Steve Gruber sits down with Ivey Gruber, President of the Michigan Talk Network and a 10X Individual, for a bold conversation on two hot-button issues: whether legal American voters should fear encounters with ICE agents, and how embracing traditional values now gets you labeled as an extremist. Ivey offers a sharp, unapologetic take on the growing cultural disconnect between common-sense values and today's political climate, and why standing firm has never been more important.

On today's episode of the Candice Malcolm Show, Candice is joined by new Juno News host Ron Chhinzer. Ron hosts The Crime Report with Ron Chhinzer, which airs Fridays on Juno News. They first discuss a shocking story of a teen who shot and killed another teen at a highschool in Scarborough. The jury in this case recently acquitted him of second degree murder, in part, because they agreed with the claim that his Toronto neighbourhood was “like Iraq” – so dangerous that he carried a concealed handgun for protection. Liberal immigration and crime policies have turned our country into third-world war zones and therefore gangbangers are apparently allowed to carry weapons to defend themselves! Candice reminds the audience of comments made by former Prime Minister – and architect of Canada's slide into third world status – Justin Trudeau in 2022, asserting that: “you can't use a gun for self-protection in Canada. It's not a right that you have” Next, they discuss a segment on the CBC that has gone viral online, where an RCMP Staff Sergeant declares that “holding traditional” values means that you are a radical extremist and possible terrorist.

#Selbsterkenntnis #JanSchmiedel #ErkennenIstLeben #MentaleFreiheit #Transformation #Perspektivwechsel #Selbstermächtigung #AuthentischSein #LebenImLicht

Nick Cohen and commentator Nick Tyrone discuss the rise of the radicalised right in the UK and ask why the Conservatives won't fight against the extremists in their midst and party. Instead, some Tories are have buckled to the siren voices of intolerance and extremism. They are dragging their party further to the extremes by trying to outflank Nigel Farage & Reform on the right.Right wing extremism becomes ever more extremeNick Tyrone says, "We've come so far that Farage is starting to look relatively moderate compared to some of the stuff that's even happening within the conservative party now. That's how scary things have become."Nick adds, "I have my doubts that however much money you threw at it, that a sort of a party that was sort of Rupert Lowe shaped like, was sort of that right wing could actually succeed to a huge degree in Britain. ... you could do it in a boiling frog sort of a way. I think you could get a, a government elected that on a much more moderate platform that, so that kept turning up the dial and got more and more right wing and, and if that government was producing, you know, economic growth and was eliminating some of the bigger problems they got the NHS working, they would probably be given leeway to do some fairly terrible right wing stuff."Conservatives wont defend conservatism - inevitability of Jenrick leadershipNick says, "Robert Jenrick is going to be the conservative leader unless Jenrick jumps to reform, which I don't think he will, but I can't rule that out. Yeah, it's gonna be Jenrick. And again, it's that sort of thing. Well, what do the moderates do? And the answer seems to be not very much. And just sort of go along and hope somewhere along the line everything works out. I think Jenrick could take them further to the right than reform. and what happens when that happens? I don't know. I mean, I can say, well, I don't think that'll work."Possible malevolent force could take over the UKNick Tyrone says, "I can't really emphasise enough every time I come on how completely all over the place the Tories are and what a mess they are. So in the end it's totally possible that some real malevolent force could take hold in British politics."Read all about it!Nick Tyrone is an author, activist, policy advisor and commentator and keen observer of the Tory party whose Substack column as Neoliberal Centrist Dad - nick.tyrone.substack.com - is a must read for those of us desperate for the return of sanity to our national political discourse.Nick