Dragan got to see first hand how to improve a giant iGaming affiliate site in AskGamblers. I've had the pleasure to chat with Dragan at conferences before so I know he is very passionate about SEO. We both follow the likes of Lily Ray, Glen Allsopp and Eli Schwartz that have unique takes on the SEO landscape. If your affiliate site has been hit by any of the Google penalties in the past 12 months, I think you should listen to this episode with a pen and notepad and take some notes. If you want to get my takeaway to add some perspective of what I learned in asking Dragan all of these SEO questions, it would be to ask yourself this question: is this piece of content I'm doing, the absolute best it can be? Am I adding a unique take on this topic that nobody else has? If you can't answer this question, I think you need to revisit the purpose of your affiliate site and it has to be a bit beyond just trying to make money.

⚡ Book your free 20-minute digital product strategy call with me and discover how to boost your income in Q4! ⚡ In today's episode of The Blogger Genius Podcast, I'm talking to Rand Fishkin, the founder of SparkToro and a leading expert in digital marketing and SEO. In May 2024 there was a significant Google search documentation leak, and the documents were actually leaked to Rand. The documents provide a rare glimpse into how Google ranks content and what the challenges are that smaller blogs and businesses face in gaining visibility. If you are trying to understand how SEO works today, this is a must-listen to episode. Show Notes: MiloTreeCart Book a FREE 20-minute call with me Write Your Ebook with These 13 AI Prompts SparkToro MiloTree Pop-Up Join My Blogger Genius Email List Become a Blogger Genius Facebook Group All Blogger Genius Podcast Episodes Subscribe to the Blogger Genius Podcast: iTunes YouTube Spotify Understanding Google's Algorithm: Key Takeaways The Complexity of Google's Ranking System Rand reveals that the leaked documents are not SEO guidelines but rather API documentation detailing the engineering behind Google's ranking system. This documentation includes around 14,000 unique features that contribute to how Google ranks content across its platforms, including search and YouTube. While the leak provides insights into what factors Google considers, it does not reveal the weight or importance of each factor in the ranking process. Actionable Advice: Focus on Quality Content: Given the complexity of Google's ranking system, it's crucial to prioritize high-quality, relevant content that meets the needs of your audience. Diversify Your Content: Consider creating content across various formats, such as blog posts, videos, and infographics, to increase your chances of ranking well on different platforms. Brand Mentions and YouTube Transcripts One surprising finding from the leak is Google's use of brand mentions in YouTube transcripts as a ranking factor. Frequent mentions of a brand in relevant videos can positively influence rankings. Actionable Advice: Leverage Video Content: Create YouTube videos that mention your brand and relevant keywords. Ensure your videos are well-optimized with accurate transcripts. Collaborate with Influencers: Partner with YouTube influencers to mention your brand in their videos, increasing your brand's visibility and potential ranking. Discounting Low-Quality Links Google's method of discounting low-quality links based on Chrome traffic is another interesting point. If users do not click on a link, it is deemed less valuable, effectively reducing the impact of spammy links. Actionable Advice: Build High-Quality Backlinks: Focus on acquiring backlinks from reputable websites that drive genuine traffic to your site. Monitor Your Link Profile: Regularly audit your backlink profile to identify and disavow low-quality or spammy links. The Role of Social Media Links While Google has historically downplayed the importance of social signals, the documentation suggests that links from platforms like Instagram can be valuable if they drive traffic to a website. Actionable Advice: Optimize Social Media Profiles: Ensure your social media profiles are optimized with links to your website and relevant content.   Engage on Social Media: Actively engage with your audience on social media platforms to drive traffic to your website. Strategies for Smaller Blogs and Businesses Finding Untapped Channels Rand suggests that smaller businesses should seek out channels and sources of influence that their competitors are not targeting. These avenues are often harder to measure, which is why larger companies tend to overlook them. Actionable Advice: Public Relations: Focus on PR efforts, such as getting featured in local media, niche podcasts, and industry blogs. Collaborations: Partner with smaller brands and influencers to reach new audiences. Building Brand Recognition Rand shares his experience with SparkToro, explaining that they have built their brand by participating in podcasts, webinars, and conferences, rather than relying heavily on SEO or traditional advertising. Actionable Advice: Participate in Industry Events: Attend and speak at industry conferences, webinars, and podcasts to build your brand's recognition. Content Collaborations: Collaborate with other brands and influencers to create co-branded content that reaches a wider audience. Embracing Zero-Click Content The concept of "zero-click content" focuses on being present on social media platforms