In this episode: Why the ten blue links era of the internet is ending The shift from search to ask, and what it means for discovery What AI is actually rewarding now (and why volume is no longer the moat) The Interpretation Gap: the silent reason smart founders are being skipped The ChatGPT client story that made this real for Monique What Google announced at I/O and the one line of news nobody is talking about Why smaller, clearer experts are now outranking bigger, vaguer brands The new definition of a brand: retrieval infrastructure, not marketing asset Who wins the next era of the internet, and who quietly disappears Quotes worth pulling: "People stopped searching. They started asking." "AI is not reading your content the way a human fan does. It is trying to categorize you." "A smaller but clearer expert can now beat a bigger but vaguer brand. That has never been true before." "Your brand is not just a marketing asset anymore. It is retrieval infrastructure." "The people who win next are not the loudest. They are the clearest." Next week on the podcast: Monique sits down with Carol Cox, founder of Speaking Your Brand, whose business is already 20 to 25 percent ChatGPT-referred. About this episode Emma Grede has been a billion-dollar consumer brand operator for almost a decade. She co-founded Good American with Khloé Kardashian. She's a founding partner of SKIMS, currently valued at $5 billion. She sits on the Obama Foundation board. She's on the Forbes list of America's Richest Self-Made Women. And until April 14, 2026 - per WWD - she was, quote, "for the most part, an enigma." Two weeks later, she's everywhere. This isn't a hot-take episode. This is a strategic breakdown of what Emma Grede actually did - the four moves, the engineered soundbites, the year of infrastructure she built before the launch - and why most accomplished women won't run the same play. Plus a real-time announcement: Monique is writing her first book and searching for the right literary agent, in public, on this podcast. What you'll learn The four moves Emma Grede executed in 14 days (and why each one is reproducible at smaller scale). Why "I'd be more worried if nobody was talking" is the most important sentence of the entire book tour. The trade between being quotable and being safe - and why softening your take is what's keeping you uncirculated. Why most accomplished women won't run this play, even when they have the receipts to. And the smaller version of the play you can run starting this week. Chapters 00:00 - Cold open: the woman everyone's talking about 01:30 - Who Emma Grede was six months ago 04:30 - What she did in 14 days 08:00 - The four moves (infrastructure, soundbite, discourse, consistency) 12:00 - Why Team Emma on the three-hour mom take 14:00 - Why your audience won't do it 16:00 - The smaller version - and the book announcement 18:30 - Close + CTA Memorable quotes "The book is not the story. The book is the artifact." "Emma Grede let herself be misunderstood on purpose. She held an opinion strong enough to travel. That is the trade." "I am tired of people telling mothers how to do anything." "The fight is the marketing. The conversation is the distribution. Emma Grede understood that her job was not to win the debate. Her job was to be the debate." "I'm not waiting until I have a deal to tell you this. The visibility of the search is part of the strategy." Resources mentioned The free AI Visibility Audit. The Cost of Building in Private (And Why AI Won't Recommend You)

About this episode If you've ever called yourself "the best-kept secret" in your industry and felt a little proud of it - this episode is the reframe you've been avoiding. Monique Bryan unpacks why building in private has quietly become a positioning liability, especially now that AI tools like ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google's AI overviews are deciding who gets recommended based on public-facing authority signals. If you don't have a paper trail, you're not in the answer. This is not a content-strategy episode. This is an authority-strategy episode. The takeaway is sharper, smaller, and harder to ignore: you don't need to post more. You need to exist more. What you'll learn Why "best-kept secret" is a visibility problem dressed up as a virtue The three real costs of building in private: referrals, AI recommendations, and positioning How AI discovery works in 2026, and what authority signals actually feed it Why fixing your Discovery layer (SEO, content, ads) doesn't work when the breakdown is at Presence and Association The Authority Stack framework, explained in under a minute Three concrete re-entry moves to close the gap in 30 days - one room, one asset, one conversation Chapters 00:00 - Cold open: building in private isn't a strategy, it's a hiding spot 01:30 - The "best-kept secret" trap 05:00 - Why we hide: polish, perfectionism, and ADHD 09:00 - The three real costs: referrals, AI, and positioning 13:00 - What "building in public" actually means (it's not posting) 14:30 - The Authority Stack, explained 16:00 - Three moves to close the gap this month 18:30 - Close + the question worth sitting with Memorable quotes "Being the best-kept secret means the people who need you most don't know you exist. That's not humility. That's a visibility problem dressed up as a virtue." "Restraint wasn't discipline for me. It was decay." "AI doesn't know you're the best-kept secret. It just knows you're not there." "You don't need to post more. You need to exist more. Posting is output. Existing is positioning. One takes energy every day. The other compounds." "You can't claim a position nobody knows you hold." Resources mentioned The Visibility Audit - 10-minute diagnostic, no call. [ACCESS IT HERE] [08:30] What to do next   Transcript: Welcome to Who Knows You, the podcast for experts and founders who are done blending in. Here we talk about authority, AI discovery, and what it really takes to become the go-to in your space. Not just to the people