Cohen's @NickCohen4 latest Substack column Writing from London on politics and culture from the UK and beyond. Welcome to What Matters Now, a weekly podcast exploring key issues currently shaping Israel and the Jewish World, with host Amanda Borschel-Dan speaking with senior analyst Haviv Rettig Gur. Dozens of Jewish extremists set fire to a security installation and rioted outside a West Bank base overnight Sunday-Monday, days after an officer in the Israel Defense Forces was assaulted by settlers, who threw rocks and attempted to harm other IDF soldiers. If there’s one institution that a majority of Israelis still get behind, it’s the IDF. So this attack, to many, was a wake-up call to the bubbling issue of settler extremists. In this week's What Matters Now, Rettig Gur describes the origins of the settler movement and how there were several visions that at times competed with each other -- and overlapped. He explains how the extremists who are repeatedly attacking neighboring Palestinian villages -- and now IDF soldiers -- are disenfranchised and largely shunned by the diverse settler communities. And we learn how politicians, some of whom serve as role models for these "hilltop youth" -- are finally also waking up to the problem. But while the leaders are changing their tunes, the youth are no longer listening. And so this week, we ask Haviv Rettig Gur, what matters now. They explore how social media fuels this chaotic new threat, why the FBI created a new classification for it, and what makes networks like 764 and the Order of Nine Angles so dangerous. Then, they turn to the recent string of violent antisemitic attacks in the US and what they reveal about the blurred lines between far-left, far-right, and jihadist extremism. Part 1 The Psychopath Test by Jon Ronson Summary"The Psychopath Test: A Journey Through the Madness Industry" by Jon Ronson delves into the complex world of psychopathology, exploring the nature and treatment of mental illness, particularly psychopathy. Overview: Jon Ronson, a journalist and author, embarks on a journey to understand what it means to be a psychopath, a condition often characterized by a lack of empathy, remorse, and emotional connection. The book is both investigative journalism and a personal exploration, intertwining anecdotes, interviews, and Ronson's own experiences.Key Themes and Concepts: The Hare Psychopathy Checklist: The book discusses the Hare Psychopathy Checklist, a diagnostic tool developed by psychologist Robert Hare to evaluate psychopathy. The checklist includes traits such as superficial charm, high intelligence, and shallow emotions. Ronson reflects on how the checklist is used and misused in various contexts, including prisons and corporate environments. The Journey into Mental Illness: Ronson meets a variety of individuals including mental health professionals, psychopaths, and patients in mental institutions. He explores how society labels and manages those deemed mentally ill, highlighting the fine line between sanity and insanity.Cultural Perceptions of Psychopathy: The author examines how psychopathy is perceived in society, touching on high-profile cases and suggesting that some of the traits associated with psychopathy can also be beneficial in corporate settings, effectively linking business and psychopathy.Exploring the Madness Industry: Ronson takes a critical stance on the mental health industry, questioning the definitions of mental illness and how diagnoses can sometimes be arbitrary. He discusses the power dynamics involved, especially how those labeled as mentally ill can be marginalized.Personal Reflections: Throughout the book, Ronson shares his own thoughts and insecurities about sanity, wondering about the threshold that separates a ‘normal' person from a psychopath. His personal anecdotes add a layer of relatability to the subject matter. Conclusion: "The Psychopath Test" challenges readers to think critically about mental illness, the definitions of sanity and insanity, and the moral implications of labeling individuals. It invites a conversation about empathy, ethics, and the complexities of human behavior in a world that often misunderstands mental health issues.Part 2 The Psychopath Test AuthorJon Ronson is a Welsh journalist, author, and