What Are the Best Blogging and Publishing SEO Practices for New or Established Websites? (Digital Marketing Masterclass with Favour Obasi-Ike) | Get exclusive SEO newsletters in your inbox. This marketing discussion from Clubhouse audio centers on Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and its role in online business growth, particularly through blog content. It emphasizes that SEO is more than just ranking; it's a consistent strategy for online visibility. Favour Obasi-Ike recommends publishing blog posts regularly, suggesting one to two per week for new businesses and three to four for established ones, while also stressing the importance of updating older content to maintain relevance and a competitive edge. Furthermore, the conversation highlights the significance of structured data, diverse content formats (text, audio, video), and distributing content across various platforms to maximize reach and engagement, ultimately leading to organic traffic and reduced advertising costs.FAQs on SEO Content Strategy for Online GrowthHow often should a new website publish blog posts for SEO?For a new website just starting out and building momentum, it's recommended to publish one to two blog posts per week. This approach allows a new business or solopreneur to establish a consistent online presence without feeling overwhelmed. Publishing once a week translates to 52 new web links annually, which can significantly contribute to a website's visibility on search engines like Google, ChatGPT, and Bing. This frequency is considered a "gear one to gear three" strategy, focusing on foundational content and answering common customer questions. What is the recommended blog post frequency for established businesses aiming for accelerated growth?Established businesses looking to drive fast and significantly boost their SEO should aim to publish anywhere from three to four times a week. This higher frequency, referred to as moving from "gear one to gear five," is for businesses with the resources to create consistent, high-quality content. The more frequently new and updated content is published, the faster search engines like Google understand the website's relevance and authority, leading to improved rankings and increased organic traffic.Beyond initial publication, how important is updating old blog posts for SEO?Updating old blog posts is crucial for maintaining SEO relevance and extending the lifespan of your content. Every time an article is updated (given a "last modified" date), it resets its 24-month relevance cycle with search engines. This combats "content decay," where older, un-updated articles lose visibility to newer, more recent information on the same topic. Best practices suggest updating content monthly or at least quarterly. Updates can include adding FAQs, recent statistics, use cases, quotes, videos, or other rich media. This consistent updating signals to search engines that your content remains current, practical, and authoritative, improving its chances of ranking higher and for longer. What are the "three levels" of showing up online that are critical for SEO?The three critical levels for showing up online in a systematic and structural way are:Website: This is the overall digital presence, providing the "full platter" of your brand and offerings.Web Page: This refers to individual pages within the website that contain specific content. It's the "content of the website."Web Link (Blog Post/Article): These are the individual pieces of content that provide access to the specific information on a web page. They serve as "leading tools" for growth and are the primary way people find content on search engines. These three layers must work together, much like the components of a burger or sandwich, for effective online visibility. How do search engines evaluate content, and what role does "structured data" play?Search engines evaluate content by reading both the visible text (HTML) and the underlying script (XML). To rank effectively, content needs to be presented as "structured data," which goes beyond just getting a raw response from an AI tool. Structured data includes elements like headings, titles, metadata, schema markup, internal and external links, images with alt text, and other organizational components. These elements help search engines understand the context, relevance, and relationships within your content, making it easier for them to index and rank your pages for relevant queries. Search engines, including AI platforms like ChatGPT, scan the top 20 Google results for relevance, recency, and practicality, aligning with Google's E-E-A-T (Experience, Expertise, Authority, and Trust) guidelines. How can businesses maximize the reach and impact of their blog content beyond just publishing it on their website? To maximize reach, blog content should be actively distributed across various platforms, treating each blog post as a valuable piece of intellectual property. This includes:Email lists: Sending new blog posts to subscribers.Social Media: Sharing content on platforms like YouTube (as video), X (formerly Twitter), Reddit, Pinterest, and Threads.Content Repurposing: Transforming blog posts into videos, podcasts, infographics, or other formats to suit different platforms and audience preferences.Connecting with other content: For instance, ensuring every podcast episode has a corresponding blog post to appear on Google. This multi-channel approach leverages both search (people actively looking for information) and social (content being discovered in feeds) to drive traffic and engagement, increasing the chances of content being seen and resonated with. What is the impact