In our new 'Industry Updates' we'll bring you up to speed about news and reactions to pressing and important issues. These episodes will be published ad hoc and as soon as we can get them out. They do not replace our regular Friday podcasts and will be titled differently to help differentiate them. Chapter 3 of our Industry Updates hosted Jason McHeyzer, National Director of AHPRA (Australian Health Practitioner Regulatory Agency). With regulations very much in the Australian headlines yet again, we delve into the complexities of regulation within the cosmetic industry. We aim to clear up the confusion surrounding AHPRA's role and its efforts to ensure a safe and fair practice environment - for both our patients and the practitioners. Jason elaborates on the balance between patient safety and ethical practice. We get the regulators perspective on what sparked their clamp down on cosmetic surgery and with it, non-surgical cosmetic treatments. The discussion also covers the process of handling complaints behind the scenes, the importance of practitioner competence, and we briefly touch on future pending regulations on cosmetic injectables later this year. #AskDrJohnWatts Different questions related to baldness, hair grafts, hair loss, hair transplant procedures and medical treatments for hair loss are being raised by patients now and then, including the followers of Dr John Watts, who keep flooding his series of hugely popular educational videos on his popular YouTube channel with queries related to different hair issues. In this video session, Hyderabad's noted dermatologist & trichologist and one of the Best Hair Transplant Surgeons in Hyderabad, Dr John Watts answers a select question from a hair transplant patient on whether he can force his way and get his hair transplant surgeon to design a lower hairline. Will it suit his face? Will such a lower hairline design have any disadvantages? In this educational video, Dr John Watts explains the pros and cons of such an attempt. So far, Dr John Watts has performed over 2000+ hair transplant surgeries successfully. Lovely Teja asks: Sir, I want to have a reduced forehead look by opting for a lower hairline design. Can I insist my hair transplant surgeon design a lower hairline? Will it affect my look? Please explain. When considering a hair transplant procedure, some people may want to opt for a lower hairline to achieve a more youthful look. However, before making this decision, there are several potential drawbacks that should be taken into account. In response to the above queries by Lovely Teja, Dr John Watts said that it is not advisable to design a lower hairline by forcing one's hair transplant surgeon to have one's way. “Such an attempt will backfire if you force your hair transplant surgeon to design a lower hairline,” warned Dr John Watts. In fact, he listed out the following reasons why one should not opt for a lower hairline design and leave the decision-making to one's hair transplant surgeon to take the call. 1. One should always opt for a mature hairline design or a neutral hairline that would look natural. A lower hairline may not look natural or proportional to your facial features, particularly as one ages, the skin also ages and the face changes over time. 2. If one has excessive baldness at the back as well as front, achieving a lower hairline may require more grafts and more donor hair, which can increase the cost and risk of complications associated with the procedure. With a lower hairline, more grafts would be required for transplantation but there won't be enough available grafts for the hair transplant procedure. 3. As one age, a teenage-like hairline should be avoided as it would be completely at odds with one's facial features. “The best hairline is based on how one looks after shaving one's scalp. One needs to observe people how they look after shaving their scalp to get an idea,” advised Dr John Watts. 4. A lower hairline may not match the facial features of the person. Hence, the results would look completely odd. 5. A lower hairline may draw attention to forehead wrinkles or other signs of ageing, which could actually make you look older than you are. Conclusion: It's important to recognize that a lower hairline may not necessarily match one's expectations or personal preferences but a hairline design is something that is best left to one's hair transplant surgeon to decide. It should always suit the facial structures of a person. Trichos provides state-of-the-art treatment for various hair loss conditions and offers advanced hair transplant solutions. In this video session, Hyderabad's noted dermatologist & trichologist and one of the Best Hair Transplant Surgeons in Hyderabad, Dr John Watts answers a specific question about why hair types are not common for all and why individual hair types differ from one another. He explains the scientific reasons behind this phenomenon. In another query, he answers the right uses of a hair dryer so that hair is not damaged. So far, Dr John Watts has performed over 2000+ hair transplant surgeries successfully. K Anand asks: Sir, I want to know why all of us do not have the same hair types and why it differs in individuals with some having curly hair, silky hair or baby hair. Why hair types are not common for all? Please explain. In response to the above query by K Anand, Dr John Watts explained that our hair patterns are decided by our genetics. Not just hair pattern, but its texture, thickness, curliness, silky appearance or baby hair type is determined by our genes. This is also the same with our jawline or the shape of the nose as one may have a similar appearance passed on either from the father or mother's side. “In hair types, we prominently see curly hair as the dominant type as there are high chances of this feature getting expressed in the next generation. For instance, if the father has silky hair and the mother has curly hair, there is a greater likelihood of their