documentary filmmaker known for his works that often explore the bizarre and the unconventional aspects of human behavior. Welcome to The Times of Israel's Daily Briefing, your 20-minute audio update on what's happening in Israel, the Middle East and the Jewish world. New York reporter Luke Tress joins host Amanda Borschel-Dan for today's episode. Twelve people were wounded Sunday in Boulder, Colorado — including at least one person in critical condition — when activists rallying for the release of the Israeli hostages in Gaza were attacked by a man shouting “end Zionists,” who fired a makeshift flamethrower and threw firebombs at them. Tress updates us with what we know so far about the suspect, Mohammed Soliman, and his motives. Tress compares Sunday's Boulder attack to the fatal shooting of Yaron Lischinsky and Sarah Milgrim at the Capital Jewish Museum in Washington, DC, less than two weeks ago. He reminds listeners of Jewish community leaders' warnings of potential copycat attacks on the horizon. To close, we learn about a new facility from the Community Security Service, a nonprofit that trains volunteer synagogue guards throughout the US, the first in the US dedicated to training synagogue guards as American Jews build out an array of connected security measures amid a global surge in antisemitism. Many governments eased off the shortwaves after the Cold War, and homegrown US-based rightwing extremists edged out shortwave peaceniks to fill the void. Reporter Katie Thornton explores how in the 1990s, US shortwave radio stations became a key organizing and recruiting ground for white supremacists and the burgeoning anti-government militia movement. On this instantaneous, international medium, they honed a strategy and a rhetoric that they would take to the early internet and beyond.Further reading:“Tucker Carlson, those South African white rights activists aren't telling you the whole truth,” by Carolyn Holmes (2019)“‘Kill the Boer': The anti-apartheid song Musk ties to ‘white genocide'” by Nick Dall On the Media is supported by listeners like you. In April, Israel's Minister of National Security Itamar Ben-Gvir toured the United States in his first-ever trip to the country as a government official. Many Jewish groups refused to meet with Ben-Gvir, a follower of Meir Kahane whose extremism stands out even in an Israeli political scene awash in anti-Palestinian racism. But Ben-Gvir was welcomed by Chabad rabbis at Yale in New Haven, in South Florida, as well as at 770 Eastern Parkway, the Chabad headquarters in Crown Heights, Brooklyn. The latter appearance sparked protests outside 770, which were met with violence by Chabadniks. In particular, a mob chanting “Death to Arabs” chased a female passerby for several blocks, kicking, spitting, and throwing objects at her. Other videos showed Chabadniks lighting a keffiyeh on fire, shoving and kicking members of the Hasidic anti-Zionist group Neturei Karta, and bloodying a female protester (herself a Jewish Israeli). To discuss Chabad's alignment with Ben-Gvir, its long-standing antipathy to leftist movements, and its uneasy relations within Crown Heights, Jewish Currents editor-in-chief Arielle Angel spoke with Jewish studies scholars Shaul Magid and Hadas Binyamini. They discuss Chabad's historic anti-Zionism, the quasi-Zionist cultural shifts that have solidified after October 7th, and the tensions the movement is currently navigating between its outreach orientation and its increasingly exclusionary politics. Thanks to Jesse Brenneman for producing and to Nathan Salsburg for the use of his song “VIII (All That Were Calculated Have Passed).”Texts Mentioned and Further Resources:The Rebbe, the Messiah, and the Scandal of Orthodox Indifference, David Berger“Israel's Class War Conservatives,” Joshua Leifer, Jewish Currents “The three-decade saga that led to the Crown Heights tunnels,” Chananya Groner, The Guardian“The Happy-Go-Lucky Jewish Group That Connects Trump and Putin,” Ben Schreckinger, PoliticoLetter to Hitler from the German Free Association for the Interests of Orthodox Jewry, 1933“Lubavitcher Hassidim Oppose Public Demonstrations on Behalf of Soviet Jews,” JTA“The New Heimish Populism,” Joshua Leifer, Jewish CurrentsRace and Religion Among the Chosen...

