Are you an "Amazonian"? Are you an Amazon Ecommerce Seller? Are you an Instacart Shopper? This is the episode for you!! Listen in as Nater Youngchild talks about what it takes to get to each stage of the entrepreneur journey, and got you here won't necessarily get you there. Nater Youngchild has been an entrepreneur since the age of 18, a lifelong adventurer, ex-Amazonian and first-generation college graduate. His first startup was a grocery delivery service in Seattle, WA that ended up competing with Amazon Fresh's beta test and brought him to Amazon. Nater developed the Household Supplies category while at Amazon in the early 2010's. After his time as an Amazonian, Nater launched an Amazon full service agency where he operated hundreds of Amazon Seller and Vendor accounts, driving over $500MM in Amazon sales growth for partner brands. Nater also ran his own brands as a Seller on Amazon and is today focused on offline sales expansion for the brands he owns and operates. Nater built a software tool to make running Amazon businesses effective and efficient called D8a Driven in 2019, and sold that software company to Carbon6 in 2023. Nater is now an investor in Carbon6 and a General Manager for D8a Driven, as well as a resident Amazon expert who supports several of their other great tools built for Amazon Sellers and Vendors. He is married to a Canadian entrepreneur, and they live a life of adventure based out of a travel van and mountain home in the Canadian Rockies. Nater prides himself on a balanced life between entrepreneurial ventures, mountain adventures (with a keen focus on backcountry snowboarding and snowmobiling) and a deep connection with his family, colleagues, and friends abroad. In this episode we go inside the mind of Justin Cobb, the head of Carbon6. Carbon6 came out of stealth last year at Prosper with the end goal of centralising software so Amazon sellers have a single login and have enough best in class tools to efficiently run their Amazon business. About Justin Lifelong competitor. Won numerous competitions playing saxophone in grade school. Loved sports but undersized and thus went out for the wrestling team as a Freshman in high school. Rough start, 1 win and 19 losses in year one. Loved the sport and went all-in round the calendar and two years later won a state championship. Took that winning mindset to business. In 2002, upon graduating college, while taking a year off before law school, started a direct sales company. Training others to run their own business, Justin moved to England, Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Spain, Portugal, Italy and Poland before returning to the US in 2015. Today that sales force spans 15 countries, generating north of $1bn in revenue and donations for the largest for-profit and non-profit companies in the Western world. After a failed attempt at early retirement in which he had planned on becoming a full time investor, at a time during Covid when e-commerce was flying, Justin saw a gap in the market for top tech solutions servicing the professional seller and other large brands on Amazon and formed Carbon6. Carbon6 has combined successful serial entrepreneurs, some of the greatest minds in the Amazon community and accomplished career SaaS professionals to create the ecosystem for the professional marketplace seller. The mission is to simplify success online.
Tim Jordan is the Founder and CEO of Private Label Legion, a community of sellers and entrepreneurs. He is also the Co-founder and Chief Strategy Officer at Carbon6. As a long-term Amazon seller, Tim provides e-commerce consulting services to entrepreneurs within the online marketplace. He has been selling for many years on Amazon and Shopify, and is now selling on Walmart. In this episode... Although the e-commerce space has experienced massive growth over the years, many online sellers struggle to grow sales outside of Amazon.. This has created a dire need to find alternative markets for online products. Walmart, with its great infrastructure and large distribution system, provides a great opportunity for e-commerce sellers to diversify their market. In addition, strong partnerships with other brands like Google and Shopify make Walmart competitive compared to Amazon and other online marketplaces. Tim Jordan, the Founder and CEO of Private Label Legion, joins Rich Goldstein in this episode of the Innovations and Breakthroughs Podcast to discuss current e-commerce opportunities at Walmart and Alibaba. They also talk about Walmart's selling guidelines, how the marketplace's infrastructure and partnerships drive growth, and why Tim founded Carbon6.

