Hi all, excuse the LONG pause - we've been heads down at Stasher.com and super busy. We did manage to get this episode together and decided that as Ant is appearing on a quiz show and this has likely brought some new people (hi, if that's you!), it'd be great to let people know that the next season is on it's way if very delayed. In this multi-parter, we discuss happinness and the dissonance of the human condition. The person who lives a meaningful but trying life is in some way happy (certainly they're admired and envied), but so to is the man who lives in his pleasant cottage and learns to appreciate the simple things...how can these 2 very distinct lives be called the same thing? This is what we explore in this series, what are the constituent parts of happiness and why is this term so fragmented anyway. We'll start from a biological and pyschological perspective (this episode) all the way up to a philosophical view in assessing how we should think about happiness and how we may incorporate these perspectives within our lives. We'll be back with more content soon! Support the show: Subscribe to ant's newsletter here. He posts about similar stuff to what we talk about + tech and startups and politics. Please leave us a review! Know anyone who likes to think about or debate the kind of topics we cover? Spread the word - and you'll have our gratitude. Here's the link to our new community whatsapp, where we'll discuss episodes and ask our most engaged listeners what sort of topics/formats they most enjoy. 2023 got out of here like she stole something! Sheesh.I traveled down a rabbit hole of internet “research,” trying to understand why we all seem to feel like time is moving faster than ever before. Of course, everybody and their momma has a theory—from the end-of-the-days to collective post-pandemic PTSD. There are scientific studies that say it's linked to our diminishing ability to process visual information with age, conventional wisdom that says it's because we have fewer "new" and novel experiences to take in, and then there's this idea that our daily routines have us operating almost on “auto-pilot” in our day-to-day lives. Each theory lands on the idea that our lack of attention makes it feel like that days are slipping into years almost unnoticed. While I'm not sure if any of these theories are exactly it, I do agree that time tends to move faster when we don't slow down. And I'm learning to take the feeling of time slipping by as a welcomed reminder to pause, pay attention, and be more present. One way I'm embracing this present mindset is through my reflective writing practice. The Be Still & Know 21-day challenge provided a good, grounding start to the new year. It allowed us to reflect on stillness, immerse ourselves in God's Word, and also to connect with others in this community. The additional gift for me, though, was the opportunity to write consistently. I like it, and I want to do more of it. So, you can expect to receive more messages from me here and fewer on social. I'm also taking a break from podcasting for a season, so I plan to incorporate some of our podcast staples like “love it or leave it” and “a word with Maaden” into this format in the meantime. I shared at the top of the year that my word for 2024 is “lighter,” and that's just how this feels—lighter. It also feels very much in line with the more/less list that I created for the year ahead. So here's to more quiet time, creating, connecting, and reading + writing and less of the rest."Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins." - 1 Peter 4:8 (NIV)I talk a lot about love here, so it's no surprise that my reflection as we open up February—a month adorned with hearts, flowers, and sweet nothings—is on the power of love. Not love as this romanticized, fleeting emotion but love as, arguably, the most profound of all human experiences. The words in 1 Peter say that, "love covers over a multitude of sins." A reminder that true love has the power to heal through forgiveness. And not just forgiveness for one thing but that this type of authentic love, extends grace that covers the broad range of our faults and human imperfections. The word multitude—translated from the original Greek "πλῆθος" (plēthos)—emphasizes the comprehensive and forgiving nature of love in dealing with the plethora or abundance of flaws that we each have. The verse invites us to practice a love that forgives, recognizing the inherent humanity in ourselves and others. It calls us to extend