Read OnlineSome Sadducees, who say there is no resurrection, came to Jesus and put this question to him, saying, “Teacher, Moses wrote for us, ‘If someone's brother dies, leaving a wife but no child, his brother must take the wife and raise up descendants for his brother.' Now there were seven brothers…” Mark 12:18–20The Sadducees were a Jewish sect composed mainly of the Temple leaders, including many priests. They held theological and political views that differed significantly from those of the Pharisees. The Sadducees accepted only the Torah (the first five books of the Old Testament) as authoritative, whereas the Pharisees recognized the entire Hebrew Scriptures, including the Prophets, historical books, and Wisdom literature, and upheld a highly developed oral tradition based on centuries of rabbinic interpretation. This led to tension and theological disagreements. The Sadducees denied the resurrection of the dead, the immortality of the soul, and the existence of angels—all of which were central to Pharisaic belief—because they believed those truths were not found in the Torah. They believed that God's blessings were given for this life and that when one died, the soul perished with the body.Despite their theological disputes with the Pharisees, both groups found common ground in opposing Jesus. Today's Gospel illustrates the Sadducees' failed attempt to trap Jesus in a legalistic theological dilemma, using the law of Levirate marriage (cf. Deuteronomy 25:5–10) to challenge the doctrine of the resurrection. The Sadducees took their turn to trap Jesus not only to prove Jesus wrong but also to justify their beliefs before the Pharisees. They pose an extreme hypothetical scenario, in which seven brothers successively marry the same woman, each dying childless and ask: “At the resurrection when they arise, whose wife will she be? For all seven had been married to her” (Mark 12:23). Their intent is not to seek truth, but to mock the very idea of life after death.Jesus responds, not with complicated legal reasoning, but with divine wisdom that lifts their minds beyond earthly concerns. He begins by rebuking their limited understanding: “You do not know the Scriptures or the power of God” (Mark 12:24). Then, He offers a twofold response (cf. Mark 12:24–27).First, Jesus addresses the question of marriage after the resurrection: “When they rise from the dead, they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but they are like the angels in heaven.” After the resurrection of the dead, human existence will be radically transformed. Earthly institutions such as marriage—good and holy as they are—belong to this world, not the next. In the life to come, every soul will find its perfect fulfillment in the Beatific Vision. Second, Jesus refutes their denial of the resurrection of the dead using the Torah: “As for the dead being raised, have you not read in the Book of Moses, in the passage about the bush, how God told him, ‘I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob'? He is not God of the dead but of the living.”Though the Sadducees had built their entire theology on the Torah, they failed to recognize the implication of God's words to Moses. If God is “the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob,” then these patriarchs must still be alive in His presence. God did not say, “I was the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob,” but “I AM.” With this statement, Jesus shatters their disbelief and unveils the reality of eternal life. Perhaps even the Pharisees enjoyed His answer. Reflect today on the central truth Jesus revealed to the Sadducees: The soul is immortal, and those who die in God's grace will rise again to live eternally in His presence, in perfect communion with all the angels and saints. This truth must always be our focal point in life. Too often, we live as the Sadducees did—as if this life is an end in itself. By turning our eyes toward eternity, we not only better our lives here and now, but we also live in the hope of Heaven, knowing that all we do now must be for the sake of eternal treasure in the life to come.My eternal Lord, I believe in the promise of Heaven and the coming of the New Heavens and Earth, when all souls will rise and receive their eternal reward or judgment. As I journey through this life, keep