Quinton “Rampage” Jackson returns to the show to talk his UFC career, fighting a deaf guy, why Jason “Mayhem” Miller is a traitor, the illegitimacy of the Jake Paul-Mike Tyson fight, a potential Jake Paul-Conor McGregor fight, and how a doctor's misdiagnosis led to his terrible loss to Fedor in 2020. Next, Jason “Mayhem” Miller reads the news including stories about Conor McGregor breaking his silence on sexual assault trial loss, a grandma of 12 breaking the world record by doing 1,575 push-ups in an hour, and a Florida deputy who used a Taser on suspect pumping gas (burning 75% of his body) being cleared of criminal charges. Then, radio personality & owner of GiveMeTheVIN.com, John Clay Wolfe stops by to talk about the Paul Newman Porsche 308 that he bought with Adam, the six-wheel Ferrari Testarossa he built, how remote car auction locations inspired him to buy his first private jet, and the California regulations that are ruining Adam's sink-urinal dreams.

The Simeone Museum in Philadelphia, PA is proud to present Le Mans 1959 The Underdog Champion, a demo day event celebrating the unlikely and impressive victory by a relatively small and underfunded Aston Martin team. At the time, the 24 hours of Le Mans was dominated by larger, highly financed organizations such as Ferrari and Jaguar, who had access to more advanced technology and greater resources. Despite this, Aston Martin managed to pull off a stunning upset victory at the 1959 race with their DBR1 piloted by drivers Roy Salvadori and Carroll Shelby. During this demo day, visitors had the chance to see three of the most popular cars in the museum in action, learn from the team of experts about their design and engineering, and discover more about the intense competition and challenges of Le Mans during the late 1950s. The featured exhibition included cars like the 1956 Jaguar D Type, 1958 Aston Martin DBR1, and the 1958 Ferrari 250 Testarossa. All car racing in the world, you could argue Le Mans is the biggest race in the world. Indy 500, that could be a challenge, but Le Mans, it's right at the top and it's certainly beyond any other sports car race, even though there are tremendous sports car races. If you'd like to learn more about the Simeone Foundation Museum or schedule a visit, be sure to check out www.simeone.org. Why is it so difficult to name a car? Some vehicle names sound great, like Testarossa, Countach, Viper, Interceptor, Charger, Defender, Gladiator and Raptor. Other names aren't very exciting, and sound way too contrived. The guys battle hybrid choices for Theodōr in Iceland, and address first-world problems for Patrick in LA. Bonus Track. Alfa Romeo 8C 2900 A de 1936, Oldsmobile Toronado y Saab Sonett.
IWP Ep27 Ed Kurtzman - Sandler, August West, Mansfield-Dunne. I recently sat down with Ed Kurtzman of Sandler wines, August West and Mansfield- Dunne wines to talk about his long and distinguished career in California wine. Besides the 3 wineries I already named he's made wine for Roar, Testarossa, Freeman and Fort Ross. He produces much of his wine out of the August West facility in San Francisco which also hosts other labels and winemakers working out of the facility. Ed is super knowledgeable about wine and noticed in about 2 seconds that the carpet in the lobby of the studio was corked. We discuss how he got his start and going off on his own as a consultant, how he likes to treat Pinot Noir and the other grapes he works with or would like to work with. No sé qué decirte…
Has any automotive facelift ever made a car better than its original design? This episode of the Carmudgeon show is sponsored by Lucid Motors, who has special lease and finance offers on available 2023 models of the Lucid Air Touring and Grand Touring. Visit lucidmotors.com for offer details. What Carmudgeon episode would complete without a discussion of Bruno Sacco's Mercedes masterpieces, including the W201, W124, W140, and R129? Then, there's the Ferrari lineage: 246 Dino to 308 GTB to 328 GTB to 348 tb to F355. And perhaps the most successful facelift ever, the Bangle-Butt BMW E65/E66 7-series — which was vastly more successful in showrooms after BMW"s "LCI," or "Life Cycle Impulse," BMW-speak for a facelift. There's the Mk1 Volkswagen Golf, with the Clipper Kit Cabriolet and the Citi versions, the BMW E30, the Jaguar Series III to XJ40 to X300 to X308. And what if all the Radwood-era cars only got prettier because of relaxed and harmonized bumper standards, like the W116 Mercedes S-Class did when it was replaced with the W126. Discussed is also the Lamborghini Countach, Renault R5 Turbo, Lancia Integrale and Evo. And of course the Ferrari Testarossa Monospecchio, turned into the Testarossa, the 512TR, and ultimately 512M. How about BMW's prime era of the E38 and E39 and E46? The original Chevrolet Cavalier? The ovoid Taurus? Or just the Miata NC Miata, in NC1, NC2, and NC3 revisions? It's all an interesting discussion and a fun brain-dump from two curmudgeonly car experts, one of whom probably needs a facelift himself soon. === The Carmudgeon Show is part of the Hagerty Podcast Network. ¡No me he equivocado!

