St. Patrick's Day at Walt Disney World is a fun celebration. From food to festivities and fashion, Disney does a great job of celebrating the Irish spirit every March. We share our top picks for food, plus the best places to be and what to wear to join in the fun. What to Wear, Where to Go and What to Eat for St. Patrick's Day at Walt Disney World The Best Things to Do For St. Patrick's Day at Disney World While St. Patrick's Day officially falls on Sunday, March 17 in 2024, the festivities at Disney World are already under way and many of the Disney treats and drinks extend to the end of March. So even if you won't be there on the exact day, there are still opportunities to enjoy the spirit of the celebration. Top Picks for St. Patrick's Day Food at Walt Disney World You can find specialty food items for St. Patrick's Day across much of Walt Disney World. Disney Springs the Disney resort hotels are your best bet for St. Patrick's Day specialty food items. For 2024, our top foodie pick from what's new for Disney's St. Patrick's Day food is found at Gasparilla Island Grill at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort. Head to this quick service dining spot and get your hands on the Irish Cream Cheesecake. Not only is this a photo-worthy dessert (featuring the Grand Floridian's trademark logo on top), but it's also a delicious Bailey's Irish Cream Cheesecake with Chantilly cream and gold "coins," which are edible of course. This is a true pot of gold and our top pick for St. Patrick's Day 2024. You'll find more St. Patrick's Day treats at Beaches and Cream (Shamrock Shake anyone?), Roaring Fork and more Disney hotel establishments. Disney Springs is the best all-in-one spot for St. Patrick's Day specialty treats. Start at Amorette's Patisserie, the Ganachery and Ghirardelli for sweet treats and don't forget the City Works Eatery and Pour House for a St. Patrick's Day cocktail and D-Luxe Burger for another shake. This is only scratching the surface, so come hungry and enjoy a little spirit of the Irish! Where to Go to Celebrate St. Patrick's Day at Walt Disney World As you can tell from the food offerings, Disney Springs is party central for St. Patrick's Day festivities. From food, to fun to decorations and festivities, if you really want to get into the spirit of St. Patrick's Day, then head to Disney Springs. Raglan Road is extremely popular on St. Patrick's Day. If you're hoping to walk up and grab a seat inside, you'll likely be disappointed. However, they do have patio space available usually and while it's very busy it is possible to find a place if you come early (as in the afternoon) or if you don't mind waiting. But it's not the only game in town. The Best Park at Walt Disney World for St. Patrick's Day Celebrations If you want to celebrate St. Patrick's Day in a Disney World park, Disney's Hollywood Studios is the place to be. In past years the fun has begun outside of the gates, with upbeat humor and a live host ringing in St. Patrick's Day. EPCOT is another good park option for St. Patrick's Day, particularly in World Showcase around the U.K. pavilion area. What to Wear to Celebrate St. Patrick's Day at Walt Disney World If you really want to get into the spirit of St. Patrick's Day at Walt Disney World by dressing for the occasion, you won't be alone. Wearing any sort of green is a good bet if you don't want to go all out. But if you do like to dress for the occasion, you won't be alone. At Disney Springs you'll see lots of St. Paddy's day accessories, from hats, to shamrock necklaces and more. So this is a great place to go if you want to dress up for St. Patrick's Day and feel like you're part of a big Disney Irish party. The same goes for Disney's Hollywood Studios. You'll see plenty of St. Paddy's Day revelers there as well. Plus, with the EPCOT Flower and Garden Festival also happening at the same time, Amelia has some great fashion outfit tips for how to combine it all into the perfect and easy-to-pack outfits. Disney's latest update to Genie+ isn't really big news, but it is a welcome enhancement that may signal more things to come. The good and the bad of this update for the Disney traveler, plus Rogers: The Musical top tips and more Disney travel news. Update to Disney Genie+ Service at Walt Disney WorldIn a first baby step towards making Disney Genie+ a little more flexible, you will now have the option to purchase Genie+ for a single-park option or a new multiple-parks option. With this addition prices may be lower at some parks compared to others. Nothing else has changed. What we're all really waiting for is the ability to be able to make Genie+ reservations before the day of your visit. So while this is a welcome change, it is nothing more than a baby step with the hopes of truly bigger news still to come.