children having curly hair,” explained Dr John Watts. The scientific rationale is that if someone has curly hair, they likely have inherited a variation of a gene called the trichohyalin gene, which influences the shape of the hair follicle and the resulting curliness of the hair. Dr John Watts tells Anand that there is no known way to permanently change one's natural hair texture or pattern as even if one shaves one hair, they will find that the new hair grows to the same pattern as before. “The DNA information is stored in the hair roots. Hence, the pattern will never change though one may temporarily style and alter the appearance of them. It is better to enjoy the hair irrespective of the pattern,” advised Dr John Watts. Tarak asks: Sir, I want to know if the use of a hair dryer can lead to hair fall. Please explain. In response to the above query by Tarak, Dr John Watts explained that hair dryers should always be used with caution. Even for drying our wet hair with a towel, one should not vigorously rub the hair but only tap dry them. “When the shearing force is applied on wet hair, there are chances of hair breakage. The same is true while using a hair dryer as it should not be too hot for the hair, causing it damage in the process. At least, one should maintain a 15 cm distance between the hair and the hair dryer while using it,” advised Dr John Watts. In case of exposure to severe heat, the hair's outer layer may get damaged and micro-cracks can form on the hair though the hair roots may not damage. “One should always try to use the hair dryer in either warm mode or cool mode but never in hot mode,” advised Dr John Watts.

In this video session, Hyderabad's noted dermatologist & trichologist and one of the Best Hair Transplant Surgeons in Hyderabad, Dr John Watts answers a specific question about the pace of growth of transplanted hair vis-à-vis existing hair on the scalp. Do they grow at the same speed or is one slower than the other? He delves into this question. In another query, Dr John Watts explains how to distinguish different types of hair loss from one another. So far, Dr John Watts has performed over 2000+ hair transplant surgeries successfully. Lakshman asks: Sir, you said in your earlier videos that for full growth after a hair transplant one may have to wait at least 6–7 months. I want to know if I shave my head after this period, will both transplanted hair and existing hair grow at the same pace or would one be slower than the other? Please explain. In response to the above queries by Lakshman, Dr John Watts said that a hair transplant is performed with a zero trim of the scalp. He explained that usually for the first 6–7 months after the hair transplant procedure, already existing hair will grow faster than the transplanted hair. “The slow growth rate of the transplanted hair may continue for one year to one and a half years. Thereafter, the pace of growth of transplanted hair and existing may become the same or even the growth rate of transplanted hair may outpace the existing hair. This is also possible,” informed Dr John Watts. However, the speed of growth of transplanted hair remains slow from the 6th month to the first 12-month period after the procedure.

In this video session, Hyderabad's noted dermatologist & trichologist and one of the Best Hair Transplant Surgeons in Hyderabad, Dr John Watts answers a select question on the Finasteride side effects and how one can minimize it same time to get good results. He also answers queries on whether one can use steroids along with hair medications and how one can avoid side effects while mixing them up at the same time. So far, Dr John Watts has performed over 2000+ hair transplant surgeries successfully. Hemant Kumar asks: Sir, I have been using Finasteride 1 mg and to minimize its side effects I use it only on alternate days. How long will it take to get the desired results? Please advise. In response to the above queries by Hemant Kumar, Dr John Watts acknowledged that he is on the right track as this technique can minimise adverse side effects of Finasteride, if any. “Using Finasteride on an alternate day is a good idea. You may have to wait for at least 4–5 months to get results. However, Finasteride 1 mg alone is not enough. You may have to combine other hair medications like Minoxidil and biotin supplements to get good hair growth results,” advised Dr John Watts. In the meantime, Dr John advised him to keep a close watch and monitor if it is leading to any kind of effect, especially on his sexual health. “If there is any side effect, immediately stop using Finasteride.” Nitin Abhinav asks: Sir, I have been on steroids. I want to know if it is safe to use hair medication while using steroids. Are there any precautions I need to follow? Please advise. In response to the above queries by Nitin Abhinav, Dr John Watts cautioned him on using steroids along with hair medications as such a mix-up may lead to a potential health issue for him. “Since I do not know for what reason, you are taking steroids, I will advise caution as it is generally not safe to use steroids as hair medications can interact with steroids and can cause complex health issues including affecting hair growth and hair health,” warned Dr John Watts. Steroids are often used for performance enhancement in sports and other athletic activities, especially for bodybuilders who want to increase muscle mass and increase their strength. These are unsafe techniques and may affect their health in general. However, there are occasions when steroids are prescribed by medical practitioners for certain conditions such as skin diseases or inflammatory disorders or while battling certain syndromes. “You can take steroids only under medical supervision and not otherwise. They are prescribed in such a way that the dosage is gradually tapered off. The best thing to do is to stop taking hair medication while on steroid use or till the drug dosage is tapered off.