my eyes fixed on eternity, and let my hope be firmly rooted in the resurrection to come. Welcome to Day 2873 of Wisdom-Trek. Thank you for joining me. This is Guthrie Chamberlain, Your Guide to Wisdom. Day 2873 – Wisdom Nuggets – Psalm 132:6-12 Daily Wisdom Wisdom-Trek Podcast Script - Day 2873 Welcome to Wisdom-Trek with Gramps! I am Guthrie Chamberlain, and we are on Day 2873 of our Trek. The Purpose of Wisdom-Trek is to create a legacy of wisdom, to seek out discernment and insights, and to boldly grow where few have chosen to grow before. The title for today's Wisdom-Trek is: The Song of Ascent – The Enthronement of the Ark on the Holy Mountain In our previous episode on this grand expedition, we stepped onto the thirteenth ridge of our fifteen-part pilgrim journey through the Songs of Ascents. We explored the opening section of Psalm One Hundred Thirty-Two, verses one through five. We witnessed the unyielding, sleepless passion of King David. Even though he had a quiet, weaned soul within himself, he refused to enjoy the private luxury of his cedar palace while the Ark of the Covenant remained neglected in a temporary tent. We examined his solemn vow to the Mighty One of Jacob, a vow of deliberate restlessness, where he refused to sleep until he found a permanent, sacred space—a cosmic embassy—where the True King of heaven and earth could establish His earthly footstool. Today, we take our next historic step forward, continuing directly from that narrative. We are entering into the second movement of this grand, processional anthem, exploring Psalm One Hundred Thirty-Two, verses six through twelve, in the New Living Translation. The psalmist shifts our focus from David's private, intense vow, to the corporate, joyful experience of the entire nation as they actually locate, recover, and march with the symbol of God's presence up the mountain. Let us step onto the rugged trail, join the ancient procession, and watch the Divine Warrior ascend His throne. The first segment is:The Discovery and the Procession to the Footstool Psalm One Hundred Thirty-Two: verses six and seven. We heard that the Ark was in Ephrathah; then we found it in the distant countryside of Jaar. Let us go to the sanctuary of the Lord; let us worship at the footstool of his throne. The narrative transitions from David's intense, singular obsession, to the collective voice of the Israelite community, singing together on the road to Jerusalem. “We heard that the Ark was in Ephrathah; then we found it in the distant countryside of Jaar.” To fully appreciate the deep, emotional relief embedded in these two names—Ephrathah and Jaar—we must recall the tragic, historical backstory. Decades earlier, during the chaotic days of Eli the priest, the Israelites had foolishly treated the Ark of the Covenant like a magical good-luck charm, dragging it onto the battlefield against the Philistines. The rebel spiritual forces operating behind the Philistine armies achieved a temporary, mocking victory; the Ark was captured, and the glory of God seemed to depart from Israel. Even after the Philistines returned the Ark due to divine plagues, it sat neglected, stashed away in the obscure, overgrown, and wooded fields of Kiriath-jearim—which the psalmist poetically calls the “distant countryside of Jaar.” It was hidden in the brush, largely forgotten by the general public, while the nation drifted spiritually. But David mobilized the nation. The pilgrims recount the great rally: “Let us go to the sanctuary of the Lord; let us worship at the footstool of his throne.” We must view this through the profound lens of the Ancient Israelite Divine Council worldview, as masterfully taught by Doctor Michael S. Heiser. In the ancient Near East, a supreme monarch sat on a high, elevated throne, and his feet rested upon a beautifully crafted footstool. The footstool was the critical point of contact where the heavenly, royal realm physically touched the lower, earthly domain. In cosmic geography, the Ark of the Covenant, positioned inside the Holy of Holies beneath the outstretched wings of the golden cherubim, was recognized as the literal footstool of Yahweh's heavenly throne room. When the pilgrims say, “let us worship at the footstool of his throne,” they are not merely engaging in formal temple rituals. They are entering