If Trump actually blows that growth tonight he's cooked. And we will either have a debate right after the Supreme Court rules on this Trumpian "Presidential Immunity" nonsense, or the night before it. It becomes a simple, tangible truth that if the Court invents this immunity and declares this nation a monarchy, the king won't be Trump but Biden and he can take any steps he wants without fear of consequence. It's kind of hard to believe but it is literally true that if SCOTUS creates immunity today, Biden could have arrest Trump tonight - during the debate. Introduction Howard has just retired after more than 48 years as a an award-winning broadcaster, journalist and business continuity professional. He last served as an assignment editor at WNBC -TV in New York, following a nearly 37-year career at WABC-TV, ABC News, ABC Television and The Walt Disney Company. Howard is a two-time EMMY Award winner, and twice shared the George Foster Peabody Award for his contributions to ABC News coverage. He also shared the DuPont Award for his contributions to WNBC's coverage of the COVID pandemic. He has worked domestically and internationally as a news producer, assignment editor, bureau chief, reporter and anchor, covering some of the biggest stories of our time, including the 9/11 attacks, the 2003 Northeast blackout and Superstorm Sandy. A certified business continuity professional (CBCP), Howard was charged with maintaining the operational resilience of all ABC News & Television platforms around the globe, and later served Disney as a senior manager of business continuity. He also served as an in-house resilience consultant to the ABC Owned Television Station Group. Howard holds a bachelor's degree in journalism from Northwestern University, and an MBA in management and marketing from New York University. Viewership of early NBC broadcasts was tightly restricted to those authorized by the company, whose installed set base eventually reached about 200. Technical standards for television broadcasting were in flux as well. Between the time experimental transmissions began in 1935 and the beginning of commercial television service in 1941, picture definition increased from 343 to 441 lines, and finally (in 1941) to the 525-line standard used for analog television from the start of full commercial service until the end of analog broadcasts in mid-2009. The sound signal was also changed from AM to FM, and the spacing of sound and vision carriers was also changed several times. Shortly after NBC began a semi-regular television transmission schedule in 1938, DuMont Laboratories announced TV sets for sale to the public, a move that RCA was saving for the opening of the World's Fair on April 30, 1939, the day that regularly scheduled television programming was to begin in New York on NBC with much fanfare. In response, NBC ceased all TV broadcasting for several weeks until RCA sets went on sale; regular NBC telecasts commenced the day the fair opened.

What is now WNBC traces its history to experimental station W2XBS, founded by the Radio Corporation of America (RCA, a co-founder of the National Broadcasting Company), in 1928, just two years after NBC was founded as the first nationwide radio network. Originally a test bed for the experimental RCA Photophone theater television system, W2XBS used the low-definition mechanical television scanning system. Later it was used mostly for reception and interference tests. The call letters W2XBS meant W2XB-south, with W2XB being the call letters of the first experimental station, started a few months earlier at General Electric's (GE) main factory in Schenectady, New York, which evolved into today's WRGB. GE was the parent company of both RCA and NBC, and technical research was done at the Schenectady plant.

