A Fundação Cartier para a Arte Contemporânea abriu suas portas em um novo endereço em Paris, dessa vez em frente ao Louvre, com projeto do renomado arquiteto Jean Nouvel. A mostra inaugural, intitulada “Exposição Geral”, reúne cerca de cem artistas e celebra 40 anos de programação, conectando diversidade, história e cidade. O espaço transparente, com plataformas ajustáveis, cria uma experiência inédita, onde arquitetura e arte dialogam com o dinamismo cultural e artístico da capital francesa. A Fundação Cartier para a Arte Contemporânea abriu em outubro de 2025 um novo capítulo de sua história na capital francesa, dessa vez em frente ao Louvre, em um edifício reinventado pelo arquiteto Jean Nouvel. A mostra inaugural percorre quatro décadas de criação contemporânea a partir do acervo da instituição. Concebida como um diálogo entre arquitetura, cidade e memória artística, a mostra revisita o papel da Fundação na trajetória de inúmeros criadores, entre eles o francês Jean-Michel Othoniel, para quem a exposição representa “um pouco da própria juventude” e o início de um vínculo decisivo com o mundo da arte. “Essa exposição é muito emocionante para mim. Ela representa um pouco da minha juventude, da minha formação, é quem eu sou", relatou à RFI. "Tive a sorte de iniciar um diálogo com a fundação em 1988, com Marie-Claude Beaud, que me ofereceu minha primeira residência artística. Depois disso, a instituição continuou me acompanhando, adquiriu obras de diferentes períodos do meu trabalho, inclusive da época em que participei da Documenta. Em 2004, realizamos uma grande exposição, minha primeira individual em Paris, que me tornou conhecido pelo público dos museus parisienses.” O espaço projetado por Jean Nouvel aposta na transparência e na circulação livre. Cinco plataformas ajustáveis permitem acomodar obras monumentais ou intimistas, enquanto volumes tridimensionais e pontos de vista de 360 graus oferecem uma experiência inédita de observação e circulação. “Jean Nouvel desconstruiu a linearidade da história da arte”, explica Béatrice Grenier, diretora de programação da instituição. “Isso nos permite trabalhar com artistas e propor uma nova narrativa da história da arte, conectando o interior da Fundação à cidade e ao patrimônio histórico que nos rodeia.” Entre os artistas presentes estão nomes internacionais como Olga de Amaral (Colômbia), Sally Gabori (Austrália), Chéri Samba (República Democrática do Congo), Damien Hirst (Reino Unido) e Joan Mitchell (Estados Unidos).  “O objetivo era traçar um retrato da Fundação Cartier para a Arte Contemporânea em seu novo endereço, nas duas praças do Palais-Royal, em pleno coração de Paris, em frente ao Louvre e também diante de uma das mais antigas praças públicas da cidade, a Praça do Palais-Royal", destaca Garnier, que é co-curadora da exposição inaugural da nova Fundação Cartier. "A questão era justamente esta: como fazer isso? Como apresentar, ao mesmo tempo, as linhas estruturantes de uma coleção construída ao longo da programação da Fundação nos últimos 40 anos e, ao mesmo tempo, sugerir os temas que a Fundação Cartier pretende continuar defendendo no futuro de sua programação?”, sinalizou à RFI. Desconstruir a linearidade da história da arte Grenier detalha a opção estética no design do novo espaço. “O arquiteto Jean Nouvel refletiu profundamente sobre essa questão. Ele é o autor do Instituto do Mundo Árabe, [do antigo prédio] da Fundação Cartier no boulevard Raspail, inaugurado em 1994, e também concebeu o Museu do Quai Branly, além do Louvre de Abu Dhabi. Este último se insere, de certa forma, em um percurso de reflexão sobre a evolução da museografia", afirmou. "O percurso da mostra é fundamental porque Nouvel propôs um plano circular, no qual diferentes objetos, de distintas civilizações, são organizados em uma mesma linha do tempo. O que ele faz com esse edifício é justamente desconstruir a linearidade da história da arte", sublinhou Grenier. "Esse princípio aparece claramente no novo prédio da Fundação Cartier. Em vez de um espaço bidimensional, organizado por uma sucessão linear de paredes expositivas, temos volumes. Isso permite conceber exposições em espaços que oferecem pontos de vista de 360 graus sobre as obras e sobre a própria exposição.” A mudança para um endereço central permite à Fundação Cartier aproveitar o fluxo de visitantes do Louvre e se integrar a um eixo cultural estratégico da cidade, que inclui também a Comédie-Française, o Museu de Artes Decorativas e a Bourse de Commerce, onde fica a coleção privada de François Pinault. A Fundação possui hoje cerca de 4.500 obras, e a exposição rotativa apresenta aproximadamente 600 trabalhos. A "Exposição Geral" fica em cartaz na nova sede da Fundação Cartier até 23 de agosto de 2026. 