In this video session, Hyderabad's noted dermatologist & trichologist and one of the Best Hair Transplant Surgeons in Hyderabad, Dr John Watts answers a select question on the side effects of Finasteride. He also addresses a query on the possible side effects of Minoxidil and alternative solutions for it. Dr John has performed over 2000+ hair transplant surgeries successfully. Veera R asks: Sir, I have been using daily Finasteride tablets. I want to know if this will lead to any adverse consequences in the future. I am unmarried. Please advise. In response to the above queries by Reera, Dr John Watts said that the Finasteride tablet works as a DHT blocker to control genetic baldness. “It helps prevent further progression of baldness. You can witness some growth and the existing hair will not fall,” said Dr John Watts. However, he pointed out that Finasteride is also known to result in some adverse side effects on rare occasions on very few users. “One's sex drive or libido can get affected but there is a technique that I always advise my patients to follow while using Finasteride,” explained Dr John Watts. He advised those prescribed Finasteride to adopt and implement a ‘drug holiday' on the weekend as this will help in the reduction of the accumulated drug in the body. In case one does not experience an impact on libido while following this technique, he advised the users to continue Finasteride regularly. In the event there are still side effects, he immediately advised them to stop Finasteride as Dr John Watts said one should value personal life more than having hair on one's scalp.

In this video session, Hyderabad's noted dermatologist & trichologist and one of the Best Hair Transplant Surgeons in Hyderabad, Dr John Watts answers a select question related to the side effects of using an unsterilized derma roller in the saloon or a hair clinic. He also addresses queries on the ideal time to use hair oil after a hair transplant surgery. Dr John has performed over 2000+ hair transplant surgeries successfully. Phani Senapati asks: Sir, I underwent a hair transplant procedure five months ago and I had good hair growth on the front. However, my crown area had poor hair growth and I opted for PRP. I undertook 8 sessions of PRP. Yet, there was no result. Please suggest. In response to the above queries by Phani Senapati, Dr John Watts explained that it is fundamentally wrong to compare the results obtained through hair transplant procedures with PRP therapy as both are different techniques. “If you compare PRP results with hair transplant results, you will find that the results with PRP are slow and less. However, if you are using medication along with PRP, you can get comparatively little better results,” explained Dr John Watts, while expressing doubt if Phani Senapati was using hair medication. In case he was using hair medication along with PRP but still, there was no proper growth on the crown region, Dr John Watts suggested he opt for a second hair transplant on the crown region in such a scenario for enhanced growth. “This could be the only alternative option as PRP along with medication cannot help much if the hair on the crown area has extensively thinned. No medication or PRP can bring back long and dense terminal hair without a hair transplant procedure on the crown area,” informed Dr John Watts. Nagarjuna Korlapati asks: Sir, I have been using Minoxidil but off late I am experiencing a headache. Please explain what I should do. In response to the above query by Nagarjuna Korlapati, Dr John Watts explained that it is normal if one experiences a headache lasting for one to two minutes as the symptom is self-limiting and diminishes on its own. However, Dr John Watts warned him to take it seriously if, for an entire day, one experiences a headache or notices any reddish inflammation on the scalp after using Minoxidil. “You should immediately stop using Minoxidil in such a scenario and consult your emergency physician. Later, you must consult your dermatologist and opt for aqueous based Minoxidil option,” advised Dr John Watts. In case even aqueous-based Minoxidil does not help and the same symptoms continue, he suggested the use of Redensyl or Procapil-based alternative formulations for hair growth. In this video session, Hyderabad's noted dermatologist & trichologist and one of the Best Hair Transplant Surgeons in Hyderabad, Dr John Watts answers select questions related to the efficacy of hair protein cream, hair loss and queries related to blood donation and its eventual link to hair loss. Dr John has performed over 2000+ hair transplant surgeries successfully. K Anand asks: Sir, I want to know if hair protein cream is good for my hair. Is it safe and good to use? Can you suggest me a safe and good protein cream for my hair? Please advise. Hair protein creams are beneficial for some people's hair but one should look at the ingredients used in the cream. Protein is good for hair and is an important element that helps strengthen and repair damaged hair. In response to the above queries by K Anand, Dr John Watts explained that generally hair protein creams are good but one should not blindly trust all such creams that are advertised in the market. “Besides hair protein creams, there are also some moisturising creams and hair masks that are also okay to use but the safety of