compassion, understanding, and grace. Consider the various relationships in your life—first, your relationship with yourself but also the bonds with family, friends, and colleagues. How can you love better? How might love, as described in 1 Peter, show up in these relationships? Can you, even in relationships that are thick with tension or thin with distance, choose love as your guiding principle? Can you allow it to cover misgivings and open you up to connection? This month, let's practice true love, not just the fluffy idea love, but the deep love that requires forgiveness, vulnerability, and grace.I bought my first home at age 25. It was a third-story condo with a loft, super high ceilings, and spacious bedrooms with walk-in closets. I was living, y'all! Sure, I had to climb up those hot steps every day to my front door (there was no elevator); and yes, I had a curmudgeon of an old man as a neighbor (God rest his soul) who complained to me about everything I did every time he saw me; and no, it didn't turn out to be the investment of my American dreams either because I bought in 2008 (and y'all already know how that story ended)... buuut the place was my first home, my first adult accomplishment, and I loved it.One of the things that I loved the most about it was the proximity to a grocery store that I'd never visited before then, Trader Joe's. It was love at first check-out and I was in there so often that my friends would joke that Trader Joe was my boyfriend. It was the perfect place to try new finds, pick up the makings for quick and easy meals for one, and get affordable flowers for my new place each week! Well, guess what, y'all? TJ and I are reunited. There is not one, but two Trader Joe's within a mile from our daughter's school, so weekly visits with my boo Joe are back on! So for this week's “What I'm Loving,” I am sharing some of my faves from TJ's!* Fig & Olive Crisps (an OG staple) – These go with cheese, with dips, or with nothing at all. They're a perfect snack or an impressive addition to a grazing board for sharing. They're a tasty marriage of savory and sweet. You'll thank me.* Resuable Silicone Food Storage Bags (a new favorite) – These are functional, sustainable, and safe! We use them all the time and for so many things from leftovers to snacks, storing liquids or solids, and heating or freezing. And you can't beat the price (the Stasher brand bags cost *no exaggeration* like 4x as much).* Hold The Cone Mini Ice Cream Cones (a sweet treat) – I don't have huge sweet tooth, but every now and then I need just "a little something sweet" after dinner. Enter these "Hold The Cone" mini ice cream cones; my fave is Vanilla, but they come in Chocolate and Chocolate Chip. There's also a dairy-free version I want to try! Love these. There are tons more, so don't be surprised to find a new fave or TJ's recipe here on a regular basis. Alright, my loves, that's it for this week. Let me know what you think about the new format. Your comments and feedback here mean SO much to me, so comment away! The season finale....we bring it back to films we love which are loaded with philosophical ideas and we dive into a little bit of Latin - Cogito Ergo Sum! We discuss the classic questions of, how do we know anything is real? Is there anything we CAN know is real? Does it even matter? We discuss Descartes and how he came to his famous "I think therefore I am" and what that exactly means, and we extend his skepticism to help explain the relationship with the classic movie The Matrix. This is the final episode for the season and the upcoming break may be a bit longer as we're busy focusing on Stasher's funding round - https://seedrs.com/stasher if you're interested. As a mother of three, Kat Nouri was dismayed at the amount of single-use plastic she was using to pack her kids' school lunches. She had already launched a successful brand called Modern Twist, which sold placemats and baby bibs made of silicone. So Kat wondered: why not use silicone to make durable food storage bags, which—instead of being used once, could be used thousands of times? In 2016 she launched Stasher, and was soon persuading retailers that an $11 reusable bag was better for the planet—and ultimately, more cost-effective for the big-box shopper. Kat successfully sold the brand to S.C. Johnson just a few years after launch, but her short tenure at Stasher's helm was marked by growing pains and gnawing moments of anxiety, including an unexpected scuffle with the sharks on Shark Tank.

