In this week's episode we host John Lamb, Solutions Lead AI & Analytics at TietoEvry. John emphasises that while tools like LLMs are useful for automating repetitive tasks such as code generation or data prep, they fall short when it comes to reasoning and interpreting structured data. He explains that data cleaning still dominates much of a data scientist's time and that current AI tools, though helpful, cannot yet be trusted for end-to-end analysis. John also discusses why he believes AGI is still years away, requiring a fundamental shift in technology, and shares practical advice for using AI responsibly, underscoring the importance of human judgment in any AI-driven workflow.

Helsingin pörssissä on halpaa. Kurki-Suonio on kuitenkin optimistinen Euroopan piristymisen suhteen. Siihen hän on varautunut muun muassa lisäämällä luksusyhtiöiden painoa hoitamassaan S-Pankki Eurooppa Osake -rahastossa. Marinadi yhteistyössä S-Pankki

Embark on an intimate exploration of the transformative power of accessibility with Nadia Törnroos, a beacon of change in the tech industry. Nadia, a seasoned software engineer and accessibility specialist, recounts her personal voyage from academia under Professor Mike Walt at Southampton University to pioneering an accessibility revolution at Tietoevry.

Antti Kettunen is the leading Digital Identity Consultant at Tietoevry, specializing in Decentralized Identity and Trust Ecosystems. He is an active contributor and Task Force lead in Trust over IP, technology working group member in the Finnish FindyNet cooperative, and contributing member in other domain expert groups. Dr. Kai Kuikkaniemi is and enterprise architect, an advocate for open ecosystems and human-centric digitalization, and a Senior Advisor at MyData, having done lots of work around ‘data spaces'. About Podcast Episode Read more about the episode by heading to https://northernblock.io/podcasts/exploring-commercial-data-ecosystems The full list of topics discussed between Antti, Kai and I in this podcast conversation include: How do concepts of digital trust apply or differ in organizations versus individuals? How is trust achieved differently by organizations in organization-to-organization relationships versus organization-to-people relationships? Are data spaces a new type of role within this digital ecosystem? Can risk or liabilities be shared within these areas? Are there historical examples of organizations serving similar purposes for different ecosystems? Why is liability more important in this digital space, when the issuing authority or the party attesting to the authenticity of a document don't necessarily take liability if something goes wrong? How is liability managed in this open ecosystem space, particularly when interactions don't necessitate a legal relationship between parties? How can risk be managed to ensure enough rewards and shared risk that organizations will want to switch over and engage in the new model? Could consumers manage their possible vendors through a similar scenario by owning their own data, as suggested by Doc Searls's writings on vendor relationship management (VRM)? (Recommended book: https://www.amazon.com/Intention-Economy-When-Customers-Charge/dp/1422158527) Can the introduction of these digital ecosystems allow for earlier development of relationships in the customer acquisition cycle? How can these ecosystems enable trust-based marketing? How can new data ecosystems for commercial use cases be incubated and developed based on government digital identity or credentialing programs? What would be some recommendations for forming governance bodies for data ecosystems and the incentives for organizations to form and deploy services within these ecosystems? Where to find Antti? Podcast transcript Let's Talk About Digital Identity, the podcast connecting identity and business. I am your host, Oscar Santolalla. Oscar Santolalla: You might have heard of eIDAS before, especially if you are in the payment industry. But now in the recent years, the European Commission is working on a new version, eIDAS 2.0. We're going to talk about that and especially from the perspective of Finland. We have a special guest who has been working in Finland. And our special guest today is Bo Harald. He started his career in banking in the 1970s by promoting and building electronic banking, payments, and e-business services. He developed Nordea's Electronic Banking and payments operation for 30 years, after which he started working with TietoEvry as the Head of Executive Advisors. He has also served as the Chairman of the EU Expert Group on Electronic Invoicing, the Chairman of Mobey, Mobile Financial Services Forum, and has held and holds directorships in various companies and associations. He has been named as one of the most influential technologists of the 20th century by Institutional Investor, and has been awarded for advancing the Information Society by the Finnish Ministry of Transport and Communications. Bo currently works as an independent advisor at Findy.fi, a Senior Advisor at the Finnish Council of Regulatory Impact Analysis, a Founder and Steering Committee member at MyData.org, and with the publicly funded, Real Time Economy programme. Hello, Bo. Bo Harald: Hello, and thank you for having me. Oscar: It's a pleasure, Bo. Thanks for joining us. And definitely, I want to hear all these very interesting things about eIDAS 2.0. So let's start, let's get started. Let's talk about digital identity. We'd like to hear from your very extensive and varied background in banking and technology. Please tell us a bit more about your career journey - how everything until today working in the Finnish eIDAS 2.0 workgroups. Bo: Yeah, it's a long ladder, and I want to call it a ladder. It started back in the late '70s, when we developed the first versions of home banking, the PC banking in the very early 1980s for private customers at Union Bank of Finland, and nowadays Nordea. And also for SMEs long before internet. And the first step was obviously with payments, invoice payments, typically, bill payments. And then we moved on to put all banking services actually into e-banking before internet already. And so that was the first phase.