such products should always be crosschecked and used under the supervision of a trained hair beautician,” informed Dr John Watts. However, Dr John Watts clarified that one should always look up to the expertise of a hair transplant surgeon or a dermatologist and not a spa expert or a beautician while dealing with questions related to hair loss treatment, baldness or other hair loss conditions. “A hairstylist knows best how to style your hair or which protein cream is good for bouncy hair but one should not trust their advice on anything that falls in the domain of a dermatologist,” advised Dr John Watts. Abhishek Abhi asks: Sir, I want to know if regular blood donation can lead to hair loss. Please advise. In response to the above query, Dr John Watts said that blood donation should be seen as a life-saving and noble act of a donor. He clarified that there was no scientific basis to link blood donation with hair loss, which is often triggered by a number of reasons such as genetics, nutritional deficiencies, vitamin deficiencies, chemical actions and hormonal imbalances. “Blood donation is not linked to hair loss. One can safely donate blood but every blood donor has to follow the protocol on such occasions such as following pre-donation checkups that checks the level of one's haemoglobin percentage. The blood donor also needs to follow a proper gap period between two blood donations so that it does not affect the donor's health,” informed Dr John Watts. In this video session, Hyderabad's noted dermatologist & trichologist and one of the Best Hair Transplant Surgeons in Hyderabad, Dr John Watts answers select questions related to PRP therapy as a solution for controlling hair thinning problems besides answering queries related hair building fibre. Dr John has performed over 2000+ hair transplant surgeries successfully. Nikhil asks: Sir, I have hair on my scalp but it is now thinning. I want to know if PRP therapy is a good solution to arrest this problem. Will this increase my hair density? Please explain. In response to the above queries by Nikhil, Dr John Watts explained that PRP therapy is a good solution for arresting hair thinning issues. PRP therapy will also increase hair density but there is a conditional factor. “PRP therapy may increase hair density provided you had dense hair earlier and it suddenly started thinning. The first thing to do is to diagnose what caused hair thinning by consulting a dermatologist,” advised Dr John Watts. He said that hair thinning can be attributed to nutritional and vitamin deficiencies or there could be other causes. “Once the cause is identified, one needs to take medications for treating the deficiencies. This along with PRP therapy can provide good results and may increase hair density,” informed Dr John Watts. GB Arun asks: Sir, for increasing hair density I am using hair-building fibre. I want to know if will it cause hair loss if I use it every day. Please explain. In response to Arun's queries, Dr John Watts explained that hair-building fibre can be used for increasing hair density if one faces uses like hair thinning or when one's scalp is visible. Hair-building fibre s also a good alternative to hair patches in case the latter becomes visible. “Using hair-building fibre is completely safe with no side effects. It will not lead to hair fall either,” said Dr John Watts. However, the noted hair transplant surgeon in Hyderabad cautioned that those using hair-building fibre should always maintain scalp hygiene and take a head wash before going to sleep every day. “You should let your hair dry and again the next morning, you can use the hair-building fibre,” advised Dr John Watts. Cool asks: Sir, I want to know if during PRP therapy what will happen if another person's blood is used during the treatment by mistake? Please explain. In response to the above query, Dr John Watts explained that using another's blood for PRP therapy can backfire as one should always use one's blood for the procedure. “It may lead to sensitivity reaction and cause inflammation on the scalp and face. In this video session, Hyderabad's noted dermatologist & trichologist and one of the Best Hair Transplant Surgeons in Hyderabad, Dr John Watts answers select questions related to receding hairlines and the use of alternative solutions like a derma roller. In another query, he addresses the concerns of an angioplasty patient with regard to the use of hair medications. Dr John has performed over 2000+ hair transplant surgeries successfully. Praveen asks: Sir, my hairline is receding. I want to know if at this juncture, should I opt for derma roller treatment instead of Minoxidil. Will it help? Please explain. In response to the above queries by Praveen, Dr John Watts explained that loss of hairline is the first indicator of the onset of baldness. “If Minoxidil does not suit you or cause allergic sensitivity or if you are not interested in using it, you may consider using derma roller treatment to arrest the further slide of your hairline,” answered Dr John Watts. However, he advised caution while using a derma roller. The first important point that needs to be kept in mind is to maintain gaps in two sessions by at least 20 days, informed Dr John. “One should not expect dense and long hair growth results with derma roller. It will only provide baby hair growth,” he said.

