Hey, Clemson Family -- Brad Brownell's men's basketball team will take the court for the NCAA Tournament at 3:15 p.m. Thursday as a No. 5 seed in the Midwest Regional facing No. 12 seed McNeese St. That means a matchup against a former member of the program in Will Wade, who's been rumored to return to the ACC and interview for a head-coach opening. Clemson's oming off a disappointing performance in the ACC tourney with a pyrrhic victory over SMU in which starter Dillon Hunter was lost to a hand injury. Victor Lakhin, Ian Schieffelin, and Chase Hunter led the charge to survive that game and play Louisville closely, but the semifinals loss hurt the Tigers' seeding. We'll look at what needs to happen to advance in the NCAA Tournament and get a shot at another Sweet 16 or Elite Eight run. We're glad you found us -- be sure to watch on YouTube so you can share your reactions in the comments, and find us on social media @ClemsonKickoff!

In this episode of Majority Rules, the gang (minus Rory) has a lot of updates after attending a super-sized presser w/ MBB, S&D, GYM, WR and VB on Wednesday. Abigail, the birthday girl (unbeknownst to them), kicks things into high gear with some XC updates for the Midwest Regional preview she's been working on before Matthew gets into VB talk about the 9-game win streak, Friday's super important and highly touted matchup against ranked Florida, RPI vs. AVCA polling, player impacts, and some surprising updates from the presser. In a quick pivot to out-of-season sports, Karen gives some inside gymnastics info about Saturday's intrasquad (10am at TPC) and encourages fans to come get their first look at Helen Hu's return (and read her feature story) and Matthew provides the speediest baseball schedule release update ever. Bill Duffy was from a particular generation of Tower Store Managers; started in the mid 80's to early 90's, spent 15-20 years with the company and was still looked upon as a “newbie”. But Bill broke that mold big time to both the joy and concern of the seasoned and hardened Tower Managers and Regionals. Bill was a General Manager for only 6 years before being promoted into a Regional Manager capacity; light speed in Tower's culture. And two years later to be promoted to Vice President of North American Operations? What did this guy have, to move at warp speed through the Tower Records ecosystem? Bill will tell us how he remembers it all. From his time working for a South New Jersey indie record chain to Assistant Manager under Eric Wood at Cherry Hill NJ. After a couple years running his first store in Nanuet NY, Bill came back to the Philadelphia area running the iconic store on South Street in Philadelphia. From there Bill was based out of Texas, a move he initially resisted. His final four years with the company, as VP of North American Ops were the final four years of the company. Through it all, despite circumstances seemingly limiting the opportunity for innovation, Bill brought a sense of possible renewal to the way Tower Records ran its stores until the clock finally ran out. Join us on the first episode of our 2nd year as we discuss the impact Tower had on the management style and continuing evolution of Bill Duffy.

For me, Derek is the coach of a lifetime, and I'm lucky to be on round three with him and he has demanded excellence every single day we've spent together since we met. Whether it was on the field, eating with the team afterward, or Now, as I begin this new journey. Derek has always been able to bring out the best in me or get me to bring out the best in me; whether it was on the field, eating with the team afterward, or Now, as I begin this new journey. He's a combination of an older brother, coach, and mentor gift wrapped into one human and he continues to teach me in soccer and in life while never forgetting the importance of humor and sharing some laughs. In this episode, Derek and I discuss what he's learned while coaching and building relationships, how and why we can be more empathic as males, what being a Father & a Husband means to him, how a tragic moment helped him find himself, and so much more. On Derek: Derek Marie returned to his alma mater, Carroll University, in 2013 as an assistant men's soccer coach, before being named the head coach prior to the 2018 season. He was a standout performer for the Pioneers, earning all-Midwest Conference honors in each of his four seasons at Carroll, making him one of just three players in team history to achieve the feat. Marie also garnered state and regional recognition during his career, with first-team all-Wisconsin and second-team All-Central Region accolades following his junior campaign. He played a vital role in Carroll's first-ever Midwest Conference title in 2007 and the team's first Midwest Conference Championship in 2008. The 2008 team also won the program's first-ever NCAA Tournament game. Marie was a student assistant coach for the Pioneers in 2009, then went on to serve as an assistant coach for the UW-Stevens Point women's soccer team the following year. The UW-SP squad advanced to the Sweet 16 round of the NCAA Tournament. Marie was previously involved with the Croatian Eagles Soccer Club, where he was the head coach of the club's U-18 Midwest Regional team for the spring 2014 season. As a prep at Stevens Point Area High School, Marie earned first-team all-conference and was an all-State selection while finishing his senior campaign as his league's leading scorer. Marie graduated from Carroll with a degree in Business Marketing. He earned his master's degree in Coaching and Athletic Administration from Concordia University in Irvine, California in 2015. We’re baaaaaack!!! After what feels like AGES, we are psyched to bring you episode 13 of Happily NEVER After! As promised, our latest recap is the North Carolina Hallmark fave, Love On Ice. Why a state that barely sees snow has hitched its wagon to a movie about figure skating in sub zero Michigan is beyond us. But here we go. Emily James is a former championship figure skater played by General Hospital alum Julie Berman (remember Luke and Laura’s daughter Lulu?) and Andrew Walker, aka Mr. @oneanddoneregan, plays figure skating coach Spencer Patterson. After a happenstance meeting in the local café, Spencer’s obsession with Emily – and his quest to find out her reasons for hanging up her skates eight years ago - really takes off. Together they overcome an aggressive skating mom, a salty ex-coach and the ghost of parent past to a Midwest Regional figure skating comeback that finishes up a bit more “symbol” than we imagined it would. Overall message: a bit of low-key stalking absolutely can turn into a consensual courtship on the ice. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app
