In this heartfelt, high-energy conversation, Stephanie Bohn—entertainment veteran turned startup founder—traces her journey from American Express to 13 years at Warner Bros., scaling Rotten Tomatoes, a pivotal stint at Netflix, and ultimately to purpose-built entrepreneurship. Stephanie shares how “raising your hand before you feel 100% ready” opened doors to building new business lines (hello, early App Store days) and leading through ambiguity. We dig into her time as CMO at Chief, the power of peer boards for executive women, and what servant leadership looks like in practice. The episode turns deeply personal as Stephanie opens up about her daughter's Rett syndrome diagnosis, the broken systems families navigate, and how that sparked Truly Care—a mission-driven platform connecting families with specialized caregivers and guiding them to underused respite resources. It's a masterclass in turning obsession into action, finding champions, and designing a life that sustains both ambition and wellbeing. We cover:Spotting and pitching opportunities before you're “ready”Intrapreneurship at scale: apps, IP, and the Rotten Tomatoes playbookInside Chief: “who mentors the mentors?” and changing the face of leadershipCaregiving as infrastructure: access, affordability, and dignityDefining servant leadership and leading by removing obstaclesFounder fuel: memoirs, The Pitch podcast, and mindset rituals that stickGuest links:LinkedInWebsiteInstagramMic-drop moment: “If you're obsessed with the idea, break it into nano-steps, find your champions, and build the scaffolding until it exists.”

Welcome, everyone, to tonight's episode. We're diving into A Simple Favor and its sequel Another Simple Favor — two stylish, twisty thrillers that sit at the intersection of dark comedy, mystery, and melodrama. But behind the glamour and plot turns lies an interesting story of studio strategy, financial risk, and evolving distribution models.Let's start with the original. A Simple Favor (2018) is directed by Paul Feig, from a screenplay by Jessica Sharzer, and stars Anna Kendrick as Stephanie and Blake Lively as Emily. The film is based on the 2017 novel by Darcey Bell. Its budget was modest — around 20 million dollars — and it went on to gross nearly 98 million worldwide. Critics generally responded well, with a Metacritic score in the high 60s and audiences giving it a CinemaScore of B+. Rotten Tomatoes praised it as “twisty, twisted, and above all simply fun.” Part of the allure is the tone: it plays like a “mommy noir” — elegant, sharp, with sharply drawn characters and unpredictable turns. It was a strong showing for a midtier studio film, and helped cement A Simple Favor as a cult favorite in the thriller and women-driven mystery niche.Fast forward to 2025, and we have Another Simple Favor. This sequel is not based on a book — unlike the original, it's an original screenplay by Jessica Sharzer and Laeta Kalogridis. The production is a co-venture: Lionsgate still participates, but distribution shifted. Another Simple Favor was released on Amazon Prime Video rather than in theaters, with Amazon MGM handling distribution. Filming took place in 2024, in locations like Capri and the Villa Adriana in Italy. Critically, the sequel has earned mixed reviews. Some praise Lively's magnetic presence, gorgeous costumes, and the ambition of the story's escalation. But others argue it feels overstuffed, that pacing sags in parts, and that it lacks some of the tightness or novelty of the first film. One reviewer summed it up: “It works better when its characters are just allowed to be marvelous instead of mysterious.” It also premiered at SXSW in March 2025 before its streaming release on May 1. The fact that its home is Prime Video, rather than a theatrical run, signals some of the shifting business realities behind studio films — especially for sequels that may carry higher risk. These two films provide an ideal case study in how creative ambition, risk, and studio strategy collide. The first film was a midbudget gamble that paid off. The second gives us lessons in modern distribution, content partnerships, and the pressures on midsize studios to share risk or cede control with streaming giants.Tonight, we're going to compare the narratives, the characters, the successes and stumbles — but also look behind the curtain: how studios like Lionsgate are navigating a volatile business environment, why a sequel would skip theaters, and whether the shift in approach gives Another Simple Favor an edge or a handicap. So grab your martini, or mocktail — let's get into A Simple Favor and Another Simple Favor.Disclaimer: The following may contain offensive language, adult humor, and/or content that some viewers may find offensive – The views and opinions expressed by any one speaker does not explicitly or necessarily reflect or represent those of Mark Radulich or W2M Network.Mark Radulich and his wacky podcast on all the things:https://linktr.ee/markkind76alsohttps://www.teepublic.com/user/radulich-in-broadcasting-networkFB Messenger: Mark Radulich LCSWTiktok: @markradulichtwitter: @MarkRadulichInstagram: markkind76RIBN Album Playlist: https://suno.com/playlist/91d704c9-d1ea-45a0-9ffe-5069497bad59