in the room, but to the systems now deciding who gets recommended. I'm Monique Brian. Let's get into it. What's up? What's up, everybody? All right, so I want to talk to you about a call I had recently. I've been doing a lot of reconnecting lately, reaching out to people from my past, people in my audience, letting everybody know where I'm at now because things have shifted. Hello, new podcast. So, some people have been asking me, Mon'nique, do you still do personal branding? And I tell them, brand and authority are at the DNA of everything that I do. I couldn't get away from it if I tried. That has not changed. What's changed is the way I get it out there. It's the chosen instrument called AI. So, the way you get to be out here on repeat while you're sleeping, AI makes that possible. And the way people experience you when you're not in the room is has always been something that I have preached from the hilltops. Now, I'm talking more about visibility in a different way, right? And that way is called AEO, answer engine optimization. So how you're being discovered and being recommended by the systems out here, the AI machines, not just people. That's my new everything because with the time when the times be changing, you change with the times. So visibility is still the goal. It's just wearing a different outfit. So I'm on this call and I could tell pretty quickly that this person was using AI, but like very surface level and a few things like they were doing a few things with Claude here and there and I'm thinking well okay let me share what I've been doing let me show them how I've been helping people build assets that live beyond them that sort of thing so things that can work without you having to be in the room like how do you make these amazing client experiences and as I'm describing it I could feel like the resistance coming up she kept kind of like pushing back a little a little bit and then I then she said something that like totally floored me. She said, "Well, we should probably just wait and see. AI might be a fad and I was like, "What?" Oh, sorry. I was like, "What is going on?" I'm still in shock. So, I almost fell off my chair. So, I'm sure if you went back and like we watched the discovery call, like my face said everything that I didn't say like verbally on the call. So, here's Here's what I want you to know. I am not in the business of convincing anyone. And that's okay. We all are at different places. We are all at different levels of adoption. And wherever you are at on that curve, you are. And there's no shade in any of that. I'm not here to drag anybody one way or the other. But but but if you are still listening to this episode right now, you already know You know, things have shifted and maybe you don't know exactly where it's all going, like none of us do. It's moving way too fast to be definitive in where this is going to land. But you can feel the change in the direction. And here's what history has tells us about the change of the direction. Every single time a technology came along that could save people money and time and replace any form of labor, We eventually all got on board. Some got on board quickly, some got on board way down the line, but it happens every single time. The printing press, electricity, the telephone, the internet, email, the smartphone. Nobody looks back and calls those fads. Because here's how human beings actually work. We resist. We then we debate. We wait. And we see and then then we realize it saves us time and makes us money then we adopt it every time without exception. AI is not different. The only variable is when you get in and this isn't about being an early adopter for the sake of it. It's not about having the latest tools or building the most complicated system. It's about understanding that AI is already in the room. It's already being asked who to recommend. It's already forming an opinion about who you are and what you do based on whatever signal you have out here online. Whether you like it or not, that's exactly who this show is for. So, the question isn't is AI here to stay? The question is When AI is asked about you, what does it say? Boom. That's all I have to say about that, people. Oh my gosh, I almost knocked over my iPad, my my tripod, and the iPod, and and the freaking MacBook. That's it for today's episode of Who Knows You. If this hit close to home, your next app is the Authority Leak Audit. It's a free diagnostic that shows you exactly where your positioning is breaking down and what to fix. Is building a personal brand in 2026 about going viral—or about making money? Are you chasing followers, or are you building something that actually monetizes? In this solo episode, Dr. Lauryn tackles one of the biggest misconceptions in the online space right now: the idea that more visibility automatically equals more income. If you've felt confused by conflicting advice about niching down, being relatable, or “just posting whatever you want,” this conversation will clear the air.Dr. Lauryn breaks down the two primary paths to growing a personal brand—follower-first vs. monetization-first—and explains why they are not the same. She dives into why outdated advice no longer works in 2026, how to identify your true audience, how to connect personal storytelling to your niche, and why engagement and trust matter more than vanity metrics. If you're a healthcare provider or business owner looking to build authority without burning out, this episode is your strategy reset.Key Takeaways:Followers vs. Revenue Is a Strategic Choice: Growing a large audience does not automatically lead to sales. A monetization-first personal brand strategy prioritizes solving a specific problem for a defined audience rather than chasing viral metrics.Niching Down Is About Focus, Not Limitation: In today's saturated digital landscape, breaking through requires clarity. A well-defined niche builds trust, improves engagement, and accelerates authority in competitive online markets.Personal Brand in 2026 Requires Integration: The era of separate “professional” and “personal” accounts is fading. Trust is built when your story, your expertise, and your mission are cohesively connected.Your Ideal Audience Is a Past Version of You: You don't invent your niche—you uncover it. The most powerful brands are built by serving the version of yourself who once struggled with the same challenges.ResourcesFollow Dr. Lauryn: Instagram | X | LinkedIn | FacebookFollow She Slays on YouTubeSign up for the Weekly Slay newsletter!Mentioned in this episode:Learn more about Sunlighten Saunas and get your She Slays discount by clicking the link below! She Slays Associates Job BoardTo learn more about CLA and the INSiGHT scanner go to the link below and enter code SHESLAYS when prompted.CLA

