On this episode of .think Atlantic, IRI's Thibault Muzergues is joined by former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bulgaria, Daniel Mitov, to talk about Bulgaria as the country is about to head to the polls on Sunday, April 4th for legislative elections. Last summer, Bulgaria was rocked by major protests about the country’s rule of law issues, which include corruption, the unchecked powers of the Prosecutor General, and judicial independence. Has the situation evolved since then? If the winner of the elections is GERB, where does GERB go to form a majority needed to form a government? What issues Bulgaria faces and which should be prioritized for the incoming government? What should be done to move forward on the integration of Western Balkans in the Euro-Atlantic structures? How will Bulgaria’s foreign policy evolve in what is a key region for Europe’s geopolitical stability? Thibault Muzergues and his guest debate all these questions - and many more. Daniel Mitov served as Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bulgaria from 2014 to 2017. He has been involved since the early 2000s in Bulgaria’s democratization process. He worked as executive director of the Democracy Foundation in Bulgaria for four years and was also active in Bulgarian and European politics for many years. Daniel is now a candidate for the legislative elections. This week on the show, we are getting a little silly and bringing a bit of humor to the conversation! This is much needed for me, as sometimes it almost feels like I have forgotten how to have fun! So my deep hope is that you will be able to laugh along with me and our guest for this week, Dr. Daniel Domoloczny. Daniel is an acupuncturist, a Chinese Medicine practitioner, a breathwork and meditation coach, and a teacher of Shamanism. In our talk, Daniel takes us on his personal journey of the discovery of the practices that have led to his own awakening and transformation. He shares the wisdom he has learned by continuing to show up as a teacher and student, and what the long-term outcomes of devotion and acceptance can be. And, he brings it all together by noting the intersections of life as the transitional gateways to who we become. As always, the hope for these guest episodes is that you feel like you are sitting in the room with us, engaging in our conversation and feeling stimulated by what is being shared. Daniel is a Stoic Philsopher and hosts a weekly 'Metagame Mastermind' at The Stoa. In this episode we talk about parenting, how our own upbringings were good, but flawed. We talk about creating a series of milestones in a child's life, with corresponding ceremonies that attempt to endow the child with the necessary knowledge, wisdom, guidance and love that will enable them to transition into the next level of personhood as they grow. We talk about how these ceremonies might look like parties and furthermore, how we party on my birthday and why. It's a rad look at how we can make more meaningful connections and growth through our parties with our friends. We also talk about Emotional Metabolism! How we process our human experiences and how important they are! Daniel hosts the "Metagame Mastermind" at The Stoa. He's a deep philosophical thinker, an authentic relater and one of the best listeners that I've ever encountered. This episode is our first time ever talking, which is crazy considering how far we get. It is vulnerable and ernest; two traits that we agree need to be promoted in this time of transition. We talk about my own experience around feminism and gender relations, what I see/hear and what I think is missing or out of place. We talk about reinventing a new type of gender relations and what that might look and sound like. We talk about the importance of friendship, of brotherhood, of sisterhood, where they've gone and why. This is an awesome episode and I really appreciate daniel for his time and his presence. Welcome to the What's Next! podcast with Tiffani Bova. My guest this week is Daniel Marcos. Daniel is a Co-Founder and the CEO of Gazelles Growth Institute, an online executive education company for C-level executives at fast-growing firms. Daniel is also the Co-Founder of Inflection (Gazelles Mexico division), a keynote speaker and CEO-Coach. Across all these efforts, his goal is to help 1 million entrepreneurs scale their companies faster and with “less drama.” Daniel is also an ambassador for Singularity University in Austin, TX and he co-authored the book Start-Up to Scale-Up. I am thrilled to be speaking with Daniel Marcos on the What’s Next! Podcast! THIS EPISODE IS PERFECT FOR… entrepreneurs interested in starting a company and small and mid-size businesses looking to grow and scale successfully. TODAY’S MAIN MESSAGE… Growth is not easy. It does not come without sacrifice. So, most important when it comes to growth, is reaching the decision to grow, and reaching it after careful consideration. More companies have died from excessive opportunities than the lack thereof, so it behooves leaders and organizations to set their objectives thoughtfully, be disciplined, and scale their mindset adequately. Daniel breaks down the 4 main stages of growth, and the biggest challenges to be found in each. WHAT I LOVE MOST… speaking with anyone who is maniacally focused on growth and can get us thinking critically and intentionally about growth, scaling, and continued success.
