Can tell that Michael is a very passionate and loving person and he still carries that passion with him wherever he goes. Just to sit and talk to him about his acting career is an absolute honor and pleasure – this guy has done it all. Another legendary actor dubbed as a ‘Chameleon' – being able to flawlessly deliver any role handed to him. Especially as “Super Freddy” – who we all know is an icon in the horror community and the A Nightmare on Elm Street Franchise. Overall, it was great speaking to him and getting to know him on a more personal level. I can tell that this guy is going places! Also, make sure to check out his wife's business, “Inseam Saver” which there is a quick promotional video at the end.
As a cinematographer, director and producer, Barry Sonnenfeld (Men in Black, The Addams Family, Get Shorty) has done a lot in the world of film and TV. Last month, he released his second memoir, “Best Possible Place, Worst Possible Time,” which is full of candid stories from his blockbuster career. Barry joins Tom Power to share some of those Hollywood stories, including the unique challenges of directing Michael Jackson on “Men In Black II” and the time he fired Donald Trump off of a Macy's commercial. Plus, he tells us why he became a Canadian permanent resident in 2016.

Editors Maria Gonzales and Aika Miyake The work of SHOGUN editors, Maria Gonzales and Aika Miyake played a crucial role in the success of this adaptation of James Clavell's novel, as Maria and Aika created a fast-paced story, shifting the conflicts away from battlefields and into political intrigues by highlighting interpersonal dynamics, intense dialogue scenes, and the crucial role of female characters. While editing, they were also often challenged with condensing the run times of episodes down from close to one hundred minutes to one hour each, while still fleshing out the complex tapestry and culture clashes of XVII century Japan and overcoming language barriers themselves. SHOGUN follows the collision of two ambitious men from different worlds; John Blackthorne, a risk-taking English sailor who ends up shipwrecked in Japan and in a country whose unfamiliar culture will ultimately redefine him, and Lord Toranaga, a shrewd and powerful daimyo at odds with his own dangerous political rivals. Entangled with the pair is Lady Mariko, a woman with invaluable skills but dishonorable family ties, who must prove her value and allegiance. MARIA GONZALES With over twenty years of experience in the industry, Maria's previous television work includes many award-winning shows, including The Old Man, See, and Counterpart, as well as fan-favorite shows, like The Walking Dead and its spin-off show, The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live. Outside of her episodic work, Maria served as an editor on two horror features: A24's fantasy horror The Monster and Blumhouse's horror thriller Mockingbird. She also previously worked as an assistant editor on the Academy Award-winning film The Bourne Ultimatum and Academy Award-nominated Up in the Air along with working on a long list of features beloved by audiences, including Jon Favreau's Chef and Barry Sonnenfeld's Men in Black II. Maria sees editing as the subtle hand that guides narratives into seamless coherence, and she continually seeks the delicate equilibrium between creativity and technical mastery while fostering a creative environment that uplifts those around her. Currently living in Los Angeles with her family, Maria was born in the United States but spent her formative years in modern-day Serbia before returning to LA to study at the USC School of Cinematic Arts, where she graduated with a BA in Cinema Studies. AIKA MIYAKE Aika's sixteen years of film/tv work spans across all styles and genres, covering short-form branded content, documentaries, narrative TV, and feature films. Her television work includes Netflix's Emmy-winning documentary mini-series Chef's Table: BBQ, and Beyonce's Emmy-winning and Grammy-nominated visual album Black Is King. Aika also worked on a diverse range of films, including the "nominated at SXSW Film Festival" short documentary film Coming Home, and Best Documentary Feature winner at the Philadelphia Asian American Film Festival, Hafu: The Mixed-Race Experience in Japan. She started her career working on commercials and music videos with clients such as Nike, Pampers, IKEA, and Spotify to name a few. Growing up in Japan, Aika enjoyed playing drums and making hundreds of mixtapes for her sisters, and after discovering her passion for photography, she opened her heart to the potential of filmmaking and how images paired with music could create emotional experiences. She currently lives in Los Angeles. Outside of her work in editing, Aika is passionate about food, travel, reggae music, and her two cats, Oreo and Millie. We're back - in black - to get things rolling for Ramblin in 2024. We're checking in with the MIB franchise, investigating the bad case of sequelitius that seems to have infected the Barry Sonnenfeld directed follow up to the 1997 sci-fi comedy classic. Both Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones return from Amblin past, and so does our guest -critic and