Have you ever wondered why your content isn't converting into clients?  The answer might be that posting is not the same as selling. Today's guest breaks down how to build an online personal brand that attracts attention and a sales pipeline that closes deals. Danielle Cevallos is the President of The Conviction Marketing Agency, The Advance Innovation Society, and Kelly Roach International. With a background in psychology, education, and copywriting, Danielle has helped scale multiple 7- and 8-figure brands.  In this episode, she breaks down how she empowers entrepreneurs to create profitable, impactful personal brands – and how you can do the same. Why LinkedIn Could Be Your Biggest Growth Channel If you're tired of chasing likes on Instagram, take a page from Danielle's playbook. She used LinkedIn to intentionally grow her agency by filling her audience with only ideal clients, welcoming them with simple DMs, and starting real conversations.  Instead of fighting tricky algorithms, she focused on building a network of the right people. The fact is: You don't need to go viral. You need a system that attracts and nurtures the exact clients you want. Why Posting Alone Won't Close Deals Think your content will do all the selling for you? Danielle learned that's rarely the case. Marketing grabs attention, but sales happen when you follow up, ask clear questions, and keep conversations alive. She talks about her complete pipeline: qualifying leads, nurturing them with content, and then asking for the sale when the timing is right.  One of her clients took two years of consistent follow-up before finally investing $30K.  For you, the lesson is simple: don't give up too early. Keep showing up until your prospect is ready. Enjoy this episode with Danielle Cevallos… Soundbytes 21:27 - 21:37 “I never, ever pitched anything, ever. Casual conversations over lunch or dinner, and then that would lead to a call, and then that would lead to a client.” 27:01 - 27:12 “I once nurtured a client for two years before they became a client. And, now, I think they've spent over 30k with us to date, and they still will do more.” Quotes “So if there's been a problem with everyone they have ever worked with, it's not the agency, it's the client.” “You need to create an ecosystem where they're seeing you all over.” Links mentioned in this episode: From Our Guest Website: https://convictionmarketingagency.com/  Virtual Business School (Use Code Rachel40): https://go.virtualbusinessschool.com/joinvbs?am_id=danielle1533  Connect with Danielle Cevallos on LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/danielle-cevallos/  Connect with brandiD Find out how top leaders are increasing their authority, impact, and income online. Authentic personal branding has never been more important—or more misunderstood. In an era where AI-generated content floods the internet and social media algorithms reward superficial engagement, how can entrepreneurs, founders, and creators cut through the noise and actually connect? That's the question at the heart of this powerful episode of Fordify LIVE! The Business Growth Show, featuring internationally acclaimed filmmaker, spoken word artist, and entrepreneur Prince EA. If you've ever wondered how to build a brand that resonates on a human level, this episode is for you. Prince EA joins Ford Saeks to unpack the mindset and methods behind his global influence, including what it takes to turn passion into purpose, and how authenticity is the greatest differentiator in the marketplace today. With over 2 billion views across his platforms, Prince EA doesn't just talk about authentic personal branding—he lives it. Throughout the episode, Ford and Prince dive into the essential shift from making content to making connection. They explore how intentional storytelling rooted in emotion, clarity, and vulnerability can elevate not only your brand, but your impact. Whether you're a founder, executive, or creator, the conversation reinforces that your most powerful asset isn't a marketing budget or production quality—it's your voice, your story, and your willingness to show up with purpose. Prince EA shares insights into his journey from aspiring musician to viral content creator, and how that pivot came from focusing less on self-promotion and more on service. That mindset is the foundation of authentic personal branding. It's not about being everywhere—it's about being real wherever you are. And as Prince points out, real connection can't be outsourced, delegated, or replicated by automation. Ford adds his own experience working with businesses around the world, emphasizing how too many leaders skip the step of building a genuine brand voice. Together, they highlight that in a world where AI can do almost everything, the human element—empathy, creativity, and clarity—becomes your competitive advantage. The episode doesn't just talk high-level branding theory. It gets into the practical realities of content strategy, digital influence, and the role of platforms like YouTube in building long-term brand equity. From viral video structure to leveraging emotion without manipulation, the conversation is rich with real-world wisdom that can shift how you approach