This week on Miami Vice: Ira Stone (Bob Balaban) returns to Miami with a lot of (justified) paranoia and proof of the US involvement in Nicaragua when he sees (and has the tape) Americans posing as Sandinistas, touching on the real and timely issue of the Iran-Contra scandal. With this proof, he wants a Peabody and starts putting the word out that the tape is for sale, which in turn means the government is hot on his tail and Crockett, loyal as always, is worried his friend is back on the hard stuff and stretching the truth. Maynard (G Gordon Liddy) returns to get Stone once again before Stone's work foils his evildoing. Canadian singer songwriter Sam Drysdale joins the DTP to go behind his new EP 'Testarossa'! The inspiration for Testarossa comes from the Italian word for “redhead” aptly named after the chic 12-cylinder, mid-engine sports car manufactured by Enzo Ferrari between 1984-1996. It represents the next step in the speedy evolution of a talent that is gearing up to be at the forefront of pop music! We dive behind tracks like ‘Dream About a Girl', a mid-tempo ballad where Drysdale uses his arresting tenor to weave a netherworld between reverie and reality, as well as the latest single ‘Nothing On You' and it's incredible music video that features a beautiful dance routine highlighted in black & white.

Today's conversation is with John Temerian of Curated, a dealership in Miami specializing in vintage supercars. John's journey started at his father's Lamborghini service business where he grew from sweeping floors & cleaning cars to doing a clutch on a Testarossa at the age of 16. Eventually he would leave the proverbial nest to chase a lifestyle inspired by his father's big clients who had the money, who had the cars, and who he thought had the life he wanted. He hosted parties, supercar events, and eventually ended up running a successful exotic car rental company, Lou LaVie, but something was missing. He just wasn't fulfilled. And that's when serendipity stepped in and he realized that everything he had learned at a young age from his father, how to evaluate a car, what's correct about a vehicles history, was baked into his DNA and a valuable asset to collectors. Thus Curated was born. This is a great story about building a brand, sticking to your DNA, and focusing on exactly what you know as you run the entrepreneurial marathon. Please enjoy this chat with John Temerian of Curated.
Ferrari 348 introduced many innovations compared to previous model 328 (derived from 308). First of all a steel boxed frame and a removable rear sub-frame to speed up the removal of the engine for maintenance. Longitudinal rear-mid-engine with 5-speed manual gearbox (and with the first in low-left position). With 300hps at 7.200 rpm, the naturally aspirated 3.4-liter version of the quad-cam, the four-valve-per-cylinder V8 engine was equipped with electronic injection and engine management systems. The Design was perfectly balanced between Testarossa and 288 GTO. It was really fast and difficult to drive for non-expert drivers, and for this reason, many hated this car. But I love the car with character. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/johnny-garage/message
We discuss dead cars we didn't know were exiting. Jon chooses between a bronco and a wrangler. We discuss the lameness of the Jeep Gladiator and Jeep's attempt at it as trying to be the everything SUV. We then get into a new segment called "Stupid Car history" and discuss the city of Corona, CA's short race history. Jon test's Randy's engine sound knowledge with 468. The e36 gets updates and progresses further. We guess the car we would drive while listening to Sade's Smooth Operator. Lastly, Jon discusses having to ride close to someone from behind to prevent an accident.
John Draneas is a true car guy. He collects, he races, and he cleans them and tries a little maintenance every now and then. There is perhaps no more iconic 1980s supercar than the Ferrari Testarossa. But the Testarossa has a big secret: it’s not a supercar. Oh, it has the performance in spades — but it’s actually a civilized grand tourer in personality. That’s what surprises nearly everyone who drives one for the first time. It’s comfortable. Exceedingly quiet. It rides well. Other than unassisted steering and being wider than a full-size pickup truck, the Testarossa is an easy car to drive. Once it’s warmed up, that is.On this week’s episode, Derek and Jason discuss all things Testarossa - from its crankiness when cold to its beginnings as a 365 BB and 512BB and its ending as a 512TR and 512M. BB has never stood for Berlinetta Boxer — how could it, when the Testarossa’s red-headed flat-12 isn’t a “boxer” engine? (It’s a flat-12, a horizontally opposed 12, or a 180-degree V-12, but not a Boxer, because opposing pistons share crankpins.) Also, they discuss whether its BB name stands for Berlinetta Bialbero (twin-cam coupe, which would be weird because Ferrari already had a DOHC version of its V-12) or whether it was actually named after Brigitte Bardot. Then, there are the Monospecchio cars with center-lock wheels versus the later cars with two mirrors and five-lug wheels. And then there are the inevitable comparisons to the Lamborghinis - the Miura and Countach, as well as the BMW E31 8-series and the front-engine Ferrari GTs and sports cars, including the Daytona. The Carmudgeon Show is a comedic, information-filled conversation with Jason Cammisa and Derek Tam-Scott, two car enthusiasts who are curmudgeonly beyond their years. Proving you don’t have to be old to be grumpy, they spend each episode talking about what’s wrong with various parts of the automotive universe. Despite their best efforts to keep it negative, they usually wind up laughing, happy, and extolling their love for cars. Which just makes them angrier and more bitter.Jason Cammisa is an automotive journalist, social-media figure, and TV host with over 250 million views on YouTube alone. Jason’s deeply technical understanding, made possible by a lifelong obsession with cars, allows him to fully digest what’s going on within an automobile — and then put it into simple terms for others to understand. Also, a Master’s Degree in Law trained him to be impossible to argue with. Derek Tam-Scott still tries. He’s a young automotive expert with old-man taste in cars, and a Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering — which means he knows how to be civil to Jason. Or at least he tries. With a decade and a half’s experience buying, selling, driving and brokering classic and exotic cars, he’s experienced the world’s most iconic cars. And hated most of them. Twenty five years ago Rob Jensen was immersed in the high tech world of Silicon Valley. He and his wife Diana shared a love of wine and after volunteering during harvest at a local winery, decided to try making wine themselves. Like a true tech start up, they turned their garage into a home winery. Well a couple barrels led to a few more, and then many more.