the earthly embassy of the Supreme Commander of the cosmos. They are stepping into the direct presence of the High King, joining the heavenly assembly of loyal angels, and declaring that Yahweh's authority completely eclipses the claims of the rebel spiritual principalities who rule over the surrounding, disinherited nations. The second segment is: The Divine Warrior Takes His Seat Psalm One Hundred Thirty-Two: verses eight through ten. Arise, O Lord, and enter your resting place, along with the Ark, the symbol of your power. May your priests be clothed in godliness; may your loyal servants sing for joy. For the sake of your servant David, do not reject the king you have anointed. The procession reaches its absolute climax as the Ark is physically carried up the slopes of Mount Zion. The king and the priests raise a dramatic, liturgical shout to the heavens: “Arise, O Lord, and enter your resting place, along with the Ark, the symbol of your power.” This phrase, “Arise, O Lord,” is a direct, intentional echo of the ancient wilderness battle cry recorded in Numbers, chapter ten. Whenever the Ark of the Covenant set out from the camp to lead the tribes through the desert, Moses would stand and shout, “Arise, O Lord, and let your enemies be scattered!” It was the invocation of Yahweh Sabaoth—the Lord of Hosts, the Commander of the heavenly armies. But notice the fascinating, beautiful shift in Psalm One Hundred Thirty-Two. The Divine Warrior is no longer marching out to do battle in the wilderness; He is marching in to take His seat. He is entering His “resting place.” In the Deuteronomy Thirty-Two framework, the rebel gods claimed ownership over the nations, but Yahweh has chosen Zion as His permanent, centralized cosmic mountain. By placing the Ark—the symbol of His power—on Mount Zion, Yahweh is establishing an unshakeable, eternal fortress. The warfare is completed; the King is officially taking His seat on the throne. This supreme, cosmic installation requires an entirely transformed community to serve the King. Verse nine petitions: “May your priests be clothed in godliness; may your loyal servants sing for joy.” The priests, who act as the human mediators between the heavenly council and the earthly congregation, must not wear the corrupt, manipulative garments of the pagan fertility cults. They must be literally wrapped, clothed, and saturated in tsedeq—true, uncompromised godliness and righteousness. When the leadership is holy, the entire community flourishes. The "loyal servants"—the hasidim, the covenant-keeping exiles—break out into uninhibited, roaring songs of joy. Their worship becomes a defensive shield, keeping the chaos of the world outside the walls of the sanctuary. The processional prayer concludes with a crucial plea for the continuation of the dynasty: “For the sake of your servant David, do not reject the king you have anointed.” The human king, the Mashiach, the anointed one, serves a vital function in the Divine Council worldview. He is designated as Yahweh's earthly vice-regent. He is the human representative who executes the justice, and the cosmic order of the High King, within the physical realm. The pilgrims pray that God will look at the faithful, historical sacrifices of David, and refuse to reject the current, fragile human king who sits on David's throne. They need the line of the vice-regent to remain unbroken, so that the connection to the cosmic mountain remains secure. The third segment is: The Reciprocal Oath of Eternity Psalm One Hundred Thirty-Two: verses eleven and twelve. The Lord swore an oath to David with a promise he will never take back: “I will place one of your descendants on your throne. If your descendants obey the terms of my covenant and the laws that I teach them, then your royal line will continue forever and ever.” In the final section of today's trail, the direction of the song flips completely. The pilgrims have finished speaking to God, and now, Yahweh speaks back to the pilgrims. He responds to David's historic, restless vow with a massive, unyielding oath of His own. “The Lord swore an oath to David with a promise he will never take back: ‘I will place one of your descendants on your throne.'” This is the beautiful, reciprocal irony of the Davidic covenant. In the first five verses of this psalm, David...