without necessarily driving traffic back to a website. Building brand loyalty and trust is crucial, especially in an age where AI-generated content is becoming more prevalent. Actionable Advice: Engage on Social Media: Create engaging content for social media platforms that builds brand loyalty and trust. Focus on Value: Provide valuable content that resonates with your audience, even if it doesn't drive immediate traffic to your website. The Importance of Personal Branding and Audience Research Aligning Your Personal Brand Rand emphasizes the importance of aligning your personal brand with your audience's interests. Visualize a Venn diagram where one circle represents your passions and beliefs, while the other represents your audience. The overlap is where you should focus your content creation, product development, and messaging. Actionable Advice: Define Your Brand: Clearly define your brand's values, mission, and unique selling points. Know Your Audience: Conduct audience research to understand their interests, needs, and pain points. Conducting Audience Research Rand advocates for deep audience research, including surveys and interviews, to uncover common themes and challenges your audience faces. Actionable Advice: Surveys and Interviews: Conduct regular surveys and interviews with your audience to gather insights and feedback. Analyze Data: Use tools like SparkToro to analyze audience behaviors and demographics. Conclusion By focusing on high-quality content, leveraging video and social media, and conducting thorough audience research, bloggers and small businesses can navigate the ever-evolving world of SEO and digital marketing. Embrace your unique voice, build genuine connections with your audience, and explore new strategies to carve out your space in the digital world. Welcome to another episode of the Niche Pursuits News Podcast!  This week, Spencer's flying solo so we've got a shorter episode for you. It may be shorter, but it's still packed with the news, some side hustle shenanigans, and a weird niche site. He starts by talking about Google's 2024 Spam Update, which was just released on June 20th, and unsurprisingly, Google doesn't offer a lot of information about the update, except that the rollout will take just 1 week. What implications could this update have for your site if you were hit by a previous update? Is this part of the site reputation abuse update? And what did Google Search Liaison Danny Sullivan say about it? Keep your eye on your rankings (as you probably are) to see how this all unfolds! The next topic on the agenda is Lily Ray's article about how SEO visibility is shifting away from review sites to eCommerce and UGC sites. Google says that it has worked to “reduce unhelpful content by 45%,” although many small publishers would disagree. Spencer takes a look at Amsive's study, which compared the SERPs from May of 2023 and May of 2024 for various queries. What did they find? What other results does the article share? What does this mean for review sites? Spencer offers some advice if you've been affected by this. Tune in to hear what he says! Then he gives a quick update on his Facebook challenge side hustle, in which he's trying to make $1000 from a brand new Facebook page. He shared his recent stats on Twitter, sharing his number of followers, his current earnings, and his current costs. How many clicks has he got to his website? What's his new strategy going to be moving forward? How much engagement is he getting? How often is he posting? Check out the episode to get all the details. When it comes to his weird niche site, he shares For Eternia, which is dedicated to He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, which Spencer admitted made him feel slightly nostalgic. The site covers the latest news (there's a new movie coming out) and has an official podcast, an official late-night show, a YouTube channel, and a community with a forum. Spencer talks about how niche the site and topic are. How well is it doing? How are they making  money? Where is its traffic coming from?  Does this site give you any ideas that you can apply to your own site or business? What can you learn from this successful and weird niche site? And that wraps up this week's solo episode of the Niche Pursuits News Podcast. We hope you're up to speed on the latest events in the space and feeling inspired by Spencer's side hustle and weird niche site. See you next week! How does this all play into Google's antitrust lawsuit, problems with Gemini, and its declining share price?  And what about Reddit's poor-quality results in Search? Listen to the episode to hear the ridiculous Reddit response to a weight loss query. Spencer then shares a tweet from a series by Glenn Gabe on the March Core Update, talking about whether the update has finished or not, the role played by the HCU, and the lack of recoveries from these updates. What did John Mueller say about the core update? What do Spencer and Jared think about the updates and when they'll finish? Check out the episode to find out. The last topic is that Bing usage is on the rise, having gained some footing recently, and Spencer and Jared note from the article that Bing actually powers several other search engines, including DuckDuckGo and Yahoo. What do they recommend when it comes to optimization? Who uses Bing and why does it matter? What's happening with desktop search? As for their Shiny Object Shenanigans, Spencer highlights two of his