Our favorite vegan foods in Magic Kingdom are the meatless sloppy joe at Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe, the Curried Vegetable Crew Stew at Skipper Canteen, the Impossible Meatloaf from Liberty Tree Tavern, and the Veggie Rice Bowl at Pecos Bill's Tall Tale Inn and Cafe. At EPCOT we highly recommend eating Vegan at Le Cellier and trying the Steamed Asian Dumplings, or ANYTHING at the Earth Eats Booth at the Food and Wine Festival. At Hollywood Studios, there's vegan food at the Brown Derby and vegan meals at Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo. The vegan dish at the Hollywood Brown Derby is Ginger-Lemongrass Pho. AMAZING. However, the best vegan at Hollywood Studios (IMO) is the Felucian Kefta and Hummus Garden Spread. So flavorful, so filling, and mind-blowing for a vegan counter service meal at Disney. At Animal Kingdom be sure to hit up Satu'li Canteen to build your own bowl with fried tofu. There are also vegan food options at Tiffins, Tusker House, Harambe Market, Flame Tree Barbecue, and even Restaurantosaurus. Be sure to check out some of our previous shows!  While you are listening, please browse through our entire album of ephemera. We have tons in there and if you click this link, be ready for an adventure that could take up an entire evening. Also, let us know if you have any images you would like to add to this collection, as we are working to make it very comprehensive.  Comments & Corrections Last month we had the great food and menu episode and the response was great. Thanks for all the feedback and items shared relating to food stories, menus, and anything else. It sure was fun to sift through and see how much everybody enjoyed it! Zach wrote in about the breakfast at the Top of the World. His mother chimed in on this memory and confirmed this as well. Thanks so much for the help Zach! Brian also discusses the champagne brunch up there, which was also confirmed. We next heard from Brian all about the Trophy Room. He tells us about this being a buffet, menu service and then a ticket center type of location. Our Brian gets you some info on this and also reminds us to check out the Golf Resort/Shades of Green Episode we did a number of years back. Linda is next discussing crepes, onion soup in cast iron kettles at Liberty Tree Tavern, and also our album of the Crystal Palace from the mid-70s. Linda also remembers some selections from the Adventureland Veranda. Joe writes in about the Sandtrap Restaurant being a hidden gem at WDW. The 18th hole of both courses are visible and the air conditioning was top notch. Joe also tells us there was an official WDW weather channel showing the radar and weather forecast, specifically by Disney. Finally, Bioreconstruct reaches out about the question we had last month, regarding the Peoplemover and where it is stored. Well, he took a look for us and informed us of what he found. How gives us some more info on this and we discuss in detail. Take a listen to last month’s episode if you would like to get caught up with us. Listener Mail Right to the mailbag this month! The bag is full and we love that! Every month, you can possibly get on the show, so be sure to write to us at podcast@retrowdw.com. We first heard from Jen Miller discussing how she is a Disneyland fan, but she also lived down in Florida. Believe it or not, her father was an actual animator at The Disney-MGM Studios! She even would walk around during operating hours and take in the animators practicing their craft. She shares tons of great memories in this amazing email, along with a couple of quick questions – thank you so much! Craig wrote us next about Mickey’s Retreat. He wanted to tell us all about his experience and what he saw and did there.  Thanks, Craig! Questions, Comments & Concerns We love feedback and hearing your memories! Drop us a line at podcast@retrowdw.com or call us and leave a voice mail at 978-71-RETRO. You can also find us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Audio Rewind Our audio rewind this month is from Spaceship Earth – Thank you for all the guesses and emails! We have a winner! Congratulations David Andrews!  – you will be getting a bunch of great Ephemera! – hope you enjoy! If you think you know the answer to this month’s audio rewind, email us! contest@retrowdw.com – This month, the winner will be getting a party package! All entries are due 7/20/2020 and a random winner will be selected. Main Topic This month, we are taking you back to the ephemera and this is also guided by you, our listeners. We got some amazing and interesting stuff from our listeners and fans which we couldn’t believe! Ephemera defined by us and most everybody else are things that aren’t souvenirs or sold items. These small items like ticket stubs, napkins, brochures, paper items, and things that aren’t really meant to be kept. Is the biggest and most common piece of ephemera tickets? Well, Todd gets us into some ticket history and items, mostly brought to us from AllEars.net – tons of amazing information here, so check them out! Throughout this episode, we start you off in 1971 and work our way up. The tickets changed yearly in prices, type, size, and even security measures. Brian gives us a great story which relates to all of us, our parents throwing away ephemera and ‘trash’ – I’ll bet you all have a similar story where something valuable got thrown out by mom or dad. After our ticket walkthrough, we each go through some different items we find interesting and we also get to hear from some of our listeners and what they have. We hear about the Pirate’s Point Excursion, a complimentary Discovery Island/Pleasure Island ticket, the cast Christmas parties, a Fort Wilderness info sheet taken from the resort, some Canadian sweepstakes winner paperwork, and so much more. We hope you enjoy this look back at some vintage paperwork and ephemera!-Follow along and look through our ephemera collection here- Friend of the Site Check out David Coolidge’s new website: https://www.davidcoolidge.com/ 2020: The Year of Film To make sure you are the first to know when items are released, subscribe to us on YouTube. This is a special episode recorded at the Liberty Tree Tavern in Elgin, TX a couple weeks ago. I was joined by two co-hosts, Buck Johnson of the Death to Tyrants Podcast and Bobby Pearson of the Not For Everyone Podcast. We went to the Liberty Tree Tavern because we wanted to chat with the owner of the bar, Kevin Smith. Kevin instituted a "no masks allowed" policy at the Liberty Tree Tavern a few weeks prior to our interview, when most people were still freaked out about dying from COVID-19. As you can imagine, the mob came after him. He received threats, doxxing, and all of the usual scare tactics the fundamentalist left likes to use. He also gained a lot of support from locals and people from all over coming into his bar and wanting to tip big and give him their business. Kevin shares stories from his days with Alex Jones and the Ron Paul Revolution. Also, just to add to the environment of a live, on-scene recording, there are two scuffles that break out WHILE we are recording the podcast. We also do a Q&A session at the end.