In today's episode, meal prep expert Allison Schaaf shares her recommendations for the best storage containers for your weekly meal prep. She shares why, from both a taste and health perspective, you may want to rethink plastic bags and containers for food storage. Make sure to use tempered glass. This means you'll be able to put them in the freezer and the oven (although they can still break with extreme temperature changes). Also look for durable, BPA-free lids. I've had the best luck with Glasslock (linked below). You can also use stainless steel bowls with a silicon lid or beeswax paper over the bowl to seal things in the fridge as a backup. The trailer, and first twenty minutes, suggested that the show would be both heavy-handed (a butterfly in a jar to symbolize a hot mom being smothered by the confines of domesticity? groundbreaking) and bizarrely menacing in tone. If we're going to watch a campy, graphically sexual romance, we prefer a bit more spark and frothy fun and a bit less foreboding voiceover. But then, well, everyone started watching it. A lingering moment of male full-frontal fueled a think-piece cycle. Reviews were, uh, less than kind. Against our own initial instincts, we grew intrigued. And so, at last, we binged. “Sex/Life” tells the story of Billie, a ragingly hot and miserable Greenwich stay-at-home mom. She has a preschooler and a newborn, a sculpted Greek god of a husband who is also a successful hedge funder and living saint, a long-abandoned career as a psychologist and PhD candidate, and a throbbing need for sexual adventure and fulfillment that has begun to explode messily all over her life. In a melodramatic voiceover, taken from the pages of her Word doc journal, Billie recalls the explosive sex she used to have with her bad-boy ex, Brad, who broke her heart, and yearns for a rekindling of that part of herself. And then, oops, her husband reads the diary — AND she runs into Brad, who she learns has been hooking up with her best friend, Sasha, but still has feelings for her. Who will she choose? What will her husband do? The drama unfolds from here, but all the plot is crammed into a handful of minutes in between endless explicit sex scenes, which manage to feel more grim than sensual. In this discussion, we cover the first four episodes of “Sex/Life”: getting to know the paper-flat characters, unpacking the themes, and breaking down the credulity-stretching plot turns. We hope you enjoy! We've been reading…Filthy Animals, the new short story collection by Brandon Taylor, author of the recent novel Real Life, which I absolutely adored. There's a thread of linked stories, about an unusual relationship that forms between three young people at a university — two dance students, who are dating, and a man who becomes entangled in a sexual game between them — that serves as a spine for the collection, but the stories also dip into the lives of a desperate nanny, a tenuously closeted woman in her first lesbian relationship, and more. The whole collection is acutely observed and emotionally nuanced, a true pleasure to read. -ClaireWe've been watching…“My Unorthodox Life,” a reality show on Netflix about Julia Haart — current CEO of Elite World Group, and former member of an Ultra-Orthodox community in Monsey — and her four children. It's a fascinating look at religious fundamentalism and the path one family took in walking away from it. -EmmaThe second season of “I Think You Should Leave”! I almost cried with joy when I saw a new season of Tim Robinson's relentlessly uncomfortable, painfully funny sketch comedy show in my Netflix carousel. The new season is rife with absurd bits that spoof office politics, social niceties, and the death throes of capitalism. (If you've never watched the show, start with this season 1 sketch and then watch all two seasons.) -ClaireWe've been listening to…“Drama Queens,” the podcast where former “One Tree Hill” stars Bethany Joy Lenz, Sophia Bush and Hilarie Burton recap the series, episode by episode. The first episode gave me all the nostalgic feels about my days of WB-watching. -EmmaWe've been buying…Heeled sandals from Zara. I decided I needed to mix up my shoe collection and wanted some fun heels that also weren't super high and weren't super expensive. I landed on these fun pearl-trimmed ones! -EmmaI'm on a personal spending fast after months of trying to figure out what my summer style would be, in a postpartum world — I've figured it out, it's floaty dresses and high-waisted shorts with tank tops, next question — but my neighborhood park has a composting drop-off site, so I got a compost pail for our kitchen counter! It's part of my long-term plan to suck less at making sure everything in our home is recycled and disposed of in the most sustainable possible way. Recently I've also been trying out Bee's Wrap and Stasher bags to cut down on our plastic use, and reusable paper towels. -Claire This is a public episode. Traveling is one of the most rewarding endeavors, but it is also one of the most challenging. One hurdle is storing things while traveling, but English startup Stasher is looking to change how travelers store their luggage.Joining Host Sarah Dandashy to discuss on this episode of Say Yes To Travel is Jacob Wedderburn-Day, the CEO and Co-Founder at Stasher, a travel tech startup that is the world's first luggage storage network that connects travelers with hotels and stores that can keep luggage safe while users enjoy their time in a city."Storage in cities is a genuine problem." - Jacob Wedderburn-DayWedderburn-Day launched Stasher as a happy accident when one of his friends wanted to store stuff with another friend. The friend joked about charging people for this service. An idea was born. They launched a website where folks could keep things in their flats. The model has since evolved, but the basic idea remains."Storage in cities is a genuine problem," Wedderburn-Day said. "If you remember at the time, and it's still the case, Airbnb at that time had gone from this interesting idea to a household name, and everyone was starting to do it. It was also creating an even bigger opportunity in this space."What was a joke of an idea is now in over 250 cities worldwide, though they took a bit of a hit during the COVID-19 Pandemic. Hotels and businesses use the site to market their storage space, and travelers can store their things in a secure location. As a former concierge, Dandashy noted the need for travelers to store items while they're traveling."There's a kind of simplicity to the idea, which makes it great," Wedderburn-Day said. "It is not reinventing anything, and it's taking that sharing-economy model that we've seen work so well with taxis and rentals. It is really just making use of space that exists already."

