#AEW #AEWDynamite #FyterFest AEW Fyter Fest 2022 will continue in week 2 with another special episode of Dynamite on July 20, 2022. Once again a packed match card is announced for the show. The main event match will be Barbed Wire Deathmatch which will continue the long-standing rivalry between Eddie Kingston and Chris Jericho. This will be their second singles match of this year. Eddie defeated Jericho in their previous encounter at AEW Revolution 2022 PPV. That loss kicked off Jericho's new heel turn and Jericho Appreciation Society. Anarchy in the Arena and Blood & Guts matches have taken place between their teams in the last two months. As Eddie is still not able to taste Jericho's blood, he has proposed a barbed wire match. Also, during the match, the other members of Jericho Appreciation Society will be hanging above the ring in a shark cage. Jericho has also promised that he will bring back his painmaker persona, who has been undefeated so far. Darby Allin and Sting have started a feud with House of Black, which will see Darby taking on Brody King on Fyter Fest week 2. Additionally, Best Friends Trent Baretta and Chuck Taylor will take on Blackpool Combat Club's Jon Moxley and Wheeler Yuta. After two weeks of insulting Griff Garrison and Brian Pillman's fathers, Christian Cage will face them in the ring in a tag team match. After being promoted to Detective in the Violent Crimes Division Griff was quickly promoted to the Homicide Division as the lead Homicide Detective. Griff trained under the original members of the FBI's Behavioral Analysis unit. While at RCSO Griff was also a member of the SWAT team as a hostage negotiator. After working many years in Homicide Griff took an early retirement after being offered to star on CBS' show Hunted. Since leaving law enforcement Griff has worked as a consultant on many cases throughout the country. Griff most recently stared alongside Carole and Howard Baskin as their investigator on Carole Baskins Cage Fight. An iconic figure in pro wrestling during the 1980's has died. “Mr. Wonderful” Paul Orndorff was a powerful and athletic force during his prime. He racked up a number of championship reigns across multiple territories...prior to his arrival in the World Wrestling Federation in 1983. He was part of the main event at WrestleMania I...and became a key rival during Hulk Hogan's first reign as WWF Champion. Injuries shortened Orndorff's career. He did wrestle a bit for WCW during the 90's...and later worked backstage. Orndorff's family announced his passing on Monday. Paul Orndorff was 71. (STINGER: WWE) The NXT Championship is on the line tonight. Karrion Kross will defend against Johnny Gargano. Samoa Joe will be the special guest referee. Also tonight, the first match in the NXT Breakout Tournament: Ikeman Jiro vs. Duke Hudson. Also, Sarray vs. Gigi Dolin. A big upset on last night's Raw. Xavier Woods surprised WWE Champion Bobby Lashley with a small package to get the pin in a non-title match. Raw Women's Champ Rhea Ripley won a non-title match over Natalya, finishing her off with the Riptide. Charlotte Flair attacked Ripley's knee after the match. Sheamus pinned Humberto Carrillo with the Brogue Kick to retain the United States Championship. Ricochet beat John Morrison in a Falls Count Anywhere match. Ricochet finished him off with a splash from the top rope through Morrison AND the ladder bridge he was laying on. Ivar pinned one half of the Raw Tag Champs, AJ Styles. The other half of the Viking Raiders wasn't as fortunate. Erik was pinned by Omos in what was the first singles match for Omos on the main roster. Nikki Cross - or Nikki ASH - won a 4-Way over Asuka, Naomi and Alexa Bliss. Eva Maria and...Doudrop were ringside for this. Alexa got in Eva Marie's face at one point. Doudrop sent Alexa over the barricade...and then we found that Alexa had disappeared. Anyway, Nikki got the pin after a rollup on Asuka. Jinder Mahal THOUGHT he had stolen Drew McIntyre's family sword last week. But it turns out, he just had the “rental”. McIntyre took out his revenge on Mahal's motorcycle. It was announced that the Viking Raiders will challenge AJ Styles & Omos for the Raw Tag Team Titles AT Money In The Bank. That match had been announced for next Monday's Raw. Natalya has been added to the women's Money In The Bank ladder match. There's only one open spot left to be announced. (STINGER: AEW) This may sound like a formality, but AEW officially announced the signings of the Varsity Blonds: Brian Pillman Jr. and Griff Garrison on Monday. On last night's AEW Dark: Elevation… The Blonds and Billy & Colten Gunn beat The Acclaimed and Chaos Project. Brain Pillman Jr. pinned Luther with his top rope clothesline. After the match, The Acclaimed made it clear they want a showdown against the Blonds. (STINGER: WWE) The Diamond Mine opened on last night's NXT - a new faction led by the returning Roderick Strong...managed by Malcolm Bivens...and also including Tyler Rust...and Hideki Suzuki. WWE announced Suzuki's signing last April. At the time, WWE said he would be joining the coaching staff at the Performance Center. Suzuki is a 41-year-old veteran of Japan's pro wrestling scene. The Diamond Mine was revealed after last night's main event on NXT, where Kyle O'Reilly used a rollup to pin Kushida. O'Reilly was quickly drawn away from ringside after a skirmish with Adam Cole. That left Kushida alone...to be attacked by The Diamond Mine. Cole opened the show by pinning Carmelo Hayes with the Panama Sunrise.
