Check out today's questions:      Anonymous: Hello Dr. Cabral, Thank you so much for the invaluable insights you provide — I truly appreciate it! I have two unrelated questions: 1. Do you have any thoughts or ideas on the potential causes of snoring? My husband isn't overweight, so I'm thinking it may be related to positional factors or anatomy. He doesn't experience apnea, but the snoring does disrupt his sleep. 2. I have a product from a functional medicine supplement company containing 350mg of linolenic acid and 1400mg of linoleic acid, both derived from high-quality, cold-pressed oils. If someone has an imbalanced omega-3:omega-6 ratio, with a higher omega-6 …it seems like this product would not help balance the ratio on its own and additional omega-3 supplementation be necessary, is that correct? Thanks again for your time                     Sharon: Hello. I have been listening to various topics on your podcasts. I was curious about the citricidal drops. You have mentioned you can use two drops with a neti pot and use that for a nasal rinse. How often is it ok to do this? I also see it used as a urinary tract protocol and as part of the CBO protocol. But then in one podcast, you said you shouldn't use the drops longer than 3 weeks. I'm not sure how long you use it for the urinary tract protocol (didn't see that on website), but can you use it for that and the CBO if you do those protocols back to back? How long should you wait between uses of the drops? Is urinary tract protocol only for a UTI or is it also a general urinary health protocol? Thank you. (I asked about neti pot on FB but seems like no one has used it for nasal rinsing.)                                                                                                Terri: I have read a couple of studies about Berberine being contraindicated for those with Hashimoto's/hypothyroidism because it can interfere with absorption of thyroid hormone. There seem to be so many other benefits that I thought I'd come to you, the expert, the king and master of all things health, to answer my question…would you discourage someone with subclinical hypothyroidism and not taking any thyroid hormone from taking Berberine? Thank you for taking my question and for being so willing to help out the community with your wealth of knowledge. You truly are a blessing to so many!                                                                                                                                                                                                 Brooke: I've been doing coffee enemas for 2+ years now, once as often as 2-3 times and week and now 1-2 times a month. I used to have a much easier time holding the coffee, easily holding 10-15 minutes. I usually do two back to back rounds 10-15 minutes each (1-2cups each time). Lately I can't hold more than a few minutes, especially the first round. Also, I find that the day after a coffee enema I struggle to have a natural bowel movement. I'd say about 50% of the time I dont have a bowel movement the next day, is that okay?                                                                                                                 Bryna: Hi Dr. Cabral. Zara Godfrey, the founder of Pukpip, thinks so and explains it all to Ollie Lloyd in this latest episode, as his new puppy (Enola) occasionally makes a racket in the background! Pukpip launched in 2023 to shake up the ice cream industry by integrating more fruit into consumers' diets in fun and innovative ways. At the core of Pukpip's offering are chocolate-dipped frozen bananas, a nostalgic nod to Zara's childhood favourites prepared by her mother. Zara and her team are breaking ground by creating a new category—indulgent frozen fruit—within the UK's snack market, something tha is alreadey developed in the US. Despite formidable competition from giants like Mars, Zara's Pukpip stands out by promoting health-conscious alternatives and reducing food waste through its unique up-cycling approach. The company turns 'wonky' fruit into a delightful snacking experience by sourcing bananas in Ecuador, absurdly rejected by standard export processes. The brand caters to a health-focused, younger audience seeking permissible indulgence that combines taste and wellness. The brand is an excellent example of how there are solutions that can be delicious and healthy. However, one challenge for Pukpip is educating consumers about this new category, which might be getting easier now that new competitors have arrived. Edited by Stella Gent

Glen Providence wears many hats as the leader of a nonprofit, the publisher of a small newspaper and the owner of his own ice cream company. In his day job, Providence is the head of Hebni Nutrition — an organization that offers help to underserved communities, giving them access to and education about nutritious meals. In his entrepreneurial endeavors, Providence is spreading joy with Smile Ice Cream Company. “It was a passion project,” he said. “I wanted to do something food related and ice cream popped into my head.” Providence had made some ice cream as a kid and he wanted to recapture some of that nostalgia. “There was a magic moment when you're with your kids, you're with your family, you're out and you say, ‘You know what, let's go get some ice cream,'” he said. “And in that moment, when you get there, it's a feel-good moment.” Providence “went to ice cream school' to hone his craft, but the equipment he needed to produce ice cream on a commercial level was a little out of his price range. “God is good. About a month later — when you graduate from the course you get enrolled into an ice cream Facebook group, and someone was selling one of these machines — again, brand new $15,000 — he was selling for $6,000,” he said. Providence then took a road trip to South Carolina to pick up the machine. “I left at two o'clock in the morning — didn't tell a soul because people (would say) ‘You're crazy,'” he said. “Drove up, picked up that machine, was back in Orlando at 6 p.m. that evening and that was the beginning of the ice cream journey.” Providence then spent 2019 perfecting his flavors. Through the pandemic, he would provide catering orders with Smile, offering single-serving containers for events. “I was doing great. I really was not looking for a location. I wasn't actively looking but I knew when the right opportunity presented itself I would know,” he said. “I was doing all these ice cream catering and people always ask me, ‘Where can I buy this?' I didn't have an answer.” Eventually, the opportunity presented itself. A friend working in real estate had an opening at a shopping center near the intersection of Fairbanks Avenue and Edgewater Drive in Orlando. “I went back and it was like, ‘This is it. I can make you go at it,'” he said. Smile Ice Cream Company opened its brick-and-mortar location on May 3. “Everything is made right in-house. It's not being trucked in from a factory, you know, and it's great. I love the connection to the community,” he said. Thomas, who co-owns the popular gelato company along with Kolande Oronti and Drew Posey, is opening Cloud Cups where Little Baby's Ice Cream was previously located. Everything on the menu is inspired by foods that Matthew loves, which he incorporated from various places he lived like Boston and New York. Stefin's thankful we are devoting another whole month to frozen desserts, as she dragged her ice cream maker to London, considering it an essential kitchen tool. Starting out the month, our first bake along is a homemade Dole Whip. Disney Dole Whip lovers, rejoice! Summer also means easy living, and Andrea is celebrating one bowl baking. Stefin recalls many one bowl recipes featured on Preheated in the first two years: The Pumpkin Bundt Cake from Episode 2, The Lemon Drizzle Cake from Episode 45, the Gingerbread Bars from Episode 57, and the moist Chocolate Bundt Cake from Episode 61.5.
