Send us a textGear up for an energizing discussion on tech stacks and smart scaling! In this midweek episode of the Customer Success Playbook, Kevin Metzger and Roman Trebon welcome Joe Di Grande back to tackle a pressing issue: bloated CS tech stacks. Joe shares why so many organizations fall into this trap and delivers actionable advice on how to avoid or fix it. From building cross-functional committees to starting tech ops planning early, Joe's wisdom is essential for anyone striving to build a lean, mean customer success machine.Detailed Analysis: Joe Di Grande's return to the Customer Success Playbook is like having your favorite professor hand you the cheat sheet to a passing grade. In this session, he unpacks why bloated tech stacks happen: a lack of operational foresight, siloed decision-making, and the absence of data-first strategies. Acquisition fever might keep the lights on, but without systems thinking, organizations find themselves in a tangled mess of redundant tools.Joe highlights a proactive cure: form a cross-functional committee that includes sales, marketing, CS, and product voices. Bonus points if you find your "ops-minded" champions by tapping the power users of existing tools! His approach is practical, tactical, and refreshingly unpretentious. For those starting from scratch (aka "dream budget approved!" scenarios), Joe delivers a fantasy list of tech essentials: a reliable CRM, a centralized data warehouse, sales engagement tools, data enrichment platforms, marketing automation solutions, and customer success platforms—all strategically selected to foster scalability and transparency.Joe's core advice? Think operations early, communicate often, and let your data be the thread tying it all together. It's a masterclass in balancing ambition with operational excellence for any customer success playbook. Now you can interact with us directly by leaving a voice message at https://www.speakpipe.com/CustomerSuccessPlaybookPlease Like, Comment, Share and Subscribe. Doug Ramshaw, President of Minera Alamos (TSX.V:MAI – OTCQX:MAIFF), joins us for a comprehensive review of the Santa Mine operations and production expansion in 2024 in Sonora, Mexico; as well as the further derisking work going on, while awaiting the permits, at the Cerro De Oro gold development project in Zacatecas, Mexico. At Santana, the Company has completed plans to optimize the use of existing installed leach pad capacity to boost production on a go forward basis. As outlined in a February 22nd release, these plans involve mining and stacking of approximately 25,000 oz of gold over a 12-month period that will commence in May 2024 and should see a significant improvement in gold production relative to 2023 levels, beginning in Q3 and extending through to into 2025 before an expected normalizing of operations at Santana thereafter. Following the conclusion of planning with the Company's existing mine contractor, their operating fleet and infrastructure has been updated (mining and crushing) to suit the current mine plans for the Nicho Main pit. Blasthole drilling is underway with mining operations to follow. The company is still advancing permitting, engineering, metallurgical work, geological, and other geotechnical work to continue to de-risk the Cerro de Oro Gold Project as it moves down the pathway into production as the Company's second operating gold mine. Initial projections were for this mine to produce 60,000 ounces annually for 8+ years, but Doug also highlights the upside potential through exploration and resource expansion, as well as the leach pad capacity, where the goal is to see if the potential is there to eventually push production to upwards of 80,000 – 90,000 ounces per annum over more like 11-12 years. Engineering work continues to progress for Cerro de Oro in order to advance pre-development activities to coincide with the ultimate receipt of permits and a construction decision for the project. Wrapping up, we also discussed the news about the recent acquisition of the Suaqui Verde copper project will allow the Company to start a series of internal engineering studies aimed at the best path(s) for the development of a regional copper developer/producer focused on low capital intensity copper projects. The combination of Los Verdes, Poteritos and Suaqui Verde allows for further consolidation of similar type assets that could form a regional copper production "hub" in the area where the Company already maintains a significant presence. Please email us with any follow up questions for Doug regarding Minera Alamos. Our email addresses are Fleck@kereport.com and Shad@kereport.com. In full disclosure, Shad is a shareholder of Minera Alamos at the time of this recording. Click here to follow along with the latest news from Minera Alamos
Samyr Laine might be a model for how to become a Haitian-American in the 21st century. Son of Haitian emigrants, Laine was a roommate of Mark Zuckerberg at Harvard, competed at the London 2012 Olympics as a Haitian triple jumper, and is now an entrepreneur and investor in sports and entertainment. It's quite a remarkable story and will speaks, to some, of the continued existence of the American Dream. Although Laine himself might question this optimistic interpretation of his narrative, suggesting to me that discrimination against immigrants, particularly those of black or brown skins, remains a troublingly central feature of 21st century American life. Samyr Laine is an investor, Olympian, and operator with a background in sports & entertainment. He is currently GP of Freedom Trail Capital, SVP of The Creator Project at Raptive, former SVP of Operations & Strategy at Westbrook, and former Senior Director of Operations at Roc Nation. The numbers are in and 90% of all business ideas will fail miserably. But don't fret, most of the ideas fail because many struggle with the transfer of the idea into a tangible product or service that solves a big enough problem to be in constant demand. The goal is to take your idea and lay out the vision to then convert that into an actionable plan with a proof of concept that becomes an undeniable product, service, or deliverable that can generate consistent revenue and scale.Let's discuss how to be part of the 10% that actually makes it work!Beyond The Episode Gems:Grow Your Business Faster Using HubSpot's CRM PlatformBuy My Book Strategize Up to Maximize the Growth & Profitability of Your BusinessGet Free HubSpot Marketing Tools To Help You Grow Your Business Discover All of the Podcats on the HubSpot Podcast NetworkGet Two Free Months of Agorapulse on me: Social.Agorapulse.com/FindTroyRead My Article on HubSpot's Marketing Blog : 3 Reasons So Many Business Strategies Fail (And How To Succeed)Read My Article on Social Media Pulse: AI-Powered Productivity Hacks For A Social Media Manager#####Support The Podcast & Connect With Troy: • Rate & Review iDigress: iDigress.fm/Reviews• Get Strategy Solutions & Services: FindTroy.com• Buy Troy's Book, Strategize Up: StrategizeUpBook.com• Follow Troy on Twitter: Twitter.com/FindTroy
Brain Hurt Scale = 2/10 There's a famous quote by Kleiner Perkins' OG John Doer, "Ideas are easy. Execution is everything. It takes a team to win". If you've ever been responsible for bottom line results, you'll agree and nod because you know this quote to be true. Unfortunately, mastering the craft of execution is not politically advantageous. Instead, most companies reward those who are seen as a big picture thinkers not those fussing with details in the weeds. So we talk about higher-level constructs like brand, strategy, mindset, buzzwords, general approaches etc. And then outsource as much of the grunt work as possible to further this image, and as a political hedge. But, it's only when you've done the task yourself and architected operational systems, that you truly appreciate how critical the smallest details are to success. Hundreds of layered details which cascade with compounding effects that have a massive impact on the final result. And this is something that can't be solved with more tech, more planning, new frameworks, more consultants or more close-the-gap meetings. This phenomenon is especially pernicious in the field of sales/marketing/growth. A reliance on third-party vendors (agencies) to execute the work became necessary for political survival. But over time, it's led to an underappreciation of the value and importance of operations. If you work for a large brand, halo effects also hide this importance. It's only when we move to smaller organizations do we fully understand how critical it is to success. If we just took some time to at least know the basics, we would save a lot of miscommunication, misinterpretation, and failure downstream. Which brings us to today's episode with Mike Rizzo, founder of the MarketingOps community since 2017. Whether you want to call it marketing ops, growth ops, sales ops or revops it doesn't matter. Chances are the name will change again in a year or two anyway. This chat with Mike will allow us all to get a crash course in the discipline and hopefully use this knowledge to do better work. Strangely enough, most firms, don't even have a marketing ops hire. And if they do, it's more of a technician without a broader understanding of how everything else fits together into a system guided by strategy. Then there's other marketers who are doing marketing ops without even realizing it. So lets step down a few tiers from the business strategy or functional strategy layers and explore the operational strategy layer. With someone who lives and breathes marketing ops.
Companies can no longer operate like its 2019 thanks to continued consumer shifts and new and growing risks across supply chains. A former Crocs PD manager joins us to share the headaches everyone using old systems are facing and what they need to do to update strategy and systems. He explains what better operations look like - smarter, easier, faster, less risk and more cost controlled - through a Centric Software PLM system that organizes teams and data. With special guest: Matt Nakari, Sales Director, Centric Software

Is your sales team struggling to close the deal? Is your marketing team losing qualified leads? Inbound marketing and digital transformation agency Behind the Work explains why you should consider revenue operations (RevOps). Go to https://behindthework.com/resource/revenue-operations-guide for more information.
We have talked before about how marketing, sales, and customer experience should work together, rather than in silos... But we have never had a guest explain there is an actual framework and strategy around this called "Revenue Operations" (Rev Ops). Having alignment of sales, marketing, and customer success across the FULL customer lifecycle is a way to be more efficient across all departments, and Rev Ops helps you get there. We discuss how this might be a potential solution as we could be approaching a recession. It doesn't take more staff -- Rev Ops is based around using your staff smarter across the entire organization. Community also comes into the chat, and so much more. Our guest... Lindsay Martin-Bilbrey, CMP A lover of ice sculptures and integrations, Lindsay aims to make revenue ops, events, and technology easier for you (and your participants) to use and participants to enjoy. She brings nearly 20 years experience helping brands create experiences that leave lasting emotional impressions, while solving real business problems using a thoughtful mix of strategy, creativity, and innovation. Lindsay is an accomplished speaker, event professional, and marketer, with work featured in the New York Times, EdWeek, Personify TV, and the Association Research Lab. Artists can do many things with their work to combat injustice: begin or contribute to larger conversations affecting people; bring light to an issue not being addressed by society; conceptualize a solution to a problem in a new way; etc. But some issues are so vast and large that even addressing it presents its own series of issues. One could enter a conversation with generations of artists having already laid the groundwork, requiring research and participation before engagement. A good question for artists to ask themselves is: am I the right person to bring this issue up? We will have two guests discuss the work it takes to address political and/or social issues in their practice and what considerations artists should do before entering new conversations with their work.
