In this episode I discuss what it's like to be a savior to a partner instead of a helpmate. God called us to be a help mate but often times we come into a relationship & want to be savior . We want to fix them up, do all the things for them & play wife, when that is in fact the opposite of what God called us to do! check it out now … let's connect on ig: @healnglowco if you feel led to sow into this ministry : Venmo is Heal_glow11 Zelle is 646-429-2692 - Thank you !

Audio from our 2023 Shepherds Conference: Hope in God: Bearing the Burden of Ministry. Women's Breakout Session: "Helpmate to a Dispirited Husband" by Mary Lee Bayly & Sarah Dionne. October 5, 2023.Women's Breakout | Helpmate to a Dispirited HusbandMary Lee Bayly & Sarah DionneThe pastor has barely enough to give the church and comes home depressed most days. His children and wife only receive the leftover fumes, if any. Sometimes the deteriorating state of her husband's heart, mind, and faith concerns her. What is the wife to do when the burden of ministry is crushing her husband?Mrs. Mary Lee BaylyMary Lee is the wife of Tim Bayly and has been serving alongside him in ministry for 40 years. She is mother to five and grandmother to 28. She has cared for the women and children of their congregations, including spending many midnight hours as a doula to church mothers. Back in 1992 when the Baylys moved to Bloomington, there was no Christian school for her kids to attend, so she worked to found and served as a board member and principal for a decade of Bloomington's Lighthouse Christian Academy.Mrs. Sarah DionneSarah Dionne used to wear high heels and rhinestones, but 24 years ago she traded those in for more sensible attire, so she could marry Andrew Dionne and tackle the raising of their 6 children. This year 2 of her children are off to college, 3 will attend a local Christian school, and 1 will be homeschooled. When she is not doing laundry or packing lunches, she enjoys serving the women at Trinity Presbyterian Church in SC, teaching voice lessons, and reading books way too quickly so she can get to the plot. For more information on New Geneva Academy's pastoral training program visit our website: www.newgenevaacademy.comNGA email sign-up ★ Support this podcast ★

When it comes to your relationship is your partner or companion a helpmate? Do you feel supported or safe? Is your partner providing appropriate guidance or assistance or could it be that you are perhaps wasting your time? When it comes to a relationship many individuals have their own perception as to how a relationship should be. Many individuals often minic the relationships that they saw from others including their family members or parents. Comparing your relationship with another can be dangerous. However, having a helpmate can be a wonderful thing. Join myself and others as we talk about being a helpmate. There is always room for growth. I want to hear your thoughts.
Genesis 2: Say's, "It's Not Good for man to be alone" - Thus God said He would make a Help Meet... Those English words hold little of the expression of what Eve would be. The Hebrew however gives us much to wonder about....
Liz and Shelsea are not sure if Eve should be in the category of Old Testament Bad Girls. Do you think Eve gets a bad rap? Tune in to hear the conversation.

The Bible is NOT speaking of worldly men, it is referencing Holy men of God. We are not to be a part of the world, therefore God is speaking of Godly men, not ungodly men. How can men who don't know Christ or who understands how Christ loves the church, know it is how a HOLY man is supposed to love his wife? That's why the scripture is talking about Godly men NOT just any man.

In this episode of The Epic Journey Podcast, Sonny and Cindy discuss and define what the epic and heroic journey of marriage means. Your marriage is epic and heroic and you were created to be heroes and warriors as you live out Gods plan for your marriage. Be encouraged and strengthened as you learn more of Gods word and take the next steps into the wilderness, one step at a time. Our 2B1 Life Marriage Manifesto begins with this statement of belief: We believe that marriage is an epic and heroic journey through the wilderness with God while we are here on this earth. We believe the journey doesn't stop when we are done on earth, but the journey is directing us heavenward. Philippians 3:14 I press on to the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. Merriam/Webster Dictionary Epic - Essential Meaning of epic 1 : a long poem that tells the story of a hero's adventures Homer's ancient Greek epic "The Odyssey" 2 : a long book, movie, etc., that usually tells a story about exciting events or adventures Ephesians 2:10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared ahead of time for us to do. Holman Christian Standard Bible The word workmanship in the original Greek is the word poeima. The word poeima means “that which is made, something fashioned, crafted together, someone's' workmanship, as in a masterpiece.” From poeima, comes the word poem and poetry. You dear friends, are Gods' poem, Gods' masterpiece. You are epic. Isaiah 43:1 Now this is what the Lord says, the one who created you, O Jacob, and The One who formed you, Israel – “Do not fear; for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name; YOU ARE MINE. So, we would expand the definition of epic to say that we have each been uniquely created by God to be His Epic Poem (of heroic adventures) and masterpiece. Definition of hero (Entry 1 of 3) 1a : a mythological or legendary figure often of divine descent https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/endow (endowed) with great strength or ability b : an https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/illustrious (illustrious) warrior c : a person admired for achievements and https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/noble#h1 (noble) qualities d : one who shows great courage Joshua 1:9 God is speaking to Joshua and encouraging him in His leadership and the battle he is getting ready to live out…. Haven't I commanded you: be strong and courageous? Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” The word Heroic describes the hero as strong and courageous. The definition of heroic is: of or relating to courageous people Gals…..you are married to a hero! You are married to a champion! You are married to the one designed by God and a masterpiece!!! Partnering with God, with each other, and with others that are like minded, believers seeking Gods best for your marriage is heroic. Journey : something suggesting travel or passage from one place to another Our marriage is designed to be an unstoppable force for good through this journey through the wilderness and heavenward!!! Genesis 2:18 Then the Lord God said, “It is not good for man to be alone. I will make a helper corresponding to Him.” I found a great article about this by Mikella VanDyke, chasingsacred.com, The true definition of the word Helpmate, and she does a great job at explaining this. In Hebrew, the word helper or helpmate is derived from two words, ezer and k'enegdo. The word Ezer appears in the Bible 21 times. The word ezer is used to describe women, also used in reference to military support, and many times in reference to God's help in saving His people. God uses the same word to describe women as helper that He uses to describe himself!!! The word ezer is used to describe a saving and strong presence and is continually used to describe military aid in battle. “Therefore, many interpretations of
In this episode, Sonata speaks about the negative stigma on being a helpmate and the honor of being a true helpmate.
'ezer kenegdo means equal partners. Neither partner is more equal than the other in Genesis 2 according to God's plan in Creation.

