Moisés Kopper's Architectures of Hope: Infrastructural Citizenship and Class Mobility in Brazil's Public Housing (U Michigan Press, 2022) examines how communal idealism, electoral politics, and low-income consumer markets made first-time homeownership a reality for millions of low-income Brazilians over the last ten years. Drawing on a five-year-long ethnography among city planners, architects, street-level bureaucrats, politicians, market and bank representatives, community leaders, and past, present, and future beneficiaries, Moisés Kopper tells the story of how a group of grassroots housing activists rose from oblivion to build a model community. He explores the strategies set forth by housing activists as they waited and hoped for—and eventually secured—homeownership through Minha Casa Minha Vida's public-private infrastructure. By showing how these efforts coalesced in Porto Alegre—Brazil's once progressive hotspot—he interrogates the value systems and novel arrangements of power and market that underlie the country's post-neoliberal project of modern and inclusive development. By chronicling the making and remaking of material hope in the aftermath of Minha Casa Minha Vida, Architectures of Hope reopens the future as a powerful venue for ethnographic inquiry and urban development. Moisés Kopper is Research Professor at the Institute of Development Policy, University of Antwerp. Alize Arıcan is a Society of Fellows Postdoctoral Scholar at Boston University and an incoming Assistant Professor of Anthropology at CUNY—City College, focusing on urban life, futurity, care, and migration.
The trailers were STUFFED, the cash was HOT, and the bikes were plentiful! Kopper Keg has it going on, and it was so awesome to see them come together today to give back to our community. You guys ROCK!
It can not only be difficult but completely terrifying to put yourself out there and market with vulnerability. Fortunately, Michelle Kopper, leading voice expert has a ton of experience, ideas and techniques to help you get there.
Men hvorfor egentligt flere?

On this week's episode, I sit down with Sabrina Hill. Sabrina is one of the hardest-working people I know. She's a business owner, a single mum and a TV personality but above all, she is a wonderful person. I ask Sabrina about her life before Instagram, becoming pregnant on Aaron and why she got into hairdressing, and her journey to Kopper. Sabrina tells me about her ups and downs and how CBT therapy saved her life in her 20s and the lessons she has learned that have made it to the Sabrina she is today. We talk about her people, her ride or die her friends and we chat about her lovely parents Sabrina‘s attitude is infectious and I know the best is yet to come. Hosted on Acast. Lately, we talk quite a bit about Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, and Extended Reality. Plenty of Sci-fi books, video games, and movies have helped us think and fantasize about them, but is this still a vision for the future, or is it a reality that is actually here now?Well, it is here and is pretty good already. Not perfect, not quite The Metaverse yet, but it is starting to take shape and is used successfully for many applications, from training to mental health, to gaming, driving, etc.In this episode, we learn a bit of history, where we stand, what are the differences between VR, AR, and XR, and what researchers are doing to improve user experience and push the boundaries of what is reality and what is not — really! :)Push play and enjoy! ______________________________GuestRegis KopperOn Linkedin | https://www.linkedin.com/in/regiskopper/ On Twitter | https://twitter.com/regisvt ______________________________ResourcesRegis' Published Work: scholar.google.com/citations?hl=en&user=t2b9KXsAAAAJ&view_op=list_works&sortby=pubdate______________________________ This Episode's SponsorsBlue Lava

The Blades fik sæsonens første sejr hjemme over Newcastle.