broadcaster Rihanna Dillon. Together, we dig into the film's dragged out road to production, stressful shooting schedule and try to put our finger on just what is missing from this misfire of a sequel. But always remember, when there's an Amblin movie to discuss, the elite is here, so have no fear, just, let me see you, NOD YA HEAD. You can follow Rhianna on Twitter @RhiannaDhillon and you can listen to her on BBC Radio 6 Music and catch PodPod (@podpodofficiak) wherever you get your podcasts. Editor - Randy Trager, ACE NIMONA editor, Randy Trager, ACE makes a return trip to The Rough Cut to share the inside story of how his latest film went from dead on the cutting room floor to live and loud on Netflix. Beginning its development life under the banner of Blue Sky studios and its parent company 21st Century Fox, NIMONA and the rest of the Blue Sky team were moved under Disney during their acquisition of Fox. The film's rocky development road seemingly ended in April 2021 when Disney shuttered Blue Sky. With her relentless, never-say-die attitude, NIMONA found new life again with Annapurna Pictures and Netflix. NIMONA tells the tale of Ballister Boldheart (Riz Ahmed), a knight in a futuristic medieval world, who is framed for a crime he didn't commit. The only one who can help him prove his innocence? Nimona (Chloë Grace Moretz), a mischievous teen with a taste for mayhem - who also happens to be a shapeshifting creature Ballister has been trained to destroy. But with the entire kingdom out to get him, Nimona's the best (and technically the only) sidekick Ballister can hope for. And as the lines between heroes, villains, and monsters start to blur, the two of them set out to wreak serious havoc - for Ballister to clear his name once and for all, and for Nimona to...just wreak serious havoc. RANDY TRAGER, ACE Randy began his editorial journey as an assistant editor on features such as NURSE BETTY (2000), WHAT WOMEN WANT (2000) and MEN IN BLACK II (2002). It's another week of our MEN IN BLACK month as we move into the year that was 2002 and look at the blockbuster sequel that is Men in Black II to see if it holds up 20 years later and perhaps needs some more love! Was 2002 the biggest year ever for movies and how does this movie fit into that category? Are some of the actors phoning it in during this film or are they really not that bad? Why do the special effects look so dated? Which characters are way over used than they should be? Why is Colin still struggling to know what sex is? Do we want to go to the real Ben's pizza place? How epic is the Michael Jackson cameo? Does this movie just go way too fast? How many plot holes can we pick out? Why is the David Cross and Colombe Jacobsen stuff the best stuff in the movie? Why can't Ben & Colin agree on Rosario Dawson? Why are farts so funny? And why does this movie have the best Will Smith song out of all of them? It's a movie that you'll want to hear us talk about so get to it and don't be disappointed! ★ Support this podcast on Patreon ★
Kevin Isola is a self-described journeyman actor, who has experienced great longevity in several media, including theatre, television and film. The Pasadena native attended Duke University, and consequently studied acting at NYU-Tisch, where he discovered the value of being freed-up creatively through faculty who mentored and pushed his creative strengths. We discuss a major moment in his career, which came when he played Rev in the hit 1997 play, The New Bozena, alongside friends and Tisch classmates David Costabile (Lincoln; Billions; Breaking Bad; Low Winter Sun), Michael Dahlen (Blue Man Group; Men in Black II); and Rainn Wilson (The Office; Super; Juno), the latter serving as director. The experience was a trial by fire of navigating an original, creative property which flourished in New York to its sale to Twentieth Century Fox, and being immersed into the Hollywood system. In theatre, Kevin has appeared in WASP and Other Plays (Written by Steve Martin); Twelfth Night; Brooklyn Boy (on Broadway); Accidental Death of an Anarchist; Venus; and Everett Beekin (by Obie Award winner Evan Yionoulis). He was recently in Our Lady of 121st Street (Off-Broadway) and Life Sucks, a reimagined adaptation of the Anton Chekhov classic Uncle Vanya, in which he played Vanya. He has appeared in films such as How the Grinch Stole Christmas (Jim Carrey); Blumenthal (Brian Cox); and Academy Boyz (Ed Asner). His numerous television credits include Billions; Damages; Fringe; Boston Legal; Elementary; Bull; and Law & Order. He has returned to his alma mater, Tisch School of the Arts at NYU, where he previously earned an MFA, as Adjunct Professor in the Graduate Acting Department to teach courses on Shakespeare's Clowns and Advanced Clowning Techniques. In our talk, we discuss his unique journey into several of these creative experiences, including developing recurring character arcs on television; finding himself on the stage through genuine mentors; the evolution of clowning; the irreverant comedy of the web-series Mommy Blogger (Tricia Paoluccio); and working with Glenn Close, Damian Lewis and C.J. Tony Palmucci se unió a Baton Rouge en 1991 y lanzó el álbum Lights Out on The Playground.

