Continue your conflict resolution journey in the second installment of Revitalize and Replant's two-part series. Mark Clifton and Mark Hallock complete Ron Edmondson's seven proven strategies for handling church disputes. Learn how to investigate conflict thoroughly, approach difficult conversations strategically, stay focused on solutions, and practice biblical forgiveness to restore relationships and church health. 5 More Conflict Resolution Strategies 3. Understand the Conflict Discern the real source from the other person's perspective. Don't assume—ask clarifying questions and put yourself in their shoes. Define what's actually at stake before intervening. 4. Find the Right Time and Place Never address conflict when emotions are high, in public spaces (hallways, restaurants, cafes), or without prayer. Wait for the temperature to cool. Choose a private setting days later. Your body language and tone matter as much as your words. 5. Stick to the Issue at Hand Deal with one issue only. Don't unload multiple grievances. When conflicts pile up, sides form, and clarity disappears. Know your limits—refer complex situations, such as marital counseling, to trained professionals. 6. Work Toward a Solution Shift from blame to resolution. Communicate truth with love. Recognize you won't agree on everything—some conflicts don't require consensus to maintain unity in Christ. Your emotional intelligence and calm demeanor lower the temperature. 7. Grant Forgiveness Unforgiveness creates bitterness and robs joy. Forgive as Christ has forgiven you. This frees you personally and opens the door to reconciliation. Without forgiveness, pastors become embittered and ineffective. Gain eternal perspective—this conflict is temporary; unity in eternity is permanent. Discover practical strategies for handling conflict within your church community. In this first segment of a two-part series, hosts Mark Clifton and Mark Hallock explore the first two of seven evidence-based approaches to resolving disagreements and strengthening relationships among church members. Learn how reframing your perspective and honest self-examination can transform conflict into a powerful platform for gospel impact. Two Key Conflict Resolution Strategies View Conflict Differently — Stop avoiding disagreement. Instead, see conflict as an opportunity to display the gospel's power to your congregation and community. The early church's resolution of the Greek-Jewish widow conflict in Acts 6 served as a platform that attracted priests and ultimately sparked the missionary movement. Examine Yourself — Before blaming others, honestly assess your own role in the conflict. Practice humility by looking at "the plank in your own eye first," and be willing to ask: "How have I contributed to this? What part am I playing?" This disarms critics and earns respect. Should you stop caring what other people think? I don't think so. I've spent parts of my life caring far too much about other people's opinions—and parts of my life not caring at all. Both caused serious problems. In this video, I share a simple framework I use to decide which criticism deserves my attention and which criticism deserves to be ignored. It has helped me navigate feedback, self-worth, personal growth, and the endless stream of opinions people have about who I should be. Not all criticism is valuable. But not all criticism should be dismissed either. The challenge is knowing the difference. If my podcast has helped, my new book, The Light Between the Leaves, goes even deeperNext Steps:
What are we really trying to escape from?In this episode of Girls Gone Gritty, Farley and Jennifer talk about escapism, from movie nights and travel dreams to social media, remote work, influencer culture, gaming, AI, and the quiet pull to disappear from everyday pressure. They explore why people are craving a different kind of life, especially in a world where everyone else's highlight reel can make your own routine feel small or stuck. The conversation also looks at the difference between healthy escape, like reading, exercising, watching a movie, or spending time with loved ones, and unhealthy escape that becomes avoidance, financial risk, or disconnection. Listeners will walk away with a simple reminder: escaping is not always bad, but it matters what you are escaping from and whether it brings you back stronger or leaves you further away from real life. This week, Juli, Hannah, and Joe answer one of the hardest questions many of us face: What do I do if my spouse is looking at porn? This conversation is honest, compassionate, and full of hope. We talk through the pain, shame, confusion, and secrecy that pornography often brings into a marriage—and why healing is still possible for both the person struggling and the spouse who feels hurt and betrayed. You'll hear practical wisdom on how to find the support you need, why you can't be your spouse's accountability partner, and how true intimacy is about so much more than just changing a behavior. Whether this struggle has touched your marriage personally or that of someone you love, it's one you'll definitely want to share. Co-hosts: Hannah Nitz & Joe Caruso It's book launch week!

Modern dating can feel exhausting when every conversation seems to push people toward extremes. Men against women. Feminine versus masculine. Traditional versus modern. In this episode, we slow that all the way down and explore what it actually looks like to create a healthier third way forward. We talk about moving beyond reactive narratives, honoring both masculine and feminine experiences without villainizing either, and why emotional maturity is often the real bridge between division and genuine connection. We talk about:- Why living in dating extremes often keeps people stuck in pain instead of moving them toward healthy love- What it means to hold multiple perspectives without abandoning your own truth- How nervous system work, emotional maturity, and self-awareness create safer relationships- The difference between fighting against what you do not want versus intentionally building what you do want- Why healthy modern relationships require more nuance, courage, and critical thinking than outdated binariesWant to work with Bri and/or Courtney?Connect with Bri on Instagram:@buildingbricoachingConnect with Courtney on Instagram:@courtney_schandFollow the show on Instagram:@thefortheloveofmenpodcastCheck out our website: www.fortheloveofmenpodcast.comLooking for deeper support?Check out our Masterclasses:1️⃣ What Your Woman Wants Emotionally And How to Provide It: Unlock the secrets to fulfilling your partner emotionally! In this video Robert explains how once you become aware of your anger, you can then find ways to care for yourself to help alleviate this uncomfortable feeling. Your internal voice may say, "Anger, I see you, I feel you, and it's okay you are here." When you feel angry it is important not to reject yourself but to accept the anger and find a way to have it serve you in your life. Behind your anger emotion is an unfulfilled need. When in an angry state, can you take a pause and ask yourself, what need do I have that is not being met? How can I use this anger to discover my need or needs and use it to catapult positive change in my life?

You want to be honest with your child… but when emotions run high, it can be hard to know where the line is between healthy emotional expression and unintentionally putting a burden on your young child, teen, or young-adult kid.If you've ever felt terrified, overwhelmed, or lost in the fear of “what if,” and weren't sure whether to show your child how scared you really are…If you've ever wondered why expressing your emotions towards your child sometimes leads to more distance instead of more connection…Or if you've ever felt the urge to show your child just how upset, hurt, or worried you are, especially when their behavior frightens you, but aren't sure whether that helps or harms…You are not alone, and this episode will bring clarity to something many parents quietly wrestle with.Today, I'm joined by therapist Dana VanRenterghem to talk honestly about how to express emotions to your child in a healthy, appropriate way. We explore why kids should never be responsible for managing a parent's emotional world, how even well-intentioned honesty can become emotional dumping, and how easy it is to cross the line without realizing it.We get into the nuance: your emotions are real and valid… but they're still your emotions. So how do you pause, regulate, and come back to your child from a grounded place instead of fear? We also talk about the caregiver–seeker roles in attachment, how role reversals happen, why they're so confusing, and how to repair if you've shared too much in the past.In this episode on how to express emotions to your child, we discuss:Why sharing “big feelings” with your child can accidentally create shameThe difference between emotional honesty and emotional burdenWhat to say when you're scared, angry, or overwhelmedHow to pause and regulate before returning to your childThe caregiver vs. seeker roles (and what happens when they get reversed)How to repair with your child when you've said too much or reacted too fastWhy your child is not responsible for your feelingsWhat emotional expression looks like in healthy parent–child communicationWhere parents should take their big feelings (hint: not to your child)Looking for support?