We are at the Liberty Tree Tavern because I wanted to have the owner of the bar, Kevin Smith, on the show. He received threats, doxing, and all of the usual scare tactics the fundamentalist left likes to use. He also gained a lot of support from locals and people from all over coming into his bar and wanting to tip big and give him their business.  Today's podcast is a look at the restaurants that I personally am not that fond of, and probably won't return to - given the plethora of choices that exist around the resort. Its not that any of them are bad, its about the bang for the buck, given my tastes and what they offer. Its really about how, IMHO, they miss the mark in some way. For some of them, its the way they use their space, for some its the food, and for a few the "experience" is great but its off for some reason. Now I know that - probably - no one will agree with my list in its entirety, and I'm sure some will think I left off a restaurant. But I wanted to throw out my list and get the conversation started. #10: Mickeys backyard bbq / Hoop De Doo #9: Tony's Town Square #8: Garden Grill #7: Liberty Tree Tavern #6: Pizza Planet #5 O'hana (breakfast) #4: Chef Mickeys (dinner) #3 1900 Park Fare (breakfast) #2: Cinderella's Royal Table #1: 50's Primetime Cafe Have a restaurant you feel this way about? The Mad Chatters Podcast | Walt Disney World and Around the Disney Universe

2019 marks the 60th anniversary of the very first roller coaster to open at a Disney park: the Matterhorn Bobsleds. Disneyland was open for four years before it got its first coaster, and when the mountain-themed attraction debuted, it was anything but your average, off-the-shelf ride. In fact, it was the first tubular steel coaster in the world! That attraction was the first in an iconic lineup of roller coasters that would eventually be introduced at the U.S. Disney parks, and on this week’s show we work our way chronologically through all 12 of them. Join us and special guest Courtney Guth as we discuss the impact and legacy of the Disney coasters and how we feel each one succeeds as a Disney attraction. Also on episode 212, we review some of our recent meals at Ale & Compass, Liberty Tree Tavern, and Olivia’s Cafe. Plus, we have some fun with the hashtag #DisneyfyDisney by adding Intellectual Properties to original Walt Disney World attractions and restaurants. Come join the fun! Be sure to find Courtney online and let her know you enjoyed hearing her on the show! Podcast: Book of the Mouse Club Twitter: @Courtney_Guth *We apologize for the audio issues you’ll hear throughout this episode.   Liberty Tree Tavern Restaurant Review Location: Magic Kingdom The service at Liberty Tree Tavern was really good and the restaurant has a nice family feel.  Liberty Tree Tavern is family style so everything comes to the table to share. The food was average and similar to what you might get at Thanksgiving at home if your granda makes Thanksgiving out of a box from the freezer section.  Some items we enjoyed but many we did not, please listen to the Mouse Chat podcast for details. Overall there are many better locations to spend a Disney Dining Table Service credit if you are on the Disney Dining Plan, or to spend cash at if you are paying out of pocket.  If you are paying out of pocket for dinner we would recommend The Plaza on Main Street USA in the Magic Kingdom. Rating: 4 out of 10 - Chris 7 out of 10 for Lauren (she liked the Mac n Cheese) Alternatives: We would recommend Be Our Guest at the Magic Kingdom instead of Liberty Tree Tavern. Chef Art Smith Homecoming Kitchen Review Location: Disney Springs If you are looking for fantastic southern food, Florida Cracker Style, you found it.  This is real Southern Cooking and it is really good.  We loved the atmosphere, it was bright and airy.  We went for dinner and the service was wonderful.  Disney Springs has so many dining options now and we loved Homecoming kitchen.  We ordered sandwiches and burgers ($15 - $18) which was very affordable.  They do have more expensive entrees that sounded great.  This is not a bad restaurant to pay cash for instead of using the Disney Dining Plan.  This is affordable dining at Disney Springs and a welcome addition.  There is even outdoor seating and it's very cute.  Please listen to our Mouse Chat episode for the full Chef Art Smith Homecoming Kitchen Review. Rating: 7 out of 10 for Chris 8 out of 10 for Lauren   Tutto Italia Review Location: Epcot - Italy pavilion We have been past Tutto Italia many times on our way to to Via Nappoli and this time we booked dinner at Tutto Italia, TWICE.  We had dinner at Tutto Italia two dinner nights and both nights we had great service and wonderful meals.  I would say, don't order the steak.  This is an Italian restaurant and the Italian dishes and fish we all loved.  The steak was not great for the price point and three different people over the two different dinners tried the steak.  The steak was average. Rating: 10 out of 10 for Chris 9 out of 10 for Lauren   Sanna Restaurant Review Location: Disney's Animal Kingdom Kadani Village Sanna is an Indian inspired restaurant at Disney's Animal Kingdom Kadani Village Resort.  The resort is stunning and a great way to spend an evening.  Sanna is located on the ground level and has a nice view of the Savanna and you can also walk out to the Sanna viewing areas to cap off your evening.  Everyone in our party loved dining at Sanna and will be back.  For our full review of Sanna appetizers and meals, please listen to our Mouse Chat episode.
