, and legislation. The Paw Project is made up completely of veterinarians and the group compiled the evidence, drafted the legislation, composed the language of the legislation, built the coalition of support, and obtained the representatives for every law prohibiting declawing in the U.S. Stacy and Dr. Conrad discuss the surprising way Dr. Conrad became interested in ending declawing and educating people everywhere on its devastating effects on cats. “Declawing is a misnomer,” Dr. Conrad tells Stacy. “It is really more appropriately called de-knuckling. It is the amputation of a toe bone.” They discuss the behavioral issues of biting and litter box avoidance that declawed cats have been shown to be prone to, and they talk about the organization’s new “Claw-Friendly” certification for veterinary practices that do not perform declaw surgeries. With legislation banning declawing passed recently in New York, and more bills in the works around the country, Dr. Conrad encourages listeners to join The Paw Project’s mailing list to stay in the loop on action needed regarding legislation in their area. She notes that, “There is a reason that we need to ban declawing: It actually saves cats’ lives … If we could get these bans all across the United States, we would be saving millions of cats’ lives.” To learn more, visit The Paw Project’s website.  You can also find them on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, or check out their documentary, The Paw Project on the App Store, Google Play, YouTube, and Amazon Instant.

Listen, I already know what you're going to say. This episode of Doctor Who is called 'Rise Of The Cybermen' not 'Cyberman'! And I'm here to tell you that Amazon Instant does NOT have your backs because they labeled it 'Cyberman' and that's what I'm calling it, no matter what the whole rest of the internet says. However I would 100% support you if you decided to write Amazon a strongly-worded letter about accuracy and Christmas Specials. In this episode, Barty Crouch Sr. is here to destroy humanity in favor of emotionless robots powered by human brains, and yet it's unclear why he wants to do this. He talks about his own fear of death, but he doesn't announce his own intention to "upgrade" and he somehow came up with this idea on his own despite these Cybermen bring in other episodes? I'm not really sure how this worked. However I'm always a fan of alternate realities in which there are versions of characters we know and love, so I actually enjoyed the episode despite its nonsensical plot because I'm always here for more Jackie and Pete being alive was also an unexpected pleasure. Pretty much just give me more than that and take the Cybermen out entirely, and we'd be good. Thanks for listening, and I will see you soon with the next episode of Twilight!

For the final show of the season Arden and another kung fu film! Though, Paul will argue that it’s not a kung fu movie, but a terribly long 80s music video. Either way, the guys are obviously having a fun time reviewing it. Oh, and there’s a single person in the chat room during the live show. It sounds sad to have only one person, but he’s one of the film’s stars! JOKE’S ON YOU, REST OF THE INTERNET. Interested in watching this piece of cinema? Choose your flavor below: Amazon Instant has it in glorious SD! Google Play iTunes Youtube On with the show: Once again, Arden brings us a movie to review. Previously, he brought us Revengeofthe.ninja. We learn that M.A.S.K., Mask and The Mask are all different films and television shows. Chris is fascinated with Berry Gordy’s Wikipedia page. The Last Dragon is ranked number 33 for the year in 1985 and look at the movies below it. Clue, Weird Science and more. There’s a Road House play? Get your fan site on because you need the glow. The villain is played by the late Julius Carry, who is simply amazing. Lots of recognizable faces in this film, William H. Macy, Rudy from the Cosby Show, Chazz Palminteri and this guy who is in every mobster film. Vanity’s 7th Heaven is…well, watch at your own risk. Not one, but two songs in this film were nominated for a Razzie. Arden compares Vanity’s dance in the 7th Heaven video to Prancercise. An actor from the film, Ernie Reyes Jr. shows up in the chat room during our live stream of this episode. Chris recounts the experience here. Chris is frustrated because he can’t find the Suki Yaki Hot Saki Sue song anywhere for purchase. Paul blows the minds of the others when he points out that Leroy’s master is just regurgitating fortune cookie wisdom throughout the entire film. Hey! He’s right. Ernie Reyes tells us from the chat room that his dad Ernie Reyes Sr. was one of the baddies in the club fight scene near the end. Who’s Leroy’s dentist? He does great work. As we wind the recap down, Ernie Reyes Jr. shares a great insight from being on the set during the final scene in the movie. Have a listen, we can’t spoil it here. We discuss 80’s music vs. boy bands and Arden dares Paul to watch Breakin and Breakin’ 2: Electric Boogaloo. We discuss other possible movies to watch and Ernie suggests a few from the chat room, like Surf Ninjas. Then hilariously he says, “Why is my whole career films that can be on your show?” Thanks to Arden for joining us on a very funny show. Check out the restaurant he and friends are creating on twitter. There’s a blog for Prairie Noodle Shop as well. Of course, we need to thank Ernie Reyes Jr. for popping into the chat room. State of an 80s Emo”-Playlist. The International Availability of Entertainment Services. In Spenderlaune?