The Rich Zeoli Show- Full Show (05/13/2025): 3:05pm- The Democratic National Committee has taken the initial steps to void the results of a party election that resulted in David Hogg and Kenyatta Johnson winning Vice Chair positions. According to complaints, the initial vote disadvantaged female candidates. However, Rich speculates that the real reason Hogg is on the verge of being replaced is because he has threatened to spend $20 million primarying moderate Democrats in the House of Representatives. 3:10pm- According to a report from Politico, internal polling suggests that Senator John Fetterman's (D-PA) support with Pennsylvania-based Democrats has faded—with only 46% having a “favorable” opinion of him currently. Meanwhile, New York Magazine reports that staffers for Fetterman are voicing concerns about the state of his mental health. But are these stories suddenly being pushed because Fetterman has vocally opposed the far-left? While speaking with reporters on Capitol Hill last week, Fetterman called the article a “hit piece” and noted that it only has one source. 3:20pm- While promoting his new book, “Original Sin: President Biden's Decline, Its Cover-up, and His Disastrous Choice to Run Again,” CNN's Jake Tapper revealed that a White House physician informed then-President Joe Biden's aides that he might require the assistance of a wheelchair in his second term if he were to continue falling. While Tapper is reporting on these stories now, why wasn't he doing so prior to Biden's withdrawal from the 2024 presidential election? 3:35pm- While speaking with Ross Douthat of The New York Times, Senator Chris Murphy (D-CT) struggled to defend his position that biological males should be permitted to participate in women's sports. Rich jokes: this might the worst answer to a question since Kamala Harris's appearance on The View just before the 2024 presidential election. 3:40pm- Democrat political strategist James Carville is now imploring his party to stop using terms like “intersectionality” and “oligarch”—noting that common Americans don't use those terms and “don't know what the f*** you're talking about.” 3:55pm- While speaking from Riyadh, President Donald Trump announced that Saudi Arabia will be investing $600 billion in the United States economy—focusing on technology development and including a $142 billion defense sales agreement. PLUS, should President Trump accept a $400 million plane from Qatar? If it passes in the House, will Governor Josh Shapiro (D-PA) sign the bill? 4:15pm- Did Rich mention he was on Fox News today? 4:20pm- Should President Trump accept a $400 million plane from Qatar? According to reports, it would replace the current Air Force One—which is nearly 40 years old—and would eventually be gifted to the Trump Presidential Library after Trump leaves office in 2029. Appearing on Fox News, Sen. "American Extremists Aiding Radicals Across Border," trumpeted the Detroit Free Press in 1919. "707 Illegal Aliens Arrested in Checkpoint Crackdown," reported the Los Angeles Times in 1987. "87 Bronx gang members responsible for nine years of murders and drug-dealing charged in largest takedown in NYC history," announced the New York Daily News in 2016. "'Top secret' Hamas documents show that terrorists intentionally targeted elementary schools and a youth center," claimed NBC News in 2023. Each of these headlines includes a label for a certain type of Bad Guy. Whether it's the "Extremist," the "Illegal Alien," the "Gang Member," or the "Terrorist," these terms—and their cousins—seek to exceptionalize the alleged transgressions of their targets, separate them from both the law and history and dehumanize them, all while priming media audiences for crueler laws, harsher policing, longer incarceration and sometimes even extrajudicial punishment. The terms, of course, don't have clear, universally accepted definitions—nor are they supposed to—their use is often heavily racialized and, by their very nature, subject to the whims and ideologies of the Security State and the media doing its bidding. What effects, then, do these Bad Guy Labels have on public perceptions? How do they serve to foreclose critical thinking about who is deemed inside the bounds of due process and humanization and who is categorically an other in urgent need of disappearing and punishment? On this episode, we examine four thought-terminating Bad Guy labels, analyze their origins, why they rose to prominence and explain how they are selectively evoked in order to turn off people's brains and open up space for quick and cruel state violence. Our guest is attorney and author Alec Karakatsanis.

How do ordinary people become dangerous extremists? Former FBI agent Scott Payne infiltrated America's most violent hate groups and reveals their playbook. What We Discuss with Scott Payne: Scott Payne worked as an undercover FBI agent infiltrating various extremist organizations, including white supremacists like the KKK and accelerationists such as The Base, which aimed to trigger societal collapse and establish a white ethnostate. Accelerationist groups differ from traditional white supremacist organizations in that they don't believe in political solutions, but train for violence and "Boogaloo" (race war), preparing with tactical gear and weapons while planning attacks on infrastructure and targeted individuals. During his undercover work, Scott encountered disturbing rituals and behaviors, including a goat sacrifice during which members drank blood and took LSD as part of a neo-pagan ceremony associated with white supremacist ideology. White supremacist recruitment often targets vulnerable individuals from broken homes who are seeking belonging and connection, with online platforms like Telegram and Gab serving as recruitment grounds where extremist content can radicalize disaffected youth. Deescalation and communication skills proved to be Scott's most valuable tools throughout his career. His experience shows that even in hostile environments, the ability to talk through situations and remain calm under pressure is often more effective than physical confrontation — a skill anyone can develop and apply to their own difficult interactions.