Adam Heist Makes His Debut As Host Adam Runquist, also known as "Heist," discovered the Amazon marketplace four years ago while working on the executive team of a leading outdoor products brand. Through his efforts, he was able to take that business from 8 to 9 figures, and he became deeply interested in the power of marketplace channels and physical products brands. Since then, Adam has started, sold, and invested in multiple Amazon native brands. This week we've switched the podcast up a notch. With Tom away and George Meressa at various events our head of marketing Sarah Lamb gave George the challenge to talk to as many interesting people at the events he's been attending as possible. This is the first of a number of podcasts following that challenge through. George sat down with Clayton Aitchison, ambassador for Carbon6 and went into detail on all things Pixel Me and pixel tracking. The discussion is great for those of you who are looking to do off Amazon advertising as you'll pick up some great tips here that you probably won't be expecting! Our second guest for the podcast is Jamie Davidson who is a highly successful Amazon seller who exited his business and has since created the AMZ insiders group. Which train people on how to be successful on Amazon. Jamie and George go into great detail about what it takes to be successful on Amazon and some of the things that Jamie learnt and would do differently. We really hope you enjoy this episode. Please do subscribe to the podcast and share it with your colleagues, friends or anyone you think would find the contents useful. We are always happy to hear from Amazon sellers who are looking for that extra support with their Amazon Advertising account. If that's you pop over to https://clearadsagency.com and book a call. We'd love to hear from you!
Amazon Exits in 2023 - Roundtable (The Brokers) Today I am joined by Michal Baumwald Oron, Ben Leonard and Chris Shipferling. We had a golden run from late 2019 until the beginning of 2022 (exits) when deals across the industry dried up almost overnight. Then in March (2022) we started to see the public layoffs across the aggregators and less money being raised across the board. As the multiples came down, sellers started to focus their energy on growth and now we are starting to see signs of an uptick of deals getting done again. Today we discuss some of these trends with brokers that get to see everything across the board, not just deals done with aggregators but also private buyers in the market. Michal Baumwald Oron, CEO, and co-founder of Fortunet, a leading investment banking firm specialising in e-commerce. With 25+ years of experience as an executive manager, investment banker, and commercial lawyer in senior positions at international leading brands, Michal has led major public offerings, including initial public offerings (IPOs) and follow-on offerings, as well as M&A global transactions and joint ventures. Ben Leonard is the classic millennial entrepreneur. He built a business on a laptop, in a cupboard, in his spare time. The difference? Ben grew an international 7-figure business and successfully exited after 3 years; the business holy grail. Now Ben is doing it all over again, and helping others to do the same with his e-commerce brokerage (EcomBrokers.co.uk) who help sellers sell now, or will mentor you to the perfect exit. ………………………………………………………………………………. If so, apply for your free consultation with Joie Roberts and the AMZ Insiders' team of experts here => www.amzinsiders.org/apply?sl=fp #AmazonFBA #WomeninBusiness #ecommerce The fast and ever-changing nature of the Amazon marketplace for sellers could scare many, but not our guest for today's show, Vanessa Hung. Thriving in creativity and innovation, Vanessa sits with Joie in this episode of the Fearless Sellers Podcast to reveal the secrets to her influential success in the industry despite the rapidly changing policies and practices, which include embracing discomfort and constant innovation and developing a problem-solving mindset. Vanessa is the CEO of Online Seller Solutions as well as a Community Ambassador at Carbon6. Vanessa's journey started as an E-commerce manager for another company that wanted to get on Amazon. She was responsible for building the company's presence on the platform from the ground up, but because the company was a reseller and not a brand, she wasn't in charge of product development or shipping from China. Seeing businesses like that navigate the otherwise unsexy side of Amazon with a degree of difficulty, which includes things like inventory management, order fulfillment, and customer service, Vanessa realized the opportunity—she could form an agency that provides this support to them—and made the best out of it! Though starting the agency was a big risk as it required leaving her previous E-commerce manager job, and it did cause her nine months of financial difficulty, she kept going because she believed in the idea. Today, it has almost 20 employees, and she's proud of the progress they have made. And though she occasionally compares her agency with