In this week's bonus episode, Sarah is joined by two very special guests, Melissa Duncan and Jihan Gabart who are the founders of SoMyPolar Inc. SoMypolar INC consists of Melissa Duncan and Jihan Gabart. We are a nonprofit organization that services the mental health community. Her diagnosis was given over ten years ago, consisting of bipolar, OCD, and schizoaffective disorder. Jihan is currently her caregiver, a role that she was thrown into after witnessing the struggles of her childhood friend. A role unfamiliar for both embarked them on a journey. It catapulted them into a movement to fight stigmas and shed light on the life of the two, showing a great example of when people love others with mental illness and what it can do!  Join these ladies as they discuss the power of supporting loved ones who are managing mental health conditions, how friendship plays a crucial role in psychological recovery, the role of caregivers in the healing process, and how mental health stigmas can be dismantled through raising awareness of these issues in various communities. We know that SOC team members are burning out as they try to protect companies, yet many InfoSec programs repeat the same strategies expecting different results. Can we take insanity out of the incident response? That's a good question. One that we're not going to answer, but one that we will discuss and hopefully encourage you all to think about with us as we try to get to the root of the problem: what needs to change. In this podcast, we will shed some light on how SOC teams could modify their programs to embrace risk-based alerting and response enabled by information, and by doing so, filtering out as much noise as possible. To do so, Sean Martin is joined by two seasoned security operations and incident response professionals:Melissa Duncan, who is responsible for developing security content, incident response procedures, and response automation, and Kristy Westphal, who uses her hands-on experience to design, implement and manage security and operational risk programs by bringing her passion for trying to — YES! — take the insanity out of incident response.Join us for our journey as we explore how to pivot your SOC from the monotonous audit-based checking-of-boxes to a program that can manage real, high-priority, risk-based events to which your team can successfully respond.Yes, you better believe that it is actually possible to run a SOC free from insanity. It's time to break from the same 'ole routine to try something different. The real-life in-the-trenches SOC experiences recounted by Kristy and Melissa can help your program get a bit more creative and bring those needed changes to light—for the security team and for the business goals too.Perhaps a reset on one or more parts of your program will reinvigorate you and bring a renewed passion for what you do. The Geelong Region once again hosted the very successful Steigen Victorian Country Championships over the Australia Day long weekend. Some of the highlight performances are discussed including Kath Mitchell’s return to competition and the very strong performances in the throws events in particular. Box Hill hosted another record breaking Victorian Milers Club while the Rare Air Club had a split competition between Melbourne University and Casey Fields. A lively conversation about pacers at Milers Club ensues… definitely some frustration expressed by our track side experts. Eleanor Patterson signalled her return to top flight competition by posting an equal PB and Olympic Qualifier with a 1.96m High Jump performance at the ACT Championships. Jack Hale also impressed in the 100m, while Mia Gross produced a 100m World Junior Championship Qualifier with a legal run of 11.74secs. Darcey Roper had a great series in the Long Jump and looks to be building well towards the Nationals Internationally we had Jess Hull and Lisa Weightman posting big performances. The recent Oceania Track & Field Championships in Townsville are the central theme for Episode 20 of DTT. With Sean Whipp enduring the European heatwave on a diet of pasta and chianti, Tim is joined in studio by Lisa Verstraten as co-host. And in the guest’s chair we are very pleased to have Oceania Athletics Council member Matt Mahon to provide the inside word on the Championships from the organiser’s perspective. The episode kicks off with the announcement of the very strong Victorian open teams taking part in the Australian Half Marathon Championship on the Sunshine Coast and the Australian Cross Country Championships in Wollongong – both competitions taking place in August. Discussion turns to the Oceania Championships with Matt providing some great insight into the organisation, the event and the bearing these Championships now have on athletics in Australia and across the region. The first part of our results wrap focusses on the Sprints/Hurdles, Jumps and Para events and includes interviews with Eddie Nketia, Jack Hale, Naa Anang, Mietta Russell, Brooke Stratton, Chad Perris and Marty Jackson. Stage two of the results wrap looks at the Middle & Long Distance, Throws & Walks with interviews from Matt Ramsden, Ben Buckingham, Melissa Duncan, Paige Campbell, Damien Birkenhead, Benjamin Voogd, Kelsey- Lee Barber, Isobella Simonelli and Jemima Montag. With so much great interview coverage from the Oceania Championships, we’ve edited six feature interviews that go into greater detail or provide a story we believe is worth retelling. These interviews are with Elizaveta Parnova, Kelsey-Lee Barber, Matt Ramsden, Brooke Stratton, Naa Anang and Harry Summers. Meanwhile in Victoria the XCR competition continues on it’s merry way and we provide coverage of the recent relay events… the Ekiden in Anglesea and the Road Relays at Sandown. It's EPISODE 20, friends! This is so hard to believe but I'm so incredibly thankful and excited. I heard a statistic when I started my show that most podcasts submitted to iTunes/Apple Podcasts don't make it longer than seven or eight episodes before they stop. For me, this journey has been one where I've listened closely to the Lord each step of the way, and I'll keep going until He says "stop." I pray there are moms who are learning and feeling inspired from the show. I want to normalize the chaos of being a working mom.  Lots of folks were asking me to do a more personal type of "Q&A" episode, so here we are! When I asked for questions via submission on social media, I got a lot of responses, so I've selected some of the questions and answered them here in episode 20. (Follow me on social media at @influentialmotherhood on Instagram and Facebook!).  Here are some of the questions I'm answering in this episode: "How do you do it all?" "What is your favorite mom hack?" "Do you miss being in private law practice or prefer being in education?" "Do you still ice skate?" "Any tips for buying a Peloton?" "How do you get your guests?" "How did I learn how to start a podcast?" I'd love to hear your feedback about this episode, the show generally, or I'd be happy to take your questions for future Ask Me Anything episodes.  Thanks, as always, for listening! In 2014, Sarah Baucom and her high school classmate, Carrie Barker, founded Girl Tribe Co. Both women were starting families, and their brand came before their product. They knew they wanted a brand that would empower women, but were not sure what their product would be.  Fast forward 5 years, and Sarah now has two young daughters and a thriving business. Sarah and Carrie's business started with graphic t-shirts, and has become a retail shop and a traveling pop-up show featuring women-owned businesses.  Sarah and I shared a lot of laughs as we talked about Girl Tribe's famous van (named Becky), the unique away message Sarah used during her last maternity (she totally channeled her inner royal princess), and the beginnings of the businesses. But we also talked about the pressures small businesses face in our current digital world, and the difficulties in transitioning from our "work energy" to our "mom energy" levels at home.  When it comes to leaving a legacy, Sarah has a vision and a goal, and as a 30-something entrepreneur, there is no doubt she'll reach her goals.  You're going to find Sarah to be a fun bundle of energy with clear focus and dedication to her work, her business partner, and, most importantly, her family.  Check out Sarah on Instagram at @sarahbaucom and Girl Tribe on Instagram at @girltribeco and online at www.girltribeco.com.  For more inspiring stories of moms making a difference, check out www.influentialmotherhood.com, and follow Melissa Duncan online at @influentialmotherhood on Instagram and Facebook.