In this video session, Hyderabad's noted dermatologist & trichologist and one of the Best Hair Transplant Surgeons in Hyderabad, Dr John Watts answers select questions on hair medications and the consequences arising out of Minoxidil use and other related questions. He has performed over 2000+ hair transplant surgeries successfully. Mahendranath Reddy asks: Sir, I had undergone a hair transplant procedure two months ago. I have noticed loud heartbeats (Palpitations) after using Minoxidil post the hair transplant procedure. I do not know if this is happening out of fear or due to the use of Minoxidil. When I used Minoxidil before the surgery I had no such issues. Please explain. In response to the above queries by Mahendranath Reddy, Dr John Watts explained that palpitation can be caused by different reasons. it is possible that fear and anxiety can trigger palpitation. “This can be ruled out by consulting either a psychologist or a psychiatrist. But, if the problem persists, one must immediately stop using Minoxidil and immediately consult one's hair transplant surgeon for alternative hair medications or treatment protocol,” advised Dr John Watts. For alternative medications, Dr John Watts suggested Mahendranath Reddy can use Densita, Redensyl or Procapil serum for the hair. “Simultaneously, you should also consult a heart specialist to rule out any cardiac issues,” advised Dr John Watts to the patient. B Naveen asks: Sir, I cannot stand exposure to the sun for 15 minutes. It immediately causes itching on my scalp. What should I do? Please explain. In response to the above query by Naveen, Dr John Watts said that some people are sensitive to exposure to the sun's ultraviolet and infrared rays. “Though people of the Indian sub-continent have their skin conditioned to withstand sun exposure, some people find it difficult as their skin is very sensitive to the rays of the sun. Such people may experience itching-like issues,” informed Dr John Watts. He told Naveen that the best solution for him is to avoid exposure to the sun by taking a cover using a hard object like a cap or a hat. For women with the same problem, he suggested they use a stole. Trichos provides state-of-the-art treatment for various hair loss conditions and offers advanced hair transplant solutions. Raju Patel asks: Sir, I want to know if it is compulsory to wash my hair twice a day if I am using Minoxidil two times a day. Is a one-time head wash enough? What will happen if I apply Minoxidil in the evening without washing my hair? Will there be any consequences? Please explain. In response to the above queries by Raju Patel, Dr John Watts explained that it is scientifically proven that it is safe to use Minoxidil before cleaning one's scalp as it helps better absorption of the topical lotion into the hair roots. “One needs to rigorously rub one's scalp with shampoo to clean the hair but basic hair wash is enough. Once the hair is dry, Minoxidil lotion can be applied,” informed Dr John Watts. However, Dr John Watts said that those prescribed Minoxidil twice a day can apply Minoxidil the second time without a head wash if the scalp condition is dry and it is not oily. If there is oil formation or if there is a scaly formation due to the use of Minoxidil in the morning then it is unsafe to reapply Minoxidil the second time without a head wash first. “In such a scenario, reapplication of Minoxidil will have no use as it won't get absorbed into the scalp and hair roots easily. Hence, such patients need to take a head wash before Minoxidil application for better results,” advised Dr John Watts. If this important precaution is given a go-by, then the scalp health may get compromised and it may lead to inflammation eventually. Mohd Asif asks: Sir, I have used Growth Factor Concentrate (GFCs) three times so far along with hair medication. However, my hair fall continues unabated. I want to know if it is safe for me now to use Minoxidil to arrest hair fall. Please explain. In response to the above queries by Mohd Asif, Dr John Watts explained that it is generally found that using GFCs along with hair medication results in good hair growth. “By hair medication, Minoxidil is usually considered part of the prescribed hair medication but if it is not prescribed in your case you need to find out if you are dealing with any other issue by undergoing a blood test to arrive at a proper diagnosis for your hair fall,” advised Dr John Watts. Once the deficiencies are identified, proper treatment protocol as advised by your dermatologist should be followed. Whether to use or not use Minoxidil can be advised along with other medications based on the outcome of the test. “In general, taking proper treatment for hair fall control can bring results in two to two and half months,” informed Dr John. In this video session, Hyderabad's noted dermatologist & trichologist and one of the Best Hair Transplant Surgeons in