In this episode, the gang discusse Twinless, the Emmys, the Pitt, The Long Walk, 28 Years Later, The Man Who Killed Hitler And Then The Bigfoot, Alien Earth, Friendship, and Upload. This episode kicks off with just Kevin and Lauren. They discuss the new film Twinless, starring Dylan O'Brien. It's a low-budget affair that should have had a better release. Despite its less-than-stellar advertising, the film is excellent, getting great reviews on both Rotten Tomatoes and IMDB. It's a film about two men who meet in a group for those who have lost their twins, and the emotional journey they take together. It's definitely worth watching in the theater if you can find it, but otherwise catch it as soon as it streams somewhere!  Andrew joins the call, and when Lauren finishes, the gang discusses the 2025 Emmys. While they generally agreed with the victors, some of the nominees were questionable. Many shows had too many nominations, whereas some more deserving had none. But overall, the Emmys got it right.  The Emmy discussion leads us straight into Lauren's review of the series "The Pitt" on HBO. It's a 15-episode series about life in a Pittsburgh emergency room. It stars new Emmy winner, Noah Wiley The show is shot in an almost a 24-like method where the 15 episodes are basically in real time. This show deserved every award it won. After Lauren says goodnight, it's left up to Kevin and Andrew. Andrew had the opportunity to see "The Long Walk" in theaters this week. While Kevin hasn't seen it, he's a huge Stephen King fan, so he's been very much anticipating this review. Overall, Andrew liked the movie and recommends it, although some issues with bodily functions may have sent him a little over the edge. That being said, it's worth seeing in the theater if you have the time and the money, so go check it out.  For the first time in a while, we get to a film that both guys have seen, 28 Years Later. This is an extension of 28 DaysWeeks Later and is definitely in a more run-down world than we've seen before. Past films seem to suggest that the rage virus affected the entire world, but it now seems isolated to the United Kingdom. Survivors are now in quarantine in the UK. This is the story of a both falling out with his father and coming into his own to save his mother's life. There are some great performances by Jodie Comer and Ralph Fiennes, as well as the young lead. This one is definitely worth checking out now that it's streaming on Netflix.  Next up, it's just Kevin for a minute, and e talks about a film called "The Man Who Killed Hitler and Then the Bigfoot". If, by chance, you're reading this before you watch the episode, it's recommend that you take a minute and think about what you imagine this film would be. As you watch Kevin talk about it, you'll find it's absolutely nothing like anything you thought it would be. It stars Sam Elliott, and that's all we'll say here. We may not recommend going to watch this film, even though it's on Hulu, but it's interesting. If you want to see a story of a man's life journey, then go check it out.  Keeping with the theme of things that probably no one will watch, Andrew watched "Friendship" this week, so it gives Kevin a chance to grill him about what he thought of the film. Generally speaking, both gentlemen agree that it's not the best film. It's neither funny nor dramatic. The argument could be made that the actors were very good, arguably too good, but overall, the film itself just is not worth watching.  After a deep breath, Kevin and Andrew talk about the penultimate episode of Alien Earth, which is obviously excellent. There's a lot to unpack here because the guys haven't talked about it for a couple of weeks. Overall, the guys have loved the season so far and are really excited to see where it goes, although there's some hesitation as to whether they can end it properly, knowing that it may not even get a second season. There's a good discussion and, of course, some predictions for the finale, which may or may not have come true. So give it a listen and then go watch the season finale, which just aired.  Kevin closes out the show talking about the series finale of Upload on Amazon Prime. It's a short fourth season, which amounts to a four-part series finale. Overall, it's been a lot of fun to watch. If you started watching from the beginning, you'll be satisfied with the ending. If you haven't watched, it's almost a mash-up of The Good Place and Idiocracy. You have to be in the mood for some silly humor, but it is very creative and a lot of fun, and the comedic acting is on point. So if that is your jam, go give it a watch and enjoy.  As always, thank you for watching. If you haven't already, don't forget to Like & Subscribe. We love new viewers! We're back again — fresh off our little Not Woody Actually detour — with another thoughtful instillment of Woody Allen Adjacent!   This time, Donald and James turn their attention to Celine Song's The Materialists. Marketed like a conventional romantic comedy, the film instead plays out as a melancholic character study about love, ambition, and the ways relationships risk becoming transactional rather than organic.   It's a distinctly modern take on dating and connection — one that's clearly split audiences, even as the critics seem to adore this one. (Critics vs. audiences… go figure. :P)   We ended up pretty mixed ourselves, but between the strong craft, the solid performances, and the themes at play, The Materialists made for another fascinating Woody Adjacent discussion.!       For full cast details, user reviews, and more background on the film, check out:

Then Kurt has some news about a potentially controversial acting role for Blac Chyna (will the Rotten Tomatoes score work against it?). Plus, the guys get hitched to Hallmark's The Groomsmen: First Look, the first in a trilogy of movies about three Philadelphians that don't have Philly accents! It's also nice to see Hallmark nodding at shying away from divorce, and leaning into showing the couples actually getting to know each other. Months ago, Tod saw, and recommended Companion (2025), the Jack Quaid, Sophie Thatcher dark comedy that Google lists as as a “Horror, Thriller, Science Fiction, Romance.” On Rotten Tomatoes it comes in at 93%. On IMDB. It's a 6.9. Recently, Dave stumbled upon it and suggested Barry watch as well. To say “opinions vary” on this one is kind of an understatement. Apparently a lot of it comes down to the expectations you go in with … like if you've never read the introductory blurb, or seen the trailer, you might be surprised by something other than what the studio intended. Maybe you should also just watch. There's also the usual round of Random Topics and the debut of a new segment called Back in Time. Thanks for listening!

Mindhunter is an absolutely riveting, addicting, and intellectually gripping series that redefines the crime drama genre. From the very first episode, it plunges you into a hauntingly realistic portrayal of the early days of criminal profiling at the FBI. The attention to detail, the slow-burn narrative, and the disturbingly accurate depictions of real-life serial killers make it one of the most intense and thought-provoking shows I've ever watched. What a phenomenal interview! Getting to know the details about his role as Jerry Brudos and the show, that kind of insight is priceless! As season one of the show progressed, so did the characters while discussing their crimes. Happy Anderson portraying Jerry Brudos is still one of my favorite sequences not only because of the nature of the sequence but the scenes are kind of light-hearted and comical. If you have not watched this show, please do… I highly recommend this series for nay true crime buff out there. With a 97% score on Rotten Tomatoes, that kind of tells you something. It's still streaming on Netflix!

A firecracker that initially fizzled with audiences but has increasingly crackled with succeeding generations of film lovers, Sweet Smell of Success today boasts a 98% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Defying genre expectations, it has been described in the media as a film noir, a crime thriller, a comedy, a satire, a character study, and a drama. By any measure, this poison pen letter to the glitzy world of big city show business is bracing and entertaining. It features pungent dialogue, a ripping jazz score, balls-out performances from enthusiastically unlikeable characters played by Burt Lancaster and Tony Curtis, and top-notch location work in 1950s New York City strikingly shot in black and white. Can our panel of young film-lovers relate to this bygone world of martini-drinking, cigarette-smoking, woman-exploiting men on the make? Or will the not-so-sweet smell drive them away? Along the way we hear from film critic Christian Toto, purveyor of conservative-friendly film enthusiast site HollywoodInToto.com. We also hear the late Andrew Breitbart describe a blueprint for winning the culture war. It may seem like the woke mob has a stranglehold on Tinseltown. But there is a way to loosen its grip…if the forces that want to save America have the will to commit to the plan.Support the show: https://redpilledamerica.com/support/See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