In this episode, hosts Lyssa Wales and Shelia Galligan speak with Michelle Kopper. Michelle is a leading voice video and visibility expert who has facilitated thousands to find their true voice. They discuss: – Michelle shares her journey and how she became who she is today. – Many people with a calling to make a difference have some sort of level of inexplicable fear. – There are 3 steps to transformation. Awareness, acceptance, action. – If you have fear, uncertainty or confusion find a mentor to help you. – You have to accept where you are and how you are feeling without judgment. – Make sure you take action, find support and stay on the path to a more positive outlook on life. – It is important to be visible such as being on podcasts, Facebook lives, videos, etc. – Inner transformation happens through “doing.” – Feeling safe and secure without judgment is important to your inner transformation. – Transformative witnessing is when you see others in the same vulnerability and lift it up. It is incredibly healing and powerful. – Relating to others who are feeling scared and vulnerable will help you support and uplift each other during tough times. – Tapping into and sharing your own unique story can help build your confidence and help with your transformation. – An important part of your inner transformation is to “get loud.” Find ways to get your message across whether it is your Facebook lives, your book, etc. – When pitching a podcast abandon the salesy pitch and talk about inspiration and invitations. It makes your pitch more natural and able to flow into the next step of your conversation. – When you feel like you are not reaching your audience make sure to stay visible and look at your strategy and how you are using your visibility to lead to different invitations. – Make sure you always say it out loud and help people understand what you’re sharing or wanting to bring as your message. – In order to reach your audience, you should make campaigns, get the word out, offer a free gift, etc. to make your audience want to work with you and take the next step with you. – In order to have an inner transformation, you need to have a system and the support. – Your voice is the most important tool you have to change the world and make the life you want. – Michelle is offering her powerful presence quiz for free on her website. – Michelle is running her visibility power up challenge on her Facebook page, which is a 5-day mini-course. – You can reach Michelle on her website michellekopper.com or her email michelle@michellekopper.com About Michelle Kopper Michelle Kopper is a leading Voice, Video, and Visibility expert who has facilitated thousands of people to find and free their true voice so that they unlock the power and impact of their unique Transformational Message to give voice to their vision online, onstage, and on video. Do you sometimes feel closed off to the idea of being sold, or even personally selling a product or service? The word “selling” often is associated as purely an act of forcing people to buy your products and services; however, Michelle Kopper, a leading voice, video, & visibility expert, takes the idea of selling, and transforms it as a way of creating connection. For Michelle, selling is serving and she encourages others to embrace self-promotion in this light. In this episode, Michelle shares her expertise to help you align your voice and create a bigger impact and contribution. Michelle also talks about some of the biggest belief mistakes that others have around selling, and offers strategies and some encouragement on networking.
With Adam Crandell still migrating his way back from the shore (in podcast time 3 hours = 1 week episode), Jeremy and Kurt sip on Belmont Farm's Kopper Kettle Virginia Whiskey. It's a nice, light sipping whiskey with an easy after taste. It's got some unusual notes, which of course our producer Gideon highlights for us. We also discuss: Common misconceptions of being a lawyer I Can't Believe It's Not Baltimore: Badass Judge tears off his robes and chases after escaping inmates (direct link to the amazing video here). Flashing a gun at a deposition is really mean and not nice and can get you sanctioned in Nevada. Judicial Robing Chip Wallets (see below) Eventually Adam Crandell made it back and didn't even get stopped by border patrol on the Bay Bridge. Welcome him back from his epic, week long journey. Lawyers on the Rocks features Jeremy Eldridge, Kurt Nachtmanand Adam Crandell. This triumvirate of lawyers will give you their unsolicited opinion on everything legal and illegal, while enjoying a handcrafted cocktail. Lawyers on the Rocks is sponsored by the Law Office of Eldridge, Nachtman & Crandell, LLC and produced by Up Next Creative, LLC.
In this episode, Michelle Kopper talks about growing up with severe shyness but feeling the calling to perform. She shares with us the painstaking journey of proving the the world and to herself that she could do it. She describes being on stage to sing a song and becoming completely paralyzed with fear - not able to sing a note! Ultimately she becomes a professional performer and teacher but realized she still had 'baggage' about being seen and heard. She knew her calling was to be a performer and not being able to fulfill that calling at the time lead to her feeling as if she's failing God, spirit ... a higher power. She describes her downward spiral as she began to self medicate with drugs and alcohol as she fought deep feelings of being frightened, frustrated and discouraged. Tune in to hear how Michelle went from playing small to standing tall as an amazing performer, teacher and coach. How to Make a Big Shift in Your Life Give voice to your experience. LET'S RIDE OUR BIKES TO SEE: Ovarian Psycos at Hollywood Theater: January 28, 2018 @ 7pm From the Community Cycling Center: "The film "Ovarian Psycos" rides along with the Ova's, exploring the impact of the group's activism, born of feminist ideals, Indigenous understanding and an urban/hood mentality, on neighborhood women and communities as they confront injustice, racism, and violence, and take back their streets one ride at a time." From Friends on Bikes: "Ovarian Psyco-Cycles is a women of color cycling group in East L.A. that creates safer streets for women, and gives a voice to those who are disempowered. They inspire us to be strong, resilient and fight for our beliefs as a woman of color." Meet up: Ex Novo @ 5:30 pm. Details here. Film: Hollywood Theater @ 7 pm | Tickets to benefit the Community Cycling Center Ovarian Psycos - Teaser from Sylvia Frances Films on Vimeo. Here's another fantastic clip in this OPB article. Friends, you know I believe in the transformative power of the bike, in our personal lives, our communities, and the world at large. I would be super grateful if you'd leave a rating or review in iTunes, Stitcher, or via whatever method you listen. It helps more gals find the show, and I believe the more stories we share, the more women who ride, we make this world - both our internal and external worlds - better with every revolution. Also, I read 5-star reviews out on the show because I love you. Ratings and reviews help with that, but nothing is better than a personal referral, it'd be rad if you would share the show with even just one woman who you think might dig it. Never forget, "Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage." Keep moving forward and until next time I hope you enjoy the ride. Forever Forward! xo ~C