A sequel seemed inevitable, but the wait was a little longer than expected. And when MIIB did arrive, its impact was only a fraction of its predecessor, and the legacy of the film seemed destined to be 'it's not as good as the first one.'Until today! When removed from the shadow of the original, what genuinely works in this mostly forgotten sequel? Do some jokes still land? Is the action still fun? Is Tony Shalhoub still a charismatically pathetic alien? All of these questions and more are explored in this week's discussion of Men In Black II. The DCEU has had its fair share of ups and downs over the past decade, and it all began with the divisive Man of Steel. While some felt that this portrayal of Superman was refreshing, others said it didn't feel like Superman at all. The only question we are answering today is: What did the movie get right? Packed with an all star cast and and stuffed with action scenes, there is a lot to dive into this week. Does any of the cast live up to (or surpass) the legacy set by previous performances? Are Henry Cavill's abs actually made of steel? And could General Zod's haircut be any dorkier?Join the Discord:https://discord.gg/U8sZ5A8DkgEmail:bestoftherestpod@gmail.comSocial Media @BotRCastTwitter, Instagram, FacebookBonus content: YoutubeTheme song (vocals) by Mark Benavides: InstagramMusic by Mitch (Depressed to Impress):Youtube, Twitch.tvArtwork by Phillip Chacon, C7Productions: InstagramNext week: Men In Black II

On this episode, The Barretta Brothers celebrate the TV show Dinosaurs and welcome the people behind the Unisaurus and Hand Puppet Characters. Episode Outline: 07:200mins: Conversation with Julianne Buescher, Michelan Sisti, John Kennedy, Rickey Boyd, and Jake Tate 33:30mins: Conversation with Julianne Buescher, Michelan Sisti, John Kennedy, Rickey Boyd, Jake Tate, Bruce Lanoli, Pons Maar, and Terri Hardin 35:50mins: Conversation with Allan Trautman, Terri Hardin, Bruce Lanoil, Tom Fisher, and Pons Maar. ABOUT OUR GUESTS: Allan Trautman Allan Trautman was born in Brooklyn, NY and moved to Miami Beach with his family at the beginning of 9th grade. He began acting in Miami Beach Senior High under the direction of famed drama teacher Jay Jensen. He spent four years in St. Louis at Washington University, earning a BA in Physics and Drama. He then earned an MFA in Acting from the California Institute of the Arts, where he met his wife, Diane. While in St. Louis, he began his puppetry career working on The Letter People at public TV station KETC. He performed in all 60 15-minute episodes, each one shot on a Friday (he skipped classes). Two years after graduating from CalArts, while working full-time at Leo's Stereo in the San Fernando Valley, a friend told him about an audition notice for a “puppet school” sponsored by Sid and Marty Krofft. Allan spent the summer of 1980 at what were a series of workshops under the direction of Tony Urbano. There he met other young puppeteers who all became lifelong friends—Bruce Lanoil, Kevin Carlson, Tim Blaney, and others. Much of the 1980s were spent working on projects for the Kroffts and for Dave Pavelonis and his Peppercorn Productions, as well as pursuing his acting career. During this time he was sent on an audition for Return of the Living Dead, and was cast as the Tarman, who went on to become an iconic zombie film character—among the first to ask specifically for “Brains!” In 1990, as part of the then-pending purchase of The Muppets by the Walt Disney Company, Jim Henson came to Los Angeles to direct Muppetvision 3-D, an attraction for Disney's theme parks. Again, a friend was able to get Allan into the audition, and this was the beginning of Allan's career with The Jim Henson Company and the Muppets. In 1991 Allan joined the cast of the ABC-TV series Dinosaurs as the animatronic puppeteer for Fran Sinclair. That show remained in production for 65 episodes, until the end of 1993, introducing Allan to sophisticated animatronics. This experience continued with movies like Babe, Men in Black, Doctor Dolittle, Jack Frost, The Flintstones in Viva Rock Vegas, Monkeybone, Cats and Dogs, Men in Black II, and The Country Bears. After Dinosaurs, two producers on that show requested his presence on their next show, Unhappily Ever After, a sitcom on the brand-new WB Network. Allan puppeteered Mr. Floppy, the lead character's wise-cracking (imaginary) talking bunny, voiced in front of a live audience by Bobcat Goldthwaite. In the meantime, Allan's work with The Muppets included videos such as It's Not Easy Being Green and Muppet Classic Theatre, the movie Muppets from Space, and, for TV, Muppets Tonight, It's a Very Merry Muppet Christmas Movie, and The Muppets' Wizard of Oz. In the summer of 2005, Allan became a founding member of Puppet Up!