First, please take the survey to let me know what you think of the show. It's on the top of the show notes. Second, stay tuned to the end and I'll give you the actionable insights I learned from this episode. Thirdly, you can support the show by buying the audio version of the book, The Entrepreneur Ethos, narrated by David A. Conatser. Thanks so much for listening. Now on to my guest today, Jacob Wedderburn-Day, cofounder of Stasher. Jacob and his cofounder were friends at Oxford, where they studied economics and brainstormed ideas for possible businesses. After moving to London, they came up with the idea for Stasher after seeing how people they knew were looking for places to put baggage temporarily while visiting and travelling. Inspired by Uber and Airbnb, they put up a website and started offering storage solutions in their own flats. Eventually they found an investor, a storage company in the UK, which enabled them to build the business and form partnerships. Through SEO, partnerships with travel businesses, and online reviews, they were growing strong until COVID hit last March. With everyone in lockdown, Jacob and his cofounder decided to go into hibernation. They were able to keep their team and preserve their capital through a government furlough scheme which Jacob describes as going “on pause,” so they can be ready to start up again as soon as restrictions on travel are lifted. The support has been invaluable in enabling them to keep their team together and keeping the business viable until people are traveling again. Now let's get better together. Actionable Insights One key to Stasher's success has been to do one simple thing and to do it well. This means they can easily meet people's expectations, garnering referrals and good reviews. Use downtime wisely to prepare for the next stage. While Stasher has obviously been hit by the pandemic, the company is focused on getting ready for when restrictions will be lifted again. Microeconomics is way more useful than macroeconomics. The reason being that local conditions matter more than anything when it comes to business. Go global by focusing on local. Stasher’s on-demand booking platform connects global travelers with hotels and stores that can keep your luggage safe in secure storage rooms while you enjoy your time in a city. Described as the "Airbnb of Luggage," Stasher is a sharing economy solution for storage. They realized that people don't want to drag their suitcases, backpacks, or more around a city when they just have a few hours before they have to depart. They created a global network of hotels and stores with extra space where travellers can find affordable, convenient storage for their belongings. Secured with the same standards as a hotel check-in, Stasher partners with leading brands like Premier Inn, Accor & Hotels.com to provide storage worldwide. The service has no size restrictions and award-winning customer support. Pick the most convenient location to store your bags and book easily online from just £6, €5, or $5 per item for up to 24 hours. Each bag is also fully insured up to £1000. Book online now and get instant confirmation. How did it all start? People were always asking to store their stuff at Anthony's home near King's Cross. When Matt asked, Anthony replied, "Sure, but I'm charging you for it." This joke was the lightbulb moment. On 21 September 2015, they incorporated CityStasher Ltd (now Stasher). Fast forward to 2020, and the travel tech startup secured a $2.5 million funding round and was featured in TechCrunch, Forbes, and Yahoo. I invited Jacob Wedderburn-Day, CEO & Co-Founder at Stasher onto the podcast. Jacob oversees operations, finance, and strategy at Stasher. Prior to co-founding the startup in 2015, he graduated BA Economics & Management from Oxford University and MSc Economics from UCL. He's passionate about entrepreneurship, economics, and football.