Earlier this year, Bishop Robert Gruss shared a talk about purgatory at St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Saginaw. He invited those gathered to reflect deeply on God's mercy, holiness and eternal life promised through Jesus. "You never know the day nor the time," Bishop Gruss told those in attendance. "We always have to be prepared." The evening began with prayer as Bishop Gruss asked the Holy Spirit to open hearts and minds to receive what God wanted to reveal through the discussion. Understanding purgatory Throughout the presentation, Bishop Gruss emphasized that purgatory is often misunderstood. While many people think of purgatory as a physical place, he explained that the Church teaches it is better understood as a process of purification. "Purgatory is not a place," Bishop Gruss said. "It is a condition of existence." Quoting St. John Paul II and the Catechism of the Catholic Church, Bishop Gruss explained that purgatory comes from the Latin word purgare, meaning "to make clean" or "to purify." He pointed to paragraphs 1030 and 1031 of the Catechism, which describe purgatory as the purification of souls who die in God's grace and friendship but are still imperfectly purified before entering heaven. "Nothing unclean will enter the presence of God in heaven," Bishop Gruss said, referencing the Book of Revelation (Chapter 21, Verse 27). Because of this, every soul must be fully purified before experiencing what the Church calls the beatific vision — seeing God face-to-face in His glory. God's mercy and purification Bishop Gruss explained that after death, every person undergoes what the Church calls a particular judgment, where the soul immediately understands its eternal destiny. "There are only two choices," he said. "Heaven and hell." However, Bishop Gruss reminded those gathered that purgatory is not separate from salvation. Rather, it is part of God's mercy for souls destined for heaven. "If you're experiencing purgatory, you're in [going to Heaven]," he said. "There's no turning back the other way." The bishop emphasized that most people die in what he called an "imperfect state of grace," still carrying attachments to sin, selfishness or worldly desires. He encouraged frequent confession and honest examination of conscience, asking participants to reflect on the areas of their lives that still need healing and conversion. "People die with unforgiveness in their soul," he said. "People die with attachment to jealousy or envy or lust or hatred." Yet the message of the evening was ultimately one of hope. "The beautiful thing about purgatory," Bishop Gruss said, "is that it exists as a result of God's mercy and His love and His desire for you and for me to be with Him for all eternity." Created for love At several points during the talk, Bishop Gruss reminded listeners that the Christian life is deeply personal because every person was created intentionally by God. He encouraged those present to prepare their hearts for eternal life through prayer, repentance and trust in God's mercy. The evening concluded with a renewed invitation to holiness and deeper conversion, reminding the faithful that God's desire is always to bring His people into the fullness of His presence. "Purgatory is meant to purify us so that we can love as completely as God," Bishop Gruss said.

Are you feeling spiritually sluggish, "weighed down," or desensitized to the things of God? In Week 6 of our series, The Hygiene of My Heart, we diagnose a pathogen that our modern world often laughs off, but one that the Great Physician takes very seriously: Gluttony.Using the Greek concept of Hygies—meaning to be sound, healthy, and whole—Pastor Charlie Grimes explores how gluttony is far more than just a physical struggle with food. It is a spiritual "nutrient deficiency" where we use physical consumption—whether food, media, or shopping—to temporarily numb a hunger that only an eternal God can satisfy. In this message, you will discover:The False Satiety Trap: How nature shows us that it's possible to be "full" on the outside while literally starving on the inside.Eternity in the Heart: Why physical "shortcuts" can never fill a soul designed for infinite satisfaction (Ecclesiastes 3:11).The "Drowsiness" Diagnostic: Identifying the spiritual "brain fog" and "drowsiness" caused by over-consumption (Proverbs 23:21).The Information Diet: Practical ways to apply Philippians 4:8 to your daily digital and mental intake. The Cure:To fight this pathogen, we introduce Vitamin S (Self-Control)—the essential micronutrient that regulates our intake and keeps us from being mastered by our impulses. We conclude with the Sacrament of Communion, where we stop reaching for counterfeits and feast on the only true "Bread of Life" who satisfies the soul (John 6:35).Big Idea: Gluttony is a spiritual malnutrition that uses physical consumption to mask our true hunger for the Great Physician.Key Scriptures: Philippians 3:18–21; Proverbs 23:19–21; Ecclesiastes 3:11; John 6:35.#Faith #Sermon #CharlieGrimes #SpiritualHealth #HeartHygiene #Gluttony #SelfControl #Communion #ChristianLiving

Ecclesiastes 8:1-17 teaches that wisdom is not God giving us paint-by-numbers answers for every decision, but shaping us into people who can navigate life's complexities with godly judgment. Solomon shows that wisdom helps us deal with power, timing, authority, and the consequences of our choices. Rather than turning us into robots, biblical wisdom provides guardrails that help us make faithful decisions in situations where there is no simple chapter-and-verse answer. Solomon also confronts the realities of injustice, mystery, and tension. Wicked people often seem to prosper while good people suffer, yet wisdom calls us to fear God and trust that His justice will come in His perfect time. Life is filled with unanswered questions and unsatisfying answers, requiring us to walk by faith rather than sight. The wise person learns to hold both sorrow and joy together, lamenting the brokenness of the world while still enjoying God's gifts, knowing that faithfulness means trusting God even when life does not make sense.