WNBC (channel 4) is a television station in New York City that serves as the flagship of the NBC network. It is owned and operated by the network's NBC Owned Television Stations division alongside Linden, New Jersey–licensed Telemundo station WNJU (channel 47). WNBC's studios and offices are co-located with NBC's corporate headquarters at 30 Rockefeller Plaza in Midtown Manhattan; WNJU's facilities in Fort Lee, New Jersey, also serve as WNBC's New Jersey news bureau. Through a channel sharing agreement with WNJU, the two stations transmit using WNJU's spectrum from an antenna atop One World Trade Center. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) Did Nigerian gov't exchange hostages for Muslim terrorists? On October 5th, the remaining 23 hostages kidnapped earlier this year from a train by the Islamic militant group Boko Haram were released to the Nigerian military, reports International Christian Concern. The prisoners were in the custody of the terror group for over six months. The attack took place on March 28 of this year, when Boko Haram militants ambushed the passenger train traveling from Abuja to Kaduna and took dozens of captives.  On October 8, a news blast from some unidentified investigative journalists began circling around WhatsApp groups, alleging that 101 Boko Haram terrorists that had been imprisoned since 2009 had just been released by the Nigerian government. It was also alleged that the Nigerian government granted the released Boko Haram terrorist amnesty. The news blast insinuated that the militants were released by the Nigerian government in exchange for the train hostages. The Nigerian government has denied that a swap occurred. The Nigerian government appears to be circumventing their very purpose as outlined in Romans 13:4. It says, “For the one in authority is God's servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for rulers do not bear the sword for no reason. They are God's servants, agents of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer.” Bannon gets 4 months behind bars for defying Jan. 6th subpoena Steve Bannon, a longtime ally of former President Donald Trump, was sentenced Friday to serve four months behind bars after defying a subpoena from the House committee investigating the January 6th timeline at the U.S. Capitol, reports The Associated Press. U.S. District Judge Carl Nichols allowed Bannon to stay free pending appeal, a potentially lengthy process, and also imposed a fine of $6,500 as part of the sentence. Bannon was convicted in July of two counts of contempt of Congress: one for refusing to sit for a deposition and the other for refusing to provide documents Nichols handed down the sentence after saying the law was clear that contempt of Congress is subject to a mandatory minimum sentence of at least one month behind bars. Bannon's lawyers had argued the judge could have sentenced him to probation instead. Prosecutors had asked for Bannon to be sent to jail for six months. Judge refuses to block bill banning sexual content in Florida's classrooms Last Thursday, a federal judge sided with Florida Republican Governor Ron DeSantis, opting to toss out a challenge to the state's law prohibiting sexual content in school curricula for young children, reports LifeSiteNews.com. Orlando-based U.S. District Judge Wendy Berger, a Trump appointee, handed down the 28-page decision on October 20, denying a request for a preliminary injunction against Florida's Parental Rights in Education Act. Plaintiffs in the case had argued the law was intended to advance discrimination and could lead to the bullying of children with confused “gender identities.” However, Berger noted that the “[p]laintiffs have not pointed this court to any policy or procedure …that they allege has resulted in an increase in bullying.” 12,000 fentanyl pills disguised as candy seized at LAX Parents are advised to be extra vigilant this year in checking what their children bring home on Halloween after agents in Los Angeles seized around 12,000 fentanyl pills packaged in several bags of candy, the latest incident of the deadly drug being disguised as something innocuous, reports The Christian Post. According to a statement from Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, a suspect carrying packages of fentanyl pills attempted to go through a TSA screening at Los Angeles International Airport on Wednesday, trying to sneak past screening and board a plane. Unbelievably, the deadly pills were inside what appeared to be regular packages of Sweetarts, Skittles, and Whoppers. If you insist on passing out candy, at least include some creative Christian tracts from Living Waters Ministry. 13-year-old dies after jumping in front of SUV to save sister And finally, a teenager in Long Island, New York, died earlier this month after reportedly jumping in front of an oncoming SUV, driving with no lights on, to save his sister's life, reports FaithWire.com. Tyler Phillips, who died just days after his 13th birthday, is being hailed a hero by friends and loved ones who are mourning such a monumental loss. The accident unfolded on October 12th, when he and his sister, Krystal, also 13, were walking back from a park after dark at 7:30p.m. to a shelter, where they were living with their single mother. A family friend, Steffani Campbell, said she witnessed the horror unfold as the Chevrolet Equinox hit the children, according to WNBC-TV. CAMPBELL: “The car hit her first and then ended up like I guess he wants to go jump and grab her and it just took him. She said she watched him fly into the middle out of the street. She pulled him out the street. She called the ambulance. They told her to give him CPR, and that was it.” Tyler's mother described his injuries. MOM: “They tried to resuscitate him in the ambulance. He was gone for 30 minutes. They took him to Stony Brook Hospital. His vertebrae and his skull got separated. He has no brain function. He's gone.” To make matters worse, the SUV driver left the scene and is still at large. Speaking of her brother, Krystal said this. KYSTAL: “He saved my life.” And Tyler's mother praised him. MOM: “He's a hero. Recent New York Sports Emmy Winner John Chandler joined this week's episode. Chandler is NBC 4 New York's weekend sports anchor, seen regularly on Fridays and Saturdays at 6 PM and 11 PM. He is a weekday sports and general assignment reporter. He has won multiple Emmy Awards. During the episode, Chandler speaks about his approach to a nightly sportscast in a market like New York, which has 11 professional franchises. He also discussed how the pandemic has impacted sports coverage, and how viewership of nightly newscasts has changed and even diminished over the years. Neighbors of a New Jersey dog treat factory are fed up with its smell.An Aug. 11 report from WNBC-TV detailed complaints from residents in Neptune City, New Jersey, about a Nylabone plant on the Jersey Shore.“What I smell is like a rotting, dog food-like excrement smell,” one neighbor told the news station. Said another: “It's nauseating. Instant headaches until, like, you're nauseous.”The factory has been next door to the neighborhood for decades, but smell complaints didn't ramp up until dog treat production was recently consolidated there.Nylabone President Glen Axelrod said, "Are we going to be able to solve it 100%? No, and I never promised 100% ... 100% is not realistically achievable, so I wouldn't promise something that's not achievable.”Axelrod said the company recently spent over $2 million on odor abatement, charcoal filters and other improvements. He added that what residents are smelling is non-toxic and simply the process of making dog treats.“If it were a bakery, you'd be smelling baked food; if we were a steakhouse, you'd be smelling steak," he said.WNBC said it's not clear what legal steps residents can take against the factory, though they are talking with an attorney.

If you are a fan of ska music or pop culture, you have undoubtedly seen the video for or heard the song "Jesus Is A Friend Of Mine" by the Brooklyn, NY-based Catholic band Sonseed featuring Sal Polichetti on bass.  Sonseed built a following playing shows at Churches around Brooklyn in the late 70s and early 80s.  Hearing "Too Much Pressure" by The Selecter on the radio inspired Sal to write the song.  More than 25 years after the song was recorded, a video of the band performing it on WNBC-TV in 1981 surfaced online and things have never been the same!  The song has appeared on popular TV shows "Community" and "Glee."  Since then, Sal has performed the song at the Specialized ska festival in the UK which is how I met him when my band Rude Boy George backed him.

He moved on to Chrysler Corp. in 1978 and became the CEO a year later, pulling the company out of bankruptcy after taking it over. Iacocca successfully persuaded the federal government to provide the company a $1.2 billion loan in 1979 and made major cuts to the workforce, slashing wages -- including his own, which he shrunk to $1 a year -- and closing plants. The photographer has captured a slew of other awards as well, and he was just named this year's NPPA Photographer of the Year for the East Top region -- an extraordinary honor in what he calls "a dogfight" of a competition. But what most impresses me about DelGiudice is not his award count but his location. He has achieved this type of success, and preached the gospel of storytelling, in the largest market in the country: New York City. The Big Apple has a reputation for wanting the hardest of news; its stations fly through their newscasts, rarely staying on one story for very long. But within those parameters, DelGiudice -- along with the reporters who work alongside him -- has developed his own reputation as a photographer who finds humanity in his subjects.
