早安，我是晏飞，今天是摄影早自习陪伴大家的第2403天。上周末我在北京尼康的直营店做了一次分享，讲的就是怎么拍北京的胡同，然后我就带着小伙伴们去胡同扫街了，所以这期早自习咱们就分享一些这次扫街拍的照片。扫街的主要镜头：尼克尔 Z 24-70mm f/2.8 S 图片来源：尼康官网咱们先说说扫街用的器材吧，因为我觉得很多人可能一提到扫街，首先想到的就是三里屯扫街的大爷、春熙路扫街的大爷，他们街拍用的那种大长焦镜头，但其实我的习惯扫街更多的是会用到广角和中焦的焦段。这次拍摄的器材是兰拓提供的，所以我就管它们要了一支24-70mm作为我的主要挂机头，然后还有一支70-200mm作为辅助，机身用的是尼康的Z8。这次我们主要走了三条胡同，五道营胡同、建厂胡同，还有国子监胡同。其实尤其是五道营胡同，它其实有点类似于南锣鼓巷，有好多这种文创的小店，所以它就会有很多那种玻璃的橱窗，透过玻璃橱窗，这次我就拍了很多有玻璃反光的画面。© 晏飞比如说这张照片，其实是还没进入到五道营胡同，在胡同口有一个卖北京菜的饭馆，它有一面特别大的这种玻璃窗，然后里面能够看到饭馆的后厨，他们正在做烤鸭。我们去的时候可能刚好是中午的饭点，紧挨着这个玻璃窗就挂着一排北京烤鸭。这条街的对面正好是雍和宫，所以从橱窗里面就可以反射出雍和宫的红墙，还有它的金色的屋顶。我觉得这两个元素在一起特别有意思，就是看似八竿子打不着的两个事物，但是你仔细一想，它们好像又有点联系，对吧？至少它们都算是北京比较有代表性的事物。所以我就把雍和宫放到了画面的正上方中间的位置，烤鸭放到右下角，然后我就等，想等左下角有一个路人的出现，这样整个画面就平衡了嘛。其实我拍了很多张路人，其中也拍到了一些还算满意的照片。就在我马上就要结束拍摄的时候，有一个年轻人就从饭馆里匆匆忙忙的就出来，看他的穿着应该是饭馆的服务员，他肯定是烟瘾犯了，就一边往出走，一边就急忙的掏出一根烟，点上就吸了一口。他刚好从我的前面路过，在橱窗里形成了一个黑色的剪影，然后我就按下了快门。这张照片拍完以后，我自己特别喜欢，它正好利用反光把皇家的庙宇和普通的老百姓的吃食放到了一起，而且人物正好是一个抽烟的姿态，就是一个很好的剪影。如果你仔细看的话，画面中还有很丰富的细节，比如说你看左上角有一排这种北京路上常见的探头，画面的左侧还有圆形的路牌，画面的最下方是一排自行车。其实整个画面的元素很多，但是又不会觉得很乱。画面中的三个主体，一个在最上方，一个左下角，一个右下角形，成了一个三角形。© 晏飞拍完这张我们就接着往前走，这个胡同口堆满了各种各样的共享的电动车啊、单车啊，透过某一个电动车它的后视镜的反光，你如果稍微变换一下站的角度，就刚好可以透过它把对面雍和宫的一个建筑群装在里面，而这个反光镜的边框就形成了一个很好的框架。这样的构图其实已经就挺有意思的，挺好看的，对吧？但是我觉得还不够，所以我就等，我想等个路人出现在画面中，我觉得有了人这个画面好像就更有故事感。然后就等到了这一对中年的夫妇，他们并不是就从我这个画面中走过这一下，其实他们在这个位置待了好久，然后我也拍了很多他们两个在这个画面中的照片，但最后留下的是这张他们的背影。其实我也有拍到他们的正脸，但最终还是选择了这张背影的照片，因为我觉得看不到脸的背影，反而会让画面有更大的想象的空间。你看这个画面其实他们并没有在雍和宫的那一侧的马路上，好像就是在这一侧在等车，但看到这个画面你是不是也可以说这是一对中年的夫妻，好像刚在雍和宫祈完福以后走在回家的路上，对吧？是不是可以想象成这样的故事呢？就是这个画面它会给人以更大的想象的空间。© 晏飞然后呢我们就继续往胡同里面走，我看到了一棵很漂亮的大树。我其实特别喜欢这种胡同里的树，我总觉得胡同里的树和我们路边看到的树它是不一样的。因为路边的树它都是被修剪成一样的大小、一样的形状，就是有很明显的人工修饰的痕迹。但胡同里的树好像大家并不指望它成材，就放任它肆意的生长，它的枝条就长得很随意，看上去也更有野性。尤其是冬天这些树叶都掉光以后，我就特别喜欢拍这些枝枝桠桠，我觉得就光这些线条本身就很漂亮了。但是我又觉得只拍这个树好像还差点意思，所以我就在对面找了这么一面玻璃，我利用这个玻璃的一角就把这个树框在了里面。透过这个玻璃还能隐约地看到这个屋子里面的一些细节，这应该是一个老的北京建筑改造的小店，你看它里面还保留着老北京房屋的这种青砖砌成的拱门，而且里面的装潢也很讲究，用的是这种很老的钨丝灯泡。这样的元素组合在一起我也觉得很有趣，你看老的砖墙，然后这种不修边幅的胡同里的老树，还有这种老式的钨丝灯，整个画面就都给人一种旧旧的感觉。© 晏飞当然了，我在拍摄中有成功的照片，也有那些不太成功的案例。比如说这张照片，这个是在胡同里有一个地方它堆满这种电瓶车，我就正好找到了有3辆电瓶车它离的是特别的近，然后它们的车把都是互相挤着交错在一起的，其中有4个反光镜离得特别近。这个时候我的长焦镜头就派上用场了，因为长焦它有压缩画面的效果，我就离得比较远的距离，然后用长焦把这4个反光镜压得更近了一些。因为每个反光镜它的朝向是不同的，它就能拍到不同的画面。所以我理想中的画面是这样的，就是每一个镜子里面都有一个单独的主体，它能单独成为一个画面，透过这些反光镜又把这些主体组合在一起。但真实拍起来其实是很难的，我在这个地方就等了十几分钟，最后拍出来的这个照片还是不太满意。其实你看，如果我再迟零点几秒按下快门，左下角这两个人刚好可以走到反光镜更中间一点的位置，但是如果我再晚一点按快门呢，右上角这个人她可能就走出镜子。而且最上面的这个反光镜，其实这里面的两个人就是左下角的两个人，但是因为我当时没有反应过来，这时候如果我把拍摄的相机的视角再放得高一点，可能就能至少把她们的头和上半身拍进画面里，这个时候可能至少上面的画面也就有了一个比较好的主体。所以这张照片拍完，就多少还是有那么一点遗憾。所以你看，我今天分享了4张街拍的照片，都是利用镜面反光拍摄的画面，我不知道大家是不是能从中有所启发。我也想知道你们平时拍照扫街都喜欢用什么样的镜头呢？或者你们有没有什么特别喜欢或者经常去的扫街的地方呢，大家都可以在下方留言里面告诉我。好，咱们今天的早自习就分享到这，今天是摄影早自习陪伴大家的第2403天，我是晏飞，每天早上6:30，微信公众号以及喜马拉雅的“摄影早自习”，我们不见不散。

Henrik Fisker was born in a small town in Denmark in the 1960s. He loved taking rides on Danish country roads with his father in the family's Saab 96 sedan. One day a Maserati blew past them and Henrik instantly discovered his life's passion: Cool cars. He first went to work for BMW where he designed the Z8 and later was recruited by Aston Martin to develop the DB9 and Vantage. In 2007, Henrik founded Fisker Automotive where he designed and developed the Fisker Karma, an electrified supercar. That company met trouble when its battery supplier, A123 Systems, went bankrupt. Today, Henrik is back, building a new company called Fisker Inc. His first product will be the Fisker Ocean, an all-electric SUV that will start deliveries in Q4 2022. Federico Faggin has led what he calls four lives: as a physicist, engineer and inventor, entrepreneur, and author. He developed the MOS silicon gate technology at Fairchild (1968) and designed the world's first microprocessor at Intel (1971). Faggin also founded and led Zilog, Synaptics, and other high-tech companies. The Zilog Z80 microprocessor (1976), and the Z8 microcontroller (1978) are still in volume production in 2021. At Synaptics he pioneered the Touchpad (1994) and the Touchscreen (1999), - solutions that have revolutionized the way we interface with mobile devices.Federico has received many prizes and awards in the United States, Europe, and Japan. These include the Marconi Prize (1988), the Kyoto Prize for Advanced Technology (1997), and the National Medal of Technology and Innovation (2009), from President Barack Obama. In 1996, Faggin was inducted in the National Inventor's Hall of Fame. 【加入摄影早自习群】加叶梓私人微信：katoyezi09（暗号：喜马拉雅）【加入以下同城摄影群】 北京 成都 重庆 长沙广州 杭州 闽南 南京 上海 苏州 深圳 天津武汉 西安 郑州 山东加叶梓私人微信：katoyezi09（暗号：城市名）【摄影课程咨询微信】hello-kato它和你的相机、显示器息息相关。早安，我是叶梓，今天是摄影早自习陪伴大家的第1393天。今天来谈谈“色深”，有同学一听这词就觉得这东西我弄不懂，而且跟我生活也没什么关系，但你错了这个东西不难弄懂，而且跟你还息息相关。我举个例子，前段时间我看到微信群里面有一位同学发了这么一张照片，是翻拍的他家的屏幕——新买的一个屏幕，这个屏幕上显示的照片的蓝天有很多色彩的断层。什么意思呢？就是从最暗处到最亮处的那个蓝色被分成了好几个色块，过渡一点都不自然，有明显的边界，那感觉就好像是在用色彩不多的水彩笔平涂出来了一幅画，每种色彩之间都有个明显的边界。因为这不是在我的群里面，所以我当时没好意思回话，但实际上他这个屏幕还真有可能有问题，要么就是屏幕有问题，要么就是他相机拍的有问题，要么就是他拍了以后后期处理的问题，但总的来说就是色深的问题，所以今天我们就来聊聊色深。首先我试着用最简单的方法来给你描述一下什么叫色深，色深的意思就是说电脑对一个像素的颜色的描述的二进制的位数，它的单位是bit。比如说这里有一个相机，它只能拍两位的色深的照片，那什么意思？就是它每个像素就只能在每一个通道里被描述为两种颜色，讲白了就是这一个像素它里边所含的红色只能是有红或没有红，含的绿色是有绿或没有绿，它所含的蓝色成分只能是有蓝或没有蓝，至于有多少的蓝，一概不知。这样的照片如果体现为彩色照片的话，它就只有“红绿蓝”以及红绿蓝的三间色叫“黄品青”，只有这么六种颜色，再加上白和黑。如果是黑白照片的话，它就只能体现为白和黑，感觉跟钢笔画差不多，就是没有中间的任何的灰度过度，所以相机的色深肯定是越深越好。现在的相机色深有多深呢？比如说我们现在常见的卡片机，它们的色深差不多是12位的，12bit的，APS-C画幅的和全画幅的微单相机、单反相机常见的是14bit的。当然也有一些很极端的，比如说尼康出了个Z8好像是16bit的，我之前用过的一些中画幅数码相机那都是16bit为主。其中12bit每通道能记录4095种不同的色彩，这红绿蓝三个通道混在一起，它能显示的总色彩是680亿，听上去很多，但是你别忘了，它每一种颜色只能显示4095种。14bit的色彩是每一种通道有16,383种，然后总色彩数量是40000亿。16bit的色深每一通道是65532种，总的色彩数量是2810000亿，这个是一个非常恐怖的数量。那什么样的色深才够用呢？对于相机来说其实一般14bit就挺好，当然如果是16bit就更好，为什么呢？因为你这个相机把这个照片拍回家以后，咱们还得后期处理，后期处理里面，比如说一个简单的加大对比度的动作，实际上如果你色深不够，就很容易暴露出色彩数量不够的缺陷。一加大对比度，整个蓝天从白到黑的这一个距离被拉远了，但是它色彩还是那么多种色彩，所以就会很容易出现断层。所以从后期的角度上来讲，我们不嫌弃它色深大。图片来源：艺卓官网好，看完相机的事，我们来看看显示器的事。显示器的色深因为技术的原因是不如相机的，我们一般中等的显示器它的色深一般是8bit。8bit什么概念呢？就是红绿蓝三通道各显示256种色彩，然后它的总的色彩数量是1亿6000万。现在民用级的最好的显示器，就是我用的这一台：艺卓CG319X，它的色深是10bit的，它的10bit的色深能在每个通道里显示1024种色彩，总的色彩数量是10亿。图片来源：艺卓官网说到这里可能有人就疑惑了，艺卓这台显示器它卖5万多块钱是吧？但是你要搜一下的话你会发现淘宝上也有不少其它品牌的很便宜很便宜的显示器也号称自己是10bit的色深，这是为什么？这里就涉及到一个真10bit和假10bit的这么一个概念。就是说有很多显示器厂商想把自己的色深搞得大一点，但是它成本也不想花那么多，而且自己可能也没那个技术，所以它的硬件条件上无法支持10bit的色深，最后就做了一个“抖动”，让某个像素点在两种临近的色值之间进行快速交替的显示，深蓝—浅蓝—深蓝—浅蓝—深蓝—浅蓝，只要显示得够快，你最后就看到了一种中不溜的蓝色，明白这意思了吧，这样8bit就被抖成了10bit的色深。那这样的显示结果它显然和硬件直接支持的10bit色深的显示效果是差得很远的，如果你把两台显示器摆在一起一比，你会发现这个差异非常的直观。你更要小心的是某一些很廉价的显示器，它们所宣称的8bit如果也不是硬件级别的，也不是真的，而是由6bit抖出来的，那你就等着瞧，那个色彩肯定非常糟糕，6bit每通道只能显示64种颜色。所以在你预算允许的情况下，我还是推荐大家买10bit的显示器，尽量接近于我们相机能够拍到的色彩的数量。如果你暂时没有这个预算也没关系，至少你要知道bit（误：色深）是我们衡量一个相机能拍到的色彩的数量，以及一个显示器能显示的色彩数量的一个重要指标，哪怕你就只买了一个七、八百的显示器，你也要知道你到底买到的是一个什么样的显示器。好，最后让我们回到一开始提到的有断层的蓝天的照片，为什么蓝天很容易被看出色彩的断层呢？为什么那些花里胡哨的、色彩丰富的照片反而看不出色深不够的问题呢？原因是这样子的，蓝天基本上只有蓝色，所以一个8bit的显示器就只能把这个蓝天从明到暗的分为256种蓝来显示，它三通道混在一起的1.6亿色彩根本帮不上忙，就只有256种，所以很容易暴露出问题来。