Braden Smith healthy means the Colts starting offensive line should be intact for Sunday's game - which significantly enhances the Colts chance to beat the Raiders. Michael Pittman healthy is also a very big deal for an offense too easy to defend without him. ESPN reported Jags have a 42.7% chance to win the AFC South, while the Colts and Texans have a 13.3% and 10.7% chance to win the division. Problem is those numbers total 66.7% - which I guess means there is a 33.3% chance the title will go unclaimed. Dwight Freeney is a Pro Football Hall of Fame finalist again. Leaders come in all different shapes and sizes. Listen to my conversation with Larry Freeney Jr., a licensed counselor from Rejoice Counseling Apostalate, on being an intentional and purpose driven leader within our marriage, in our home, and in our community. www.rejoicecounseling.com “Do not conform yourselves to this age but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and pleasing and perfect. -Romans 12:2
If you missed our latest artist talk, you can listen back here.Ita Freeney's artist talk on Saturday March 4th featured a conversation between Ita and fellow artist Katherine Boucher Beug. The discussion focused on the process behind Ita's current series of paintings - from her choice of subject, to her focus on form, light, mood, and structure, and the making of the paintings.Water's Edge @STACFebruary 17th - March 18th 2023Ita Freeney's Water's Edge exhibition consists of a series of new paintings created over the last three years. The sea is glimpsed at in all of these works but they are not seascapes per se.Their focus is on the shape of headlands, piers, slipways, strips of water, roofs - areas forming a boundary with the water or breaking the block of water or sky. The solidity of land and the surrounding infrastructure is contrasted with and used to emphasise the airiness and openness of sea and sky. This series gravitates towards horizontals, distance, direction, echoes, gaps, openings, and connections/separations.These paintings play with abstraction and representation - finding and emphasising abstract forms in reality, while also observing nuances of colour, tone and form to evoke mood and atmosphere. Familiarity and building relationships with the places that inspire, has become a very important element in the work. Many return visits to inspirations in North Mayo, and East Cork into Waterford, result in getting absorbed in the places, observing them from different vantage points and in different lights.See more of Water's Edge, take the virtual tour, or listen back to our podcast with Ita here:https://www.southtippartscentre.ie/events/ita-freeney-waters-edge
Artist Ita Freeney's 'Water's Edge' was officially opened here at STAC on 16th February by Catherine Marshall. It presents a body of ethereally beautiful paintings produced over the last three years. The sea is glimpsed at in all of these works but they are not seascapes per se. They play with abstraction and representation - finding and emphasising abstract forms in reality, while also observing nuances of colour, tone and form to evoke mood and atmosphere. It was a pleasure to sit down with Ita for a chat about her inspirations and her practice here at STAC on the morning after the opening reception.Water's Edge runs until March 18th - gallery open 10am to 5pm, Tuesday to Saturday.https://www.southtippartscentre.ie/events/ita-freeneyDublin born, Ita Freeney graduated from Crawford College of Art and Design with a BA Hons degree in Fine Art (1994). Have you ever been told you have dense breasts by a clinician after a mammogram? Whether you have or not, our topic on this episode of the DiepCJourney podcast is focused on dense breasts. My guest is a patient advocate who carries this message to many after her own diagnosis. Siobhán Freeney shares the story of her diagnosis and why her tag line, “Your Breast Density Matters” has become a call to action for patients and clinicians alike. Patient advocacy is often born out of a diagnosis. What one experiences upon hearing you have breast cancer, often becomes a catalyst for change. Siobhán is beating the drum for dense breast awareness. Her call to action is early detection, regular self-breast exams, and being aware that dense breasts can potentially interfere with breast screening and what can be seen on mammograms. She discusses the various levels of breast density. Do check out her request form on her website, “Ask About Your Density.” Siobhán and I dedicate this podcast to one of our own, Leigh Pate, who we lost in June of 2022 to cancer. Yes, Siobhán , we are standing on the shoulders of giants. Before her passing, I recorded an interview with her on the Lobular Breast Cancer you can listen to here: Lobular Breast Cancer.
On this installment of the Colts Reunion Podcast, Jeffrey Gorman and Bill Brooks visit with former Colts great Dwight Freeney. Joining me on the show today to answer those questions are Dr. Matthew Breuninger, Assistant Professor of Psychology and Director of Teaching Excellence at Franciscan University of Steubenville, and Mr. Larry Freeney, Lead Parish Counselor and Associate Director of Education and Assessments at Rejoice Counseling Apostolate in Houston, TX. After a 24-7 victory over the New York Giants, the Seattle Seahawks return home to Seattle for a two-game home stand. What the defense has shown in the last two road games is exactly what many fans expected from this team. Brandan and Adam talk about some of the top performances on defense and look at what happened on offense that led to a 7-3 halftime deficit. But the offense rallied in the second half, led by a three sexy deep balls thrown by Russell Wilson. Doug Baldwin hauled in one for a touchdown, which put him into the top three scoring receivers in team history. Yet, he'll probably be remembered more for pushing Coach Cable in this game instead of his big catches. The guys offer their perspective and why Coach Carroll is taking the blame. Dwight Freeney, a future Hall of Fame pass rusher was signed by the Seahawks this week. A shocker to nobody, Adam thinks the money could have been used elsewhere. Brandan talks about how he expects Freeney to be used situationally and how he can still make a difference. The Houston Texans are coming into Seattle with a quarterback who is on pace to have one of the top rookie seasons in NFL history. Brandan appears to jinx the Seahawks by mentioning a huge winning streak by Russell Wilson, but fortunately he also jinxes the Texans by mentioning a streak their coach has going for the team. Considering how the Texans have operated through the first few weeks, Brandan thinks there's one player on defense who is clearly set to have a big day. In the final segment of the show, the guys talk about their trip to New York and some of the members of the flock they came across while on the road. Do better nods go out to Arizona Cardinals fans and a guy in Adam's current town who ended up in the slammer. Better at life honors go to a Chicago Bears player who celebrated an anniversary with a new NFL record and to a pair of boxers who had an unusual pre-fight encounter.
