Promote Celtic culture through music at http://celticmusicpodcast.com/. WELCOME IRISH & CELTIC MUSIC MINI PODCAST I'm Marc Gunn, and I launched a Kickstarter for the Irish & Celtic Music Podcast on Thursday. I want this launch to be super successful. So I'm gonna give you a 6-Pack Mini episode to inspire you to make a pledge. The campaign only goes for two weeks. I'm gonna bring you an extra mini episode every 2-3 days plus, the main show which comes out every Thursday. I'll tell you more about what's on the album in a moment. You can find a link to all of the artists in the shownotes, along with show times, when you visit our website at celticmusicpodcast.com. Album Pins - CLOSING I hope you enjoyed the show. One of the main things I'm funding with this campaign is an Album Pin. Album pins are lapel pins. But each album pin is themed to a specific CD. So when you own the album pin, you'll also get the associated album, so you can wear your album on your sleeve. This year's design reminded me of my compilation, The Secret World of Celtic Rock, that I released at the start of 2005. So I decided to use that as an excuse to re-release the physical CD as well. So you're gonna get the album and the enamel pin if you choose that reward. There are lots of other rewards to check out. Follow my link at celticmusic.org/celticrock to make a pledge. THANK YOU PATRONS OF THE PODCAST! Because of Your kind and generous support, this show comes out at least four times a month. Your generosity funds the creation, promotion and production of the show. It allows us to attract new listeners and to help our community grow. As a patron, you get music-only episodes before regular listeners, vote in the Celtic Top 20, and you get a private feed to listen to the show. All that for as little as $1 per episode. HERE IS YOUR THREE STEP PLAN TO SUPPORT THE PODCAST Go to our Patreon page. Decide how much you want to pledge every week, $1, $5, $10. Make sure to cap how much you want to spend per month. Keep listening to the Irish & Celtic Music Podcast to celebrate Celtic culture through music. You can become a generous Patron of the Podcast on Patreon at SongHenge.com. #celticmusic #irishmusic #celticmusicpodcast

I wanted to write you for some reasons: I want to say hello :), to be thankful with you for your wonderful podcast and say I am proud of you! I hear you every day (I listen to your podcast when I go to work (I am a teacher and the school where I work is one 80 kilometres far). Believe me, I am a celtic music musician... here in the land of Flamenco music! Yes! there are many celtic musicians here as well. I am a whistler and a bodhran player and have a band called Keltya too, three boys and a girl between 15 and 35 years old). We are not the only band in this city. My band knows new musicians and songs thanks to you and your podcast, your podcast is an excellent resource, we enjoy it a lot and you are almost our muse (he he, this is a joke). We invite you to visit us perhaps in our Irish Fleadh in Cáceres every October and of course, to know Cordoba and its impressive celtic culture fans. Thanks a lot for your music (which I use with my pupils) and your podcast. We also wanted to encourage you to speak at some point about Spanish celtic music and Spanish independent bands such as Ambulancia Irlandesa, Carrion Folk or Rivendell.Just dig a bit and you will find many surprises in Spain as well. You played the St Patricks Day March with the Bookends and I turned around, went to Spotify and listened to the whole album, then went to iTunes and bought the album. You made $10 for the Bookends! My only request is to minimize the overlap between cuts in your podcast so folks can carve it up into pieces and just listen to the favorites over and over. When we like it WE BUY... Where is David Clausen of Celtic Stone in Austin. Find him and his hammer dulcimer." Finally, I missed a few congratulatory emails from the 500th episode in March. Robert Gabb of the Celtic Rock Band Brynmor emailed: "Congratulations Marc for reaching your 500th episode, keep up the good work, it's always a pleasure listening to the show. All the best" John, Trix, Karen, Jennifer, Felicia, Mike, and Daphne of The Homespun Ceilidh Band said: "thanks for spreading Celtic music farther and wider, and we look forward to the next five hundred episodes!" This week, I'm gonna highlight the favorite music of one of my patrons of the podcast. In the spring, I asked Patrons of the Podcast to share some of their favorite songs that were featured in the show. Stephen Bernhardt was one of two who listed a complete 20+ songs that he loved. So I decided to give his songs a special feature like I did with Annie Lorkowski back in episode #319. Some of Annie's songs were on his original list, so he was kind enough to revise it for me. Let's get started. * CELTIC PODCAST NEWS September 30th is your last chance to get 5 of my Cds for just $24 to save 68% off the sticker price. Follow the link to my Bandcamp page. Janilee and Chris are both post graduate students at the Manchester England college. Both are spinners and weavers, but have two different concepts for their doctorial thesis. I was able to interview each and had a wonderful time talking to them. Listen in, and learn about early weavers and spinners, and the modern day archeological study of them. Interlude music in today's podcast is from Music Alley and is by the group Celtic Stone. The title is Drowsy Maggie. Looking for a link to buy my Spinner's Journal? It's on Lulu here.
A Spinner's Journal, your own place to record all of the processes of the projects that turn fiber into yarn. I am a note taker, list maker by nature, and for all the years I've been spinning, those notes are on many different pieces of paper. I found I still like to refer back to them, and decided I needed a better system for taking my notes. And if I needed it, I bet other spinners do too. So I created the Spinner's Journal and it's now finally available for sale. I've given some details about the journal in this short promo podcast. Take a listen to see all the wonderful features of the journal. The journal is available here. Or if you want to go to my blog yarnspinners dot blogspot dot com, you'll find a link button on the right hand side of the page. Celtic Christmas music from Marc Gunn's Pub Songs Podcast featuring Celtic Stone, Eileen Ivers, Banshee in the Kitchen, Julia Lane, Angus Mohr, Brobdingnagian Bards, The Gothard Sisters. After last week’s show, I had to ask myself “What is Celtic Christmas music anyway?” It’s a fairly generic, marketing term, just like “Celtic music”.