—Uncensored, Henson Alternative's puppet/improv show. He performed in the show off-Broadway, at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, on tour throughout the U.S., and on the historic Chaplin Stage on The Jim Henson Company lot. He also acted as puppetry technique instructor. He was one of three on-set puppeteers during production of The Jungle Book (2016), and was a core puppeteer on The Happytime Murders. Allan continues to work in physical as well as digital puppetry, in shows such as Splash and Bubbles for PBS Kids, and has moved into directing for that show and others. Julianne Buescher Julianne Buescher is a whimsically versatile, classically trained actor, voice-over artist and Muppet Performer…whose new Muppet character Beverly Plume can be seen in “Muppets Now!” On Disney+! Follow Julianne on IG at @juliannebuescher and see all her credits at IMDb.me/juliannebuescher Jake Tate Jack Tate is an actor/puppeteer/voiceover guy. Mostly, he's retired, but he'd work if someone asked. He was in movies: The Right Stuff, Monster in the Closet, Interview with an Assassin and many others. On TV, he did a lot of day-player roles: Fresh Prince, Frazier, Hotel, Murder She Wrote and many others, before he landed on Dinosaurs, as a regular player, a Unisaur, appearing as many of the characters interacting with the family. Another show he was a regular on later, was The Journey of Allen Strange, for Nickelodeon. He was more successful in commercials than TV or movies, doing pretty near 1000 of them, many as a spokesman for AT&T, Pepsi, Bud Light, Ford Mercury and played, for 20+ years, the character Jack in the Box. Dinosaurs was easily his career favorite. Michelan Sisti Michelan began his performing journey as a musician, then an actor with multiple Broadway roles, which directly led to him becoming a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle in the original live action movies (Michelangelo). Being Mikey, evolved into our ultimate animatronics show, “Dinosaurs”. The coolest suit show EVER! Since then, Mich has enjoyed 26 more years of Muppets and other neat things with puppets and motion capture. He has loved every minute of the trip. Rickey Boyd Rickey's interest in animation and puppetry began at an early age. At eleven, he and one of his friends produced their own crude TV puppet shows at a local cable access station and experimented with 8mm animated short films. During High School he continued designing and building his own puppet characters. Later, he attended Shorter College in Rome, Georgia where he majored in art and theater. During an internship at a local cable station he worked with college classmates Keith Thomas and Jeff Brown to produce two children's shows that featured his creations. This provided valuable monitor experience as well as enough footage for a demo reel. That reel would land him an audition with the Muppets. In 1988 he was interviewed by Jane Henson then met and auditioned for Jim Henson himself. He was asked to continue working with Jim Henson Productions as both an assistant and as a featured performer on various productions. He went on to performed various background characters on Sesame Street, The Abby in Wonderland special, Grandma Cookie Monster for Sesame Workshop's “Sesame Beginnings” project, Scooter and Crazy Harry in “Muppet's Wizard of Oz”, and Waffle in “Animal Jam”. Other projects include “Muppets From Space”, “Dinosaurs” the series, “Muppetvision 3D”, “Muppets at Disney World”, “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles”, The Jim Henson Hour's “Dog City” and “Song of the Cloud Forest”. Aside from Henson Productions, Rickey has performed lead characters for The Nashville Network's Peppercorn Productions. Most recently he continues to puppeteer as Doug the Slug in “The Slugs and Bugs Show” for RightNow Media, and as “George” in the web series “Wondermore” for In Touch Ministries. In addition to performing Rickey is an Emmy winning Creative Director for Magnetic Dreams Animation Studios in Nashville, Tn. There, he designs and directs animations for clients such as “Sesame Street”, among others. He lives outside Nashville with his wife Judy and their children Emily and Andrew. John E. Kennedy John E. Kennedy is a lifelong puppeteer who began performing at age three and met and worked with Jim Henson at the age of 22. He has been a member of Sesame Street since 1994, and currently performs The Amazing Mumford, a character originated by Jerry Nelson. John has also been a Muppet™ performer on projects such as Muppets From Space, The Muppets Wizard of Oz, The Muppets Take the Bowl, and The Muppets Take the O2. He has authored two puppet-making books (Puppet Mania and Puppet Planet), and has been a puppet captain, a choreographer, and a musician. As a puppet builder, Kennedy has represented Jim Henson's exhibits around the world with his puppet kits; he has also instructed young puppeteers on cruises, camps, and festivals. He lives in Ocoee, Florida with his wife, Julie, and creates custom puppet characters for theme parks and performs music with his band, Johnny K Band. Oh, the beaten path was never in the mix! LAST SUIT YOU'LL EVER WEAR ...AGAIN Damn, that first Men in Black movie was such a hoot! So it's a shame we are talking about that then. Instead we are looking it's dreadful follow up: Men In Black II. But let's ignore the two headed Johnny Knoxville though and instead concentrate on its memorable tie-in song: "Black Suits Comin' (Nod Ya Head)" by Will Smith. Ben has an ASMR disaster, Dietrich opts for cheese and Branston pickle and Alex has a very big problem with a very big worm. Its time to put on the last podcast you’ll ever need to listen to …. again. We’re back this time with even more spaced out hijinks while we watch Men in Black II! Check it out!
On this episode of the Sofa King Podcast, we look at the stunts, injuries, films, practical jokes, and television shows of the one and only Johnny Knoxville. Knoxville was inspired as a child by Evil Knievel, Jack Kerouac, and Hunter S. Thompson, and he went on to live a life they all would have been proud of. He was the a producer and main performer in the wildly successful Jackass television show, which went on to spawn several films (with yet more in pre-production all the time). He’s been nominated for an academy award and has injured just about every part of his body that exists. Born Philip John Clapp in Knoxville, Tennessee, he was a very smart and sickly child. At one time he had the flu, bronchitis, and pneumonia all at once; on top of his asthma, it literally almost killed him. He got straight A’s in high school and earned a free ride to a drama school, but dropped out to do his own thing. He wanted to be an actor and stunt man, so he found a way. He started by writing articles for Big Brother, a skating magazine. One day, he wanted to write an article about him testing police devices such as pepper spray and tasers. His editor at the time was Jeff Tremaine (later a producer on Jackass). He told him if he was going to write the article, he may as well film it. The rest was history. With a cadre of skateboarders who were all friends, they launched Jackass. Once the pilot was filmed (where Knoxville broke his ankle), they turned to a friend named Spike Jonze (the academy award winning director) to sell the idea. He got them a deal on MTV. After three seasons, they did several movies, each one more dangerous and ludicrous than the last one. Half of the cast became household names, from Steve-O to Pontius and Wee Man to Bam Margera. They stuff cars up their butts, almost died with crazy explosive rockets, and did things nobody could believe. And then they’d come back for more. And more. And more. Eventually, Johnny Knoxville went on to star in regular movies like Walking Tall with The Rock and Men In Black II. He kept going as the head of his own production company, writes books, and is still doing stunts and getting hurt. What was his favorite prank of them all? What was his worst injury? How did he almost with an Oscar for Bad Grandpa? Who died and made the entire stunt crew slow down? Will there be a Jackass 4? Listen, laugh, learn. With the support of Sony