side hustles, the Amazon Influencer Program and his Facebook traffic project, neither of which rely on search engine traffic at all. Jared then announces the Alt G Online Conference: Unleash Your Content's Potential Beyond Google, which will bring together people earning money on alternative platforms. It will be held on April 25th, and both Spencer and Jared will be speakers. In line with the conference, the Niche Pursuits Community is welcoming a series of expert speakers each week who are also talking about using alternative traffic sources. Jared talks briefly about his Amazon Influencer Program side hustle and then teases a new side hustle he's about to launch. Come back next week for all the details! As for the Weird Niche Sites, Spencer reveals iScrap App, which reports local scrap prices. They've got a blog and a directory and they're doing well in search: 300k visitors per month according to SimilarWeb. They monetize with display ads, they have a store, they sell directory space to scrapyards, and the owner probably has a nice little side hustle with this weird niche site. When it's Jared's turn, he reveals Live Oasis, which lets you research the toxicity of many water brands and rates the water quality in different municipalities. It has a subscription model, which provides access to more information and research, but is it earning money? Beyond that, this brand-new website is doing quite well and ranking for lots of keywords. What does Jared discover when he digs into the backstory? And where is all of the data coming from? And what if they were to change the model a bit? Hear Jared and Spencer's recommendations. We hope this episode helped bring you up to speed on the latest happenings in the SEO and content creation space and gave you some new ideas when it comes to your own businesses. See you next week! Welcome back to another episode of the Niche Pursuits News Podcast, where Spencer and Jared talk about the biggest news over the last week in Google, SEO, and AI.  They also give an update on some of their side hustles and top it all off with some very weird and entertaining niche sites. They kick off this week's call by announcing big news: Google has just finished rolling out the spam update, although the core update will continue to be rolled out for another two weeks. The spam update targeted three types of abuse: scaled content, expired domain, and site reputation (also known as parasite SEO), though the latter will technically be targeted in May.  They share a tweet from Lily Ray, where she details the winners and losers from the update, and then Spencer looks at a handful of their data in Ahrefs.  If you take a closer look at the “winners,” you can see examples of sites that are crushing it and do your own deep-dive analysis. They also look at sites that were absolutely crushed in the update, as we can learn from both.  Listen to the full episode to see their analysis and which sites are doing well and poorly. Moving along, the next news item is that Google is shaking things up a bit internally, replacing the Head of Search, among other roles.  What do Spencer and Jared make of this? And what does the new head, Liz Reid, talk about primarily in her announcement? What does she see as the future of search? And what's motivating these changes at Google? Tune in to hear what they think! During the Side Hustle Shenanigans segment of the podcast, Spencer goes first and talks about his Amazon Influencer business. He reveals his current earnings and reports that his earnings have become almost entirely passive since he hasn't really uploaded videos since December. Jared just finished his call with the Niche Pursuits Community, where he talks in detail about his business and how he's grown it. Spencer did a call the previous week where he shared all the details behind his Amazon Influencer business as well. If you want to see those videos and enjoy many other aspects of the Community, you can join right here!  When it's Jared's turn, he talks about deleting 18% of the subscribers to his Weekend Growth newsletter. He shares the process for culling the list and trying to re-engage with disinterested subscribers, and the resulting open rate after the process. Spencer then shares his process for managing the people on his list who are disengaged. Which approach resonates the most with you? Check out the episode to hear how their strategies differ.  When it's time to talk about Weird Niche Sites, Spencer goes first with Ling's Cars. From the psychedelic background to Ling's bobbing head, the site definitely leans into its weirdness. The owner also uses some unique real-life marketing strategies but doesn't have a very strong SEO game. Most of its traffic is direct or comes from social media, reaching 84k visitors last month. When it's Jared's turn, he shares the personal website, Tyler Vigen. The section that has gone viral is called Spurious Correlations, where he shows correlations between two completely random things, like Amazon's stock price and the popularity of the name Stevie. There's a very entertaining AI component to this DR74 site, although it's not ranking for a lot of keywords or getting much traffic, and the owner is not monetizing in any way. And that brings us to the end of another episode of the Niche Pursuits News podcast, where Spencer and Jared break down the latest important news in the sector and seek to motivate listeners with their side hustles. Welcome back to another episode of the Niche Pursuits News Podcast, where Spencer and Jared analyze the latest news in SEO, digital marketing, and website building and offer their unique insight. You won't want to miss this episode, especially if you were affected by Google's Helpful Content Update.  