Hyderabad Dr John Watts answers select questions on hair medication Minoxidil, Bio PRP and GFC. He has performed over 2000+ hair transplant surgeries successfully. Ranga Kumar asks: Sir, I have been using Minoxidil for the past two months. I want to know how many years I have to use it for good hair growth. Similarly, I want to know if there is any difference between Bio PRP and GFC or if both are the same. Please explain. In response to the above queries by Ranga Kumar, Dr John Watts explained that at least for good growth one needs to use Minoxidil lotion for at least 6-month period before his doctor can assess the results. “It is hardly two months since you started using Minoxidil. Hence, it is suggested you wait for four months more. After that your doctor will take a call based on the results,” informed Dr John Watts. Following the assessment after the end of 6 months, he may be either asked to continue the medication further or if the results are not good the dermatologist may increase the dosage of Minoxidil lotion for application. While explaining the difference between Growth Factor Concentrate (GFC) and Bio PRP, Dr John Watts said that both are different techniques. “In Bio PRP, Biotin serum is injected in the scalp along with PRP while GFC is an advanced form of PRP where only growth factor concentrate formed on the top layer of the PRP cells are used and injected in the scalp for promoting hair growth,” clarified Dr John Watts. So, which is a better technique? Explaining this, Dr John Watts said that there is no established scientific literature on Bio PRP but it is known to provide mixed results for the users. “Some get good results while others are not so fortunate,” said Dr John Watts. However, when it comes to GFC outcome, Dr John Watts said that it is a consistent technique and has been found to provide better results than normal PRP therapy. Conclusion: Though both Bio PRP and GFC provide good results, Dr John Watts advised viewers to follow caution while using the techniques. “One should at least opt for 6–8 sessions of either Bio PRP or GFC to get desired results while maintaining a gap of 20–21 days between each session,” advised Dr John Watts. This little three amino acid peptide has the power to transform the way your skin looks- it can prevent scar formation, speed up wound healing, and promote collagen production. But the benefits don't stop there… On this episode of the Biohacking Superhuman Performance, I'm joined by three guests: Dr. Suzanne Turner, who is a return guest on the podcast, and the founders and formulators of Vitali Skin Care, Debbi Barber and Terry Barber. We take a deep dive into copper peptides, and cover everything from the chemical function of these peptides to how they act on DNA. We also discuss the skin health benefits of copper peptides, plus the additional key ingredients in the Vitali Skin Care products that are making drastic transformations in people's skin. Debbi served as President of Direct Marketing Agency for 37 years, focusing on nonprofit marketing. She retired in 2018, but came out of retirement to start Vitali Skin Care and make quality, high performing skincare with copper peptides more readily available and affordable to a broader market. Dr. Susanne Turner is a physician, teacher, speaker, urban farmer, salsero powerlifter, wife, bonus mom, and a "Birdie" practicing human performance and longevity medicine in Atlanta, GA. She is a recognized expert in the field of cellular medicine and the use of peptides and hormones. She has served on the faculty of Emory University, A4M, SSRP, ACAM and BioTE, and has been a featured guest on shows like Superhuman Radio Network, Health Matters, Jay Campbell, and the Biohacking SuperHuman Performance. Terry has a career as an inspirational speaker, author and entrepreneur. What we discuss: 00:02:44 How Vitali Restoracell was started 00:07:39 What is the copper peptide? 00:14:03 How copper peptides can help fade scars 00:18:42 Is there a relationship between copper peptides and our own body stem cells? 00:24:25 Using derma rolling and red light in addition to copper peptides 00:28:33 Other key ingredients included in Vitali Restoracell products 00:31:21 How copper peptides act on DNA 00:41:13 What's the concentration of copper peptides in Vitali Restoracell products? 