越是红绿蓝的纯色的渐变，越容易暴露出这个问题。最后给个小彩蛋，我在文末放了一个我制作的红、绿、蓝三色的渐变条，你可以仔细看一看这个颜色的渐变是不是顺滑的，你可以据此来检验你的手机的屏幕，它的色深如何，显示效果够不够好。当然你也可以把它传到电脑上去或者请你的朋友和你一起打开这张图，对比一下两个不同品牌的手机之间的差异。© 叶梓好吧，今天我们就简单的先聊这么多，希望大家已经理解色深这个概念。如果大家有更多摄影问题还是欢迎在底部向我留言，我会尽力为您解答。更多摄影好课请见“阅读原文”，喜欢早自习的请点亮“在看”。今天是摄影早自习陪伴大家的第1393天，我是叶梓，每天早上6:30，微信公众号“摄影早自习”，不见不散。

【加入摄影早自习群】加叶梓私人微信：katoyezi09（暗号：喜马拉雅）【加入以下同城摄影群】 北京 成都 重庆 长沙广州 杭州 闽南 南京 上海 苏州 深圳 天津武汉 西安 郑州 山东加叶梓私人微信：katoyezi09（暗号：城市名）【摄影课程咨询微信】hello-kato它和你的相机、显示器息息相关。早安，我是叶梓，今天是摄影早自习陪伴大家的第1393天。今天来谈谈“色深”，有同学一听这词就觉得这东西我弄不懂，而且跟我生活也没什么关系，但你错了这个东西不难弄懂，而且跟你还息息相关。我举个例子，前段时间我看到微信群里面有一位同学发了这么一张照片，是翻拍的他家的屏幕——新买的一个屏幕，这个屏幕上显示的照片的蓝天有很多色彩的断层。什么意思呢？就是从最暗处到最亮处的那个蓝色被分成了好几个色块，过渡一点都不自然，有明显的边界，那感觉就好像是在用色彩不多的水彩笔平涂出来了一幅画，每种色彩之间都有个明显的边界。因为这不是在我的群里面，所以我当时没好意思回话，但实际上他这个屏幕还真有可能有问题，要么就是屏幕有问题，要么就是他相机拍的有问题，要么就是他拍了以后后期处理的问题，但总的来说就是色深的问题，所以今天我们就来聊聊色深。首先我试着用最简单的方法来给你描述一下什么叫色深，色深的意思就是说电脑对一个像素的颜色的描述的二进制的位数，它的单位是bit。比如说这里有一个相机，它只能拍两位的色深的照片，那什么意思？就是它每个像素就只能在每一个通道里被描述为两种颜色，讲白了就是这一个像素它里边所含的红色只能是有红或没有红，含的绿色是有绿或没有绿，它所含的蓝色成分只能是有蓝或没有蓝，至于有多少的蓝，一概不知。这样的照片如果体现为彩色照片的话，它就只有“红绿蓝”以及红绿蓝的三间色叫“黄品青”，只有这么六种颜色，再加上白和黑。如果是黑白照片的话，它就只能体现为白和黑，感觉跟钢笔画差不多，就是没有中间的任何的灰度过度，所以相机的色深肯定是越深越好。现在的相机色深有多深呢？比如说我们现在常见的卡片机，它们的色深差不多是12位的，12bit的，APS-C画幅的和全画幅的微单相机、单反相机常见的是14bit的。当然也有一些很极端的，比如说尼康出了个Z8好像是16bit的，我之前用过的一些中画幅数码相机那都是16bit为主。其中12bit每通道能记录4095种不同的色彩，这红绿蓝三个通道混在一起，它能显示的总色彩是680亿，听上去很多，但是你别忘了，它每一种颜色只能显示4095种。14bit的色彩是每一种通道有16,383种，然后总色彩数量是40000亿。16bit的色深每一通道是65532种，总的色彩数量是2810000亿，这个是一个非常恐怖的数量。那什么样的色深才够用呢？对于相机来说其实一般14bit就挺好，当然如果是16bit就更好，为什么呢？因为你这个相机把这个照片拍回家以后，咱们还得后期处理，后期处理里面，比如说一个简单的加大对比度的动作，实际上如果你色深不够，就很容易暴露出色彩数量不够的缺陷。一加大对比度，整个蓝天从白到黑的这一个距离被拉远了，但是它色彩还是那么多种色彩，所以就会很容易出现断层。所以从后期的角度上来讲，我们不嫌弃它色深大。图片来源：艺卓官网好，看完相机的事，我们来看看显示器的事。显示器的色深因为技术的原因是不如相机的，我们一般中等的显示器它的色深一般是8bit。8bit什么概念呢？就是红绿蓝三通道各显示256种色彩，然后它的总的色彩数量是1亿6000万。现在民用级的最好的显示器，就是我用的这一台：艺卓CG319X，它的色深是10bit的，它的10bit的色深能在每个通道里显示1024种色彩，总的色彩数量是10亿。图片来源：艺卓官网说到这里可能有人就疑惑了，艺卓这台显示器它卖5万多块钱是吧？但是你要搜一下的话你会发现淘宝上也有不少其它品牌的很便宜很便宜的显示器也号称自己是10bit的色深，这是为什么？这里就涉及到一个真10bit和假10bit的这么一个概念。就是说有很多显示器厂商想把自己的色深搞得大一点，但是它成本也不想花那么多，而且自己可能也没那个技术，所以它的硬件条件上无法支持10bit的色深，最后就做了一个“抖动”，让某个像素点在两种临近的色值之间进行快速交替的显示，深蓝—浅蓝—深蓝—浅蓝—深蓝—浅蓝，只要显示得够快，你最后就看到了一种中不溜的蓝色，明白这意思了吧，这样8bit就被抖成了10bit的色深。那这样的显示结果它显然和硬件直接支持的10bit色深的显示效果是差得很远的，如果你把两台显示器摆在一起一比，你会发现这个差异非常的直观。你更要小心的是某一些很廉价的显示器，它们所宣称的8bit如果也不是硬件级别的，也不是真的，而是由6bit抖出来的，那你就等着瞧，那个色彩肯定非常糟糕，6bit每通道只能显示64种颜色。所以在你预算允许的情况下，我还是推荐大家买10bit的显示器，尽量接近于我们相机能够拍到的色彩的数量。如果你暂时没有这个预算也没关系，至少你要知道bit（误：色深）是我们衡量一个相机能拍到的色彩的数量，以及一个显示器能显示的色彩数量的一个重要指标，哪怕你就只买了一个七、八百的显示器，你也要知道你到底买到的是一个什么样的显示器。好，最后让我们回到一开始提到的有断层的蓝天的照片，为什么蓝天很容易被看出色彩的断层呢？为什么那些花里胡哨的、色彩丰富的照片反而看不出色深不够的问题呢？原因是这样子的，蓝天基本上只有蓝色，所以一个8bit的显示器就只能把这个蓝天从明到暗的分为256种蓝来显示，它三通道混在一起的1.6亿色彩根本帮不上忙，就只有256种，所以很容易暴露出问题来。越是红绿蓝的纯色的渐变，越容易暴露出这个问题。最后给个小彩蛋，我在文末放了一个我制作的红、绿、蓝三色的渐变条，你可以仔细看一看这个颜色的渐变是不是顺滑的，你可以据此来检验你的手机的屏幕，它的色深如何，显示效果够不够好。当然你也可以把它传到电脑上去或者请你的朋友和你一起打开这张图，对比一下两个不同品牌的手机之间的差异。© 叶梓好吧，今天我们就简单的先聊这么多，希望大家已经理解色深这个概念。如果大家有更多摄影问题还是欢迎在底部向我留言，我会尽力为您解答。更多摄影好课请见“阅读原文”，喜欢早自习的请点亮“在看”。今天是摄影早自习陪伴大家的第1393天，我是叶梓，每天早上6:30，微信公众号“摄影早自习”，不见不散。

Lukas Neckermann is Managing Director at Neckermann Strategic Advisors, a consultancy based in London with a focus on emerging new mobility trends and their strategic impact. He has 20 years of leadership experience in automotive, media, and financial services. He began his automotive career in BMW’s Central Marketing department in Munich, where he codeveloped the first BMW.com website, helped launch the innovative Z8 sports car, and – as an internal consultant – recommended pricing, marketing communication, and positioning strategies for BMW’s brands (BMW, MINI, Rover, Land Rover, and MG). Lukas joined Allianz in 2002, reporting to the Group’s CEO, Michael Diekmann. He rose through various strategic and line leadership functions at Allianz, including Head of Business Development for Allianz Automotive. He is an advisor to three startup companies: NEXT Future Transportation Inc. based in Silicon Valley, as well as Flock and Splyt, both based in London. Lukas is a Fellow of the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM), Adjunct Instructor at New York University, and has lectured and taught courses to executives from over 40 countries; he is frequently called upon as a keynote speaker on “The Mobility Revolution”, as well as on leadership, and innovation. What use is an F-call? A little while ago I made a commitment to myself to achieve the DXCC. Since then I've received a few questions asking what it's all about. It's an award for the DX Century Club, or said in another way, it's a recognition of making long distance contact with one hundred countries. This achievement award has a long history. The DXCC was first awarded in 1937. Before then, in 1932 discussions started on how to determine what constitutes a country. For example, are Tasmania and Australia separate or together, what about Scotland and England, or Alaska and the United States. Suffice to say that a definition was arrived at after much discussion and you can read up on it on the ARRL web-site. In case you're wondering, things change all the time. In 1935 Tasmania and Australia were separate because of geographical division, Scotland and England are two countries and Alaska and the USA are separate also because of geographical division. Most of that is the same today, except that Tasmania is no longer on its own. Countries come and go, Czechoslovakia , Dutch New Ginea and Sumatra have all been deleted over the years, South Sudan with a Z8 prefix is new as of July 14, 2011. As I started looking into this further, it transpires that there are many versions of the DXCC, specific bands, modes and combinations of both. 2012 represents the Diamond Anniversary of the DXCC and there is a special award for that as well. I've found that there is a QRP or low power version of the DXCC which fits in nicely with my Foundation License and my own views on the level of power needed to get the job done. So, QRP Portable DXCC is what I'm shooting for. Now all I need is some spare time to actually turn my radio on. I still need to learn more about the QSL process, set-up a logging system, get a plan together for finding the best way to get contacts in different areas, learn more about propagation, learn CW and make sure that my home life doesn't suffer while I'm doing this. As I said the first time around, I don't know if I am going to take a month, a year or a decade to do this, but it's a really nice way for me to focus my attention on a particular aim and has the added benefit of making me an active operator, which ultimately is what this is all about, actually turning on the radio and using it.