As the update has officially wrapped up, this week Spencer and Jared dedicate a lot of time to talking about its massive impact on the industry. They share common insights and important takeaways from 4 SEO experts: Lily Ray, Glen Gabe, Barry Schwartz, and Marie Haynes. According to the experts, this update, the 3rd and largest of its kind, looked at over-optimized content and the authenticity of reviews. It also potentially penalized websites with the blogroll on the homepage and sites using too many affiliate links with no context.  User experience is another big topic, with Google appearing to penalize sites that are poorly-designed, sites with broken links and, perhaps most importantly, sites with aggressive ads and pop-ups. They also speak about how data reporters have not picked up on the volatility of this update, how niche site owners have been extremely affected, and how UGC seems to have been rewarded as opposed to SEO content. They discuss the importance of building a brand on multiple platforms, the importance of verifiable credentials, and the need for content from trusted sources that is truly helpful. Jared and Spencer then talk about the possibility of recovering from the update and self-assessing your site using Google's guidelines, and they offer sage advice to website owners who have been negatively impacted by this update.  In the next portion of the podcast, they share and analyze real sites that have been positively affected by the update, talking about why they think that is and what they're doing right. They specifically look at sites in the finance and travel spaces. They also take a closer look at a few sites that have lost traffic following the update, in the travel niche. Don't miss their conclusions about the update, their opinion on the future of the industry, and their advice on moving forward for site owners. Although they dedicate the bulk of the podcast to talking about the update, they do speak briefly about their current side hustles in the Side Hustle Shenanigans portion of the podcast.  Spencer speaks about his AI website challenge and how some of those creators are already seeing a little bit of traffic. He'll also be hosting a second YouTube Live on Monday, October 2nd, along with an AI expert. Jared briefly talks about his Amazon Influencer side hustle and his Weekend Growth YouTube channel.   As for Weird Niche Sites, Spencer shares his: HowToPronounce, which is getting 1.4 million visitors per month, according to Ahrefs. It's ranking for lots of keywords with significant traffic, although it looks like it was hit by recent Google updates. Jared's site, I Might Be Funny, is a good example of UGC (but not SEO), as it amalgamates and shares content originally published on social media. Although it has a DR of just 6, it ranks for 4k keywords according to Ahrefs, some of which have significant traffic, and gets around 5k organic visitors per month. As always, talking about these weird niche sites allows Jared and Spencer to share some fantastic advice and inspiration when it comes to picking a niche and building websites. Welcome back to another episode of the Niche Pursuits News podcast, where Spencer Haws and Jared Bauman, of 201 Creative, discuss the latest news and important recent events in digital marketing, SEO, and website creation. The first news item that Spencer and Jared address this week is the rollout Google core update, which concluded about a week ago. They share some of the key takeaways from Lily Ray's analysis, one of which was the importance of EEAT and the massive post-update boost to UCG platforms like Reddit and Quora and dictionary-type sites.  Is this in response to AI-generated content? Will their rankings change over time? And what about the pre-update volatility that many sites experienced? Tune in to hear what Spencer and Jared have to say. Moving on, they talk about how tech leaders like Elon Musk and Bill Gates recently met privately with the Senate to discuss how to craft guardrails for AI. This is especially interesting for website owners and content creators because regulations on AI could affect how we create content. Other news covered in the episode is Google's announcement that it will no longer be showing how-to results for desktop users. It had previously been removed from mobile search results, along with FAQ results. Spencer and Jared talk about the impact of this move by Google and why they think it was done. The last news item they touch on this week is an exhaustive State of Digital Marketing report. They talk about the decline in the cost of ads, which is good news for advertisers. On the flip side, RPMs are low, which negatively affects website owners running ads. Will there be a comeback in Q3 and Q4, or is this trend here to stay? Jared and Spencer share their thoughts.    In the Shiny Object Shenanigans portion of the episode, Spencer shares how he launched 2 new challenges. In the first one, people will build AI sites from scratch and document the process. In the second challenge, people will scale an existing site with AI.  He created a free community to follow along, and the person in each competition who has the most organic traffic after 6 months (new site challenge) and 3 months (existing site challenge) will walk away with $2,500.  