bigger ones employing 100-200 people, she's proud of her growth. Of the many lessons she gives away today, the important ones include: Vanessa's pet peeve of people not being real about the difficulties of selling on Amazon. As an educator in the space, she tries to put out real content to help sellers understand the real challengesthey may face. She also gets underneath the presence of automation in the industry and advises people to stay away from it, encouraging people to reach out to them for real advice. Frustrated at people overselling the ease of the Amazon sellers' business, Vanessa emphasizes that starting a business on Amazon is not easy but rewarding but you have to be all-in for it if you want to succeed. And though it's not uncommon for people to get lost in the vast sea of opportunities, you have to remind yourself to stick to your niche. She also discusses the importance of surrounding yourself with people who are aligned with your vision and mindset when starting a business. Vanessa mentions that her team is composed of rockstars and that she owes a lot to them for taking things off her plate. Learning how to delegate is important to achieve success. Today's guest is a successful entrepreneur with 2 Amazon exits, one was building a brand in Health & Beauty, the other was building a SaaS platform (SellerTools) for Amazon sellers, which led him to his current role at Carbon6 as a M&A advisor. He's also an active mentor in the growing Amazon seller community on Facebook. Takeaways: Embrace the chaos to a degree, and then find that path, that sequence reverse engineering based on your goals and objectives. Achieve a variety of outcomes, if you start selling on Amazon and utilize FBA, create a spectrum more of a cash flowing business where maybe you're running very lean, you're being very cost efficient in your business. You can level up and be focusing more on structure, strategy and growth. It's important to make sure that you bring online a reliable accountability system, a good project or task management tool that's suitable for your team. Try some asset management tool online as well, that makes sure that when you're saving things, more active files, different assets, business or otherwise, you have a very clear place to save some of those resources.Quote of the Show:What is your North Start and how do you make the best decisions for the desired outcome? Paul Harvey joins me today for an interesting conversation... Amazon operators are in high demand due to the influx of aggregators. But most companies and aggregators are struggling to find good talent. The irony is that most Amazon sellers fail... but still know a lot more than the aggregator's without operational chops and would be an asset to any ecom business.
Dave D. Taylor is an American game programmer, best known as a former id Software employee and noted for his work promoting Linux gaming. In 1993 he graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering. Taylor worked for id Software between 1993 and 1996, and was during the time involved with the development of Doom and Quake. He created ports of both games to IRIX, AIX, Solaris and Linux, and helped program the Atari Jaguar ports of Doom and Wolfenstein 3D. He also considers himself to have been the "spackle coder" on Doom, for adding things such as the status bar, sound library integration, the automap, level transitions, cheat codes, and the network chat system. On Quake, he wrote the original sound engine, the DOS TCP/IP network library, and added VESA 2.0 support. One of the musical themes in Doom II, "Dave D. Taylor Blues", was named after him by Robert Prince. The 2003 book Masters of Doom: How Two Guys Created an Empire and Transformed Pop Culture mentions his habit of passing out from motion sickness after prolonged playing of Doom, and how the other employees would, after such incidents, sketch a body outline of his unconscious form with masking tape. After the success of the game, they bought him a couch to pass out on. His attempts to "talk up" Quake on-line, his purchase of an Acura NSX with Doom money, his friendship with American McGee, and his eventual departure from the company are also mentioned. Taylor founded a small game company called Crack dot Com from 1996 to 1998. Crack dot Com released only one game, Abuse, a PC platform shooter. In a 1997 interview, he claimed that he wasn't particularly proud of Abuse, and that "he set out to prove that a person could sell 50,000 copies of a so-so game." He then led the effort to build Golgotha, a first-person shooter / real-time strategy hybrid, but the company folded before its completion. Between 1998 and 2001 he worked for Transmeta. He was president of Carbon6 from 2001 to 2002, also working as lead designer and producer for the Game Boy Advance game Spy Kids Challenger. Since 2002 he has been vice president of Naked Sky Entertainment and since 2003 also an advisor and freelance game designer. He is also willing to act as a Linux game porter for pay projects. In 2009, he produced Abuse Classic for the Apple iPhone and Beakiez for the PC.