Music Entertainment, the group released ‘Night and Day' in 2014. Soon after, the track was selected to be featured alongside Shakira, Jennifer Lopez, Santana, and others in the 2014 FIFA World Cup Official Album. In 2015, the band released Ride With Me, their first album in over ten years, following a performance at the halftime show of a New York Giants vs. Dallas Cowboys game. The album would mark the beginning of a relationship between the Baha Men and producer Troyton Rami (Sean Paul, Beenie Man, Wayne Wonder), who would go on to produce future releases. As the band nears 100 million cumulative streams worldwide, the group has also performed on Live with Kelly and Ryan, The Bachelorette, and collaborated with Our Last Night for a performance that has since surpassed a million views on YouTube. Through a partnership with producer Troyton Rami, the Baha Men first released ‘Bumpa' on February 22nd, 2018. Reaching 200K Spotify streams since release and featured on Sirius XM's Venus Channel, they followed up the single with the April 5th, 2019 release of ‘Let's Go'. Produced by DJ Buddha (Pitbull), the band honed their high-energy, junkanoo-meets-hip hop brew. With their April 30th release of ‘Take A Chance,” recorded with Patrick Romantik in Miami, the Baha Men continue to prove their longevity and ability to craft high energy pop hooks while maintaining a close-knit and familial feel to their music. From that first Steeler album to recent releases like “South X South Dakota” and “Fight Like A Band,” Ron Keel’s 35-year career in entertainment has taken him from the concrete jungles of arena rock to the dirt roads of country music. Along the way, he has sold millions of albums and toured the world as both a heavy metal screamer (KEEL, Steeler, and a brief encounter with Black Sabbath) and a southern rock/outlaw country artist (with dozens of songs in major films and TV shows). For the past two decades, the Metal Cowboy has combined both genres, establishing a style and a persona which captures the heart and personality of this self-proclaimed rock n’ roll outlaw. Keel’s legendary major label debut album THE RIGHT TO ROCK was produced by KISS’ Gene Simmons – they went on to notch three albums on Billboard’s Hot 100 as well as MTV and radio hits “The Right To Rock,” “Because The Night,” “Tears Of Fire,” “Somebody’s Waiting,” and “Rock N Roll Outlaw.” Opening shows for Bon Jovi, Van Halen, Aerosmith, Motley Crue, Dio, Y&T, Queensryche and many more established a hard work ethic that remains strong today; the 2019/2020 World Tour included the Monsters Of Rock Cruise (Belize/Cozumel), Ron’s first-ever tour of Australia, the Frontiers Rock Festival in Milan, Italy, the KISS & Rock N Roll Expo in Helsinki, Finland, casinos, fairs and festivals stateside, KEELFEST (featuring Keel, Ron Keel Band and Steeler) plus major bike events like the Sturgis Rally and Hot Harley Nights. After nearly three years hosting the “Streets of Rock & Roll” rock-and-talk syndicated radio show, Keel was handpicked to join a dream team of Midwest rock radio royalty on KBAD 94.5 FM, where Ron’s “Mid-Day Mayhem” show skyrocketed to the top of the Neilson ratings for that region. He’s now back on the “Streets Of Rock N Roll” with weekly broadcasts on PureRockRadio.net, UncontrolledNoize.com, 97Underground, Philly Rock Radio and RockRageRadio.com. As a songwriter, Ron has dozens of TV and film credits – major movies like “Men In Black II,” “Dolphin Tale,” “The Messengers” and many more – and his songs have been featured in hit TV shows like “X-Files,” “Desperate Housewives,” “The Simpsons,” “King Of The Hill,” and the Daytona 500 broadcast. Ron Keel has worked hard to remain ahead of the curve, constantly re-inventing himself and evolving with the changes in the entertainment industry. His most recent venture is at http://patreon.com/ronkeel, where fans pay a monthly subscription fee and get all access to exclusive content and personal fan experiences.

Rick joins the brothers to talk about a movie he and Jer saw in the theater together (but then he completely forgot): 2002's "Men In Black II" starring Will Smith and flabba shabba shabbity doo Tommy Lee Jones. DIrected once again by Barry Sonnenfeld, the sequel treads all of the familiar ground from the first flick but still feels like a made for TV movie.