William Desmond and John Vervaeke: Strong Transcendence, Plato, and the Between

Can transcendence still make philosophical sense after modernity? John Vervaeke speaks with philosopher William Desmond about Platonism as a living tradition, the meaning of strong transcendence, and Desmond's philosophy of the metaxu: the between. The conversation builds from John's proposal that relevance realization and transjectivity are philosophically grounded in Desmond's ontological account of the between. John begins by distinguishing modern psychological accounts of transcendence from the ancient and Platonic sense of strong transcendence. In this stronger sense, transcendence is not merely a better state of mind. It discloses truths that are otherwise unavailable and changes the knower's relation to reality. That claim challenges modern assumptions about flat ontology, the buffered self, representational cognition, and the fact-value split. Desmond responds through Plato. He presents Plato not as a dry theorist of two worlds, but as a philosophical artist of the between: a thinker of mimesis, eros, mania, dialogue, singularity, and participatory transformation. Plato's dialogues are not ornamental containers for arguments; their drama, characters, and dialogical movement are part of the philosophy itself. The later conversation opens into deep memory, imagination, eternity, possibility, God, Daoism, intercultural philosophy, pilgrimage, and the life-world. Desmond and Vervaeke converge on the need to move beyond the view from nowhere and return philosophy to transformative practice, embodied dwelling, and a richer contact with the sources of intelligibility. Key Insights Strong transcendence has epistemological and ontological significance, not only psychological benefit. The metaxu, or between, names a porous relation before, beneath, between, and beyond modern dichotomies. Modernity's fact-value split risks producing default atheism or default nihilism. Participatory knowing offers an alternative to treating cognition as internal representation of an external world. Plato's dialogical form is integral to his philosophy; the drama cannot simply be stripped away to extract arguments. Mimesis involves relation between image and original without collapsing their difference. Eros and mania point to two directions of transcendence: from below upward and from above downward. Deep memory is a source of imagination and ontological depth, not merely storage of past facts. Possibility should not be reduced to logical possibility; living possibility points toward enabling power. Pilgrimage and theoria are linked: philosophical transformation requires being on the way, not merely observing from nowhere. Good evening and welcome to Lionheart Church! Thank you for joining us for our Wednesday evening service for prayer and the Word. This installment, from the School of Eternity series, emphasizes that a believer's spiritual strength, growth, and success are built upon two foundational pillars: prayer and the Word of God. The Bible is presented as God's divine blueprint for life—not merely a book to be read, but a guide to be lived. True spiritual maturity comes from consistently applying God's instructions rather than simply hearing them.Be sure to share this message with family and friends!

