Purpose by Design is so excited to welcome Nicholette Hemingway - a native of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. She is an author, speaker, business owner, wife, mother and grandmother. She does it all! Her business is called “Nike H Speaks LLC.” - it teaches people to advance in life - her business will help with mock interviews, job-search tools, and will write up resumes for people. It is an amazing tool you can find in the LINKS section. Nicholette tells us about what led her to where she is now. She explains how money was not always in the household and when she was in college - she was a wife, and a new mom and was juggling a lot in the air. She had a very determined outlook on life on what she is going to do - so she ended up going to grad school. Once she got her Master's Degree - she started applying for jobs and they all had a similar message: You need 2-3 years of experience. This of course was disappointing to Nicholette - but she also had a family who she wanted to provide for and help with the bills. So - she did what many often do - and got a mediocre job that paid the bills. Inside of course - she was not fulfilled. She asked herself, “What do I do now?” She had these degrees - but not putting them to work. Her parents kept telling her how many opportunities there were west in the Phoenix area. Shortly after she and her family moved to Phoenix - she ended up doing what she swore she wouldn't do - be a 3rd generation military air force “brat” as she puts it. Her family moved to the Maryland area and did that for around a decade before moving back to South Carolina. A few years later, they were grandparents! Our amazing guest talks about her fictional (but based on her life) book and how it has helped people out there - as well as what is in the book and why it will help you. It's called “A Little Black Girl on the Beach”. Nicholette was abused as a child, tried masking it with marijuana and things that masked that life was not going well. She was on her knees in a hotel room, crying out to God asking Jesus for help. It was a total re-emergence with God and who she is now. What the devil wanted to use for harm has been transformed into how God's glory has shined through in Nicholette's life.
