(Kejadian 3:9) Renungan: Adam dan Hawa memakan buah dari pohon pengetahuan tentang yang baik dan yang jahat, yang dilarang Allah untuk mereka makan atau sentuh. Kini Adam dan Hawa menyadari bahwa mereka telanjang sehingga mereka menyematkan daun ara dan membuat cawat. Mereka tahu bahwa mereka telah melanggar perintah Allah, dan sekarang mereka takut untuk bertemu dengan-Nya. "Tetapi Tuhan Allah memanggil manusia itu dan berfirman kepadanya: Di manakah engkau?" Apa yang ada di pikiran kita ketika membaca kejadian ini dan ketika Allah mencari-cari mereka serta bertanya, "Di manakah engkau?" Tidak sedikit umat Kristiani yang memandang Allah sebagai Pribadi yang datang dengan “alat pemukul” di tangan-Nya, siap menghukum dan mengusir kita dari hadirat-Nya ketika kita berbuat dosa atau melanggar ketetapan-Nya. Kita katakan bahwa kita adalah orang yang paling berdosa di dunia dan Allah pasti tidak akan mengampuni lagi. Pemahaman keliru itulah yang akhirnya membuat kita memutuskan untuk terus menjalani hidup jauh dari Allah. Jika selama ini kita telah jauh dari Allah, hidup di dalam dosa dan kita merasa tidak layak lagi datang kepada-Nya, ketahuilah bahwa Allah yang maha kasih itu sedang mencari kita. Dia ingin menemukan serta membawa kita kembali kepada-Nya. Dia sedang mencari kita dan bertanya, "Di manakah engkau anakku?" Pahamilah Dia sebagai seorang bapa yang hancur hati karena anak yang dikasihinya tersesat. Saat ini ketika la mencari kita, jawablah, "Ya Bapa, ini aku, aku mau kembali kepada-Mu." Tuhan Yesus memberkati. Doa: Tuhan Yesus, aku mengucap syukur karena mengenal Engkau dan menjadi anak-Mu. En este #IgnotoPills volvemos a embarcarnos junto al explorador noruego Thor Heyerdahl, esta vez rumbo a la Isla más remota del Mundo: Rapa Nui o Isla de Pascua. Este pequeño trozo de tierra en mitad del Pacífico Sur lleva habitado más de mil años por pueblos de origen desconocido y discutido. Sus costumbres, leguaje y mitologías se relacionan con las de otros pueblos polinesios, pero también hay factores que parecen indicar una cercanía con los antiguos habitantes de Sudamérica, especialmente los Incas. Estos parecidos son los que intrigaban a Thor Heyerdahl, que defendía que se habían dado contacto entre razas a ambos lados del Pacífico mucho antes de que Colón descubriera América. Con ánimo de demostrar esta hipótesis, el aventurero organizó una expedición al Pacífico Sur, centrada especialmente en Rapa Nui, en 1956. Fruto de este viaje, se recopilaron cientos de artefactos arqueológicos, se hicieron excavaciones y se recolectaron muestras genéticas de los indígenas. Pero, además, se levantó un Moai en la Isla por primera vez en siglos. Estas famosas estatuas, sello inconfundible de Pascua, habían sido derribadas años atrás, y apenas se conservaba memoria de cómo habían sido construidas. Con la ayuda de los rapanuis, habitantes de la Isla, Heyerdahl y sus compañeros pasaron un año lleno de aventuras, descubrimientos y sorpresas. También se hicieron grandes amistades y curiosas relaciones que marcaron la historia de esta importante expedición. Mucho de lo que conocemos hoy de esta intrigante islita se lo debemos a Thor Heyerdahl. No solo abrió camino a muchos otros investigadores que llegarían después, sino que nos legó un fantástico libro "Aku-Aku: el secreto de la Isla de Pascua" tan divertido como interesante. The coroner also ruled that, while the actions of Luna Park's management and staff before and during the fire (in particular their choosing not to follow advice on the installation of a sprinkler system in the ride) breached their duty of care, charges of criminal negligence should not be laid. The case was reopened in 1987: no new findings were made, although the police investigation and coronial inquiry were criticised. We will be discussing Missionary's Downfall cocktail which is an original Don the Beachcomber classic. It is a drink that was actually inspired by the Cuban's Daiquiri which Don found while travelling the Caribbean. He was fascinated that they would alter the drink and this drove him to do the same. This is a blended drink and so yes you will need a blender for this amazing drink. BUT wait there is more...a second drink that is from Smuggler's Cove book that is less frothy and slightly different in texture. Smuggler's version is altered enough that they call it Aku Aku. Add the remaining ingredients and 12 ounces of crushed ice and flash blend for 10 seconds. Double-strain into a chilled coupe glass. Float a large mint leaf on top of the drink.

The Polynesian dining experience and tiki bars were popular in Las Vegas just like any other American city of the 50's, 60's and 70's.  Don The Beachcomber at the Sahara was reason enough to visit A Place In The Sun.  And the Aku Aku at the Stardust was one of the most well known tiki palaces in the western United States.  And then.......the 1980's happened.  And for the most of three decades tiki was in severe decline.