--How to Increase Your Odds of Seeing ‘Rogers: The Musical' at Disney California Adventure ParkRogers: The Musical kicks off this week at Disney California Adventure Park and runs until August 31. With that in mind, here is the most important news you need to know as a Disney traveler.Joining the free virtual queue on the Disneyland app is recommendedRogers: The Musical will have several shows daily, Tuesday through Saturday most weeks during its limited-time run. You can gain access to the viewing areas for the show through a virtual queue system available only through the Disneyland app. Each performance day, distribution for the complimentary virtual queue will start at 10:30 a.m. PT for the first two shows of the day and it will reopen at 2:00 p.m. PT for the remaining shows each day.The virtual queue isn't mandatory, but it's highly recommended. If the virtual queue is full, you can check in at the Hyperion Theater before Rogers: The Musical begins to check for any walk-up viewing options.Dining Package for Rogers: The MusicalInstead of going the virtual queue route, you can try to buy a “Rogers: The Musical” Premium Viewing Experience package for $29 per person from the Studio Catering Co. Truck in Hollywood Land. We say try because quantities are limited per performance. The package includes a “Rogers: The Musical” popcorn bucket with kettle corn and choice of bottled beverage, plus access to lounge seating before the show, priority choice of seating in the theater, a souvenir lanyard and access to a unique photo opportunity. --Updates on San Fransokyo Square at Disney California Adventure ParkStarting in mid-July, you'll be able to try some new San Fransokyo food at Lucky Fortune Cookery and the Port of San Fransokyo Cervecería. More dining options and new shopping will open through mid-August.Here's more about what you'll be able to see and do in San Fransokyo Square.· Interact with Hiro and Baymax, who will say hello outside the Hamada Bot Shop. · Near the Hamada Bot Shop will be the San Fransokyo Maker's Market, a store stocked with apparel, homewares and more featuring Baymax and friends. Be sure to look up to the rafters overhead to find the local battlebot champion, Hiro's Megabot.· Across the way, a vending machine will dispense collectible golden medallions featuring Baymax and other images from San Fransokyo.A look at some of the new San Fransokyo dining options:Aunt Cass Café, the second bakery café operated by Hiro's loving aunt, will serve soups in freshly-baked Boudin sourdough bread bowls and other Japanese-inspired cuisine. Watch for the mural of Aunt Cass' lucky pet cat, Mochi on the storefront. An old fishing net tannery across from the café is being converted to Rita's Turbine Blenders, a giant drink dispenser offering margaritas and cold drinks. How did they narrow it down to six? The team rode the attraction over and over again testing how various tracks fit with the spirit and the movement of the coaster. They finally settled on the following six songs in their original classic versions: “September” “Disco Inferno” “Conga” “Everybody Wants to Rule the World” “I Ran” “One Way or Another” You won't know which track you're going to hear until you blast off. Plus we now know that the theme of the ride is to help stop Eson, the Celestial villain who is trying to complete an evil plan. --Connections Café & Eatery is Now Open at EPCOTConnections Café & Eatery is open and ready to serve in the World Celebration neighborhood. The restaurant's design includes nods to Walt Disney's original plans for EPCOT. There are two experiences – an eatery on one side serving lunch and dinner menus, and a café and pastry shop on the other open all day long. When walking past Spaceship Earth on the way into the park, Connections Café and Eatery is on the left. Floor-to-ceiling windows give a full view of the open space featuring modern décor and tempting smells of pastries baking, fresh coffee brewing and burgers on the grill. Since World Celebration is located in the center of the park, Connections Café & Eatery offers some great views as well.A colorful mural called “Global Gathering” covers one wall and reflects the heart of the restaurant – people from around the world gathering around food. It's one of the biggest murals Walt Disney Imagineering has ever created. Take note how the scenes blend seamlessly from sunrise to sunset. You can also see chefs at work in three show kitchens. Watch them grilling, sautéing and baking everything from burgers to pizzas and sprinkling pixie dust on fun desserts from milkshakes to waffles.Whether it's coffee or tea, you'll find it here showcasing how various cultures enjoy their favorite drinks. As always at WDW, don't forget to look down. There are three original floor inlays inspired by Walt's 1966 “Florida Project” site plans, where EPCOT was to serve as the “center” of Walt Disney World. These details honor Walt's original dream of EPCOT. --‘Finding Nemo: The Big Blue… and Beyond!' Michael Brody-Waite, a recovering addict, acclaimed speaker, 3x CEO, Inc. 500 Founder, andleadership coach is on a mission to revolutionize the rules of leadership. Michael's unique perspective, from a background in overcoming addiction, is the foundation for his Mask Free Leadership System, built upon three principles that saved him from death and set him apart as a leader. His TEDx talk, Great Leaders Do What Drug Addicts Do, has been viewed nearly 1,000,000 times in over 25 countries and provides insight into his 16-year journey from near homelessness and addiction to successful entrepreneurship. With no college degree, Michael entered corporate America and went on to receive eight promotions in seven years. He went from a temporary representative at a kiosk in a mall for a Fortune 50 company to be a corporate manager of a three-state territory with 19 employees and responsibility for $250 million in revenue. In 2010, Michael left that Fortune 50 company at the height of the recession to co-found and lead InQuicker, a healthcare SaaS company that revolutionized how patients schedule appointments. His leadership grew the organization from two employees to 50 employees, and 20,000% revenue growth in less than six years. This exceptional growth landed InQuicker a spot on the Inc. 500 list of Fastest-Growing Private Companies, Best Place to Work by the Nashville Business Journal four times and recognized as Healthcare Company of the Year by the Nashville Chamber of Commerce. In 2015, InQuicker was sold to a publicly traded company. Brody-Waite's accomplishments include being named Most Admired CEO, Top 40 Under 40 by the Nashville Business Journal, and recognized by the Nashville Chamber of Commerce as Healthcare Entrepreneur of the Year. Michael has worked in retail, spent nearly a decade in corporate America, and most recently served as the CEO of the Nashville Entrepreneur Center, a 501c3 dedicated to connecting 2,000+ entrepreneurs with the resources they need to create, launch or grow a business. Michael calls Nashville home with his wife, Elizabeth, and beautiful daughter, Amorette. Show Highlights: There are three things that I teach in starting a business: the first is practice rigorous authenticity, the second is surrender the outcome, and the third is do uncomfortable work. —Michael Brody WaiteUncomfortable work comes down to a physical sense in our body. The key to uncomfortable work is the two principles that come before it. The two things that stop uncomfortable work are when you lack clarity and energy. —Michael Brody WaiteWe focus so much on what we can't control and not enough on what you can control. —Michael Brody WaiteWe're so focused on others that a lot of us have forgotten how to lead ourselves. —Michael Brody Waite Michael's final thoughts: Entrepreneurship is one of the loneliest things you can do, but you're not alone. You don't need to figure it out on your own, you should learn how to ask for help—just like a drug addict needs to. We are celebrating my dad's birthday on our upcoming trip, and we wanted to get a special cake. The cast member I spoke to regarding dining reservations wasn't sure if Amorette's Patisserie delivers, and the Disney website says that you can pre-order and pick up a cake from Amorette's to enjoy at your resort, but it doesn't mention any delivery options. I called Amorette's directly and got the answer! They will deliver the large dome character cakes or their signature red velvet cake to Disney Springs restaurants. Order 72 hours ahead of time to ensure delivery and pre-payment is required. While we could have picked up the cake ourselves and brought it to dinner, it'll be nice to keep the cake a surprise for my dad and have it waiting for us at The Boathouse!"
