Slovakia is a beautiful country with a rich history. There is so much to see and do while you're there. While you'll find a lot of traditional breweries serving lagers and old world styles, the new beer scene is still in it's nacient days. Cierny Kamen is raising the craft beer game. We got to try two of their beers: Riwaka Time and Nexthopoit. Riwaka Time is a 5%ABV NEIPA made with...you guessed it...Riwaka hops. Nexthopoit is a 6.2% ABV NEIPA made with Talus, Sabro and Sultana hops. #beer #craftbeer #drinks #neipa #ciernykamen

Either way this is another must try IPA from San Diego Brewing Company. Brewer Chris utilizes his own CTZ blend of Citra, Talus and Zappa hops to craft a tropical yet very dank drinkable IPA. Also not to be out done by the beer, Tyson packs the holy trinity of pork on to one pizza with the Brew Co Combo!

The convergence of AI and crypto is particularly interesting to us. We've been doing research and are really coming around to the idea that AI might be the major unlock for crypto, especially for onchain usage. If you're completely new to the convergence of AI and crypto, this is for you. In today's discussion, we discuss the "AI War" of compute and GPUs. The majority of the current GPU usage is being held in the hands of large big tech companies, we're not fans of this model and its not the ideal path for scaling AI going forward. We also discuss how blockchain will decentralize AI, promoting an open marketplace where resources such as computing power, data, and models are accessible to everyone. Then, we go onto discuss how smart agents are being built to execute operations onchain autonomously. Finally, we explore how Mike and Ben, the founders of Talus, are working to integrate AI into the current blockchain landscape. The future is in our hands. Type C3 distal tibial plafond fractures consistently show poor outcomes with high complication rates and significant risk of posttraumatic arthritis. We describe a minimally invasive technique of performing a primary ankle fusion using an anterograde tibial nail and compare our early results to traditional methods of fixation. In conclusion, C3 distal tibial plafond fractures are difficult to manage and there has not been a satisfactory method of treating them that allows early return to work, has a low risk of complications, and reduces the risk of posttraumatic tibiotalar arthritis. We present our initial results with a method that uses traditional arthroscopic techniques to prepare the tibiotalar joint together with minimally invasive anterograde tibiotalar nailing. In this initial report of a small group of patients, we found that surgery can be performed once the swelling has subsided after injury and that allowing weightbearing as tolerated did not appear to have a negative effect on initial outcomes. Anu Talus, who succeeded Andrea Jelinek to become the second chair of the European Data Protection Board in May, hopes to build on Jelinek's work as she focuses on making GDPR enforcement more coherent, efficient and harmonized across the bloc's member states. In an extended conversation with MLex on the sidelines of the Global Privacy Assembly meetings this year, Talus discussed issues ranging from the EDPB's highly unusual step of making permanent and EU-wide a temporary Norwegian ban on Meta Platforms targeting users with behavioral-based ads without their consent issued under the GDPR's urgency procedure, to how she entered the data protection field years ago.

High alpine talus slopes are home to a myriad of creatures, namely mountain goats and American pikas, both specialists in alpine habitats. We talk with Mallory Sandoval Lambert, whose curiosity about the interactions between these two mammalian herbivores led her to study their behaviors in the LaSal Mountains. Understanding these interactions will have important implications for the conservation of each species. This data will be particularly useful for both pika conservation and agencies tasked with managing the land that introduced mountain goat herds inhabit.

It's the first episode of 2023. We wanted to kick the year off with some local beers. We've had a lot of foreign beers on the podcast of late, so we wanted to bring things back home. Potum Brewery has been putting out quite a bit at the end of 2022. We picked up a can of one of their NEIPAs called Narayan. It's a solid entry into the crowded NEIPA market. Made with Idaho 7 and dry hopped with Amarillo and Talus. We're really looking forward to seeing more from this brewery. Train Station Brewery Dark Side Imperial Ale 2022 won the bronze last year at a Swedish beer festival. This beer has been around since 2015 and we thought it would a fun style to try. We haven't had many dark ales to review on the show. This one hits the spot. #drinks #craftbeer #beer #neipa #potumbrewing #darkale #dipa

HBC, the Hop Breeding Company, is responsible for developing some of the most compelling hop varieties in contemporary beer—Mosaic, Citra, Talus, and Sabro are just a few of the aroma hops that they've developed. But how does a new hop variety come into being, and what drives its development? In this episode, Jason Perrault of Yakima Chief Ranches and Michael Ferguson of John I. Haas, two leading hop breeders in Yakima Valley and the driving forces behind the two-pronged HBC program, talk about what it takes to develop a new hop variety. They discuss: the typical decade-long timeline for developing a new hop variety defining objectives for new hops, from agronomic efficiency and yield to aromatic potency taking plants from seeds crossed from two promising parents, through single plant, 7 plant, and larger field plantings positive and negative selection for desirable and undesirable traits evaluating new hops using a consistent base recipe in test brewing achieving elite status and finding brewer champions for new varieties And more. Join Ryan Smeltz as he interviews Sara Hall of Talus Ridge. She created a way to make second chance vests and body armor more comfortable for Military and Law Enforcement. It all began with a dream. Within a week, she applied to a startup incubator. Within three months, she'd applied for the patent and had her first investor. Today, Sara leads a core team of driven change-makers all committed to making a global impact. Sara spent 15 years in the insurance industry before going behind the scenes for the NC State Highway Patrol. Sitting behind the headset — listening to emergency callers with one ear and responding to law enforcement officers with the other. Juggling calls, prioritizing emergencies, getting the appropriate responders on the scene. On time. Every time. Sara launched Thin Gold Line, Inc. while still working that job with its long, intense hours. As she did that, she and her husband also ran their own small business while overseeing their collective brood of five kids. In July of 2020, Sara hung up her headset to devote a full-time effort to her startup. And now, her startup is taking off. Fast. Sara has had the vision all along. She leads with passion and purpose, believing no job is too small for any employee or leader. Sara demonstrates this daily while serving the team and stakeholders she loves – whether meeting with the CEO of an international tactical gear distributor, recording a podcast geared toward retired law enforcement, engaging in a community listening session to strengthen meaningful dialogue, or making sure the plants in the office have enough dirt and water to thrive. In fact, on any given day, you'll find Sara running Talus Ridge like a dispatcher. Because she's been one. https://talusridge.com/ www.businessandbrewsshow.com . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . #businessandbrews #businessandbrewspodcast #businessandbrewsshow #businessandbrewsnc #businessandbrewskies #raleighpodcast #raleighpodcaster #raleighnc #raleighsmallbusiness #ryansmeltz #localbusiness #raleighlocalbusiness #raleighnclocalbusiness #wakeforestnc #podcast #podcastersofinstagram #podcastlistening #businesspodcast #smallbusinesspodcast #localbusinesspodcast #podcastandbeer #beerandpodcast #businessownerspodcast #smallbusinessowners #podcastspotlight --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/businessandbrews/message