Theresa Gilpatrick is the Executive Director of the Ferrari Club of America. She was born and raised in Los Angeles, the heart of car culture. Always having the car bug, she collected Matchbox cars, built Revell models and anticipated her driver’s license far too early. After a post-college move, her association with Ferraris grew deeper and she acquired a 308 QV, a 330 2+2 two headlight, a Testarossa, a 250 Cabriolet Series II, among others. She earned a Masters degree in Non-profit Management in 1996 and has served in the non-profit sector for over 25 years. Her position with the Ferrari Club of America allows her to use her education, support the collector car hobby, and give back through a wonderful platform filled with Ferrari tifosi.

We have a special guest this week! 3 D's on the podcast for Spy Kids 3D. And Kyle gets a little tipsy by the end of this episode. He really needs to stop not eating all day and then drinking like he normally does on a full stomach when he gets in his little recording closet....idiot. Also remove from oven and let cool in the pan for a few minutes. Then remove the banana bread from the pan and let cool completely before serving. Slice and serve. (A bread knife helps to make slices that aren't crumbly.)... What's going on?

Anime review of Episodes 10-13 of the Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha Box Set. Published by Geneon. List Price: $59.98, Rated 13+. Box Set contains Episodes 1-13. Directed by Akiyuki Shinbo (Moonphase, Negima, Maria Holic). Written by Masaki Tsuzuki. Fate has once again failed to capture Nanoha's Jewel Seeds, so yes, it's time for a sadistic whipping from her mom, Precia Testarossa (why are the Japanese obsessed with naming their female characters Testarossa?). But this time, Aruf gets pissed and attacks Precia. For her trouble, she is almost destroyed and has to flee to Earth, where she again encounters Nanoha and her pals and decides to switch sides in order to rescue Fate from her mother. Meanwhile, the TSAB are closing in on Precia's space travelling rock for a final confrontation. Nanoha, Yuno, and Chrono have to go in after Precia wipes out an assault team. Magical Nanoha comes to a satisfying if uneventful end. Ok, a big battle happens at the end, but what I mean is that while Nanoha has been entertaining and fun, it never really succeeds at seperating itself from the mob. All of the characters were just a tad bit too shallow and one dimensional. The animation, especially on this last dvd, is first rate and rarely reverts to shortcuts, even during the battle sequences. But Nanoha could never cast off its indebtedness to Cardcaptor Sakura, even though it succeeded in its own kinda clone way. Definitely worth watching if you're a magical girl fan but isn't going to ever break into the greatness realm. My Grade for the Series: B Watch the first part of episode 10 below:
