They have exhibited four solo exhibitions, participated in the first triennial exhibition in St. Louis, Counterpublic 2019, and curated exhibition Pixel at the Granite City Art and Design District. Marissa has worked in communications and development roles at non-profits for the past six years, including Harvard Art Museums and the Saint Louis Art Museum. During quarantine, she pursued her random desire to learn the basics of DJing, which has resulted in creating a recurring virtual dance party fundraiser series called Boogie Knights of Quarantine with collaborator Ally Campbell. Known professionally as DJ MixRiss, she is notoriously known for exclusively using SoundCloud remixes and nostalgic early 00's suburban electronic hits. Boogie Knights are held monthly to fundraise money for important causes, past donations have gone to the Okra Project and the ACLU. Galleon and Friends remix. It's pure disco.
This week an exclusive mix from one of the hardest working and best people you can find - Dan - or as most people call him: "Scooby" Scoobyblue (Xero Tribe - LAMP) Scooby bought his first set of turntables in 1999 & in 2000 he started Code Blue Entertainment. Code Blue cut its teeth with a series of house parties in Saint Louis. The success of these led to several underground party and night club appearances. In 2003 he toured with Pomeroy for a short time and worked on several events with Phat Buddah Productions, including opening for rapper Murphy Lee. Also in 2003 the "Boogie Cruise" was born and in 2006 Jen HA & DJC joined the crew and Escape in the Beats was born. With his new found alliance, he moved to Chicago in 2008 & started 2501 Productions with the Escape crew. While there Scooby worked his way into a weekly at Beckett's Public House mixing house, soul, & breaks with funk, rock, & crowd favorites. His contract ended in 2010 and he moved back to Saint Louis to join forces with Midwest Massive & Blindfire Entertainment. In 2012 Scooby was honored to join forces with STL’s legendary Boogie Knights crew. This gave him the opportunity to give back to the crew that started his love of the scene, which continues to grow. At the end of 2014 Scooby joined a small group concerned with providing quality talent and productions for Apocalyptic events, known as Xero Tribe. With new found support Scooby continues to work and grow as a DJ and producer. Come on out on the dance floor and see how ScoobyBlue shares his love of music with any & everyone! This month, the Pub Songs Podcast is dedicated to the dragons who deserve protection. You'll hear some music from my new CD, Pirates vs. Dragons, plus some dragons songs from Brobdingnagian Bards, Boogie Knights, Gallamor The Bard, TheLoneGunman, Tania Opland and Mike Freeman's collaboration with Anne McCaffrety, and Dan the Bard. Pub Talk Pirates vs. Dragons topped the charts, climbing as high as #9 on the Top Now charts where it stayed for most of August. The album is still on sale at savedragons.com. The Medieval Virgin Join me on Concert Window on Hobbit Day, that's Thursday, September 22, 2016. I'm doing a free internet concert. The Louisiana Renaissance Festival is my home faire. They endured two devastating floods this year. The first was called hundred year flood, happening the spring. The latest is being called a 500 year flood, because it's a near impossibility that this would happen. Nevertheless, the festival was covered in 27 feet of water. Much of the faire was submerged. There's just over two months before the festival will open. They need your support to make that happen. There are three ways you can help: 1. DONATE at http://unbouncepages.com/renfest/ 2. BUY TICKETS NOW 3. LIKE my Facebook VIDEO and SHARE it with all of your friends. And ask for their help. Kilted Kings are launching a Kickstarter for our debut album "Name On My Soul". It closes on Sept 27, 2016. The music is already recorded. But we need your help to pay for duplication of the CD. Go to KiltedKings.com to support us. Big thanks to all my new Patrons on Patreon. I want to send out a special thanks to Virginia Hagan, Christopher Cornette, Andrea Lucia, Jeff Lane, Schellie Neill, Jen Wallace, Keri Hamlin, Kate Dempsey, Alexis, Elaine Hogendorfer, and Chrysilla. Thank you all for being Patrons of My Music. I made a big change to my patron site this month. There's only one level. You can pledge as little as $1 per month and get all of the content you could possibly hope for. This is an amazing way to support my music. Go to marcgunn.net for details. (RIGHT CLICK THE IMAGE TO SAVE THIS EPISODE TO YOUR COMPUTER) Aired December 21/22, 1966 Maurice Evans is the new guest villain, The Puzzler. Without even knowing the history of this story, one can see that this should have been a Riddler episode and there are many who feel the character is a poor replacement. But as you'll see in this podcast, there is a lot to recommend Puzzler as a worthy adversary for the dynamic duo and as one of the better villains created solely for the series. Of course, that's not to say this episode doesn't have its problems, that include determining if this is an established villain in the Batman 66 universe or someone entirely new, the proper definition of monopoly, and a crazed Santa Claus. On the fiction-writing side, he has more than thirty novels to his credit, along with short stories, eBooks, comic books, novellas, and nonfiction. Most of his work has been in various media tie-in universes, ranging from TV shows (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, CSI: NY, Doctor Who, Farscape, Gene Roddenberry's Andromeda, Star Trek, Supernatural, Xena, Young Hercules) to comic books (the Hulk, Spider-Man, the Silver Surfer, X-Men) to games (Classic BattleTech, Command and Conquer, Magic: the Gathering, StarCraft, World of Warcraft). Vendégünk Szabó Simon volt, akit a legtöbben a Moszkva tér nagypofájú Rojáljaként, valamint a Papírrepülők rendezőjeként ismernek. Nekünk most sikerült nem erről a két népszerű filmjéről kérdezni, hanem sok minden másról. Nézzük is sorjában! A legyőzhetetlenek (02:25) Simon nemrég tért vissza Szlovéniából, ahol A legyőzhetetlenek című ifjúsági kalandfilmben játszott szemétláda rafting-oktatót. Szóbajön Vanilla Ice is. Kacifántos életút (29:12) Simon hánykolódásai a magyar oktatási rendszerben. Reklámozzuk a film elképesztően szórakoztató Facebook-oldalát, ahol P. Koltai Gábor producer a legidiótább kommentekre is hosszasan válaszol.
