Join me, Corine La Font, Host of Between The Lines with Guest, Robert Wilson. Dissolving Pleasing Others focuses on the ways I expanded my life, to show you the way to expand yours. Dissolving Pleasing Others is written as a guide for you to discover who you are, your way. As I came to realize everything in life is temporary, I embedded everything within me, so I understand now is my time to dissolve—to release the knowledge and let go by appreciating that I am responsible for everything in my life; and by participating I am being accountable for all facets of my life. Through this, I appreciate that all my life experiences allow me to feel the emotional value of my life. I wrote Dissolving Pleasing Others to allow people to utilize my life experiences as a guide to unlock and unblock himself or herself; to uncover and discover your talents, innovation, and paths of prosperity. Allowing my writings to show you a better way to experience life; allowing you the courage and savvy to unlock your childhood and allow your dreams to mature so they can be your new “way of life.” Check our Robert's book - https://amzn.to/3J0uxrh Click this link if you like the format of this show - https://bit.ly/36z2P3z Book your 30 mins spot - http://bit.ly/2kkyCxm Leave a voice message - https://www.speakpipe.com/voiceyourfeedback Refer a guest to the show and earn 20%. Join me, Corine La Font, Host of Between The Lines with Guest, Patricia Bevilacqua. There is no cure for multiple sclerosis, and the disease is notorious for its unpredictability. As a result, women with MS often feel hopeless, helpless and face a future of uncertainty. However, women can still lead meaningful, purposeful, and joyful lives despite the trials and tribulations associated with multiple sclerosis (MS). The solution to this problem is for women with MS to embrace a positive mindset shift, and Patti Kaye Bevilacqua is living proof that this solution works. Patti Kaye Bevilacqua knows first-hand how adopting a positive mindset serves her much better than focusing on the losses she endured, and there were many. Instead of feeling depressed, angry, and disappointed when MS rears its ugly head, she lets go of the emotions and looks forward to tomorrow. In September 1989, Patti started her dream job; teaching high school physical education. She didn't believe a rookie could land the perfect job in their first year of teaching, but she did. However, five months later, before the end of her first year of teaching, she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. Ten years later, she left the only job she ever wanted due to worsening symptoms of MS. In 2001, Patti went back to university to pursue graduate studies at the University of Toronto. Her ultimate professional goal was to teach and supervise others keen to enter the same profession. In 2005, she graduated with a Ph.D. in Teacher Development. Her research focused on the impact of chronic disease on teacher identity. However, Patti never secured a tenured position as a teacher educator and went on long-term disability in 2007. Fourteen years later, Patti discovered her life with MS was far richer when she focused on living each day as her best self. This shift in mindset became her newfound purpose in life; to help other women with MS do the same. She created a fast-growing FB community; MS stands for Mindset Shift. In this community, she shares her knowledge and experiences along with valuable content and resources. According to the MS Society of Canada: • every 3 out of 4 people diagnosed with MS are women. • the country with the highest incidence of MS in the world is Canada, • the average age of diagnosis is 33 • 6,738 new people are diagnosed with MS each year - that's 562 people diagnosed every month "In the beginning, I was a good person, I liked who I was, and MS stood for multiple sclerosis. Today, I am a great person, and I love who I am because I live with MS. Consequently, MS now stands for Mindset Shift." Join me, Corine La Font, Host of Between The Lines with Burton Hughes. Burton Hughes grew up tired of hearing the words, “That's not for you,” that were so often uttered when he sought to escape his impoverished upbringing. He was a child who had endured so much that he had very little hope of getting out of his tragic and tumultuous environment. And the statistics were grim. Witnessing the near murder of his mother, only to be thrust into unfathomable grief when he lost his older and revered brother – “stole his air.” But the inner mettle and strength in Burton wouldn't die. He knew at a young age that he had a quality he couldn't yet identify residing in him. It was hope, and the relentless and deep knowledge that more was out there also gave him the push he needed to escape his old life and reinforce that he would finally decide what was for him or not. Coupled with a never-say-die work ethic, fierce intellect, and literal model good looks, Burton wasn't comfortable with his gifts. Then one horrific day, he almost lost it all. His life hung in the balance. The lowest point of his life taught him how much he had to live for: that he was called to have more in life and that people were out there waiting for him to lift them up to find their own liberation and success. Fueled by his discovery of the Six Assets of Alignment, Burton dismantled the logic of the work-life balance concept, instructing his clients instead in the art of aligning the six major assets of their lives most needing cultivation. The Assets of Mindset, Faith, Family, Fitness, Finances, and Network require varying levels of attention, according to the goal-plan devised. He lives by the Six Assets of Alignment every day and encourages people to follow his lead, knowing their own personal brand of success is waiting for them. After implementing the Six Assets of Alignment into his life, he