your business and brand immediately. What makes this episode truly powerful is the reminder that authenticity isn't a tactic—it's a commitment. It's about aligning your message, your mission, and your medium. Authentic personal branding isn't just about standing out. It's about standing for something—and allowing that clarity to guide your decisions, content, and communication. Whether you're just starting out or looking to amplify your message in a crowded market, this episode offers a refreshing take on what it means to build influence that lasts. Prince EA's grounded insights paired with Ford's business growth strategies deliver a conversation that's both inspiring and actionable. Don't miss this impactful episode with Prince EA. It will challenge the way you think about branding, influence, and the value of showing up as your full self in business and beyond. Watch the full episode on YouTube. Have you ever wondered how your family's history, secrets, or unspoken experiences might shape who you are today? In this episode of It's a Mindset, I'm joined by Michelle Scheibner, a thought leader in Personal Brand Strategy and author of Hush, a memoir that explores the intersection of history, culture, beliefs, and genetics to uncover the truth of where our personal identity begins. Michelle has spent over 30 years working with executives, C-suite leaders, and business owners, and she now focuses on how family history and genetics influence our life choices and identity. Michelle's career journey took her from education to leadership roles at AMEX UK, where she honed her business development skills. But in recent years, Michelle shifted her focus toward exploring the deep connection between personal identity, family history, and genetics. Her research reveals how our family systems, history, culture, and beliefs shape our identities, often in ways we don't fully realise. In this episode, we'll discuss how your personal brand is not just about your career, but about finding and understanding your essence. Michelle shares how grief can trigger questions about identity, the pivotal role mothers play in shaping our lives, and what epigenetics can teach us about how family influences us. We also explore the importance of understanding your past to unlock your potential for the future. Key Episode Takeaways: Personal brand is about finding your essence – Your personal brand, whether for career or personal growth, is a reflection of who you are, not just what you do. Cultivating it starts with understanding yourself at a deeper level. Grief can trigger unanswered questions – Grieving not just losses but also unresolved questions about your life's path can unlock your true identity. Epigenetics and the role of family in shaping personal identity – Our genetics and family systems influence not only our decisions and life choices but also our personal identity. Understanding the pivotal role of mothers as our first relationship can reveal the deep impact they have on how we view ourselves and how we show up in the world. The importance of understanding your past for your present and future – Investing in understanding your past allows you to use that knowledge to shape your future. As someone who's navigated my own journey of understanding identity and the impact of family history—especially through my travels to the UK and Netherlands, where I have heritage—I deeply relate to Michelle's work. Her insights are eye-opening and will challenge how you view your personal growth and future possibilities. About the Guest: Michelle's commitment to bringing the most current thought leadership to Personal Brand Strategy, led her to an enquiry into the ways family secrets and silence, intergenerational pain and genetics impacts our life choices and personal identity. Michelle's career began in education before heading to England where she cut her business teeth at the headquarters of AMEX UK, Europe, Middle East and Africa. Having held management and leadership positions in education, consulting and business development Michelle has spent the last 30 years working with executives including C-Suite, business leaders and high potentials. Michelle has spent the last four years researching and exploring the proposition that we come into the world with a genetic blueprint integral to the system of our family of origin, which ultimately can impact the decisions and choices we make in life. Her story illustrates the intersection of history, culture, beliefs and genetics to reveal where true identity resides. She has a published TEDx Talk on the validity of personal identity labels. Are you struggling to grow your business and wondering how to stand out in a crowded marketplace? In today's competitive environment, building a strong personal brand has become an essential tool for entrepreneurs, leaders, and business owners to differentiate themselves and drive growth. Personal branding goes beyond having a logo or a website—it's about building a reputation that resonates with your audience and establishes trust. In this episode of Fordify LIVE, Rory Vaden, co-founder of Brand Builders Group, dives into the critical role that personal branding plays in business growth and long-term success. Personal branding is not just for influencers or celebrities; it's a powerful asset for any business leader looking to expand their reach. Rory emphasizes that people don't just buy products or services—they buy into the people behind them. Your personal brand serves as the bridge between who you are and the value you provide to your audience. If you're looking to build a brand that attracts the right clients and generates more opportunities, the discussion with Rory outlines why focusing on personal branding is one of the smartest moves you can make for your business. One of the key challenges business owners face is finding clarity in their messaging. Rory's insights into personal branding highlight the importance of defining your unique value and being intentional about