Jared talks about doubling down on his Amazon Influencer side hustle as we move into Q3 and Q4, making 99 videos in the last week. He also shares his takeaway after looking at his August earnings, which had declined, suggesting that consumers weren't making large purchases during the month. With 638 videos currently on the platform, Jared is ready to earn some serious money as the year draws to a close. Then it's time for Spencer to share his Weird Niche Site. The single-page site he found is getting 2.4 million organic visitors per month, ranks for 30k keywords, and is monetized with display ads: Compress JPEG. Although it seems like a very simple tool and website, Spencer and Jared talk about all the work that goes into creating and ranking it. Jaren then shares his site: Your Novel, where you can submit your story, have a novel written about you, and get it shipped to your house. The books are available in a wide range of categories and come in hardback, paperback, or ebook formats. Although it doesn't rank for many keywords or get a lot of traffic, they agree that the website has potential if certain SEO strategies were applied to it, and most of all, it certainly qualifies as weird.  And that concludes another episode of the latest news in the industry. Will Google's new Search Generative Experience (SGE) help or harm site owners? Spencer and Jared kick off the latest episode of Niche Pursuits News pondering this question with some interesting findings as they look at various examples of search queries. They also reflect on a recent Twitter poll by Lily Ray and contemplate whether or not SGE seems to be an improvement over the existing Google search experience. For instance, in the event it turns out to be a glorified featured snippet and not so much AI as it is displaying site content directly on the SERPs, will Google provide attribution to site owners? They also consider how this GSE may work in YMYL niches. But in hopeful news, Bing AI has added links to sources of information within their AI results which could help put pressure on Google to do the same. The discussion then moves onto their shiny object shenanigans. Spencer shares some recent troubles he's run into with his faceless YouTube channel and what they're doing to fix it. Plus, he discusses how his upcoming plugin Rank Logic is coming along after beta testers finally got to use it. Then Jared gets into how he decided to jump into the Amazon influencer program and how he and his 201 Creative business partner Kaitlin managed to create 100 videos within a few days reviewing items in their homes. And as always, they close things out with some great niche site discoveries. Jared starts with Snake Dreams, a site that focuses on interpreting dreams about snakes. And although it's not doing so well these days, according to Ahrefs - back in 2017 it was receiving an average of 56,000 organic monthly visitors. Then it's onto Spencer's site highlight, Dimensions.com. This is a reference database for product dimensions founded by an architect that provides dimensions for various objects and people, including celebrities and fictional characters. The site is monetized via display ads and a subscription service that offers 2D and 3D downloads, no ads, easy download access, and support. And it appears the site is getting lots of traffic! So, it makes you wonder what's an problem or issue that people like have that could be turned into a helpful niche site! Overall, it's another helpful episode to wind down for the weekend, hope you enjoy.

Learn what topics were trending and TREW's big takeaways from INBOUND, Content Marketing World, MozCon, The Martech Conference, and the PMM Summit. In this episode, I'm joined by several senior members of the TREW Crew to share the big trends and takeaways from conferences we each attended in Fall 2022. These included:INBOUNDContent Marketing World (CMW)MozConThe Martech ConferencePMM Summit Here are just a few of the topics we covered during the episode:Lee Chapman, TREW President, shared a key INBOUND theme of connectedness. Emerging from the isolated Covid times, marketers (and humans in general) are seeking ways to feel connected. One has a sense of this at in-person conferences, where people are more eager than ever to talk to the stranger in the next chair over, and online, where new communities are springing up as gathering places for learning and connecting. Lee's favorite presenter was Dale Bertrand from Spark and Fire who provided in-depth advice on how to diagnose and improve SEO performance. Morgan Norris, TREW Senior Brand Strategist, reports that pillar pages are still a thing! Demonstrate your expertise and help your buyers by publishing long-scrolling web pages packed with relevant, connected content. You can score high marks with Google AND with prospective buyers through this strategy. While at CMW, Morgan tried out several AI tools for content marketing, nabbed the top score at a content-themed whack-a-mole game, performed at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (sort of), and presented with yours truly during the CMW Industrial Marketing Summit. Morgan's favorite presenter was Lisa Gately from Forrester who covered thought leadership – what it is, what it isn't, and how to create a thought leadership campaign.Erin Moore, TREW Account Director, was the overachiever that fit in two