empowered himself to establish various businesses, modeled for multiple media outlets, and coached clients in reaching their elite life goals. He continues to strive for greatness every day. His book, Align Your Empire: Using the Six Assets of Alignment as a Catalyst to Ignite Your Life is out now. https://burtonhughesofficial.com/ Burton and his family, including his three adorable daughters, live in Dallas, Texas. Approximately 10% of the world’s population ‘suffer’ from the gift of dyslexia however most of society label dyslexia a learning disorder. By concentrating on “fixing” the problem, it can make it difficult for this 10% of the population the chance to express their natural-born talents and gifts. FMRI studies show a non-dyslexic person utilizes the brain’s left-hemisphere more. This is a gift in its own right: logical, sequential, and great for literary skills, such as writing, reading, and spelling. Dyslexic people, who tend to use the right hemisphere more, are often bright, highly intelligent, and articulate but are simply unable to read, write, or spell at the level expected of them. The written word has been with us for only a short time in our long human evolution, before the advent of writing there would have been no such thing as a “dyslexic person”. Heritage breeds or rare livestock breeds were raised traditionally by our grandparents or great grandparents. The adoption of modern agricultural practices have caused these breeds to become endangered and are likely to be extinct. To know more about them and how we can save these rare livestock breeds, Cathy Payne had a discussion with Between the Lines Host, Corine La Font. Cathy is a retired teacher. After retirement, she started her home-based farm. She is passionate about heritage breeds and actively promoting biodiversity in our food system. She published her first book, ‘Saving the Guinea Hogs’ in 2019, which earned the Readers Favorite Award. Apart from guinea hogs, she is also working on saving the other rare heritage breeds. She stated that many livestock breeds are likely to be extinct if we do not take measures to save them. Using the example of heritage turkey, she said that these days 99% of turkeys are raised in factory farms, and have visibly large breasts, which affect them breeding naturally. In fact, the definition of the heritage turkey is that which can breed naturally or without any human assistance. Generally, people only want the food to be tasty and cooked well, but they don’t consider all the processes involved in the production of ingredients. Like homegrown vegetables are great in taste and have good smell and texture. The same is the case in heritage animals. They taste really good and delicious without additives. Nowadays, these heritage animals are becoming so rare that it is very hard to find them in any store or farm. Several associations are working on providing the information and awareness to the general public through their websites and newsletters, for example, The Livestock Conservancy in the USA. She further added that people should start buying the heritage turkey and other heritage animal meat, which will support the farmers and encourage them to raise these animals and breed them more. And this will ultimately help us in saving these rare livestock breeds. What You Learn: · Heritage animals exist, but they are livestock breeds and are endangered. · The more you buy heritage animal meat, the more it will encourage the farmers to breed them. · Heritage animal meat is great in taste and healthier to consume. · Different organizations are increasing the awareness of heritage animals. · Heritage animal’s meat provides you with greater satisfaction and quality, as it is coming from a completely natural process. · You should go back to the basics. Having organic things provides you more benefits. Final Thoughts: Cathy Payne and many others are working really hard to saving the rare livestock breeds and promoting biodiversity in the food industry. After knowing the benefits, you should maximize the use of heritage animals in your life and save them from being extinct. Passion is very important to keep us motivated in life. It is a source of happiness and helps us to be successful in our purpose. To find out your passion and make time for it, is supercritical. And if you want to know why passion is important and how you can make time for it, then you’re at the right place! Today, you’re going to learn from some inspirational conversation that took place on Between The Lines Radio Host, Corine La Font and Guest, Sylvia Hubbard. Sylvia Hubbard is a single mother of 3 and an Author of over 45 novels. She is also a Best-Selling Author and a Motivational Speaker and has received numerous awards and recognitions for her work. While sharing her life experiences, she stated that passion should be as important as breathing. She further added that once you’re able to find your passion, you’ll start receiving the blessings and getting the results. But to get the results, you have to put in efforts. In life, you’ll face different situations, but you should stick with your passion. Women especially after marriage and having children tend to give up on their passion; but this should never be the case! They should remain determined and motivated towards their passion, irrespective of what the circumstances are. For all the parents out there, she suggested that the parents should teach their children to live without them. When they’re grown up, this will help them a lot. If you’re an entrepreneurial mother, you should involve your children in your business so that they’ll know what it takes to make money and how to get build connections and relationships in practical life. What You Will Learn: · Everyone must have some passion in their life. · You should put enough effort to be successful in your