This week, Leigh (@lshfoster) and Ellie (@elliebrigida) hang out and talk about why the 2025 Apple TV dramedy, Eternity, Should've Been Gay. Eternity asks the genuinely thought-provoking question, ‘what does happiness in the afterlife look like for you', and dares to answer it in the most heteronormative way possible. Leigh and Ellie ended up having vastly differing opinions this time around. Ellie loved the film so much, she watched it more than once, and cried every single time. Leigh was so enraged while watching it for the first and only time on a flight that she strongly considered throwing herself out of the plane while 30,000 feet up in the sky.  For those who are unfamiliar, Eternity centers around Elizabeth Olsen's character, Joan, as she decides between two possible “eternities” in the afterlife– one in the mountains with her first husband, Luke, who died young and waited 70 years for Joan to join him, or one at the beach with Larry, the husband with whom she spent the majority of her life and built a family. Unfortunately for Joan, neither Larry nor Luke seem all that concerned about where she would actually like to spend literal forever. They're set on mountain world and beach world, respectively, and will not budge on these decisions, even though a compromise would've fixed the entire problem. The one saving grace for Joan comes in her longtime best friend Karen, a late-in-life lesbian who plans to spend her afterlife lezzing it up in Paris.  The film presents so many potential paths for Joan to take (the mountains with Luke, the beach with Larry, Luke and Larry giving in to their obvious bisexual curiosities to form a throuple, running off to Paris with Karen, choosing an afterlife herself instead of being forced into someone else's version of a happily ever after…) and then walks her down the most aggressively heterosexual option in a way that truly feels like a hate crime. Honestly, regardless of how much anyone loves their partner, eternity is not 100 years or even 500 years, it's ETERNITY. There is no way everyone doesn't end up becoming swingers eventually anyway.  We know one thing for sure, Eternity Should've Been Gay. It's Question Time, and today's episode features an engaging question from one of our listeners based on Tim's argument that animals (including beloved pets) go to heaven. If that's true, says this listener, then how is God good if my child who I love MORE than my pet might be going to Hell? Josh and Tim tackle this philosophically, theologically, and pastorally. Want to ask a question? Go to our website: https://www.freethinkingministries.co... Check out Tim's Second Edition of Mere Molinism: https://us.amazon.com/Freedom-Divine-... Check out Josh's Novel: https://us.amazon.com/Fracture-Joshua... Tim's Article and Argument for pets going to heave: https://www.freethinkingministries.co... The full e-mail: I love my dog, but I love my child more. The following may reveal my own selfishness in that I don't want my child to choose what he desires (a life without Christ). Though I believe in freewill, I am almost to the point where I wish God did not grant it. I'd rather have my child "a robot" in Heaven with God and me than have him freely choose his eternal destination. I am concerned for a day when my son's sin takes him to the point of a totally seared conscience. Though my son is not a drug addict, a drug addict gets to the point of addiction when he knows not what he does in harming his own body, mind, etc. Isn't any sin this way? We know not what we do. We, as fallible creatures, don't know what's best for us. Only our Creator knows this, and yet He allows us to choose wrongly?!? Why?!? Why would God take an animal to heaven while allowing a mother or father who would die for their child (a human being made in God's image, unlike an animal, and "worth more than the birds of the air") to be separated from him for eternity? It is said that to have loved and then lost is better than to have never loved at all, but I'm not so sure right now. Pictures and memories of my son's "innocence" in childhood haunt me. Yet some say God wipes away such memories in Heaven, but don't you think we will know more, not less, in Eternity? To wipe that child from one's memory seems diminishing. Even to suggest annihilation (a theory I don't favor) would not soften the wounds of loss to a mother's heart. No longer existing seems to delegitimize any life. Even the truth of someday having a better understanding of God's holiness and justice regarding my own flesh and blood is gut wrenching (I agree we all deserve Hell). Why are we to lay down our lives for sinners now in reaching them for Christ but will eventually rejoice in jubilation when the time of their destruction comes? Why would God have fashioned such motherly sentiments to unconditionally love and sacrificially nurture if we were to suffer this pain of eternal separation? If God loves me and if God knew my child would not follow Him, why did He bring about a world allowing him to be created? Or to survive infancy? Theoretically, even abortion (God forbid!) would have been a better outcome as, if I'm correct