of regularly updating website content on search engine understanding and overall business value?Regularly updating website content, particularly blog posts, significantly enhances search engine understanding of your business and its offerings. The more often you update your content, the more thoroughly Google and other search engines comprehend your topics, expertise, and relevance. This consistent engagement builds trust and authority. Furthermore, the content on your website contributes directly to its intellectual property and overall business value. Just as renovating a house adds value, adding and updating content to your domain increases its worth, making it a more attractive asset for potential scaling or sale. A diverse range of well-optimized content allows your website to "tackle different channels" and answer a broader spectrum of user questions, akin to a television offering many channels. What are common pitfalls to avoid when creating content for SEO, especially regarding AI tools?A major pitfall to avoid is simply copying and pasting content generated by AI tools like ChatGPT without further refinement. While AI can be useful for gathering information or suggesting ideas, the output is often "unstructured data." Directly using such content can lead to penalties from search engines because it may regurgitate information already available elsewhere, lacking originality, structure, and the human touch that builds E-E-A-T. Instead, AI tools should be used strategically:Restructuring: Use AI to rewrite content in a specific style (e.g., lifestyle blog, third-person with quotes and attributions).Idea Generation: Obtain content ideas or initial drafts.Enhancement: Incorporate AI-generated elements after thorough review and integration into your structured format. The goal is to transform unstructured AI output into well-structured, original, and valuable content that resonates with both human readers and search engine algorithms.Digital Marketing SEO Resources:>> Join our exclusive SEO Marketing community>> Read SEO Articles>> Need SEO Services? If your traffic fell off a cliff after recent Google updates and AI answers, you're not alone—especially if you're a recipe, YMYL (Your Money or Your Life), or niche blogger who used to win with long posts and ads. But SEO isn't dead—it's evolved. In my latest Blogger Genius Podcast episode, I'm talk to SEO strategist, Steven Schneider, who breaks down exactly how creators can still win in 2025: build visible authority, earn strategic backlinks, improve UX, and shift revenue toward newsletters and products. Show Notes: MiloTree Free Plan Steven Schneider 6 Purchasing Triggers Test Join The Blogger Genius Newsletter Become a Blogger Genius Facebook Group Subscribe to the Blogger Genius Podcast: iTunes YouTube Spotify The Problem Creators Are Facing in 2025 AI is answering queries and compressing clicks—brutal for “quick-answer” niches like recipes. Google is rewarding authority (E-E-A-T) and punishing thin UX (endless scroll, intrusive ads, fluff). Old playbooks (publish more posts, stuff in keywords, hope for ad RPM) don't move the needle. Solution in a sentence: Treat search like a brand + authority channel, not a traffic lottery. Build proof of expertise on every page, earn real mentions/links, and turn all attention into owned audiences and product revenue. What's Working Now (According to Steven) 1) Authority > everything Add clear E-E-A-T signals on every post and key page (not just your About page): Real author byline + headshot 2–3 credential links (culinary school, certifications, LinkedIn) Awards/press mentions (linked) Concise author bio block on each post This helps Google and readers trust that a human expert wrote it. 2) Backlinks with intent (no spray-and-pray) Guest on podcasts (links in show notes = high-quality, relevant). Offer expert quotes to other bloggers/journalists; pitch quick 2–3 sentence tips they can drop in with a link. Vary anchor text (brand, URL, topical phrases) and use reciprocal links sparingly. Paying for “time” vs “links” is a gray area—be selective and ethical. 3) UX that respects the reader Stop the 4,000-word detours; give the answer fast and add optional depth. Keep one H1 per page, logical H2/H3s, strong internal linking, and basic schema hygiene. Recipes/how-to: lead with the steps; put the story below. 4) BOFU content (not just top-of-funnel) Steven's agency prioritizes bottom-of-funnel, high-intent topics that convert to leads or sales—because SEO must tie to revenue. 5) Newsletter > ad RPM Clicks are down, but email still converts. Build a free newsletter, nurture weekly, and sell your own offers (ebooks, mini-courses, templates, memberships). 7-Step Action Plan (Do this in the next 14 days) Add E-E-A-T blocks site-wide Byline, headshot, 2–3 credential links, “Reviewed by” where relevant. Fix on-page structure One H1, clean headings, scannable sections, strong internal links among related posts. Create one “wow” asset (lead magnet or calculator) Examples: Gluten-free flour swap chart (instant, high-value) Meal-prep planner (fillable PDF) ROI/Cost calculator (tools get links + emails) Pitch 10 podcasts in your niche Offer 3 topic angles, a short bio, and a value-packed outline; request a site link in show notes. Run a “quote outreach” sprint Identify 25 relevant posts; email the author a ready-to-paste 2–3 sentence expert tip + your preferred link target (vary anchors). Publish 3 BOFU posts Bottom-of-funnel queries aligned to your product (e.g., “Meal-prep templates,” “Gluten-free baking guide PDF,” “One-hour blogging audit”). Launch or revive your newsletter Weekly format: 1 tip, 1 tool, 1 template. Soft-pitch your product/freebie in each send. Make This Easy (and Free) with MiloTree With the MiloTree Free Plan, you can: Sell one digital product (ebook, template, workshop replay) Offer a freebie/lead magnet with automatic delivery Add a social pop-up to grow followers while you sleep Spin up AI-generated pages (sales + opt-in) in minutes

