{Only Two Spots Left!!!} Applications are closing soon for my Exclusive 1:1 Expansion Coaching: Apply today When I made the decision to launch my own business, after 10 years of juggling a side hustle while working in Corporate – I expected support/encouragement from the people around me. The funny thing was…..the more I talked about my plans, and what I was doing…..the more negativity and skepticism I ran into. It dampened my excitement, and made me question my choices (and my sanity!). I was getting comments like:“When it doesn't work out, you can always re-apply for your job!”“What about the benefits?!?! What are you gonna do without the benefits?!?” “What if you run out of clients?!”Friends and family, who had always been my pillars of support….suddenly became the bearers of doubt and negativity. They questioned my decisions, they focused on the risks/challenges associated with entrepreneurship….and I know their concerns were well-intentioned, but I was overwhelmed by the constant stream of negativity! And I'll be honest – this negativity took a massive toll on my confidence, and my belief in myself. There were moments when I wondered – am I making a mistake?!?I had to look at things from a different perspective, and realize that the negativity was coming from a place of fear and uncertainty. Sound familiar? Here's a sneak peek at what you'll hear about, once you hit PLAY: What is a “negative nellie?” No one gets to make us feel any sort of way, unless we give them permission Common traits of unsupportive people Is it vindictiveness, or is it poor communication skills and a desire to keep you safe? Definition of Invocation: The summoning of a deity or the supernatural for assistanceBenjamin has written a book called Instant Divine Assistance (available on Amazon) about how we each have the power to summon the divine within ourselves to call in peace,  joy, healing, and a good dose of yummy bliss any old time we want to. Daily? Yes please! In the episode we talk about: What is an embodied awakening Why surrendering is the key to calling in what you wantThe story of how Benjamin discovered his embodied awakening invocationCalling on our highest self and what it can do for youExperiencing daily bliss all on your own How to peel back the layers of what we know to allow our true essence to emergeHow pain and trauma blocks our natural state of harmony, flow and graceWhat is shadow work and why it's important to face it head onFacing, healing and releasing trauma for goodHow to connect to the divine withinWhy allowing is not being passiveHow accountability comes into playWhat to do when you get triggered and how embodied awareness can helpThis practice is SO simple and SO powerful. Benjamin actually guides me through an invocation ON the episode. It felt incredibly healing and put me into a very relaxed and calm state. And the best part is it's fast, easy and I can do it anytime and anywhere all on my own. Many players struggle to bounce back after one ACL tear, while two would be the end for most. So imagine suffering three ACL injuries, and being forced to sit out from the time you were a high school senior until you were a fifth-year senior in college. That's the 1,788-day odyssey that Jelani Williams has lived through. Shining on his high school team as they made a perennial push to the state title game and holding his own against the likes of #1 prospect and current Denver Nugget Michael Porter, Jr., Jelani had his pick of Power 5 schools. He chose to play at Penn so that he could get an Ivy League education as well as develop his basketball skills. A savvy leader since his sophomore year, Jelani's squad lost in the final game of the year his junior year but went on a big win streak their senior season to make it back to the state title game. But Jelani was forced to watch from the sideline after tearing his ACL. Just after he was cleared to play, his other knee buckled and he knew immediately what had happened and another year was lost. Then came more heartache when the same thing occurred 12 months later. Determined not to quit the game he loved, Jelani doubled down on his rehab and in November 2021 played his first college game for Penn, 1,788 after that fateful moment in high school. In this episode, Jelani reveals:Why he felt joy to see his teammates life the state championship trophy when he couldn't playWhat impact his family and faith has had on his comebackHow he's been a vocal leader to his college teammates from the sidelinesWhy he kept going through three ACL surgeriesWhat it means to be back on the court after so long out of the gameFollow Jelani's comeback journey via his Instagram account.

#003-Can an overemphasis on keeping kids safe actually be causing more harm than good? This episode highlights how much has changed in the level of freedom and childhood experiences over the years and the long term implications that may result. This is a conversation with Brenda Richards, an occupational therapist who offers a program called Timbernook. The program uses nature-based play experiences to foster mental, emotional and physical health to kids of all abilities. We discuss:Some of the challenges in the current environment of allowing kids more responsibility and freedom to roam.Whether crime statistics match current perceptions of danger.Brenda's story of how she transitioned from working in a nursing home to opening her own private practice working with children. How a current trend in deficits of "typically developing" children may correlate with how kids are being raised including Container Baby Syndrome, safer playgrounds and a lack of unstructured, unsupervised outdoor play experiences. The benefits of mixed age group play and healthy risk taking. The hygiene hypothesis and other research of the benefits of outdoor playWhat the Timbernook philosophy and experience is and how it can benefit kids in the current climate. If you are interested in more information on Timbernook or The Center for LifeSkills, contact Brenda Richards, OTR/LBrenda.Richards@Timbernook.comgrow@center4lifeskills.comTimbernook of Greater ClevelandThanks for listening and please subscribe to the show. Music provided by “Farm” Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com)Licensed under Creative Commons: By Attribution 4.0 Licensehttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/