purpose. · Whatever the situation, you have to keep moving in life. · After marriages, women should not give up on their passion. · Get your children involved in your businesses so that they have a better understanding of practical life. · Plan, Pray, and Parent. You should adopt these three rules in life to be successful. Final Thoughts: Sylvia Hubbard is an example for everyone. In her life, she has faced different situations that could have demotivated her; but she remained focused in life towards her priorities and passion and today she is a successful woman. Have you ever heard about reincarnation? It is a topic that can be new and somewhat frightening to some people. Reincarnation is a concept or belief that the non-physical essence of human beings continues to exist after their physical death and start living a new life in another body or physical form. In this episode of Between the Lines; Host, Corine La Font, explores and learn more about reincarnation from Else Byskov. Else Byskov is an author and internationally renowned in spiritual sciences. She has written 7 books, and her recently published book is ‘Reincarnation in a Nutshell’,in which she explained why reincarnation is real. First of all, she said that people are always curious to know what will happen after their death or is there any life after death. She states the main and clear reason for why reincarnation is real is that it answers all questions of life. More than just a belief and religious idea, reincarnation is an effect that we have to look at with evidence. Not just human beings but all living beings and all life forms are reincarnating. There are trillions of living materials that exist in our bodies that die and reincarnate. Just like them, we also die and reincarnate. People usually think that our physical body is our identity but in actuality, our spiritual body is what we are. It is our spiritual body that contains everything about us. Who we are, our characteristics, what we have done in life, all this will remain in our spiritual body even after physical death. Our spiritual existence is energy and this energy pulls out when we physically die. The process of reincarnation is very optimistic. We evolve continuously and after death, we come back to become more humanitarian and more beneficial for other human beings. What You will Learn: · In reincarnation, our non-physical essence remains alive after the physical death of the body. · Reincarnation is much more than just a belief or religious idea. · Our real identity is our non-physical essence or spiritual body. · Human sexual intercourse is a totally spiritual connection. · Like human beings, every living being reincarnate. · In the process of reincarnation, we continuously evolve. Final Thoughts: As you have learned from Else Byskov, reincarnation is not just a belief or concept; it is an evolving process in which every living form reincarnate after death. The Wealthy Mind Everyone wants to live a future which would be better than their past or current state; but to have a better future, you need to have a better mindset. Here, we’re going to discuss how you can move towards a wealthy mind and can shift your belief towards money, wealth, and success. In this episode of Between the Lines with Corine La Font, we had John James Santangelo. He is a certified life coach and a communication skills expert, providing his training services since 2000. Sharing his expert advice, he started from a point that before moving towards a wealthy mindset and a wonderful life, you have to determine what the true meaning of wealth means to you. For some, to have a loving and caring family can be wealth and for others, having enough money in this life can be wealth. You have to determine your meaning of wealth before moving towards success. He mentioned his book, ‘Setting Goals’, in which he teaches people how to set better and effective goals in life. He summed up the way to success in just 4 steps and said that anyone can achieve anything in life if he/she adopts these steps in the right way: 1. Outcome: Always know the destination towards which you’re moving. It means to have a clear view of your goal. 2. Action: Take actions that will move you towards your goals. 3. Awareness: Keep checking whether the actions you’re taking are working or not. 4. Flexibility: It is the most important key to success. If your actions are not moving towards your goal, you should be flexible enough to look at the other options through which you can achieve your goal. Another thing which he added is that the main reason which stops us from doing or achieving from anything is our limiting beliefs and negative thoughts inside our brain. Try to overcome these negative thoughts and instead focus on the benefits you’ll get by achieving your goal. Before moving into 2020, John suggested that doing these two things will transform your mind and will make you more purposeful in your goal. 1. Be very clear about your goal or what you want. 2. Determine the reason why you want to achieve this goal. This ‘why’ in your unconscious mind, is the motivation that will move you towards your goal. What You Learn? · Determine your goal and your meaning to wealth. · Everything in life is possible if you’re willing to achieve it. · Always take the actions that move towards your goal. · Be flexible in taking the actions, if one thing is not working, try the other one. · It is our limiting beliefs that limit us from doing things. · Be clear about what you want. · Stay focused on the reason behind your goal. It will help to keep you motivated. Final Thoughts: Once you set your goals, stay focused, and moves towards your goal in the right direction, then no one can stop you from achieving your goals. People like John are training their clients in determining their goals and having the right approach towards