in my theology, such would eventually reunite us. Is abortion a virtue in that all babes are saved from damnation? God forgive the thought! We are told to be fruitful and multiply, but why even risk having children if there's a possibility of having even one child…or grandchild or great grandchild or a great-great separated from you forever? Obedience beyond understanding? I don't want one from my family tree or one acquaintance or even one stranger to be lost! The only remedy I see to this scenario as we are to love even our enemies is universal reconciliation, also a theory I do not favor...because of free will! Can you help me with these excruciating dilemmas? For my sanity's sake I have to believe all my children will be with God in eternity, but since I don't believe universalism is biblical, what of those others who will be separated eternally from loved ones? Is the only answer to trust God? Thank you greatly for your time; I appreciate any help you may provide this hurting mama. ➡️ CHAPTERS ⬅️  00:00 Introduction 04:00 What Led to An Argument About Animals Going to Heaven? 05:35 The Reasonable Hope That Pets Go To Heaven Argument 11:00 Introducing Kim's E-mail - I Kind of Wish My Child Was a Robot 16:48 Why Would God Take an Animal and not my Son? 38:55 Will We Not Remember Pain In Heaven? 47:52 We Will Rejoice with Jubilation When People Go to Hell? 53:13 Why Would God Give Me A Child He KNOWS Will Reject Him? 1:04:00 Why Even Risk Having Children If They COULD Go to Hell? 1:10:30 Is Universalism the Only REAL Hope? 1:19:23 Concluding Thoughts ➡️ SOCIALS ⬅️ Website: https://freethinkingministries.com F acebook:   / freethinkinc   Instagram:   / freethinkinc   X: https://x.com/freethinkmin TikTok:   / freethinkinc   #Apologetics #FreeThinking #Christianity

This week, Pastor Chris continued in our sermon series Driven by Eternity with a message on authentic faith. In a world filled with pressure, opposition, and imitation, God calls believers to live with authentic faith that is real, rooted, and enduring. Through Paul's words in 1 Thessalonians, this sermon reveals that authentic faith is grounded in God's Word, tested through hardship and persecution, and strengthened to overcome every spiritual obstacle through the power of Christ. When believers truly receive and live out God's truth, they are transformed from the inside out, becoming people of perseverance, joy, and lasting impact in a hostile world.

God has always had a plan to redeem humanity, and you can read all about it in the Bible! The Word of God is a beautiful and continuous story that begins in the Garden of Eden and culminates with the prophetic return of Christ. This singular storyline is often misunderstood when the Bible is broken up into tiny, separate stories. This confusion is a mess that Marian Jordan Ellis has sought to clarify and make easier for the believer to understand. In her devotional, Garden to Garden: Through the Bible from Eden to Eternal Paradise, she beautifully takes readers on a 30-day journey that explains how each piece of the Bible fits together to form a beautiful portrait of God's redemption story. Marian was inspired to write this devotional after seeing so many new Christians struggle with the enormity and perceived complexity of studying the Bible. TAKEAWAYS Those who weren't raised in the church may feel overwhelmed with the many stories in the Bible and therefore not read it The Old Testament is full of promises and the New Testament fulfills those promises and also looks toward the future return of Christ Garden to Garden: Through the Bible from Eden to Eternal Paradise is a great tool for introducing someone to the Bible's continuous story Even those who grew up in the church may misunderstand the Bible as a collection of totally separate, disjointed stories

Why do purgatory and hell exist? The Catechism teaches us today about the existence and the meaning of purgatory and hell. We learn that purgatory is a transitional state of purification while hell is the state of permanent separation from God. Fr. Mike reminds us that nobody drifts into heaven because “we cannot be united to God unless we freely choose to love him.” Today's readings are Catechism paragraphs 1030-1037. On this episode of Countdown 2 Eternity, Pastors James and Andy discuss what will in essence become the inevitable judgment of the United States of America. Our Founding Fathers established this nation upon biblical principles, yet we have steadily turned away from those foundations and embraced ideologies that directly oppose the truth of God's Word. As America continues to reject its Judeo Christian heritage, the prophetic implications become impossible to ignore. James and Andy examine how the spiritual decline of our nation connects directly to Bible prophecy, the rise of globalism, attacks on religious freedom, and the conditions that will ultimately pave the way for the last days system described in Revelation. This is a sobering and critically important conversation that every Christian needs to hear. To support this ministry financially, visit: https://www.oneplace.com/donate/1479/29?v=20251111
