TikTok crime sleuth Ken Waks finds himself in hot water as Texas Monthly opines that “what began as a baseless theory has turned into a social media frenzy—one with the power to frighten the public and hamper police investigations.” Waks has also been accused of leveraging his viral content to promote his FinTech start-up company, Foresyte, which he currently serves as co-founder and chief marketing officer. What is the cost of virality? Is it worth sacrificing one's morals or ethics?LA-based writer and content creator Meredith Lynch joins The Business Communicators to offer her insights into the controversy driven by Waks' investigation, his numerous brand plugs of Foresyte, and allegations that have surfaced on his since-deleted Twitter account that have racist, homophobic, and misogynistic undertones. The podcast further breaks down Foresyte, the company CEO Stephen Eddy's string of deleted DMs and LinkedIn posts boasting about Wak's TikTok exploits, and the Denver-based firm, Heinrich Marketing, who is providing $1 million in agency services (according to SEC filings) for the company. The show wraps by analyzing the actions brands must take when working with influencers, the dangers of cyber vigilantes, agency accountability, and lessons to be learned moving forward.Editor's Note: The Business Communicators made multiple attempts to reach Foresyte, Ken Waks, and Heinrich Marketing for comment. According to SEC filings, Heinrich Marketing is Foresyte's established marketing agency. Heinrich president and owner George Eddy is the lead investor. Lady Waks Exclusive TDJS Mix presented by The DJ Sessions 7/12/22 About Lady Waks - I am Alexandra, painter, graphic designer, graffiti artist and musician. In a word, an artist. Born in 1982 in Leningrad. I have been inseparable from drawing since early childhood: one day my parents sent me to an art school, which determined my whole future. Throughout my life, my work has changed, opened up from new sides, acquired unexpected forms, but fine art has definitely become my destiny. In the early 1990s, I moved to Germany, where I graduated from the private art school Freie Waldorfschule. There she met her first great creative "love" - street art. I became interested in them in Hannover, where I had the good fortune to work side by side with famous graffiti artists. For the next few years, I decorated the streets of different cities with my drawings, working under the pseudonym WAKS. I did not leave street art, and when I returned to my native St. Petersburg, I only changed my pseudonym to a mirror one - SKAW. By that time I had developed my own recognizable style, my graffiti began to appear more and more often on the pages of Western magazines and books devoted to contemporary art, such as Graffiti World by Nicholas Ganz. But I felt that within the framework of street art I was getting crowded, I needed to move on, expand my creative horizons. Therefore, I entered the University of Culture and Arts at the Faculty of Media Design. In the early 2000s, the next chapter of my creative life began - I became interested in music. She moved to Berlin again, went headlong into a new hobby: she wrote tracks under the third pseudonym LADY WAKS in her life. The next 10 years were basically one big tour with performances up to six times a week. But the love of painting and drawing has not gone away: I just redirected it into graphic design, creating numerous music covers, logos and posters. Later, my experience in this field allowed me to create my own creative design agency. In 2018 I returned to painting. Now I live and work in St. Petersburg. My style combines all my creative experience: it is a synthesis of academic skills acquired at the university, techniques from street art and graphic design. In general, it can be called abstract painting, which conveys my vision of the world, my feelings and emotions.   About The DJ Sessions - “The DJ Sessions” is a Twitch/Mixcloud "Featured Partner” live streaming/podcast series featuring electronic music DJ's/Producers via live mixes/interviews and streamed/distributed to a global audience. (Antipodes, 2016).