For this vignette of a recent episode of the Futurum Tech Webcast, Part of the 5G Factor series, analysts Shelly Kramer and Ron Westfall provide their perspectives on Ericsson's decision to divest its product research and development activities in Nanjing, China by November 2021. Their conversation covered: Ericsson now has four R&D centers after the Nanjing R&D center divestment resulting in the apparent transfer of over 600 employees to TietoEVRY, a Finnish software provider with offices in China. How the move coincides with Ericsson's market share loss to China-based rivals like Huawei and ZTE in China's domestic 5G market. Why the decision of Ericsson's leadership to remain committed to the China mobile market is a strategically sound one as China is the global leader in 5G deployments today and is a key testbed for emerging 5G applications and capabilities. Why geopolitical tensions and China's recent economic and trade decisions may diminish China's own mobile ecosystem and standing over the long term. Shelly and Ron agree that doing business in China is becoming increasingly tricky today as developments such as new Edtech market regulations and Jack Ma's reduced presence are indicators that deal-making across the China tech market, including the 5G and mobile sections. will become more challenging.

"Employees need to wear the brand, live the brand, if they don't feel valued, they will not be your brand champs"If you care about employer branding, advocacy and social hiring, Kunjal Kamdar is someone you should know. Kunjal combines a career in talent acquisition and branding including working with giants like Capgemini, WNS Global Services and Virtusa with a relentlessly curious brain for a perspective that captures both the big picture and the nitty-gritty details of what it takes to build an employer brand. He currently brings that expertise to TietoEVRY - a leading digital services and software company as the Senior HR Specialist - Global Employer Branding Lead, and in this conversation, we picked his brain on how he thinks about employee branding as a whole. We discuss with Kunjal:The importance of employee advocacy to your employer brand strategyEngagement despite M&A - the impact on employer brandHow to turn your employees into brand advocatesWays to attract young talent to your companyWhat's more to employer branding beyond careers page, and social mediaRemote, hybrid or back to the office?Ways to create a more human workplace Employer branding when an acquisition takes place:People need to understand that it is not only the brand that changes when it is acquired. There are a lot of changes within it, from values, culture, to policies. There comes a point when a company acquires another where they have to sit and discuss how an organization maintains both sides of culture. The modifications need to be made accordingly. It is a challenge specifically for HR professionals.Employer branding vs employee advocacy:Kunjal explains how according to studies, an employee advocate is trusted 2x more than a company CEO. The more employees talk about the company, the more impact. The employees are the face of the brand, and both go hand in hand. Employer branding is the employer's reputation, and employee advocacy is the promotion of that reputation.Ways to identify employee ambassadors:Most companies are finding the ingredient to employee ambassadors. However, they should be the ones who are happy with their companies and are rated high. They should be able to represent them in external forums, webinars, conferences, etc. The organizations need to focus on how they can work on developing these people and give them a platform.Social media to attract talent:Social media has played a vital role in creating awareness in attracting talent. First, it is more organizational based on where they are and what they do for the same. Kunjal explains the significance of different platforms individually. Social media for employee branding has been a challenge. Companies need to understand that they do not have to stay active everywhere. They have to analyze the platforms which are best for them and simply have a presence in others.Employer branding through social media:Employer branding in social media is inside out. It starts with organizations creating enough awareness and campaigns for their employees. While for employees, it starts with creating awareness about their referrals, seeing the staffing, and finding out policies.Within employer branding, every touchpoint of employees-from joining to leaving the organization- is an interesting space. Companies should focus on enriching this experience.Follow Kunjal on LinkedInProduced by: Priya BhattPodcast host: Junius DsilvaGet the best of this episode in our blog.

An example of an NFT is a one-of-a-kind trading card, such as a digital artwork, in this episode we talk about NBA sportscards as another example, that you simply cannot replace with any other artwork. Today, the majority of NFTs are digital which makes it very easy for creators to give their supporters something unique and rare. While they are similar to Bitcoins and other cryptocurrencies, they are non-fungible and non-divisible. Do you want to reach out to Fintechpodden?