In this episode of The Digital Marketing Podcast, hosts Daniel Rowles and Ciaran Rogers explore one of the most pressing questions facing marketers today: what does SEO look like in a world dominated by AI search and generative answers? With Google rolling out AI Overviews and AI Mode, and tools like ChatGPT and Gemini changing how people search, the rules of SEO are shifting fast. Some publishers report traffic drops of up to 60%, while others in e-commerce are holding steady. So is SEO really dead, or just evolving into something new? Daniel and Ciaran dig deep into what's happening, separating hype from reality and providing clear, practical advice for marketers trying to adapt. They explain why understanding Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) and AI Overviewsn (AIO) is critical, and how you can stay visible when clicks are disappearing. What you'll learn in this episode: Why AI Overviews are changing user behaviour, and pushing organic results further down the page How share of voice and brand sentiment are becoming as important as traditional ranking factors Why advocacy and positive online mentions may now trump old-school keyword tactics The growing importance of Wikipedia, Reddit, and forums in shaping AI-driven answers Why updating and referencing your best content is more powerful than ever How no-click searches are rewriting what “success” looks like in SEO Practical ways to benchmark your visibility Why prompt-like queries and longer conversational searches are the new normal How to build trust through Google's E‑E‑A‑T principles (Expertise, Experience, Authoritativeness, Trustworthiness) The Future of SEO Episode Mindmap The hosts also explore pitfalls to avoid, from snake-oil SEO sales pitches to rushing into poorly thought-out Wikipedia pages that could backfire. They emphasise a smarter, evidence-based approach: focusing on authenticity, advocacy, and quality content that's updated, referenced, and truly useful. Key Takeaways: SEO isn't dead, but competing for the top three AI-sourced links is tougher than ever. Building advocacy and brand mentions is critical to visibility in AI search. Quality and authenticity (with evidence and references) beat quantity every time. Think conversational: searches are getting longer, more natural, and more complex. Following Google's E‑E‑A‑T framework is the best hedge against AI-driven disruption. If you're a marketer, publisher, or business owner trying to make sense of the shifting SEO landscape, this episode provides both clarity and actionable steps to future-proof your strategy.

The digital landscape is shifting rapidly, but contrary to popular belief, SEO isn't disappearing in the age of AI—it's evolving. Jason breaks down exactly how to make your website discoverable across all platforms, whether through traditional Google searches, voice commands, or AI-powered tools. At the heart of modern searchability is the E-E-A-T principle: Expertise, Experience, Authoritativeness, and Trustworthiness. This framework helps you create content that not only attracts your ideal clients but also signals to search engines that you're a credible source in your specific location and field. With AI-generated content creating unprecedented noise online, standing out requires a more strategic approach than ever before.Jason emphasizes that AI should be your assistant, not your replacement. While using AI to generate outlines or identify keywords can be valuable, simply copying and pasting AI-generated content makes your site indistinguishable from countless others. The magic happens when you personalize that foundation with your unique perspective and expertise. Beyond content, technical elements like schema markup help search engines understand exactly what services you offer, while properly structured individual service pages allow you to demonstrate deep expertise in each area rather than providing surface-level information on a single page.Ready to transform how your website performs across all search platforms? Welcome to The Dojo, a search marketing news podcast for goal-driven marketing leaders, hosted by Exposure Ninja, featuring Charlie Marchant (CEO) and Dale Davies (Head of Marketing)."Sorry, you can't sprinkle some experiences on your web pages."Google just dropped a bombshell statement claiming "you can't add E-E-A-T to your website" — but this widely misinterpreted comment hides a crucial truth that forward-thinking marketers need to understand. While Google's John Mueller dismissed the idea of "sprinkling experience on your web pages," what he was actually pushing back against, in our opinion, was artificial attempts to fake expertise through AI-generated authors and fabricated credentials. For businesses committed to authentic marketing, this distinction matters enormously — because genuine E-E-A-T signals remain one of the most powerful drivers of both search visibility and conversion rates. In this episode, we unpack:• The full context of Mueller's comments — and why they've been dangerously misinterpreted by some in the industry• Why E-E-A-T matters for all businesses — not just those in YMYL (Your Money, Your Life) categories• Actionable frameworks for authentically showcasing your expertise, experience, authority, and trustworthiness that satisfy both Google and potential