This show is about the beauty of a wife in her role as helpmate. This does not sound so dramatic, until you realize the role Joyce took with Bloodgood vs. the role she was used to having previously in show business. It is an incredible testimony for the wife of today's world to realize that, when you humble yourself and operate in God's calling, it not only benefits your husband, but who knows how many other people. This is a real-life story of that very thing. But you will also learn how, although she was not in a role she was used to, God “trained her” for this moment. Not only did He train her, but He elevated her to another role that, as Les says, “That's Jesus.” Do not miss this episode! This was the continuation of the first part of our interview with Christian rock legend and Bloodgood front-man, Les Carlsen and his wife, Joyce. We want you involved! Have you ever been at the bottom of an extremely long or curving stairwell? There's no way you'll get to the top without taking that first step. This week, Kaysi and I share what it means to have true wealth, one step at a time. Wealth is not the balance in your bank account; wealth is more a measure of where you are spiritually, emotionally, and financially. Each of these 3 key areas require intentionality. Each area requires one step at a time. As Kaysi and I chat about her dog Marshmellow (yes, that's the proper spelling for this podcast!), we tackle how peer pressure, compromise, and trying (aka failing) relate to parenting and finances. Remember, investing in YOU is not a "one shot wonder". Yet, it is possible to move from where you are to where you envision yourself going, one intentional step at a time.Wondering if step-parent coaching is right for you? Listen along as Tim tackles a difficult topic concerning the relationship of the husband and the wife. Is the wife a “helpmate”? The word is not in the Bible, but let's take a look canonically at the actual word used by Moses in Genesis.
Ahmad & Toya share: 10:10 When a man tells you he's not ready. Respecting it even if you are disappointed. Honesty really is the best policy over ghosting and the lies, especially on the man's part even if she hates you for it. It lays the foundation. 15:00 Men tend to be retrospective in nature on these matters. Don't mess up her good thing if you're not ready. 17:40 The relationship-job analogy. People can follow the work protocols of 2 week notices to maintain a good relationship. The same mentality should be in effect with relationships. Be willing to have honest conversation and give fair notice vs. allowing drama to damage the relationship. 18:27 Reconnecting on chance after 1 year. 22:50 Friendship is the best part of being married. Fighting for vs. against each other when things go south. Your best friend is the person you marry. Breaking out of the “yes” men circle (family and loved ones) and taking an honest look at self, going beyond the surface of dates and vacations. Growing in marriage. It can make you a better person. 24:00 Transitioning your mindset to serving your spouse. Almost divorcing. It takes both spouses working on self for marriage to work. Battling the culture you grew up in. 28:50 Don't floss. Be the same person you presented yourself to be while pursuing each other and be prepared to grow from there. Don't have your spouse wondering who they married. 30:47 Men talk on communication and flossing. Most women want authenticity and to feel needed. Get rid of the representative. Authority impresses the (right) woman who sees a partnership. Women are willing to get their hands dirty and put in the work too. Men need to stop letting pride get in the way of a woman helping. End toxic masculinity that's killing to love between men and women. A woman is a HELPMATE. There's nothing wrong with help because no one accomplishes anything by themselves. 34:55 Importance of being intentional about rebuilding marriage. Intentional Bible study and family conferences to check in with each other. Intentional questions. Building friendship back up. Making things align in your marriage and modeling your marriage for success goes beyond checking couple stuff off your couple to-do list. 59:54 Her submission is a treasure, a gift and no man is entitled to any gift. What environment are you setting up for her to feel safe and trusting of your leadership. When a man finds his good thing that becomes his world. Be the man who creates the environment for his wife to rest. The adoption analogy to marriage. Pre-marital sex (don't do it!). Defining submission in marriage (it's an US mentality and you can't force it). Cook's helper or Partner? In Genesis 2, when God creates the woman, she is described in relation to the man. In two Hebrew words packed full of meaning, ‘ezer kenegdo, God describes how the two are designed to go together. They are made for each other, just hours apart. Once together, they are to be a resourceful and satisfied pair, at home together in Eden.Modern language versions of the Bible translate these two Hebrew words in confusing and contradictory ways. But there really is no cause for confusion. The two words in Genesis 2:18 are not that hard to translate. An ‘ezer kenegdo is someone who is equal, a counterpart, one who works together with another as they help each other through sharing their strengths.GO DEEPER!