the goals. Twice the sales in half the time?! This may give you Goosebumps! All the entrepreneurs and business-minded individuals would be excited to know how it actually works. Corine La Font had Duane Marino, a well renowned virtual skills trainer; on her show Between the Lines. Duane is helping his clients from his vast selling and training experiences. He is a very approachable person and is available to his clients through emails, phone or text. He made one thing very clear; that bringing value to clients and the market is very crucial for the success of any business. The more value you give, the more money will you get ultimately. Making quick money should not be the top priority, especially at the starting phase of the business. Introducing his books ‘Unstoppable Attitude’, ‘Unstoppable Selling’, and ‘Unstoppable Money’, Duane said that the right attitude towards the business and relationships is the first step and the foundation of success. It is the attitude that leads towards sales and then ultimately to the money. He suggested that instead of comparing yourself with the other people, you should compare your present with the past and then evaluate the improvements you have made in this period. You should continuously evolve and this process of evolution is very important for bringing the improvements. Whether it’s a new or existing business, Duane shared four steps for making the sales effectively: 1. Attitude: Have the right attitude and believe in your capabilities. 2. Lead Generation: longer and high-quality relationships are likely to provide more conversions. 3. Product Presentations: Once a customer reaches you, provide your product presentation. 4. Follow Back: Follow-ups with the clients and the leads. What You Will Learn: · Success doesn’t come overnight; it will come at the right time and you’ll have to earn it. · You should bring value from your services or products to the clients or market and it will lead you towards success. · Don’t compete with others; always try to be a better version of yourself. · You just need to keep improving. · You should have longer and more high-quality relationships with your clients, which helps to have better sales. · The right attitude is very important for any business. Final Thoughts: It is possible to have more sales in half the time but we have to do the right things to achieve that. Divorce the Fake Self and Marry the Authentic You In this episode of Between the Lines, we’re going to talk about Divorcing the Fake Self to Marry the Authentic You. What does it mean? How does it happen? These may be the questions in your mind right now, but don’t worry; we’re going to experience it shortly. Corine La Font invited Dr. Michelle R. Hannah on her show to get the answers. Michelle is a public speaker, life coach, author, and one of the most influential women today. She has recently received her doctorate in Spiritual Counseling. During her career, she has helped almost 500 couples to say together and live a better life. She has shared her life experiences and explained how she turned out to be a person she is today. According to her, before divorcing the fake self, you have to look through your past and start determining yourself from the point where your self-concept was developed. And after that, you have to analyze who you are and what makes you happy. You should be transparent and have clear communication with yourself while doing this self-analysis. To her, authenticity means freedom. You should be free to do what you like to do. You should start enjoying your own company. Date yourself - go to the movies, shopping, dinners; just start having fun with you. This will make you independent and you’ll not need to have anyone else to be happy. She further stated that we should start forgiving the things in our life. We face different situations and people in our daily life that make us unhappy or angry. For dealing with these situations, she suggested the following three steps: 1. Forgive 2. Delete 3. Reset Forgive that situation or person, delete it from your life, and reset your mind. Like traditional marriages, she suggested that we should take self-vows or self-commitment to our life. In her book, ‘Seven Vows That Will Change Your Life’, to be released in 2019, she also mentioned her specially designed retreat program called, ‘The Self Vows Woman Retreat’. It is the next level amazing experience of taking self-vows in your life. What You Learn: · Transform yourself into a better and authentic person. · You should start enjoying your own company. · Forgiveness is very important in life. The more you forgive, the more you’ll be happy. · Always love yourself. · Add self-vows in your life. · Never regret or wait for things to happen. Always do what you want at the moment. Final Thoughts: Now you can transform from a fake self to an authentic person. If you still have some queries or want to contact Dr. Michelle R. Finding Lasting Love Love is a feeling that brings positive energy and keeps us happy in our life. But finding real love which remains with you forever can be the best thing that happened in someone’s life. And for this, your favorite radio host Corine La Font had an interesting dialogue with Amy Schoen on her show, Between the Lines. Amy Schoen is a recognized dating and relationship expert who has been helping her clients find lifelong partners since 2014. As a certified professional life coach, she has helped hundreds of individuals in making their relationships successful. In this interview, we sought to discover whether lasting love exists, and if yes, then how can we find it? First of all, she revealed that most of us as entrepreneurs and self-employed persons, remain so very involved in our work all the time and we don’t put our energy and efforts into finding and maintaining the relationships. Our relationship