Designer et architecte britannique, Duncan Lewis (Wallsend, 1959) débute sa carrière au Japon en 1984. Il s'installe en France en 1987 et collabore successivement avec Jacques Hondelatte, Lacaton Vassal, Edouard François de 1994 à 1997, puis crée l'agence Lewis-Potin-Lewis avant de fonder Duncan Lewis Scape Architecture à Bordeaux en en 2005 avec Brigitte Cany-Lewis. Il s'appuie sur la notion de contexte et de territoire, puisant à la source des écosystèmes. Le projet de Pont autoroutier (1993), l'Extension du groupe scolaire Buffon (1995) ou les Gîtes ruraux de Jupilles (1996) conçus avec Édouard François (1994-1999) s'inscrivent en osmose avec le paysage. De la même manière, le Lycée Jean Moulin avec Manal Rachdi, Tanguy Vermet (OFF architecture) et De Giacinto (Revin, 2012) épouse le dénivelé des collines. La Bibliothèque Universitaire Florence Delay (Bayonne, 2008), située au cœur de la ville historique, s'incruste dans les fortifications érigées par Vauban. Duncan Lewis est aussi auteur de plusieurs réalisations emblématiques (Résidence Ama Lurra, Bayonne, 2010 ; Station de tramway Hérouville Saint-Clair, Caen, 2002 ; Jardins des Géants, Lille, 2008). Aujourd'hui, il travaille en groupement avec H Hans Lefevre. Vanessa, comme chaque dimanche, vous nous avez concocté un city break …ce matin, direction Paris. Oui, une belle idée pour les vacances d'automne. Ça tombe bien : la semaine de l'Art tombe la 1ère semaine du 20 au 26 octobre. Sans oublier que la saison culturelle a déjà commencé, je vous donne donc mes indispensables : la rétrospective Georges de la tour au Musée Jacquemart André, Soulages et ses peintures sur papiers au Musée du Luxembourg, Amazonia au quai Branly. Et puis pour les familles, le musée de l'Homme fête ses 10 ans en ouvrant notamment un nouvel espace ludique et interactif dans la vie des familles préhistoriques : on construit un abri de Néandertalien, on grimpe dans un arbre comme Lucy, l'australopithèque… Et pour cette fameuse semaine de l'Art, qu'est-ce qu'il ne faut pas manquer ? Deux événements très attendus : l'ouverture de la Fondation Cartier pour l'art contemporain, Place du Palais royal dans les anciens grands magasins du Louvre. Un édifice haussmannien, qui avait été construit en 1855 pour la 1ère Exposition Universelle : le Grand Hôtel du Louvre. Aujourd'hui, il est totalement ouvert avec de grandes baies vitrées. L'architecte n'est autre que Jean Nouvel ! Le lancement se fera avec une "Exposition générale" qui va retracer 40 ans de programmation avec 600 œuvres, réunies autour de thématiques ou d'artistes phares que la fondation accompagne depuis des décennies, comme Patti Smith (qui n'est pas que chanteuse mais aussi photographe et peintre). Pour information, le week-end d'ouverture 25/26 sera gratuit ! Enfin, le deuxième rendez-vous : Art basel Paris, la foire internationale d'art contemporain au Grand palais dès le 24. Mais ce que j'aime, c'est que des expositions et des événements gratuits vont investir certains lieux emblématiques de la capitale : la place Vendôme, l'hôtel de la marine, et l'avenue Winston Churchill. Qui sera entièrement piétonne pour déambuler le long de 7 créations monumentales. Une idée d'hôtel artistique ? Hôtel des Académies et des Arts, entre Montparnasse et les jardins du Luxembourg. Vous êtes dans l'ancienne maison de Modigliani et Fujita. Un hôtel de 20 chambres, avec cerise sur le gâteau un studio d'artistes ouvert à tous. Le plat devient populaire au 19e siècle, c'est probablement un plat paysan qui permettait de valoriser les pommes de terre et la crème Attention, pas de fromage, sinon c'est un gratin savoyard. Le secret ? La variété de pomme de terre (chair ferme – charlotte) et la cuisson lente, confite. La recette : - 1,2 kg de pommes de terre - ½ litre de lait entier - ½ litre de crème liquide - 1 gousse d'ail - 1 morceau de beurre - Sel / poivre Éplucher et laver les pommes de terre / les couper en tranches de 3 mm d'épaisseur (conserver l'amidon) / Faire bouillir le lait et la crème, ajouter sel et poivre / Frotter un plat à gratin avec la gousse d'ail et un morceau de beurre / disposer les rondelles de pommes de terre et verser le mélange lait-crème / Cuire à 160° durant 1 heure / laisser reposer dans un four tiède 30 min. Through her “archaeology of the future” design approach, the