The Midwest band Cloud Cult is more than a band – it's a creative collective who continually celebrates life and love, and catharsis through music and multimedia performances (CloudCult.com.) They're also known for their ecofriendly ways of making and touring their music. Recently in 2022, their orchestral-folk-rock sound was expanded as they were playing and recording with the Minnesota Orchestra. Over the years, the band has embraced joy as an act of resilience, and their latest, Alchemy Creek was written, recorded and produced by front man Craig Minowa in the solitude of a tiny cabin on wheels and named for the nearby creek in the middle of the Wisconsin woods. The band plays some of these new songs, in-studio. - Caryn Havlik Set list: 1. The Universe Woke Up As You 2. One Human Being 3. Different Kind Of Day

There were a projected six episodes for the illustrious third season of the podcast, however, due to 'dat rona, only five of those episodes were recorded prior to 'social distancing' and 'self-quarantining,' and overall, the production and release of those five episodes was rushed and moved up. With that being said, for the first episode of season three, I welcome my co-worker Molly to the program. She and I have only worked together for like five or six months, but almost immediately after meeting her, I knew she'd be a great guest on the podcast; and I was right. We had some laughs, and we got really real, as Molly played a mix of tunes dating back through her high school years in Wisconsin, her early 20s in the Pacific Northwest, and her return to the midwest.  For more information about the AWARD WINNING music blog Anhedonic Headphones, click here! For anyone paying attention, urban ministry is a hot topic in TSA.  Since the beginning of the movement, urban life has been the focus of the ministry. What does that mean today? How might that look tomorrow? Where is the territory headed?  Listen in with Kiri and Amanda as three people who love cities talk about some possible answers to those questions. Stay tuned for more episodes on this topic! This is only, "scratching the surface," but we "guarantee" it is real talk. As usual, theme song 'No Hell' courtesy Cloud Cult.

“No revolution can be won with negativity.” Craig Minowa is a composer and the lead singer of the indie rock band Cloud Cult (@CloudCult), and also the co-founder of Earthology Records. Cloud Cult has produced 11 albums in two decades, and in 2004, was named Artist of the Year at the Minnesota Music Awards. Earthology Records was the first record label in the U.S. to create 100% postconsumer recycled CD packaging. In 2002, Craig and his wife Connie unexpectedly lost their two-year old son Kaiden. This tragedy sent the couple into a long period of isolated grieving, where Craig wrote more than 100 songs to deal with the loss. He discusses the realities of this life event, music as a form of personal medicine, and the importance to talk about Kaiden and death in general.  Craig draws inspiration from “the big picture” issues of life and tries to develop music that recognizes the beauty in everyone and everything.  Craig and I recorded this interview at Papa Charlie’s in Lutsen, Minnesota, just hours before the band performed live in front of a sell out crowd on Feb. 11, 2017. Enjoy! Some topics mentioned and discussed: Technology progressing faster than spirituality A music industry drunk with ego Presence and mindfulness How our society lacks the necessary tools to handle and talk about death His frequent wandering into the woods Understanding the purpose of life CRAIG'S FAVORITES RELATED TO THE TWIN CITIES: Favorite Restaurants Birchwood Cafe, Sea Salt Eatery and Thai Basil Favorite Public Space Along the Mississippi River near the University of Minnesota Favorite Annual Event: Northern Spark Most Fascinating Person You Know Dan Greenwood (former Cloud Cult drummer) State of the Union Message “We've really got to focus on the unity, love and neighborliness.”  He also referenced Obama's final speech as President

This week we speak with Dr. Catherine Keller. Catherine is Professor of Constructive Theology at the Theological School of Drew University. In her teaching, lecturing and writing, she develops the relational potential of a theology of becoming. Her books reconfigure ancient symbols of divinity for the sake of planetary conviviality – a life together, across vast webs of difference. Thriving in the interplay of ecological and gender politics, of process cosmology, poststructuralist philosophy and religious pluralism, her work is both deconstructive and constructive in strategy. Keller has taught since 1986 in the Theological and Philosophical Studies Area of Drew’s Graduate Division of Religion. After studies in Heidelberg and in seminary, she did her doctoral work at Claremont Graduate University with John B. Cobb, Jr., and remains involved with the Center for Process Studies. Through her leadership of the Drew Transdisciplinary Theological Colloquium since its inception in 2000, she fosters with colleagues and graduate students a hospitable context for its far reaching annual conversations. The TTC has yielded a path-breaking series of co-edited volumes. She also enjoys the monthly conviviality of gatherings in which Ph.D. students discuss their work in progress. Catherine Keller's Published Works: From a Broken Web: Separation, Sexism, and Self, Apocalypse Now and Then: A Feminist Guide to the End of the World, Face of the Deep: A Theology of Becoming, God and Power: Counter-Apocalyptic Journeys, On the Mystery: Discerning God in Process, and Cloud of the Impossible: Theology and Planetary Entanglement. Además algún que otro desvarío y reflexiones frívolas como marca de la casa. Ah, y una entrevista al conductor del programa por parte de una espontánea que pasaba por aquí.