how you communicate it. By focusing on your core message, your personal brand can become a powerful tool for cutting through the noise and connecting with the people who matter most to your business. It's not about being everything to everyone, but rather, being clear about who you are and what you stand for. When your personal brand reflects your authentic self, it becomes a magnet for clients, customers, and opportunities. Rory also discusses how building a personal brand goes hand in hand with credibility. It's one thing to have expertise, but it's another to communicate it effectively to the right audience. A strong personal brand does just that—it signals authority, trust, and reliability. Rory shares how even the most successful entrepreneurs and executives invest in personal branding as a way to continually build their influence and create lasting connections with their audience. Your personal brand is the key to establishing a strong professional presence that positions you as a leader in your industry. In addition to building credibility, personal branding also accelerates business growth by creating a foundation for long-term relationships. When people trust your brand and believe in your message, they're more likely to remain loyal and recommend your services to others. Rory explains how personal branding is not a one-time effort; it's an ongoing process of refining your message, expanding your reach, and consistently delivering value. This approach leads to exponential growth, as your personal brand continues to evolve and attract more opportunities over time. The conversation with Rory underscores the importance of personal branding as a strategic investment in your business. As more entrepreneurs recognize the value of branding themselves, those who take the time to build their personal brand now will be better positioned to grow their influence and achieve long-term success. By honing in on your story, your message, and the value you bring to the table, you can create a brand that not only drives business growth but also sets you apart from the competition. Your personal brand is the foundation of your business. As such, it is how you control the perception others have of you. Therefore, your style is part of your personal brand strategy. There are many facets to your personal brand and the perception others have of you. When creating a personal brand strategy, your style must be a consideration. Whether in corporate or as an entrepreneur, your style influences what people think of you as a personal brand. Yoru personal brand strategy will help you differentiate yourself from others in your area of expertise. Your style, the clothes you wear and how you wear them, helps differentiate you. When you look good you feel better It can be said that when you look good you feel good and vice versa, when you feel good you look good. It takes discipline to care for yourself. But when you do, people notice compliment you and you will feel more confident. Confidence and image are internal and external. When you put effort in, and feel like you have nailed your brand image, people give positive feedback, and you feel more confident. This becomes a cycle and influences many aspects of your life. Your style is part of your personal brand strategy. You must dress for success, not matter your body type. Once you know the styles and silhouettes that fit your body well, it makes choosing clothes easier. As women, your body shape changes over time. Stop judging your body shape that you have today and learn how to dress for it. It is confidence boosting to know that your outfit is going to flatter your body and help you look great. When you know what fits well and looks great, you can focus less time and energy on selecting outfits and more energy on having an impact with your clients. You are not an apple or a pear and there is nothing wrong with your body. Instead of focusing what you'd like to change, learn to dress for your body so that you start your day with confidence and feeling ready to accomplish what's before you. What's your favorite feature? Accentuate it! Select your favorite feature and come up with ways to accentuate that feature as you dress for your personal brand. Dressing yourself this way, you will notice how great this feature looks and give you more confidence and you will feel freer. It is important to talk to yourself with kindness, being gentle with your body, instead of focusing on what others have said to you in the past. Your personal brand is the foundation of your business, so a personal brand strategy must be a priority if you want to build a sustainable business. What is a personal brand strategy, and what characteristics of a personal brand are crucial for sustainable success? To start, don't be timid. Rely on your faith, be bold and courageous, and step into your God-given gifts. What is a personal brand? Think of your personal brand as the perception others have of you. It's a story, your story, that others want to be part of. A story they can see themselves as part of because they like you and trust you. Your personal brand is how you differentiate yourself from all others in your niche. It designates why someone will want to hire you or work with you. Without a personal brand, you have nothing to communicate with the marketplace. So, decide what makes you unique. What defines your unique personal brand? Likewise, if you have a personal brand that isn't visible online, no one will know you are there to help them. So let me ask: Is fear holding you back from becoming visible? From shouting from the rooftops, your story that people need to hear to want to be in your community and hire you? 2 Timothy 1:7 reminds us, "The Spirit God gave us does not make us timid but gives us power, love, and self-discipline." Don't let fear hold you back - create a personal brand strategy. Your story consists of the good, the bad, and the not-so-good. But sharing the not-so-good doesn't have to be something terrifying.