S3E12: REAL MEN WASH DISHES: In this episode, The Poet ~Walter LaRaye gives his two cents on real men washing dishes to help their spouse. It is important that all men take the time to make sure that they are cleaning their homes. Washing dishes is a subtle gesture to your spouse that you care about them and appreciate them for cooking for the family. A woman really should not have to cook and clean, it is a good team builder when the family can chip in and assist the woman, wife, mother of the house. These things that we do to help our spouse takes the anxiety away from them. So help them to help you. Gems from The Poet ~Walter LaRaye. I like to thank everyone for streaming our shows. Marriage: A Helpmate Fit For Him
Are you with your soul mate or perhaps wasting your time? If you believe that you are with that special one let's talk about it. Relationships can be very complicate. Yet when it comes to knowing if the time invested is worth it or if the person is your soul mate can be very confusing. Some individuals have been in a relationship with another for a very long time while another can meet an individual and immediately say they are with their soul mate. It is believed that ones soul mate should be that individual that will be the person with whom you would want to spend the rest of your life with. However a soul mate may not be necessarily somebody with whom it is always fun to be with or even someone with whom there is an intense attraction. The person may not always fit ones picture of the ideal partner, nor do they always make one feel joyful and ecstatic. A soul mate is someone with whom you will discover the depts of what and who is in your soul. This to me does not sound like a fun relationship. And the relationship can also present it's share of challenges. What we see in our soul may not always be easy to fully embrace, but it is just who they are. While a soul mate may not satisfy all of ones desire. They bring into ones life what is needed in order to help withthe inner and interpersonal work that is needed for one to experience wholeness in oneself and a greater connectivity with others. Join me and my guest along with the callers as we explore this interesting topic. Live 3/26/18 12pm Pacific.

While husbands and fathers have been given primary responsibility for the leadership of their families including their children, wives and mothers are to be "workers at home," meaning manager of the household. Their home and their children are to be their priority—in contrast to the feminist emphasis today on careers and jobs for women outside the home--a role reversal that goes against God's ideal plan. Now, don't misunderstand what I am saying here. There is nothing wrong with women working outside the home unless it conflicts with the biblical responsibilities they have in managing the home.
When we establish righteous habits, we will do them without even thinking! So let us become educated to the righteous will of God concerning our roles as men and women, then we can lay out goals to change what is out of order in our life, and by God’s grace establish right habits that bring glory to our Creator!
Each role in the family unit—Husband, Wife, and Children—teaches us something about God’s ideal in the organization of the church. We began looking at the roles and responsibilities of the family unit with the understanding that church duties first begin at home. One of the greatest problems in the family firm today, marriage specifically, is that the differences between the male and the female have only been taught from a pure physical point of view... mainly an evolutionary based view. The truth that God created man and woman with more than physical differences is not taught much at all in the world and very little in the church--not in any detail. Accepting such a cultural fallacy is one of the greatest failings of the church and thus a major cause in the dysfunction of the family unit.
Tonight I want to talk about defining your life partner. What do you want in a life partner? Do you need to be married? We will look at some areas that have been problems in marriages and see how we can set up some boundaries so we can be able to recognize patterns, behaviors, expressions - ways that people really express themselves, sometimes when they don't even know that they are telling you things about themselves! Body language, ability to be close, touching, listening. www.mrrightforme.com www.marcyann.com

I heard you. The unfortunate thing was that the title of the book, when viewed from across a subway car, can seem offensive. […]

Sure, the Bible says God created woman to be a "helpmate" for man, but what does that mean? And, why does God call Himself by the same title?
If you think divorce in your mind then you have committed divorce in your heart. Divorce is very serous in this country. God made man a help mate and as you grow in marriage you get a revelation as to why God brought you together.