Good morning friends, and welcome back to TechCrunch’s Equity Monday, a short-form audio hit to kickstart your week. Equity's regular, long-form shows still land each and every Friday, including this entry from just a few days ago. This morning, coming to you early from the frozen tundra of the American East Coast, it's Tuesday. That's because yesterday was a holiday in the United States, so we took the day to work a little less than usual. But that doesn't mean we'd skip an episode, so let's dive into topics:Uber is cutting its losses in India, selling its Eats business for a stake in Zomato. Zomato is well-funded, and Uber now loses less money. However, where it will find growth is the next question.Earnings season is upon us. This week Netflix, IBM, and Intel will announce their results. Naturally, those aren't the companies that we care about the most on Equity, but they are big enough to generate quite a lot of noise. Noise that will help set market sentiment regarding technology companies, both public and private. Also on the news front, Tesla is saying 'no' to reports that its cars accelerate without input.Qonto, a French neobank, has raised a $115 million Series C. That's a huge round for a neat company that is taking a popular model in a fresh direction.Stasher is a neat company in that it must make sense, even if your humble servant doesn't really get it. It raised $2.5 million more.Captrace also put together a round, though we don't know how large. What happens if you cross the cap table with blockchain? We may find out. Finally, a reminder as to why Uber is leaving Eats in India behind. Globally, Uber Eats turned $3.66 billion in GMV into $392 million in adjusted net revenue in Q3 2019. That wound up generating -$316 million in adjusted EBITDA. Damn.

Damn.

Short Stay Show Podcast - Luggage Storage Network - Catherine & Jack - Stasher Stasher came about in 2015 as the brain-child of two Oxford Graduates. Anthony lived near Kings Cross in London and regularly had friends asking if they could leave bags at his place so they could explore the city. They quickly realised hundreds of people must have this problem each day, and with struggling small high street businesses across the city that have extra space, this could be the perfect place to store them. They now have over 1000 storage locations across the world, all over Europe, US, Aus and Asia including hotel brands like Acccor and Premier Inn. Join me as Catherine & Jack from Stasher share how this genius luggage storage idea can ease the arrival and departure of guests into your property and give them a better experience, whilst removing an issue for you as Short Stay Providers www.shortstay.show www.hlspod.com/stasherofficial
Catherine and Jack take us through the Stasher story which started in 2015 Stasher is the world's first luggage storage network connecting guests with hotels and stores that can keep luggage safe while they enjoy their time in a city. This episode covers a lot of ground in the start up story and give some great insight including their insurance policy which doesn't get used much and the success of the oft avoided cold sales call which snared them a deal with Premier Inn and Accor.

Stasher Founder and CEO, Kat Nouri, calls herself a rebel, and her unconventional founder journey backs up that claim. From a young age, Kat was taught to value health and wellness, but also to maintain a strong work ethic. When she found herself juggling the entrepreneurial life while also raising a family, she decided to bring her two worlds together... and Stasher was born. The smart alternative to plastic is eco-friendly, microwave and oven safe, versatile, and reusable, and Kat has big plans for Stasher's future.
Paul Maguire is a professional product developer. He develops new products for a living. It's not an easy job, but it's definitely a fun one. He studied plastics engineering in college at the University of Massachusetts Lowell, where he learned about making products with plastics. (This is one of the only majors like this in the country.) For 15 years, he did product development for other people, including for medical startups and consumer sporting goods companies. In this interview, licensing expert Stephen Key interviews Paul about what it's like being a full-time inventor. He currently works for a startup named Stasher (a very popular product seen on 'Shark Tank') as well as pursues his own ideas. They discuss a range of topics, including studying the market and identifying opportunities, making improvements to existing products, the importance of cost, manufacturing specs, and more. Thank you Paul for sharing your expertise! Bringing an invention to market? Let inventRight, the world's leading experts on product licensing, show you how. After the impromptu pledge of no more fabric buying live on last month's episode, both Lori and Helena have taken another look at their stashes. There are a lot of ways to look at those piles of fabric we inevitably collect as sewers. How do we feel about it, how do we manage it? We asked Psychic Sewer Kathleen about her stash habits, too. We also dove into how Kathleen's psychic abilities play out in her life, profession and in her sewing. And our Joy Correspondent Hila pops in to spread a little, well, joy!

Niche Radio — I have Jared on again from Stasher, during the Stasher episode there was an uncovering of Jared’s child, not his child scenario. I thought it valuable to have him on again to discuss what it means to go through the issues of a paternity test when the other person is in another country and what support system you need in order to tackle such a mountain.

In this episode I had the absolute pleasure of chatting with Jacob Wedderburn-Day, the Founder and CEO of Stasher. After graduating from the University of Oxford to complete his Economics and Management degree, followed by UCL for his Masters in Economics, Jacob founded Stasher alongside his co-founder, Anthony. In the early days, Stasher was referred to as the “AirBnB for storage” - a no doubt complimentary term for the young company, but one which Jacob and his team were keen to shake as they carved their own space in the ever-growing market place sector. Jacob himself acknowledges that they really started as ‘kids’ trying to convince individuals and companies to work with Stasher, but after some clever moves on their part, they quickly started working with some of the most well known names in the travel industry, including; Expedia, Hotels.com, Premier Inn, and Accor Hotels, to name just a few. In this episode we discuss: Business validation Measuring success Overcoming objections Finding and establishing the right partnerships Raising finances, angel investment, and venture capital Marketing routes

Thank you for joining us for our 2nd Cabral HouseCall of the weekend! I’m looking forward to sharing with you some of our community’s questions that have come in over the past few weeks… Let’s get started! Lena: Hey Stephen, You've got a listener from paris! I really like your podcast, it is very informative! keep the good work ;) I've got a question about myself, i would sooo love for you to answer I will really try to be short ;) My name is Léna, I'm 30 year old, vegan, gluten free girl and since last july, i've began having big pain in my belly every time i ate, like the pain one got with gastroenteritis, where you move in all directions with your hands around your belly but never feeling relieved. It was lasting about 2 to 3 hours (maybe the time of digestion) with big pains on my back every time i ate. My eosinophils were very high in august, around 2200 (the high limit is in about 580!) then it drops to 1800 and a few months later to 750 but i think it did go up again later (i didn't do another analysis but had giant pains). I did a lot of blood tests, there were no parasites founded (but i took an anti-parasite pill), no H pilory, i did biopsies, 2 fibroscopies, 1 coloscopy but nothing founded I have a appointment in internal medecine at a hopital in a few months to find why i got very high and anormal eosinophils I did have a test to know if i'm sensitive to some foods: there were brazil nuts, eggs and some other nuts (little reaction) and other foods that i don't even eat (like corn, barley, milk etc.) i totally stopped brazil nuts and eggs for now. I will try to reintroduce them in a few months Anyway, my pains hurt for six months and in december, when I was really tired of suffering every time i ate (it was getting worse again), i saw a nutritherapist and she said to stop eating carbs (fruits, butternuts and vegetables like carrots and beets) for a short period of time and to increase anti inflammatory oils and decrease proteins. A very low carb globally (more vegan ketolike actually). I have complements like turmeric (curcumin), vitamin D, zinc, b12, glutamine, fish oils (and estroblock but it has nothing to do with that!) And in 3 days my pains decrease immensely! It's been almost a month and I already feel better. Sometimes i feel unconfortable or i feel pain but nothing compared to before But, i'm feeling a bit tired and i find it weird to eat so much fat (like more than a 120 g a day, less than 50 grams of net carbs a day but i'm more at 25g, and 60 gr of protein). And i didn't have my period this month... I'm afraid of my thyroid, my hormones and especially my acne since i had cystic acne all my life and it's been fine since the last year, one year after stopping the pill (which i had for 14 years!!!) So, my questions are: what do you think could explain my pains if it's not parasites or allergies? If you have an idea, what could be the solutions to feel better and have a normal life, which i so much want Should i maintain this "vegan keto diet" or what should I do? What complements should I take to regulate my hormones and not have acne. i feel so lost between opposite articles on the web about low carb / keto / diet / hormones, i feel quite abandonned by doctors, and it's just me, a young girl, stuck with this problem thank you so much for answering this, it would really mean a lot to me cheers from France because yes, even french people are listening to your podcast! ps: i always had trouble with digestion, but more like bloating and gas. I'm very sensitive. i'm very thin, i do sport, i eat a lot of vegetables ;) Ryan: Hey Dr. Cabral I am reaching to you on a recommendation from one of my clients and I believe your friend, Dave Armstrong "Army", in regards to my father. In September 2017 he had a partial knee replacement that resulted in an infection followed by heavy antibiotic treatment. Since that time he has