A new Men in Black movie, Men In Black International, is coming up! A sequel to the original, Men In Black II and Men In Black III. BUT! Between one and two there was the oft forgotten but somewhat of a hidden gem, Men In Black The Animated Series that ran 1997 to 2002. 5 years after the wildly successful first installment that grossed over half-a-billion dollars, the cast and crew reunited for a new adventure they hoped would increase the success of the franchise. Well, it appeared 5 years was just a little too late to capitalize on the momentum. The box office returns were okay, critic reviews were abominable, but hey, audiences liked the film just as much as the first! After 17 years Men in Black II's favorability among viewers has been increasing. Join Corbin and Allen as they watch Men in Black II for the first time to give you their in-depth thoughts on whether they think this is a worthy sequel. This week, we sit down to talk about the not-so-great sequel to a masterpiece, Men In Black II. We talk about how Will Smith's performance changes from the first film to the second, who deserves to get neuralyzed and why, and, once and for all, how genuinely good Hancock is.FOLLOW BLACK MEN CAN'T JUMP [IN HOLLYWOOD]:https://twitter.com/blackmenpodcasthttps://www.instagram.com/blackmenpodcastBUY BLACK MEN CAN'T JUMP [IN HOLLYWOOD] MERCH:https://www.teepublic.com/stores/black-men-can-t-jump-in-hollywoodSUPPORT BLACK MEN CAN'T JUMP [IN HOLLYWOOD] ON PATREON:https://www.patreon.com/BMCJBLACK MEN CAN'T JUMP [IN HOLLYWOOD] IS A FOREVER DOG PODCAST:https://foreverdogpodcasts.com/podcasts/black-men-cant-jump-in-hollywood

This week Tim and I get our teeth into the second installment of the Men In Black movies, have a listen and be sure to let us know your thoughts!
Doug and Paul join us for the 12th installment of our Merry Marvel Movie March to gab about Men in Black II. We're mostly just as disappointed now as we were back when it was first released, but are a little bit happier with the music. And what does that locker scene imply about the nature of our universe? We decide that's a dumb question and talk about Patrick Warburton instead.

Nod ya head to the dulcet tones of the voices of Allen Christian, Steven Granger, and Gerald James as they talk about 2002's Men In Black II. The probably-anticipated-by-someone sequel isn't nearly as fun as the first. In fact, it's no fun. Fuck that dog. Will Smith is pretty okay, and Tommy Lee Jones was probably too good for this. Also on this episode, the guys discuss past states of pornography for no discernible reason, Jackass cast members, and avoid politics as best they can. Its a Just the Sequels week as we strap ourselves in for the sequel to 1997's Men in Black. Let's just pause for reflection on the fact that Will Smith was in Independence Day in 1996 a hyper serious film with aliens and then decided to follow that up with Men in Black... Of course none of that matters because we are watching the sequel, you know the one that inexplicably features Johnny Knoxville inexplicably! Next time a much better movie, hopefully....
In this episode of Less Than Or Sequel To, we watch Men In Black II to find out if it's as bad as we remember it being. Spoiler alert! It is.

Become charming and confident, even if you no idea what to say and have no confidence whatsoever. Jordan Harbinger is a lifestyle coach. He teaches men the art of charm (no natural charm required). He starts by identifying any situational confidence a man may or may not have. If a man is extremely confident in his work as a doctor, Jordan shows him how to channel that confidence into talking to women. Talking about your favorite band and alcoholic beverage of choice will become as easy as talking about scalpels and stethoscopes. Jordan explains how men can shift their body language to change how women perceive them. If a guy doesn’t have any situational confidence, they have to start from scratch. Men must unlearn all the negative things they think about dating and women. All that negativity is extremely unattractive and hinders men from having the relationships they want. Women can sense when a guy isn’t being genuine. If you want to attract women you have to find out what you bring to the table, and bring it! Jordan also talks about how men can deal with rejection. Some men would rather feel like a comfortable failure than put themselves out there. With low risk comes low reward. A word from the wise, don’t linger by the bar bathroom because you’re afraid to approach her when she’s with her friends. You don’t want to be the creepy guy lurking by the women’s bathroom. Just walk up to her and start a conversation (Jordan will tell you what to say). Once you get the number, Jordan tells you what to text her. Unless you want to be watching Men In Black II alone on a Saturday night, avoid “Hey, What’s Up?” He even tells you where to go on a date. Whatever you do, don’t go to a dinner and movie. To sum it up: what most men are doing, just isn’t working. Unless you want to be the creeper lingering by the bathroom, listen to this podcast.