Lebanese-born, Paris-based architect Lina Ghotmeh has firmly established herself as a humanist who brings a profound awareness of past, present, and presence to all that she does. In the two decades since winning her breakthrough commission—the Estonian National Museum in Tartu—her practice has taken off, with Ghotmeh swiftly becoming one today's fastest-rising architectural stars. Just a week after we recorded this episode of Time Sensitive, she was named the winner of a competition to design the British Museum's Western Range and, shortly after that, she was announced as the architect of the new Qatar Pavilion in the historic Giardini of Venice; she is also the designer of the Bahrain Pavilion at the just-opened 2025 Osaka Expo. Originaire du massif central, David-Olivier Descombes a des souvenirs de nature qui remontent à l'enfance, cheminant seul au coeur des paysages sauvages et pour nourrir son besoin de liberté, précoce. Il n'est pas bon élève en milieu scolaire reconnait-il. En revanche, ses études supérieures où il agrège l'architecture d'intérieure, l'architecture et les emplois, le révèle. Il passe rapidement par les agences de renoms de Jean Nouvel à Barcelone, Jacob Mc Farlane et Edouard François à Paris. En 2013, il décroche son premier projet de restaurant, crée son agence. In some families, the parents' DNA instructs so clearly the way their children think and work that it's impossible to deny the familial impact. Jason Bruges is the product of just this. His dad was a software and computer engineer, and his mother a trained artist. Both influenced where and how he came to be a multidisciplinary artist and designer. His eponymous Jason Bruges Studio is internationally renowned for creating interactive spaces and surfaces that sit between the world of architecture, site specific installation art and interaction design. Considered a pioneer of this hybrid in-between space, Jason has subsequently paved the way for a new genre of design studios, artists and designer-makers. After graduating from Oxford Brookes University in London, Jason borrowed £1,000 from his dad for an airline ticket and flew to Hong Kong to meet his grandfather at the airport. He'd only met him a handful of times before. Within weeks he had a job offer from the famed architect Norman Foster. This later led to his role at the groundbreaking brand experience agency, Imagination back in London, where his work on the Millenium Dome was considered an early example of interaction design. It was soon after, in 2002, that Jason created his own studio. Après avoir travaillé pour Rem Koolhaas ou encore Jean Nouvel, Anna reçoit en 2018 le prix Kasper Salin, la plus prestigieuse distinction décernée par l'Ordre des architectes suédois (2ème femme en 50 ans a avoir eu ce prix). Anna et ses 3 associés ont co-fondé le Collectif Encore. Installés dans le Béarn, dans une sublime ancienne teinturerie, au bord d'une rivière, au coeur de la nature avec les pyrénées comme fond d'écran ! Anna est l'une des architectes que j'admire le plus. Avec Encore, ils proposent une lecture renouvelée de l'architecture, plus humaine et plus écologique. Le soleil, la lune, les étoiles, les fleurs, les plantes, les oiseaux sont des éléments centraux de réflexion dans chacun de leurs projets. Designer et architecte britannique, Duncan Lewis (Wallsend, 1959) débute sa carrière au Japon en 1984. Il s'installe en France en 1987 et collabore successivement avec Jacques Hondelatte, Lacaton Vassal, Edouard François de 1994 à 1997, puis crée l'agence Lewis-Potin-Lewis avant de fonder Duncan Lewis Scape Architecture à Bordeaux en en 2005 avec Brigitte Cany-Lewis. Il s'appuie sur la notion de contexte et de territoire, puisant à la source des écosystèmes. Le projet de Pont autoroutier (1993), l'Extension du groupe scolaire Buffon (1995) ou les Gîtes ruraux de Jupilles (1996) conçus avec Édouard François (1994-1999) s'inscrivent en osmose avec le paysage. De la même manière, le Lycée Jean Moulin avec Manal Rachdi, Tanguy Vermet (OFF architecture) et De Giacinto (Revin, 2012) épouse le dénivelé des collines. La Bibliothèque Universitaire Florence Delay (Bayonne, 2008), située au cœur de la ville historique, s'incruste dans les fortifications érigées par Vauban. Le premier numéro de cette série portait sur l'enseignement de