been suffering with a multitude of health issues concerning his kidneys, blood platelets, diabetes, as well as his pancreatic and digestive function. He has seen over a half dozen different doctors and specialists and gone through just about every test or scan that they can think of. Yet, collectively they have absolutely zero idea of what's going on. The only answer they have given is more medication to mask the real problems. I fear that they will never get to the bottom of it and will just continue to medicate the symptoms away until one of the systems eventually fails. I'm not sure how your practice works but I would like to set up a consultation for him if possible. I will also be contacting your office as instructed by Julia via Dave. J.A.: Hi Dr Cabral, Love your podcast and learning about natural medicine. I am on a healing journey to resolve 'chronic mystery pain' that came on me 2 years ago and has not left. I have addressed Heavy Metals and had extensive testing OAT, HTMA all look ok. The only thing left is elevated LFT and billirubin my practitioner thinks this could be causing excess estrogen/histamine. So working to balance hormones via the liver. Aside from this I want to do your 7 day detox but will have to tweak it as I am very sensitive to 'pea' on IGG so will use hemp protein and supps my ND has given me. My question - sorry took a while to get to it! but trying to give full picture is about meals. Since listening to your last podcast (705) on 3 meals per day I anted your take on how I eat to assist with the above. I eat a plantbased diet. My day starts with a smoothie at 5.30am (I start work at 7am) so it is a long day and hence I usually have a snack (e.g hummus on rice cakes at about 10am. Lunch which is a salad with quinoa/veg etc at 12.30pm. I then have another snack like a piece of fruit at about 2. then dinner at about 7. Because I have a longer day am I ok to snack? or am I overloading my body and delaying healing? should my snack be protein shakes? Weight is stable and I don't need to lose weight. Pitta/Kapha body type. Any additional comments on the whole situation appreciated. Happy New Year! I will be listening to every podcast :) Mel: Hi, not sure if you received my question last time... Sorry if you did... What ate your thought on baby formula if it has to be given along with breastfeeding? First foods for baby? Also, best contraception to avoid pill? Amelia: Hi Dr. Cabral, I'm in my 40's and have been researching the best supplements for hair growth and skin firming. I have heard about things like Collagen Love and Vital proteins, but I'm not sure what brands to trust to work. Can you please recommend a few that are great for both skin collagen and tightening as well as hair growth? Thanks Amelia Dee: Hi Dr Cabral, Can you recommend alternatives to plastic wraps and storage baggies? I’m seeing some silicone options, ((specifically Stasher brand)) but I was wondering if there’s anything better or more cost effective. Thanks for info Dee Thank you for tuning into this weekend’s Cabral HouseCalls and be sure to check back tomorrow for our Mindset & Motivation Monday show to get your week started off right! - - - Show Notes & Resources: http://StephenCabral.com/758 - - - Get Your Question Answered: http://StephenCabral.com/askcabral
Since we last spoke, I headed over to the Lower Mainland Sheep Producer's Association Wool and Ewe-A-Fair, which is held annually at the Cloverdale Fairgrounds. I hadn't planned to go, since I prefer to escape to these types of events kid-free if at all possible, but at the last minute, I decided to go with Emily in tow.We went for the morning, leaving before the fleece auction began at noon. I just can't be trusted around all those fresh wool fumes! We had a really nice time, and I found a couple (of pounds, HA!) of goodies to bring home.I left fully intrigued with (and regretting I didn't buy) one of the woven 'stadium cushions' from Hannelo's Studio. You can see a picture of what I'm talking about if you follow the link. They look amazing in person! She's a fiber artist based in the Fraser Valley.I was really impressed with the variety and beautiful colours at Ewesful Creations' booth. I also made a quick stop in at Birkeland Bros booth. I was really hoping to pick up another pound of white Crossbred sliver to go with the pound I bought at one of the events last year (for a future sweater spin), but they didn't have any of that with them. Never fear, I found some wool to follow me home.LinksLower Mainland Sheep Producer's AssociationEwesful Creations, Chilliwack, BCBirkeland Bros, Abbotsford, BCDeb Robson interview on the Fruity Knitting PodcastBreed specific wool - North Country CheviotI also included a little video clip of the way Emily and I have been spinning together. She loves to put her foot on the treadles and help with the spinning. She often insists I take my feet off the treadles so she can do it herself, but she isn't able to keep the wheel going by herself yet.
