https://www.michelledanner.comwww.allinfilms.com   Instagram michelledannerla  There aren't many people who can point to a career full of success as a performer, teacher, storyteller, entrepreneur, and expert. But Michelle Danner can. The legendary acting teacher and founder of the Creative Center for the Arts and the Los Angeles Acting Conservatory, Danner is also now well-established as a successful film director. Her last film,“Miranda's Victim,” stars Abigail Breslin, Luke Wilson, Ryan Phillippe, Emily VanCamp, Mireille Enos, Enrique Murciano, Brent Sexton, Josh Bowman, Sebastian Quinn, Taryn Manning, Nolan Gould, Dan Lauria, Kyle MacLachlan, Andy Garcia and Donald Sutherland. The film tells the true story of Trish Weir (Breslin) who was kidnapped and brutally raped by Ernesto Miranda. The subsequent trials went all the way to the Supreme Court and led to creation of the Miranda Rights. Up next for Danner is the comedy romance film “The Italians,” which stars Matthew Daddario (Shadowhunters), Rob Estes (Silk Stalkings), Perrey Reeves (Entourage), David DeLuise (Wizards of Waverly Place), Olivia Luccardi (It Follows), Lainie Kazan (My Big Fat Greek Wedding), and Abigail Breslin (Zombieland, Little Miss Sunshine). The film is currently playing at festivals around the country. A dedicated mom of two (one is an aspiring filmmaker), Danner still has her “day job” – overseeing the faculty of the Los Angeles Acting Conservatory, and conducting her weekly acting class. Michelle has worked privately with Christian Slater, Salma Hayek, Gerard Butler, Seth MacFarlane, Penelope Cruz, Chris Rock, Gabrielle Union, Zooey Deschanel, Henry Cavill, Isla Fisher and James Franco. A longtime student of legendary acting teachers like Stella Adler and Uta Hagen, Danner's eclectic approach (which she calls “The Golden Box”) allows actors the freedom to employ a wide variety of techniques. Raised in a show business family and with a deep appreciation for all of the performing arts, Danner also continues to run the boutique “Cinema at the Edge” film festival and is currently preparing to direct a new one-person play, Bonnie Culver's “Norris,” starring Anne Archer, based on the memoirs of the widow of writer Norman Mailer. Simply put, there's almost no one in the business who knows as much about acting and success as Michelle Danner – and her continued success in multiple creative fields makes her one of the most successful women working in the industry today. “Miranda's Victim” is a new feature film thoughtfully directed by Michelle Danner with a heavy hitting cast starring Abigail Breslin, Mireille Enos, Emily VanCamp, Ryan Phillippe, Luke Wilson, Andy Garcia, Donald Sutherland and Kyle MacLachlan. If you've watched any crime show, chances are you've heard the Miranda warning which starts “You have the right to remain silent…” But do you know where it came from and who “Miranda” was?  If you thought Miranda was an innocent victim who was perhaps falsely accused of a crime you'd be mistaken. Lisa sits down with executive producer and writer George Kolber  of “Miranda's Victim” to talk about the true story of who the real victim was at the heart of the ground breaking legal challenge.  In 1963, 18 year old Trisha Weir was on her way home from her job at a local Phoenix Arizona movie theater when she was abducted off the street, driven out into the desert and raped by Ernesto Miranda, a man who already had a history of crime including stalking and sexual assault. The police were able to zero in on Miranda, bring him into a line up where Trisha identified him and shortly thereafter he wrote a full confession to the crime without the presence of an attorney. Miranda was convicted, but later his verdict was overturned by the Supreme Court who found that his rights as a suspect had been violated. The film tracks Trisha's journey as she tries heal from her trauma and still pursue justice.  For help with sexual assault in the US visit https://www.rainn.org/ In Australia, visit https://fullstop.org.au/ Watch the trailer for Miranda's Victim here https://youtu.be/CJq0Frb-f-Y?si=ohPkglEumDvzEe2A