should be one of our top priorities. We should always try to find a person who is dating for the same reasons, she further added. It means, the person you’re dating, should have the same intentions and plans for the relationship. Don’t let the things happen on the chance. If any reasonable person is approaching you to be in a relationship, be open and accept that person in your life. We should take our relationships seriously and should make proper plans like we make plans for our business. Amy also develops custom-made dating plans for her clients, which helps them in taking the right step at the right time. Furthermore, she suggested that online dating is an effective and successful way to find a perfect partner, but if properly managed. Amy is also helping in identifying the real candidates and saves their clients from being trapped by the scammers. According to her, three things that should be considered and made clear before dating a person are: 1. Both persons should have the same life goals. 2. Relationship values for both the persons should be known. 3. Communicate your ‘must-haves in life’ to your partner. Whatever your past experiences are, you have to move on and allow the right person to enter your life. This will be a new journey and can be a long-lasting love in your life. What You Learn: · To be in a relationship with a compatible person makes your life beautiful. · Relationships or dating should be planned properly. · Be ready to accept relationships and love in life. · You can find the right person from online dating. · Things to be considered while dating someone. · You should make time and space for the person you love. · Be open and let go of the past. · You should make investments in yourself to be happy. Final Thoughts: As we come to know, real love exists and finding lasting love is still possible. With some expert tips and guidance, you can find the perfect match for you and can enjoy the true meaning of life. If you’re looking to find lasting love or want to make your existing relationship successful, visit www.motivatedtomarry.com and take advantage of Amy Schoen’s experiences and expert advice. How old do you think most writers are? Some think that a book author needs to be experienced to write amazing books, but this is so not true! Roxanne San Jose was only 25 when she started writing. She self-published her first book, “Annagram”, in 2015. She received a publishing contract with her second book, “Time Travel”, through Avid Publishing LLC. This story is about a girl who invented the time-traveling machine. We chatted about her life, her passion for writing and the obstacles she has faced throughout her career. Roxanne’s parents moved to the USA, Las Vegas, from the Philippines when she was only 13. She had to learn a new language and adapt to the new environment. Roxanne shared her experience and the lessons she learned along the way: ● Be creative - come up with a great story ● Work hard - don’t be lazy; it always takes hard work to achieve success ● Be friendly with people - you never know who will help you along the way ● Don’t give up - when Roxanne’s first book didn’t receive a contract, she published it herself Roxanne and I agreed that it’s best to start writing earlier than later. And if you didn’t start early, better start later than never. If you want to write a book, now is the time! Angela Day is an Alabama-based certified transformational coach. As someone who went through a personal family-related heartbreak, she certainly knows how to heal relationships. In her book, “Love the Hell out of Folks”, she describes her own story. Her mother didn’t care for her, and it took Angela a lot of reflection and love to understand why. Turns out, the hurt was generational, as her mother’s mother didn’t care for her child either. In a way, neglect was not personal - her mother just didn’t know any better. It took Angela 38 years to truly connect with her mom. How did she manage to do it? She accomplished it with the help of God and Love. No matter what her mother did, Angela continued to love her. Why did she do it? Because not forgiving and being bitter is not in her nature. “It’s not all about you”, she recalls. God wants us to be forgiving, kind, and respectful. She follows this simple idea, and that’s how she honors God. Angela is also thankful for other wonderful women in her life who called her daughter and sister. To her, that was a sign that God was out there looking out for her. She feels blessed with all the loving people in her life that reinforced her belief in God, love, and kindness. James Hill is a book author and an owner of a publishing company. He has traveled quite a journey since the last time he was on the show! It’s funny how you can see your life journey form and take shape over the years. You can trace every decision you make and every opportunity you choose to take to who you are now. James’ extensive background in writing, computer science, insurance selling, and even doing the paper route all added up to what he does now: publishing books. As colleagues, it was nice to talk about our field, and what publishers deal with when working with book writers. This is what we discussed: ● Writing vs Selling - what’s harder? ● Writer’s unrealistic revenue goals ● Name recognition and how to get your brand out there ● His personal motivation to start publishing books ● The stigma around being a small independent publishing company ● Why not every book is ready for the public and how to fix that ● The importance of passing it forward and connecting people who work in your field ● The importance of understanding the timeline. You didn’t get where you are in just one day, allow yourself time to complete your next goal! ● How to submit a book to a publisher ● Some common mistakes authors make when submitting their manuscript (hint: read the