Frank get's confused on which Peter Parker is which in the movie while they talk about the various Spider-people that arrive into Miles reality due to the testing of a large device that creates dimensional rifts. John briefly talks about "goobers" or Macguffins. They discuss the theme of "believing in yourself" and how it is the central idea to the film with all the characters. Frank touches on the history of the multiverse characters. John and Frank then talk about how the movie was stylized to appear like a comic book through-out. Then the guys talk villains, first comparing the Spider-verse Kingpin with Daredevil's, as well as going in depth about this version of Doc Ock. The discussion turns to what they hope to see in future films with all the characters. And finally it's their final thoughts. Instead, “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse” is one of the best animated movies of this or any other year, with great characters, an exciting story, and a mind-boggling visual style that changes the game for animation and superhero movies alike. We come in praise of Miles Morales, Peter B. Parker, and all the other spiders who populate this delightful gift of a film. Après Venom, Sony revient en 2018 avec le film d'animation Spider-Man Into The Spider-Verse. Arrivé sans crier gare, le film a rapidement "hypé" les fans avec ses trailers hauts en couleurs. Mais que vaut-il vraiment ? Alors que trois acteurs ont déjà incarné Peter Parker au cinéma, cette fois c'est un autre Spider-Man qui est à l'honneur : Miles Morales. Créé par Brian Michael Bendis en 2011, cet ado a très vite acquis une popularité certaine parmi les lecteurs de comics. (en dehors des lecteurs alt-right évidemment mais on les em*.) On peut déjà remercier Sony d'avoir choisi une autre incarnation de l'homme araignée. Mais bien évidemment, puisque l'on parle de Spider-Verse, le studio a décidé de ne pas s'arrêter en si bon chemin. Notre jeune héros est donc accompagné de Peter B. Parker, Gwen Stacy, Peter Porker, Peni Parker et Spider-Man Noir. Une sacrée brochette de héros ! Autre indice de l'investissement de Sony : le casting. De Mahershala Ali à Nicolas Cage en passant par Liev Schreiber ou Lily Tomlin, on peut dire que la V.O. à de la classe. Sur le papier, on peut donc dire que tout est là. Alors, notre regard critique a-t-il fondu devant ses couleurs chatoyantes ? Vous saurez tout en écoutant ce nouveau numéro de notre podcast.