Anna invites writer-director Veena Sud (The Killing, Seven Seconds) and actor Mireille Enos to discuss The Lie, part of Amazon Prime Video’s Welcome To The Blumhouse series. Shot in the snowy suburbs of Toronto, this unsettling crime-drama shows a young girl’s terrible secret unravel in horrifying ways. Beware of minor spoilers. Veena talks to Anna about what drew her to adapting The Lie, and why it was important to address social issues such as the sexualisation of women and racial profiling. She further speaks to the importance of diversity in positions of power in filmmaking and criticism. Veena also produces some fantastic film recommendations for Halloween, including Night of the Living Dead and It Follows. Mireille talks about playing Rebecca, the mother of Kayla (Joey King), and speaks highly of Veena’s directorial skills. She also revisits her roles in Hanna and The Killing, both also available to watch on Prime Video now. Keep listening to hear Mireille’s own terrible secret about horror movies… Finally, critic Kayleigh Donaldson shares her thoughts on the Suspiria remake, American Psycho, and Midsommar – all on Amazon Prime Video now. They also talk about the recent female-focused horror releases Saint Maud, Carmilla, Relic and Cordelia. Finally, Kayleigh recommends Carnival of Souls (1962) and the works of Ida Lupino, and suggests checking out the horror streaming service Shudder on Amazon. Other movie mentions: Seven Seconds (2018), Fright Night, The Witches (2020), The Captive (2014). This episode is in partnership with Amazon Prime Video. Starting with winning the Irene Ryan Acting Scholarship, an award annually presented to the nation’s top collegiate actor, she went on to spend 10 years in New York City gaining confidence and experience as well as a Broadway Tony nomination for her portrayal of "Honey" in Edward Albee 's "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?" In addition to stage credits, she went on to work in both film and television and gained critical acclaim for her lead role of detective Sarah Linden in AMC’s crime drama, The Killing. She can currently be seen playing the role of Marissa Wiegler in the Amazon original series, Hanna . Today, Mireille shares her wealth of knowledge and experience from how she knows when a role is meant for her, to the importance of switching from artist brain to business brain when considering agency representation, and of course, what it was like to chemistry read with Brad Pitt. The Brown Note Movie Review

Dare I say this critically trashed box office poison is my favorite Arnie starring film since Terminator 2. For fans of both the grimiest, most violent Southern-pot-boiler/corrupt cop films, this should be pure cat-nip. The film is brutal and has a remarkably unsentimental and unlikable cast, topped by a horrifying turn from Mireille Enos. The Agatha Christie style story is way above what this kind of fare usually offers and it has no problems getting its hands very dirty. The Training Day alumni of (here director) David Ayers and Antoine Fuqua continue to fascinate me even in failure. A should be cult classic.

At a very early age, Wayne Roberts knew he wanted to be involved with filmmaking. Inspired by Tim Burton and Stanley Kubrick, he loved the idea of creating new worlds. But, outside of film, he was inspired by Ernest Hemingway and various other classic authors. Roberts’ is relatively new to the scene, but his first two films have made a big impact. In ‘Katie Says Goodbye,’ Olivia Cooke, Christopher Abbott, Mireille Enos, and Mary Steenburgen star in a film about a 17-year-old waitress-prostitute who wants a better life. In his latest film, ‘The Professor,’ Johnny Depp takes the lead opposite Rosemarie DeWitt in a comedy-drama about a college professor who takes a reckless turn in life once he discovers he’s been diagnosed with a terminal illness. In this interview, the writer-director talks about doing right by the characters, how a flash can turn into a full feature, the logistics of his creative process, the necessity of a powerful screenplay, why films should focus on emotion, and why it’s vital to avoid the trends of cinema. Since 2005, David Farr has been pursuing his passion as a screenwriter. As a staff writer on shows like ‘MI-5’ and ‘Outcasts,’ the English writer’s work has entered more of a solo career with the 2011 film version of ‘Hanna,’ which starred Saoirse Ronan, Cate Blanchett, Eric Bana, with Joe Wright in the director’s chair. Since the theatrical version, Farr penned the series ‘The Night Manager,’ a movie called ‘The Man With the Iron Heart,’ and he has additional credits for ‘McMafia’ and ‘Troy: Fall of a City.’ Now, he’s working on the reboot, televised version of ‘Hanna’ for Amazon. This time, the 8-episode first season stars Esme Creed-Miles, Joel Kinnaman and Mireille Enos. Essentially, the plot for the film and televised version “follows the journey of an extraordinary young girl raised in the forest, as she evades the relentless pursuit of an off-book CIA agent and tries to unearth the truth behind who she is…” In this interview, Farr discusses his love for existential spies, journeys of identity within character, best practices for longevity in television, and why it’s important to always understand the essence of story as a storyteller. Det er ren nordic noir, men altså sat i Canada. Desværre er filmen, som andre af Egoyans film også fragmenteret og forvirrende fortalt — her tilsyneladende alene for at dække over hullerne i det alt for banale og alt for klichetunge plot. World War Z - Blu-ray Review 4.3 Stars (out of 5) - Rated PG-13   Synopsis A U.N. employee races against time and fate as he travels the world trying to stop the spread of a deadly zombie pandemic. As the undead hordes gain strength across the globe, governments topple and Earth stands on the brink of total social collapse. Starring: Brad Pitt, Matthew Fox, Mireille Enos, James Badge Dale, David Morse, David Andrews Director: Marc Forster Blu-ray Release Date: September 17, 2013 Subtitles: English, English SDH, French, Spanish, Portuguese Rating Overall rating weighted as follows: Audio 40%, Video 40%, Special Features 20%, Movie - its just our opinion so take it with a grain of salt Audio 4.5 Stars (out of 5) Dolby and DTS Demo Discs used as basis for comparison ●        Subwoofer – 4.5 Stars ●        Dialog – 4.5 Stars ●        Surround Effects – 4.0 Stars ●        Dynamic Range - 5.0 Stars English: DTS-HD Master Audio 7.1, French: Dolby Digital 5.1, Spanish: Dolby Digital 5.1, Portuguese: Dolby Digital 5.1 The subwoofer gets some action but it's not as bombastic as I would like. However several scenes feature low frequencies such as explosions, car crashes, gunshots, hordes of tumbling zombies, and exploding grenades. In a few scenes it was difficult to make out some lines of dialog. It sounded a little muffled and was lost to the background. The rear channels are not used as often as they could have been, but they do a good job filling the room with the sounds of helicopters, broken glass, screaming crowds, airplane propellers, soft falling rain, and of course screaming congregation of unhappy zombies. Video  4.5 Stars (out of 5) Spears & Munsil Benchmark Blu-ray Edition used as basis for comparison ●        Color Accuracy  - 4.5 Stars ●        Shadow detail – 4.5 Stars ●        Clarity – 4.0 Stars ●        Skin tones – 4.5 Stars ●        Compression – 5.0 Stars Codec: MPEG-4 AVC, Resolution: 1080p, Aspect Ratio: 2.40:1, Original Aspect Ratio: 2.39:1 Colors are cold in most scenes, in a few others colors are natural looking but overall the hue matches the tone … dreary. A few colors are more noticeable than others like yellow taxi cabs, glowing red road flares, and one short view of some green grass. There are numerous dark scenes and it does a decent job of handling it but a few details do get lost in the shadows. The clarity is mediocre for a Blu-ray. It won't wow you but it's good enough to see, loose hairs in the wind, individual grey hairs in Pitt's beard, wrinkles on skin, and floating ash. Bonus Features 3.5 Stars (out of 5) ●        Origins (HD, 8:21): A look at the film's production, from the book's release in 2006 and  translating it into film. ●        Looking to Science (HD, 7:28): An examination of how real-world scientific truths and analysis were used to enhance the film. ●        WWZ: Production (HD): A four-part Documentary detailing the making of the film. Movie – 3.5 Stars (out of 5) Review World War Z is a high budget zombie movie with the tone of an action drama instead of a horror film. Don't expect this PG-13 movie to be filled with gore and blood it spends more time solving the zombie problem than it does fighting them. Having an Oscar nominated actor like Brad Pitt in a zombie movie makes it more terrifying since he is able to emote terror and disgust in ways I haven't seen in a horror film before. It's a unique film that shows how different countries handle the “Z” problem, and it makes the scope of the movie seem very large. The plot is really four different stories that all star Pitt's character. This method of storytelling will definitely stop you from getting bored, but it also makes it hard to connect with the characters. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4EC7P5WdUko |