rules!) Loss of a loved one always feels tragic. Barbara Harrison had to face the passing of her husband, and after that, she had to endure a painful journey of finding a new normal. She was generous enough to share her experience with me. These are the tips she offers to anyone who is going through the loss: ● Get help. You think you are strong enough, but it isn’t the healthiest approach to grief. ● Get a support network. Rally your family, your friends, medical professionals who will support you on the journey to a new life. ● Give it time. Allow yourself to grieve and face the pain on your own terms. ● Get yourself out of the house. Go to the movies, dinners, cruises - embrace new experiences and start seeking joy again. Finding a new way of living is hard because all you want is for life to go back to normal. However, the old normal does not exist anymore. You have to create something new that will fill your life with joy and purpose. Barbara, for example, took up pottery painting and started writing books. Her debut, “Get Out Now!” is a novel touching on the sensitive subject of marital abuse and psychological transformation. Barbara writes stories that are close to her heart. Even though the plot is purely fictional, it is based on several real-life stories that Barbara has witnessed in the life of her friends. Also, her second novel is waiting to be published. Steven Howard is an award-winning author of 20 books. He is also a certified coach and leadership expert. As someone who has trained over 10,000 leaders internationally, Steven is sure that great leaders are made rather than born. He knows that everyone (provided they are interested in it) can be a good leader, but being a great leader requires skill and training. According to Steven, different times call for different types of leaders. In the 1970s, it was all about assertiveness and strength. Those are great traits for anyone who is commanding military or rescue units. However, that style of leadership can prove to be inflexible in most circumstances. The leaders of the 1990s were all about personality and ego. Competition driven people such as Steve Jobs and Bill Gates seemed to have “larger than life” personality. They inspired people to follow their lead. However, a company can go through a rough patch when “The Infallible Leader” fall. The leaders of now require a different set of skills. According to Steven, they should: ● See each team member as an individual and lead each of them in a different way ● Be willing to be vulnerable and admit their mistakes if need be ● Be humble enough to share credit with their team ● Trust their team ● Have the ability to listen ● Develop teammates into leaders rather than followers Listen to this interview to learn how parenting is similar to leadership. Anyone who’s ever published a book knows that writing it makes up only a tiny fraction of all the work that goes into it. Becky Norwood is a CEO of “Spotlight on Your Business” agency that helps both young and established authors to promote their work and make their book launch successful. We chatted about the common problems authors face when preparing for the launch of the new book. We also discussed a few ways to solve them! This is some of the knowledge that Becky shared: ● Most writers don’t want to spend money and time on marketing, but they have to understand that it is inevitable. ● Your new book is a business - so treat it like one! ● Planning is the key. Make sure to know your timeline! ● The timeframe of at least 3 months is required for a successful book launch, but 6 months allow more work to be done. ● Marketing doesn’t need to be all-consuming, but it does need to be consistent. ● Embrace offline promotional opportunities: speaking engagements, library meet-ups and book signings. ● Connect with others in your field. ● Reviews are paramount! There are ways to get them before the launch. Do it to generate momentum! ● A book launch is a big event, but your brand marketing should continue before, during, and after that big event. ● Your story needs to be heard. Don’t let minor challenges get in the way of that! Nothing worth having ever comes easy… Bill and Patricia Clum know it from their own experience. Bill had to start over after a hurricane in his home state of Texas. He was 60 years old when he lost everything he has ever worked for, and that was a transformative experience for him. It was also humbling for someone like Bill to not be able to just write checks anymore - and this is how he learned to let go of his ego. Both Patricia and Bill found God before they met each other. They were both recovering from previous relationships and were based in different countries (the USA and Canada). Their relationship is based on love for God, self-discovery, and collaboration. These are some of the gems that Bill and Patricia have shared with us: ● We all feel joy and grief. The only question is what you’re going to do with it. ● Negative experiences teach us to surrender. That’s how the question “Why me?” turns into “Why not me?” ● Feeling the darkness consuming you and not seeing the way is really an opportunity to restart. ● People learn compassion and kindness when they lose abundance ● When people hurt, they often seek something external to fix (i.e. appearance). Fixing it, of course, never addresses the bigger issue. Aleechea is such a fascinating person! She is a pastor, a police chaplain, a musician, and a writer. Sounds like Aleechea has an incredibly busy life, doesn’t it? In her book, “Let It Go for Your Sake! Forgive!”, Aleechiea describes the healing power of forgiveness. She says that people have to do it for their own sake, simply to move on and to live the rest of their life in peace. She makes an important point that forgiving someone doesn’t make their actions right. Neither it creates excuses - instead, it just relieves you of your own burden. The other person will have to deal with their sins and actions on their own. These are some of the ideas Aleechea shared with me: ● You might never get an apology ● Try not to go to bed angry with people; it is destructive ● We have to choose to forgive ● Childhood wounds are best cured with counsel ● Sometimes we act based on our old traumas rather than react to what’s here in front of us ● God gave us all our emotions; it’s not what you feel that is a sin but what you do with it ● You can’t make someone forgive, people have to be ready for it ● There are consequences to how we live our lives; choosing to forgive or not forgive has its consequences These are some lovely mantras that Aleechea uses in her work: ● Be better, not bitter ● Victim to victor ● Forgive to live ● God hasn’t given up on you, so don’t give up on Him Check our Aleechea’s website and her wonderful book here: https://www.aleecheapitts.com/ You can also book a spot with Corine La Font on her radio show “Between The Lines”: https://wiseintro.co/corinelafont --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/between-the-lines-network/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/between-the-lines-network/support

She has done some amazing things in her life: After a short visit in Sweden to reset her soul matrix, Dr. Eivor is back in the USA as a Life Coach and Executive Consultant. I was fascinated with Eivor’s ability to talk about both practical and spiritual things. We talked about ego, the valley of the shadow of death, the dark night of the soul, glass ceiling, and vision and mission for both personal life and business. These are some of the wise thoughts that Eivor shared with me: ● Old ways cannot open new doors ● We are here to celebrate life ● Fear manifests itself in life that is not truly authentic ● So many people live their lives through their past, fearing the present and not having either mission or vision for their future ● To lose your ego, you should be willing to lose everything valuable in your life ● You only know who you truly are by staring at yourself when you have nothing ● You can redirect the emotional charge of ego towards helping other people and creating new things ● You have to know who you really are to create a successful business that passes the test of time ● Glass ceiling applies to any limitations that a person has ● Most of the limitations are self-imposed This is Eivor’s website: https://eivorjohansson.com Click the link to get her free assessment! Kae and I chatted about branding and its utmost importance in the modern world. This interview will be a goldmine for anyone who’s interested in starting and promoting their business. No matter if you are selling your own skills or representing a company, it should be clear what you do from the get-go, right? Kae explained the difference between marketing strategy and branding. As it turns out, the best way to summarize the dissimilarity between both is this: “What you should learn” vs “What it should feel like”. Do listen to the interview if you would like to know exactly what it means! There is a lot of theoretical knowledge that goes into the exploration of both marketing strategies and branding. We can use abbreviations and fancy terms such as SWOT analysis, the 5 P’s or taglines, but all this hard work boils down to one simple question: do your customers and prospective clients know who you are and what you do? Kae elaborated on some intricate branding topics: ● What are the 8 branding blocks that every brand should have figured out ● What is a brand promise ● Why the price (high OR low) is not always the most important factor in the buyers’ eyes ● Amazing (and entertaining!) case studies on how to turn a brand around Kae Wagner has over 3 decades of helping people with their brands. Have you ever wondered what it takes to get published? Athina Paris has all the answers! As both a writer and editor-in-chief for RockHill Publishing, she knows what makes a book attractive. Athina and I chatted about her experience in both professions. As a writer, Athina focuses on character development as a way to carry a story forward. All of her 4 published books are in the Romance category, so we discussed how every story is really a love story. She also shared: ● Why Romance is a positive genre ● How to balance traditionally male and female traits such as assertiveness and softness in characters ● Why it’s important to write down ideas as soon as they come ● Why most authors are multitaskers As editor-in-Chief, Athina works hard on finding great new books worth being published. She revealed the 3 key elements that make a great book: 1. Writer’s desire - as a writer, you should be interested in whatever the book’s theme is 2. Publisher’s standards - that includes plot continuity, character development, as well as grammar and punctuation 3. Readers’ expectations - any writer wants to reach as many people as they can; follow the current trends and research your reader’s interests to create a bestseller! Athina is a wonderful, shy, and well-spoken woman who is so obviously in love with her craft! She has so much to share and teach, speaking with her was a delight! Justin Pogue is a San Jose, California based real estate consultant and author. As a real estate developer and manager, he is sure that not all the power is in the landlord's hands. We had a very practical conversation with Justin, and this is what I learnt: ● That one bad resident can ruin an otherwise sound investment ● Always check out the new place you want to move into on a weekend night - is it civil, is it as quiet as advertised? ● Why co-sharing is the best option for young adults ● Why Airbnb is really a great opportunity (and trust us, it’s not all about the money!) ● That you can live rent-free if you make mutually