l'architecture et la formation des architectes. En 2019, Jean Nouvel, 74 ans et Paul Chemetov, 90 ans représentent deux générations d'architectes. Ils partagent, et partageaient, un même rejet de l'enseignement académique des Beaux-Arts avec ses normes esthétiques figées. En 1994, ils dialoguaient dans "A Voix Nue". Le premier volet de cette série portait sur l'enseignement de l'architecture et la formation des architectes. Tous deux avouaient s'être réellement formés dans les ateliers de leur maîtres : André Lurçat pour Paul Chemetov, Claude Parent et Paul  Virilio pour Jean Nouvel. * Si de celle de 1968 à celle de 2018, des réformes ont profondément transformé l'enseignement de l'architecture, au début des années 90 Jean Nouvel disait encore que rien n'avait vraiment changé depuis sa jeunesse. Musée du Louvre d'Abu-Dhabi, Musée national de Doha, Musée d'art islamique... Les pays du Golfe se livrent une concurrence acharnée pour faire sortir de terre des musées ultrasophistiqués imaginées par les architectes les plus en vogue. Formidables écrins abritant d'extraordinaires collections, ces lieux ont entre autres vocations celle d'asseoir le prestige national et d'inscrire leur pays hôte dans la longue histoire mondiale de l'art. Cette politique culturelle est au cœur de la recherche de l'historienne de l'art Lorraine Engel-Larchez, doctorante en histoire de l'art contemporain à l'Université de Strasbourg/ Ecole du Louvre, et enseignante en histoire de l'art à l'Ecole supérieure de design, des arts appliqués et de communication de Rennes. We sit down /slantis' two incredibly passionate female founders, Andy Robert and Mercedes Carriquiry, to talk about their backgrounds in architecture, what drives them as entrepreneurs, and why Uruguay is not an unusual place to build out a technology-forward company.  Guests: Andy Robert is a professional architect from ORT University in Uruguay. She lived in Germany and studied architecture in Dessau, where the former Bauhaus was located. Today she is CEO of /slantis, co-founded in 2016 with her life-long friend Mercedes Carriquiry. Very energetic, curious, and entrepreneurial, she is actively involved in events that advocate for women as leaders. She became an expert in management, marketing, and sales. Andy is also vegan and Beltran and Jaime's mum. Mercedes Carriquiry is a licensed Architect and entrepreneur specializing in innovation and technology. She holds a degree from the Faculty of Architecture UDELAR, Uruguay; and studied in the ENSAG of Grenoble, France. She also graduated in digital fabrication from MIT Fabacademy. After working at Jean Nouvel's studio in Paris and leading multiple developments in Montevideo, she co-founded /slantis in 2016 with her life-long friend Andy. Outside the rat race, she's into art, skating, and above all spending time with her family.

Rencontre passionnante et magique avec l'architecte Anna Chavepayre ! Après avoir travaillé pour Rem Koolhaas ou encore Jean Nouvel, Anna reçoit en 2018 le prix Kasper Salin, la plus prestigieuse distinction décernée par l'Ordre des architectes suédois (2ème femme en 50 ans a avoir eu ce prix). Anna et ses 3 associés ont co-fondé le Collectif Encore. Installés dans le Béarn, dans une sublime ancienne teinturerie, au bord d'une rivière, au coeur de la nature avec les pyrénées comme fond d'écran ! Anna est l'une des architectes que j'admire le plus. Avec Encore, ils proposent une lecture renouvelée de l'architecture, plus humaine et plus écologique. Le soleil, la lune, les étoiles, les fleurs, les plantes, les oiseaux sont des éléments centraux de réflexion dans chacun de leurs projets. Dans cet épisode, on parle d'architecture vivante, d'architecture de bon sens, d'architecture qui relie.. Pour Anna, "un bâtiment intelligent est con" et le rôle d'un architecte est plus que jamais aujourd'hui de créer des logements avec des oiseaux aux fenêtres.. et non pas de créer la plus belle fenêtre ! Dans cette conversation, les idées reçues sont mises KO avec beaucoup d'intelligence et de bienveillance : -une architecture pour bien vivre n'est pas réservée aux budgets confortables -l'ancien a déjà plein davantages qui peuvent rapidement être remis en puissance en écoutant ce que ce bâtiment a à dire -c'est avant tout une façon de voir le monde et de vouloir l'habiter.