conferences: MozCon and The Martech Conference. A big focus at MozCon (and INBOUND and CMW!) was Google's greater emphasis on EAT: expertise, authoritativeness, and trustworthiness. Partly in response to the misinformation of today's times, brands need to do more to build their authority. This might be niching further down, creating even MORE content on a subject (and tying it together with that pillar page), and publishing author bios along with blogs and articles. Erin's favorite presenter, Lily Ray from Amsive Digital, went into the background on EAT, the Google patents that she thinks went into it, and a lot of fantastic examples to showcase how Google can piece together an entity's authority.Collaboration and AI-assisted content marketing and SEO were also big topics at The Martch Conference. During the episode you'll hear Erin share an easy "hack" for figuring out trending keywords used by your target personas, so be sure to listen for that. Rounding out the five events, I attended the Product Marketing Manager Summit along with TREW client Rich Goldman from Ansys, who presented a content marketing collaboration between our two teams on a GIANT movie theater screen. About half of the sessions were themed around positioning and messaging, along with how to do content marketing at scale and ways to support sales. I had two favorite quotes, one of which “The Gartner buyer's journey is REAL, y'all” refers to just how much of a slog the long B2B technology buyer's journey can be, and pivotal ways marketing can help. For show links and more, visit the Co

We also dive into why you should work towards having less content on your site and removing content over time, why create content that doesn't just get traffic but builds your brand and how to do that and how to get links instead of hunting them down or buying them. Lastly, Lily will share what are the most important things you should have for your site, which are basic but critical and where Google is headed and what we can do to take advantage. Did you know that the Google search team has a 160-page document ( book ) that outlines how the search algorithm works? Even better - Google updates this every 6 months.    If you are an SEO, it really qualifies as your first starting point. Question is - how many people do you know to print that document and keep it on their desk? This is why Lily Ray stands out. Also, because she usually DJ's in the New York circuit..   But back to where we are. News, SEO, and EAT. Lily has expertise in EAT. Of the various things that matter, EAT has a massive impact and most publishers haven't quite cracked it yet. We chat about the outlook on AI content, the need of building trust with the audience, and most importantly how newer publications have a shot at establishing their expertise. Lily's updates on Twitter and LinkedIn are fire and her default position on SEO is - optimize for the user and Google will follow. Google has been saying this for.....  Wait. Suds & Search | Interviews With Today's Search Marketing Experts

Lily Ray, SEO Director at Path Interactive https://lilyray.nyc/ Twitter: @lilyraynyc My guest today is Lily Ray, SEO Director at Path Interactive. Lily has been one of the most popular speakers in the industry for a while now. She's been nominated for multiple industry awards, including Best Female Search Marketer by Search Engine Land. She's an in demand speaker. A short list of the conferences she's presented at includes SMX, Brighton, Ungagged and Pubcon. Lily is also one of my favorite writers in the industry too. Her content has been featured in Moz, Search Engine Journal, Search Engine Land and many, many other places. She's a must-follow on Twitter. On August 1st 2018, Google launched a broad core update which has become known as the Medic Update. SEOs all over the world got introduced to yet another three letter acronym - EAT which stands for Expertise, Authority and Trust. While the concept of EAT predates the medic update, the level of interest in the SEO community skyrocketed after the Medic update. Lily is an expert on EAT. How much of an expert? Google's Webmaster Central blog actually links to Her slides from Brighton as a reference. She joined me on Suds & Search to talk about EAT, the unique challenges of Your Money, Your Life websites, quarantine rides and her popular coronavirus DJ livestream fundraiser. The problem comes from the fact that the returns aren't immediate, which is a problem for a lot of people since their job often depends on fast results and quick returns. Is there a quick-win cheat? And is Google a chicken with its head cut off (terribly good analogy for Halloween)? Lily Ray tells all !

Rock drummer icons all :) Lily sets herself apart because a) she is alive and b) she knows boatloads about E-A-T. We discuss August and March updates. I suggest that Google has a slap-and-reward system. Lily politely ignores that, and gives some very encouraging information about E-A-T. Much of it is an easy fix. She then identifies what the constituent parts of building E-A-T really are. I ask for a lot of free advice. And Lily very kindly gives it to me – she is super practical and smart. We now need to be obsessed by Brand SERPs. And even gossip sites can be useful, as can comic sites… as long as they provide useful information. Pure buzz has no long term value. Trust rank is (perhaps) a thing? Then Lily finishes with a wonderful summary of the fundamental point of an SEO's job.