benefiting arrangement with the property owner ● Being a great renter might actually pay - or rather save you money long-term ● What is social capital and why it is so important ● Why understanding the landlord’s side of things will give you leverage in negotiating your lease renewal ● Why planning ahead will save you money when looking for a new place to rent Justin’s experience is quite vast in the real estate business. He is sure that the knowledge he shares is universal; it applies to both big and small cities, urban and rural areas, his native country USA and anywhere else in the world. Childhood trauma, generational curse are incredibly serious issues that far too many people deal with. On the surface, everything is just fine, but you can see how things are not always right up close. Anite says that she was moved to write her book “Family Is Not Everything” by her coworkers, who always seemed more distracted and unsettled after supposedly fine time with family during the big holidays. So she had a thought: what if a family is not everything? What if people that you never got to choose are not really looking out for your best interest? What if they are the source of your pain and the cause of your suffering? We talked about: ● Her proven 7 step method to beat emotional baggage ● Her personal experience with family members that the book is based on ● The stigma of admitting that your family is not OK ● Reasons why people keep coming back for more abuse even when they realize how bad things are ● Signs of maturity in people (regardless of their age) ● Challenges of finding companionship after being burned by the closest people Now Anita helps others to find that inner peace with their family experience, happiness, and fulfillment. History is such a fascinating topic! I’m absolutely sure of it after my conversation with Steve Snyder. We discussed his book “Shot Down”, World War 2 legacy, and the inspirational life story of his father. Howard Snyder went MIA during World War II when he was flying over French/Belgium border. “Shot Down” focuses on his experience as he and his crew members were trying to survive in a foreign occupied country. This is the story of resilience, bravery, and love. This story does more than just documents the events in Belgium. It uncovers the relationship with the family back at home. After all, Howard had a child at home, and his wife was pregnant again. The book features a number of love letters between Steve’s mother and father, and that sentiment gives the book a whole different dimension. It’s easy for us, civilians, to read war stories and feel detached. X went to Y country for Z reason, this and that happened. But put yourself in the shoes of this family that was affected by the war: the breadwinner of the family was drafted into the war on foreign land. Letters were the only form of communication, and one had to wait weeks to hear from the loved ones. And worse of all, there were no guarantees that a new letter would ever arrive. How chilling is that? Those were the times unlike now. Steve and I chatted about the difference technology makes in communication and how it has different value now that it is abundant. There are 2 sides to each coin, right? Tom Corner is a wonderful man on a journey for aligned and conscious living. He lives his life surrounded by women - he has a wife and 3 daughters. Tom published 5 books, some of them based on his family. In a memoir “Mommy, Why Do You Have Two Birthdays?” he describes his wife Pam being diagnosed with a stage four Non-Hodgkin lymphoma, her journey towards health, and his thoughts on disease and the healing (mental and physical) process. During our honest conversation, we chatted about ● Tom’s journey to become a better father, husband, and community member ● Publishing books about goals for kids ● Childhood being the source of most traumas ● Willing to be vulnerable and openly asking for help ● Bad habits of suppressing emotions such as anger that lead to sickness ● Daughter’s Spelling Bee experience leading to a talk about self-love and appreciation ● Adopting “Gave it my best” attitude instead of destroying self-confidence after each mistake ● How negative thoughts are similar to a mosh pit at a rock concert ● And last but not least, how change should happen without expectations and attachment Honestly, this whole interview should be used for quotes. Sarah Katz is a fascinating young woman! She works in the intricate field of cybersecurity during the day and moonlights as a sci-fi writer. We chatted about her passion for science fiction (Star Trek Deep Space 9, anyone?) and discussed how crazy it is to live in the world that was envisioned by sci-fi authors of the past. We also came to the conclusion that the more things change, the more things stay the same. Sarah gave some amazing tips on how to break into sci-fi writing and succeed in it: 1. Do your market research! As an author, you don’t want to work on a premise that has been done before or have a dangerous overlap in the progression of the storyline. 2. Have people beta-read your manuscript to weed out grammar mistakes and plot inconsistencies. You can get away with plenty of fictional circumstances as long as the plot has continuity that makes sense. 3. Know who your audience is. Like any genre, sci-fi has its sub-genres such as evolution, genetic engineering, space travel, artificial intelligence, etc. It is important not to put too much on the readers’ plate and stick to a consistent story. Another amazing point she made was about creating a visual aid for your book. Sometimes it’s hard for a reader to imagine a whole new universe, so help them see it! A cinematic book trailer can spike up the interest in your work and possibly even lead to a movie or TV option! Sarah’s debut sci-fi novel is called Apex 5. You can find it on Amazon.