As marketers, we know that metrics are powerful tools. How do we choose the key performance indicators (KPI) that matter most for our company's target audience?  A SAS Marketing Leader, CMO/Consultant/Advisor at IrisVR, Alon Waks, discusses how to navigate KPIs and transition into outbound marketing.   Takeaways: “Payback is the number one KPI that I care about! This is the dollar in/dollar out pipeline.”~Alon Waks Have sales work accounts rather than individual leads. If you look at an enterprise mid-market it is rare that there is one contact with one buyer who is also the user. Every buying group should certainly constitute an account. Do not spray and pray! Strategically targeting a few accounts as opposed to 500 accounts is key to prioritizing efforts and winning more deals. While transitioning from inbound to outbound marketing, focus on these three key elements: 1) Change your internal terminology, 2) Have a pilot group that shows success, and 3) Look at ROI measurements. One to one is marketing and sales working together to make custom everything for an account. Personalize a video, event, merchandise, etc. Career advice: Do not wait to do professional development. Go and learn now while the market is down.   Links: LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/alonwaks/ Email: alonwaks@gmail.com   Busted Myths: Start with the KPIs that really matter. Demos and the amount of visitors coming to your website are great to look at, but they are secondary. Focus on the metrics that matter to your company. Do not go and buy an account based marketing tool before knowing what account based means for your company and the corresponding data that goes along with them.  Marketing can not do one to one at scale - One to one is relationship marketing which is a completely different approach.   Ways to Tune In: iTunes - https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-hard-corps-marketing-show/id1338838763 Spotify - https://open.spotify.com/show/1vVLpNI1LssMTiL6Kdsamn Stitcher - https://www.stitcher.com/podcast/the-hard-corps-marketing-show Google Play - https://play.google.com/music/m/Im7mytmu2wa2mekhoeixlja5hpe?t=The_Hard_Corps_Marketing_Show YouTube - Full video - https://youtu.be/nK8-6bpuHlg

Manny Waks (http://www.mannywaks.com/) presents his lecture "Who Gave You Permission? The Memoir of a Child Sexual-Abuse Survivor Who Fought Back" before an audience at Temple Chai (www.templechai.com/) in Phoenix, AZ. ABOUT THE LECTURE: Manny Waks was raised in an ultra-Orthodox Jewish family, the second oldest of 17 children. As an adolescent he was sexually abused at the religious school across the road from where he lived. Betrayed by those he trusted, Manny rebelled against his way of life, though he later went on to become a prominent Jewish community leader. In mid-2011 Manny went public about his experiences to bring justice to the abusers, and those who covered up their crimes. For his courage in speaking out, Manny and his family were intimidated and shunned by their community. Although he has been forced to leave Australia, Manny continues to advocate for survivors and hold those in power to account. This is the story of a man who shattered a powerful code of silence, the battles he has fought, the vindication he has earned, and the extraordinary toll it has taken on his personal life and that of his loved ones. It is also the raw self-portrait of a man on a mission, trying to live his life. Manny’s journey reminds us of the difference one man can make, and the price he has to pay. 5.25 trillion pieces of plastic reside in our oceans compared to the 400 billion stars in the Milky Way. That means we have 13 times more pieces of plastic in our oceans than stars in our galaxy. This startling fact is the first thing you see when you visit the Debris Free Oceans webpage, a not-for-profit organization established by locals, Caiti and Jeremy Waks. Their long-time love of the water and the growing trash problem inspired them in 2014 to get more involved as well as find a fun and engaging way to educate Miami about the damaging effects of plastic pollution. Debris Free Oceans focuses on the reductionist approach to motivate people to rethink disposable and single-use consumption by embracing lifestyles with more action and less clutter. To date, they have picked up over 23,000 pounds of plastics and have educated over 4,700 students in Miami-Dade County about plastic pollution and how to live zero-waste lifestyles.  Through fun events like Keg and Clean where you're rewarded with complimentary beer after cleaning up a neighborhood (as long as you bring your own cup), Debris Free Oceans has inspired a new way of thinking of sustainability.  And to get you started, they've created a zero-waste kit which consists of a reusable aluminum water bottle, reusable bamboo cutlery, and a compact reusable bag which can be purchased on their website. What You’ll Learn In This Episode: When and why plastics were invented Why plastics never really go away What you can do to reduce your waste/single use plastics How they created Debris Free Oceans What they do to bring awareness to zero waste and plastic pollution in Miami What you need to know about recycling What the city of Miami Beach is doing about single-use plastics and recycling The Florida plastic bag pre-emption law We hope you enjoy the conversation, Alex and Jeanette For behind the scenes photos, show notes and more visit www.plantedinmiami.com.
