Hizo luego una petición que ningún ser humano hizo antes: "Te ruego que me muestres tu gloria". Éxodo 33:18. ¡Qué petición de parte de un ser mortal finito! Pero, ¿es rechazado'? ¿Lo reprende Dios por su pretensión? No; oímos las misericordiosas palabras: "Yo haré pasar todo mi bien delante de tu rostro". Éxodo 33:19. Ningún hombre podía ver la gloria revelada de Dios y sobrevivir; pero a Moisés se le asegura que él contemplará tanto de la gloria divina como puede soportar su estado mortal actual. Esa Mano que hizo el mundo, que sostiene las montañas en sus lugares toma a este hombre del polvo, este hombre de poderosa fe; y, misericordiosa, lo oculta en la hendidura de la peña, mientras la gloria de Dios y toda su benignidad pasan delante de él. ¿Podemos asombrarnos de que "la magnífica gloria" (2 Pedro 1:17) resplandeciera en el rostro de Moisés con tanto brillo que la gente no lo pudiera mirar? La marca de Dios estaba sobre él, haciéndolo aparecer como uno de los resplandecientes ángeles del trono. Este incidente, y sobre todo la seguridad de que Dios oiría su oración, y de que la presencia divina le acompañaría, eran de más valor para Moisés como caudillo, que el saber de Egipto, o todo lo que alcanzara en la ciencia militar. Ningún poder, habilidad o saber terrenales pueden reemplazar la inmediata presencia de Dios. En la historia de Moisés podemos ver cuán íntima comunión con Dios puede gozar el hombre. Para el transgresor es algo terrible caer en las manos del Dios viviente. Pero Moisés no tenía miedo de estar a solas con el Autor de aquella ley que había sido pronunciada con tan pavorosa sublimidad desde el monte Sinaí; porque su alma estaba en armonía con la voluntad de su Hacedor. Orar es el acto de abrir el corazón a Dios como a un amigo. El ojo de la fe discernirá a Dios muy cerca, y el suplicante puede obtener preciosa evidencia del amor y del cuidado que Dios manifiesta por él (Testimonios para la iglesia, t. 4, pp. 524, 525).Dad a conocer a Dios vuestras dificultades. Decidle como Moisés: "No puedo conducir a este pueblo a menos que tu presencia vaya conmigo". Luego pedid aún más; orad con Moisés: "Ruégote que me muestres tu gloria". Éxodo 33:18. ¿Qué es esta gloria? El carácter de Dios. Así lo proclamó el Señor a Moisés. Que el alma se aferre con fe viva a Dios. Cante la lengua sus alabanzas. Cuando os halléis reunidos dedicad vuestra mente con reverencia a la contemplación de las realidades eternas. Así os ayudaréis unos a otros a ser espirituales. Cuando vuestra voluntad esté en armonía con la divina, estaréis en armonía unos con otros; tendréis a Cristo a vuestro lado como consejero. Enoc anduvo con Dios. Así puede andar todo aquel que trabaja por Cristo. Podéis decir con el Salmista: "A Jehová he puesto siempre delante de mí: porque está a mi diestra no seré conmovido". Salmo 16:8. Mientras sintáis que no tenéis suficiencia propia, vuestra suficiencia estará en Jesús (Obreros evangélicos, pp. 431, 432).

Le président argentin Javier Milei voulait supprimer les aides d'urgence accordées aux personnes handicapées. Les députés en août, suivis des sénateurs ce jeudi, ont dit non. C'est la première fois que le Sénat argentin annule un véto présidentiel de Javier Milei.  Le Congrès a également voté pour augmenter les allocations. Devant le Sénat argentin, après l'angoisse, les cris de joie et les larmes de soulagement de personnes handicapées à l'annonce de l'annulation du véto présidentiel. Le quotidien de gauche Pagina 12 parle d'une « gifle historique à la cruauté et à l'injustice ». Il revient sur le combat de celles et ceux qui se sont battus contre la suppression des aides, notamment les mères d'enfants handicapés. Pagina 12 publie le témoignage de l'actrice Lola Berthet dont l'enfant est neurodivergent. Et pour elle, la politique de coupes budgétaires du gouvernement de Javier Milei, « c'est la déshumanisation des personnes porteuses de handicap ». Le quotidien Clarín rappelle que cela fait plus de 20 ans que le Congrès n'avait pas voté contre un véto présidentiel. Un vote qui, pour le journal La Nación, met en évidence la fragilité parlementaire du parti au pouvoir. Une fragilité du camp Milei qui s'ajoute aux soupçons de corruption qui visent les proches du président. Sa sœur, secrétaire générale de la présidence, est soupçonnée d'être impliquée dans une affaire de détournement de fonds sur la vente de médicaments destinés aux personnes handicapées.
