“Think of our NFL network, it's 38 podcasts. To source 38 podcasts, you don't want eight different publishers and 38 different onboarding calls and invoices - it can be a nightmare. So for us, we like to just make it as easy for an advertiser as possible to activate with those micro-communities of fans for specific teams, but they're able to do so at the highest level of activation with the NFL network.” On today's episode of The Podcast Advertising Playbook, Heather is joined by Bryan Goldmark, Head of Sales at Locked On Podcast Network. Bryan shares his unique insight into the challenges and benefits of advertising on shows with a localized audience - like fans of a specific sports team. Heather and Bryan also discuss: How LockedOn taps their hosts to create an authentic ad read. Questions that arise when representing sports-centered shows. Pros and cons of dynamic ad insertion. Challenges with tracking the success of a podcast ad campaign. The one podcast ad that made Heather and Bryan buy the product. ______________________________________ More of a visual person? In today's episode, I will preview the upcoming divisional match up between the Baltimore Ravens and Cleveland Browns. This will be the first meeting between the two this season (and soon be second in just two weeks), and as we know last December when they met on Monday Night Football it was a delight. The Ravens would defeat the Browns in overtime, 47-42, after hitting Hollywood Brown in the backfield with a beautiful passing touchdown for the win. This time around, the Ravens are ravaged with injuries and the Browns QB, Baker Mayfield, is dealing with a nagging shoulder injury. Both teams are above .500, Ravens sitting at 7-3 (leading the division) and Browns are 6-5. This is a must win for both teams, and one can only imagine which team will get the upper hand tonight? Can Baker Mayfield lead his Browns past the Ravens? Or will Lamar lead the Ravens past the Browns and increase the teams' primetime to 18-2 all time?

It's Always Personal is a spinoff of the Pay Me No Mind Sports & Entertainment Podcast that surely lives on somewhere Google can find - if one chose to look. I forgot to mention, during this episode, that the Inauguration of the United States' 46th President went down this week, but it felt like a great moment to move beyond politics and the weightier issues of the world. Before moving onto this episode's guest, time had to be spent talking about the passing of 86-year old MLB legend Henry "Hank" Aaron. So, I invited a fellow podcaster on in The Real Deal With Damian Adams' creator/host Damian Adams. We did touch on how he deals with the constant issue of race in sports while producing his well-done podcast. But we also talked about getting started with a podcast, finding ones voice, reaching various milestones in podcasting and then closed with Adams' thoughts on some of sports' biggest current headlines. Adams' Real Deal podcast can be found wherever you found IAP, so be sure to check him out and take in his detail-oriented and thoughtful brand of sports talk. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/its-always-personal/support

My Baltimore Ravens picked up a huge 35 point win against the Bengals defeating them 38-3 to advance to their third straight playoff berth. They also set a season rushing record in a game by rushing over 400 yards! An astounding feat as they look to defeat their arch nemesis, Tennessee Titans. Also, the Dolphins are curb stomped by the Bills, the Bears lose to the Packers but make the playoffs. Who can stop the "red hot" Buffalo Bills and Green Bay Packers this postseason? Lastly, are the defending Superbowl champs in trouble?
In todays episode, I have special guest (local rapper Ayyoungmays) as we discuss some of the surprising moments in week 16 as we near closer to the end of the NFL season.
