Only a couple of days following his underwhelming showing in the inaugural 2024 debate against his rival, Donald Trump, President Joe Biden made his exit from Marine One in The Hamptons. This was on a Saturday afternoon; his wife, First Lady Jill Biden, was by his side, her arm held securely in his hand. A stern expression held firm on his face. An ostensibly in sync duo, distinguished by their coordinated blue suit attire, emerged from the Francis S. Gabreski Airport, Westhampton Beach. Even though there had been widespread clamoring for the chief executive's resignation prompted by his debate mishap, the bidens found themselves in Long Island. The purpose of their visit - an opulent fundraiser, meticulously organized within the four walls of the grand abode belonging to hedge-fund tycoon Barry Rosenstein and his spouse, Lizanne. Marking the first of two significant events that Saturday intended for raising donor funds. Amongst the elite that graced the event were Howard and Beth Stern, Loews Hotels' CEO Jonathan Tisch along with his wife Lizzie, and prior White House Director of Communications during the Trump administration, Anthony Scaramucci. The substantially affluent attendees were reportedly disheartened following Biden's lackluster debate performance that highlighted concerns regarding his cognitive wellbeing, as per a publication by the New York Post. An attendee was quoted explaining, 'People paid in advance… Giving them a golden chance to leverage this occasion and coax him into withdrawing'. Another donor expressed their frustration stating, 'I wanted to witness the disaster firsthand. Picking a name from the phone directory seems a better option than having Biden.'See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

“So many people view conducting as a reflection of the music, and if that works for them, that's great. I view conducting as a reflection of the movement. Undergrads aren't always predisposed to musical language, but they are already predisposed to the language that Laban uses: time, space, weight, flow. Instead of saying 'that's not marcato enough,' you could instead say 'that's not heavy enough' or ‘direct enough.' That's language that we're already familiar with as people.”Dr. Eric Rubinstein is Director of Choral Activities and Assistant Professor of Music at Nazareth University, where he directs the Chamber Singers and Treble Choir and teaches additional coursework in conducting and music education. Prior to his appointment at Nazareth, Dr. Rubinstein served as Assistant Professor of Choral Music Education at the Aaron Copland School of Music, Queens College (CUNY).Ensembles under his direction have been recognized across New York and New England for performances of the highest artistic caliber. Program highlights with the Nazareth Chamber Singers include a performance tour of Poland, a year-long partnership with Nazareth's Department of Theatre and Dance, and an invited performance at the 2023 NYSSMA Winter Conference. Dr. Rubinstein led the Queens College Treble Choir to invited performances at the 2022 ACDA Eastern Division Conference in Boston, MA and as the demonstration choir for the 2019 NYSSMA Winter Conference conducting masterclass. The Treble Choir was also honored in 2022 by The American Prize. As a secondary school choral director, Dr. Rubinstein amassed a decade of high school teaching in Monticello and Westhampton Beach, NY, where he concurrently served on the music education faculty at CUNY Brooklyn College. Under his direction, the choirs were honored to perform at Carnegie Hall, Chautauqua Institute, and abroad, and were featured at the 2015 NY-ACDA Conference at the Eastman School of Music. Dr. Rubinstein has also served on the artistic faculty for the New York State Summer School of the Arts, and remains active as a guest conductor, clinician, and adjudicator for various choral festivals and conferences.Dr. Rubinstein is a member of NAfME and ACDA, where he also serves as a New York- ACDA Repertoire & Resources co-chair for LGBTQIA+ Choral Music. If your legal knowledge is limited to "Better Call Saul", or even "Law and Order", and you're curious whether either of those are remotely accurate, you might want to check this one out. As a Former Prosecutor, Public (and private) Defender, as well as a practitioner of all aspects of the law (including real estate!), it's hard to think of a person better equipped to teach me about the inner workings of the criminal justice system. Curious about the hullabaloo over Bail Reform? We cover that in depth. Thinking of mounting an insanity plea? Better listen here first. Is it true only guilty parties plead guilty? We dig into this one as well. So tune into this one and you may learn a lot more than, like me, you thought you already knew based on the television shows. Only one caveat, though (see what I did there?): you might want to fact check him on Westhampton Beach surfing history!

Author Ken McGorry, author of the new thriller, "Ghost Hampton" joins the show! Ken will share his journey as an author, and the story behind his latest novel! Ken McGorry's fiction features surprising comic relief amid often tense dramatic scenes, as readers of his novels Smashed and Ghost Hampton know. Ken's novels unfold in the here-and-now present tense; their cinematic point of view owes a lot to his years toiling at scriptwriting. Readers praise Ghost Hampton's energy level, realism and its balance of action and paranormal suspense. They enjoy Ghost Hampton's characters, their believability and humanity and how they interact. Ken is also known for his 20-plus years as an editor of the professional film-and-TV-production monthly Post. While he loves the many real characters he got to know in that industry, Ken got hooked on creating his own a few years ago. Television production comes to the fore in Ghost Hampton in a climactic scene Ken calls “a Jerry Springer event.” Ken lives with his wife and dogs on Long Island. They have two strapping sons. And they have a little summer place in Westhampton Beach. It's not far from an old house rumored to have been a brothel long ago, and haunted today.