customers• How E-E-A-T extends beyond SEO into every stage of your marketing funnel — from ads to emails to conversion optimization• The evolving relationship between links, mentions, and E-E-A-T signals — and why quality third-party validation remains crucialCharlie and Dale share practical implementation strategies based on work with real clients across multiple sectors, demonstrating how authentic expertise signals drive measurable business outcomes. As Charlie explains in the episode:"For businesses targeting decision-makers, seeing experience and expertise is crucial. Going beyond just content ranking and thinking about purchasing decisions — businesses absolutely want to purchase from other businesses that show credentials and experience. You trust them more than businesses where you're not seeing that."If you're ready to move beyond simplistic interpretations and implement a sophisticated E-E-A-T strategy that drives both rankings and revenue, this episode provides your complete action plan.Get the show notes: https://exposureninja.com/podcast/dojo-47/Listen to these episodes next:Everything Marketing Leaders Should Know About Google's NEW AI Modehttps://exposureninja.com/podcast/dojo-46/Copy This IMPACTFUL Brand Marketing Strategy in 2025https://exposureninja.com/podcast/extra-048/Copy This PERFECT Digital Marketing Strategy in 2025https://exposureninja.com/podcast/extra-047/

Search engine optimization has long been anchored to rank tracking, a methodical approach to monitoring keyword positions, optimizing for higher rankings, and using data to demonstrate marketing success. However, Google's recent algorithm updates have fundamentally disrupted traditional tracking tools, creating significant challenges for marketers seeking to measure search positions with their previous level of precision. In this episode of Content Logistics, host Baylee Gunnell engages in an in-depth conversation with Colin Costigan, Account Director at Marketers in Demand. Together, they dissect the evolving landscape of SEO, exploring how AI-driven search behavior, zero-click searches, and Google's dynamic ranking factors reshape digital marketing strategies.Colin explains how Google's commitment to enhancing user experiences and transitioning toward AI-generated overviews have deprioritized traditional rank positions. Instead, the focus has shifted to engagement-driven metrics. He delves deep into the E-E-A-T framework—Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, and Trustworthiness—offering strategic guidance on how businesses can optimize content for sustained visibility.Moving beyond the outdated approach of chasing rankings, Colin advocates for a more holistic strategy. He encourages marketers to concentrate on metrics that drive business growth, such as share of voice, user engagement, and conversion rates. The conversation extends to exploring the growing significance of video, images, and social signals in search rankings, providing listeners with a comprehensive understanding of modern SEO strategies.

Have you recently found yourself saying, What the heck, Google?! Google search results have been experiencing significant changes, with an increase in discussion sites like Reddit and Quora appearing in search results. This is due to Google's emphasis on first-person experience (EEAT) and combating misinformation. However, the results often include outdated information and unreliable advice.Additionally, Google's AI overviews, formerly known as Search Generative Experience (SGE), have been quietly rolled out, providing automatic answers to queries but sometimes pulling in inaccurate information from sources like forums. The leaked Google algorithms reveal that clicks, click-through rates, and length of page visits are ranking signals, while on-page SEO and technical backend optimization are less important than we previously thought. To adjust to these changes, marketers should diversify their strategies and focus on reaching their audience where they are through channels like YouTube, events, thought leadership, referrals, digital advertising, and public relations. Content strategies should prioritize deep technical content, real-world projects, and data, rather than introductory topics. It's important to stay flexible and adjust plans as Google's search landscape continues to evolve.TakeawaysGoogle search results now prioritize content from discussion sites to provide a first-person perspective. However, this shift has resulted in outdated and unreliable information appearing in search results due to a lack of oversight.Google's AI overviews, previously known as SGE, provide automatic answers to queries but may pull in inaccurate information and are not always pulling from the most authoritative sources.Clicks, click-through rates, and length of page visits are ranking signals, while on-page SEO and technical backend optimization are less important.Marketers should diversify their strategies and focus on reaching their audience through channels like YouTube, events, thought leadership, referrals, digital advertising, and public relations.Content strategies should prioritize deep technical content, real-world projects, and data, rather than introductory topics.ResourcesConnect with Erin on LinkedInConnect with Wendy on LinkedInAn Anonymous Source Shared Thousands of Leaked Google Search API Documents with Me; Everyone in SEO Should See ThemReddit shown excessively in Google product review search results, study findsTREW Marketing Strategy ServicesRelated Episode: The Evolving Search Landscape of 2023, from E-E-A-T to AIRelated Episode: What We've Learned from Google's Search Generative Experience (SGE)