00:48:43 The main benefits of copper peptides for skin 00:53:51 What else can people do to protect their skin? Key Takeaways: According to Dr Turner, GHKCu (known as the copper peptide) could well be a Bioregulator as so they work by binding to DNA and turning on or turning off the genes that are related to youthfulness. When you are injured, your body sends out signals that there's damage to be repaired. Copper peptides help make your stem cells more likely to produce the growth factors that are needed to repair the damage of those cells. Using copper peptides consistently for long periods of time can help reduce the appearance of fine lines and repair the surface of the skin. #AskDrJohnWatts Anil Bylla asks: Sir, what is stem cell treatment? Will it promote hair growth? Please explain. In his response, Dr John Watts tells Anil Bylla that the term “stem cell treatment” when used in a hair growth context is different as one may otherwise equate it with high-tech genetic engineering to promote excess hair growth in a short time but it isn't. “The stem cells used for hair treatment are either extracted artificially or from guinea pigs. When applied as part of the hair growth treatment, the stem cells do not ensure long hair growth with prolonged anagen (growth) phase like normal hair,” explained Dr John. Dr John informed Anil that at the most one can notice the growth of baby hair with stem cell treatment. “Even stem cell treatment may not work for those who may be facing DHT-influenced genetic hair loss or baldness. However, they help in hair fall control to some extent,” he informed. Trichos provides state-of-the-art treatment for various hair loss conditions and offers advanced hair transplant solutions. #AskDrJohnWatts Anil V asks: Sir, is it necessary to use Minoxidil after undergoing a hair transplant procedure? Please explain. In his response, Dr John Watts tells Anil that it is not mandatory to use Minoxidil after a hair transplant procedure if the hair grafts are obtained from the back of the scalp which is usually DHT independent. “However, sometimes, it may be recommended for some patients after hair transplant as they improve the blood supply and help in the growth of hair,” said Dr John. #AskDrJohnWatts P Subbu asks: Sir if we are anaemic or are deficient in the blood-producing cells, will it affect our hair growth? Will this condition lead to hair fall? If yes, what are the solutions? Please advise. In his response, Dr John Watts tells Subbu that an anaemic condition can lead to hair fall if the blood deficiency is not treated by taking either iron-rich food or medication to supplement the deficiency. “There is also the possibility of baldness if the condition is not treated,” warned Dr John Watts. The usual symptoms of anaemia or low blood are the general feeling of weakness or feeling breathlessness and the experience of exertion while doing simple tasks. “As supplements, one can either take iron syrup or consume iron-rich food to make up the deficiency,” advised Dr John Watts. Then the next two topics are health related... we talk about before and after photos and if that's still a thing or not, and finally we talk intermittent fasting !! The very last thing we chat about is murder hornets and why they are IN and MISS RONA IS OUT. Honestly, I was drinking my quarantini throughout this whole episode, and I'm wondering if anything I said makes sense.... just kidding. In this episode we focus more on those larger bodies turning into small ones and the implications these photos leave behind. We had a chance to visit some of the Airbnb's and man; you have to come and visit at stay at some of the places whenever you get the chance! http://bonfiresofsocialenterprise.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/mr3.png () http://bonfiresofsocialenterprise.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/mr2.png () More Before and After Photos of the work of Motown Rising! http://bonfiresofsocialenterprise.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/mr1.png () For the full transcript- click below Read Full Transcript Introduction Welcome to another episode of the Bonfires of Social Enterprise. This is Romy, and we have Jacob De Golish from Motown Rising today! We have Luke Trombley on with a fun fuel and SleepyWondr with their song ‘Loving You' at the end. A talented line-up to be sure. This episode has a lot to do with building, construction, restoration and the skilled trades. Jacob will walk us through a large part of his journey, how he arrived in Detroit from Los Angeles and how he was inspired to hire men from the neighborhood for the transformation of homes. We had a chance to visit some of the Airbnb's and man; you have to come and visit at stay at some of the places whenever you get the chance! First, I would like to introduce a new voice to the podcast; Luke Trombley will be sharing some fun Fuels for the next few episodes. What do you have for us today, Luke? Hi! This is Luke Trombley and I am bringing you the fun fuel for this episode. While on the topic of construction, the great pyramids- while they're one of the seven wonders of the ancient world- are also one of the constructional wonders of the world. The pyramid is estimated to have around 2,300,000 stone blocks that weigh from 2 to 30 tons each and there are even some blocks that weigh over 50 tons. Also, if we tried to build an exact replica of this pyramid, it would not be possible. We do not have the precise technology that the ancient Egyptians had that