Nach einem erfolgreichen Testflug wird das Flugzeug am 21. Februar unter der Sonderflugnummer LH9920 von Frankfurt nach München überführt. After a three-year break, Lufthansa's A380 is once again taking to the skies. The giant Airbus now flying from Munich to Boston, and to New York. DW reporters observed all the preparations and were on board for the maiden flight.

Lufthansa mothballed its A380s two years ago due to the pandemic. But now the airline is reactivating the superjumbos, due to an unexpectedly rapid rise in demand and resulting uncovered capacities.