was necessary to build this pyramid. I hope you enjoyed this fun fuel. Enjoy the Episode! Transition Thanks, Luke, that's great. We look forward to your fun fuels on the next several episodes. Let's get right to my interview with Jacob. I had the good fortune of interviewing him in person while sitting in one of his great properties. If you have a chance, we put some pictures in the show notes for this episode which you can access from the bonfires of social enterprise website. Back to the interview, let's listen in now…. Main Interview Jacob: Yeah, we're in one of the Airbnb properties in Detroit. Romy: Okay. Jacob: Yeah. Romy: So let's talk about Motown Rising then. What is Motown Rising as a social enterprise? Jacob: So, Motown Rising is a real estate company. We invest in real estate in Detroit, in one particular area at this point in time. We buy homes, rehab them and rent them out, so it's a holding company, and in the process we have a nonprofit and the social part of that is we hire people of the community, teach them skill trades of their choice, so they actually get paid to learn a skill trade. Romy: We're gonna come back to that. So it's a real estate and for some people that might not understand holding company, would you say you're buying homes and renovating them? Jacob: Yeah, so we buy homes, renovate them, and hold them and rent them out. Romy: Yeah, and sometimes for a longer term than just an overnight, right? Jacob: Right, oh yeah, long-term, we're looking at five to 10 years. Romy: Yeah, well great. So how did you even get started doing something like this? Jacob: Oh, man. So, originally born and raised in Los Angeles. I was a real estate flipper and a developer,
I asked what questions you had and you left all sorts of fun questions on the blog! So today I'm sharing the longest podcast yet, answering whatever you guys were wondering about. In todays' podcast you'll hear about getting back on track after the holidays, cleaning products, breast augmentation, how to stay organized, plateaus in CrossFit or overall fitness, sugar, and really anything else you guys thought up!! One thing I had many people ask was how I created recipes, how I learned to manage different flours, and how I come up with content regularly. So instead of answering that question in this long podcast, I thought I would do an entire podcast about that! So if you have any questions related to content on a blog or whatever else, let me know and I'll be happy to answer them next week on the podcast! And apologies if I missed your question! Sometimes I miss something on my end when I'm sorting through all the questions. But if I did miss yours and you'd like it answered, please just leave that question below and I'll answer you ASAP! Thank you guys so much for asking so many awesome questions, it really made for a fun podcast!! Juli Bauer: Hey guys! How’s it going? What’cha up to? {woofing} Jackson {laughs} Oh man. I got in trouble the other week because I kept telling Jackson not to chew on his bone, and a lot of people didn’t like that because you couldn’t hear it; but I thought you could, ok, so stop getting mad at me. Man, I got a couple of angry comments on iTunes, and people were just annoyed; it’s like, unprofessional. Hello; hello. If you’ve ever met, read my blog, you know I’m 100% unprofessional. Whatever. But people; this, I feel like I have to apologize for myself, but thankfully I’ll go to other people’s podcasts, and the reviews there; the podcasts I really like, like My Favorite Murder, or even Serial or Sword and Scale, and you’ll read the negative comments, and you’re like; ok, at least other people are getting negative comments. It’s not just me. But then you can’t respond to reviews, so this woman; Allison. Her name was Allison. She said that I complain about my supporters; and I’m not sure who I ever complained about. I think I complained about the people who talk about my weight on social media; I don’t consider those people “my supporters” because they’re talking sh*t about my weight. You know, trolls who are passing through. That’s what I consider those people. But I want to apologize for Allison; not that she’s listening to this podcast anymore, but I wanted to apologize to Allison that I came off that I was complaining about my supporters. That was not what I intended to. So kind of how My Favorite Murder has corrections corner every time; which I think came out with a new episode today. Score! But, you know they have corrections corner. So I’ll just have apologies corner for the people that I piss off. Apologize, Allison, that was not my intention. God bless. Moving on. I got a ton; like I asked people on the blog this week and in this last podcast that I did to just ask random questions. I’ve done this kind of podcast before, of just asking random stuff for people, and whatever questions you have. They could be about anything, and answering those,
