In this eye-opening conversation, join host Rajiv Parikh as he unveils Arena AI – their revolutionary platform that's transforming how marketing campaigns are planned, executed, and optimized. Sajjan Kanukolanu (VP of Global Operations) and Vikrant V.(CTO) walk us through how their team has embedded 20 years of marketing expertise into a system that combines project management, unified analytics, and AI agents that execute real marketing work.• Arena includes project management specifically designed for marketing workflows• The Calibrate interface provides unified dashboards pulling data from 130+ platforms• RPA technology connects even to custom platforms without APIs• AI co-pilot powered by multiple agents that execute specific marketing tasks• Built on what Position Squared calls their "Growth Language Model"• Platform incorporates 20 years of industry-specific marketing expertise• System provides 95% accurate predictive analytics using LSTM neural networks• Campaign strategies incorporate industry data and competitor analysis• Human oversight remains crucial at decision points for optimal results• AI agents work together to handle everything from ICPs to ad creationThe marketing technology landscape has exploded with specialized tools, leaving marketers buried under mountains of disconnected data and endless manual tasks. What if there was a way to harness artificial intelligence not just for insights, but to actually do the work? The most fascinating aspect of Arena isn't just its ability to connect data from hundreds of platforms (even proprietary ones without APIs), but how it deploys specialized AI agents to handle specific marketing tasks. Unlike generic AI tools that provide broad recommendations, Arena's Growth Language Model understands the nuances of different industries and buyer personas, delivering highly targeted strategies that have historically driven results. What makes this conversation particularly valuable is how openly the team discusses their journey from service provider to software company. Their practical approach demonstrates that effective AI implementation isn't about theoretical capabilities, but about solving real problems that marketers face daily.Sajjan Kanukolanu: https://www.linkedin.com/in/sajjank/Sajjan serves as Vice President of Global Operations & Strategy at Position². Send us a textVectors are the unsung heroes of cell and gene therapy—molecular couriers that transport therapeutic genes into human cells to treat disease. But as Alan Griffith, Head of Global Operations at Vector Builder reveals, creating these sophisticated delivery vehicles is far more complex than most realize.Drawing from over a decade of experience developing gene therapies before joining the CDMO sector, Griffith offers rare insight into what makes manufacturing these therapies so challenging. Vector design emerges as the critical yet underappreciated factor determining success or failure. "The fundamental sequence and vector composition itself is so fundamental to manufacturability," Griffith explains, noting how seemingly minor elements can dramatically impact production at scale. This knowledge has evolved painfully over the past decade, with clinical holds and manufacturing failures teaching hard lessons. The relationship between therapy developers and contract manufacturers proves equally crucial. Rather than transactional exchanges, successful partnerships require deep collaboration and shared risk. "Working with a CDMO is like dancing with someone you don't know," Griffith observes, emphasizing how Vector Builder aims to understand diseases and vector compositions thoroughly rather than simply executing manufacturing orders.Cost remains perhaps the greatest challenge facing cell and gene therapies. While small molecule drugs might be considered expensive at $10,000 per dose, that figure would be remarkably affordable for gene therapies. Strategies to address this include better vector design to reduce manufacturing failures, more targeted delivery requiring smaller doses, and challenging the "one-and-done" assumption that has proven more complex in reality as expression often diminishes over time.Looking ahead, Griffith sees complementary roles for both viral vectors and emerging non-viral delivery systems like lipid nanoparticles and exosomes. He predicts viral vectors will continue to dominate certain applications for decades due to their unmatched effectiveness, while non-viral approaches may offer manufacturing advantages and potentially lower costs.Cell and gene therapies are revolutionary treatments with vectors serving as "molecular couriers" that deliver genetic materials to target cells, but manufacturing these therapies presents significant challenges in scaling, cost, and regulatory compliance.________Reach out to Ivanna RosendalJoin the conversation on our LinkedIn page

On the latest episode of Beyond the Numbers by Weaver, host Vince Houk, Partner-in-Charge, International Tax Services at Weaver, delves deep into the world of strategic transfer pricing and how businesses can use it to their advantage. Joining him is Josh Finfrock, Director, Transfer Pricing Services at Weaver, an expert with a wealth of knowledge in the field. Key Points: One overlooked opportunity in utilizing FDII is to analyze the expense allocation with GNA expenses and allocate accordingly based on genuine benefit, which can help derive a better benefit. Other opportunities include looking at services provided by the U.S. company that may qualify for the FDII benefit and reviewing the IP structure to potentially move IP into the U.S. The U.S. provides a jurisdiction with substance, a good treaty network, and potentially lower tax rates compared to other countries, making it an attractive option for IP ownership and maintaining key operations. How can firms shift their perception and utilize transfer pricing as an asset rather than a burden? And what lies beyond the surface of transfer pricing, and how can businesses harness its potential to enhance their global operations? Clients often overlook how strategic transfer pricing can be and how it can be a tax saver and assist in cash management efficiency. For example, there is cash repatriation leakage that can be planned around with transfer pricing. Rate differentials between countries can be another challenge that transfer pricing adjustments can help save. Finfrock stated, “If we can do a strategic transfer pricing review with the company, we're going to come in and be able to look at, get a holistic view of the company, the global structure, understand where all the moving pieces are. That way, then we really know where those levers are, what our range of outcomes can be in different places, and then we can find those opportunities for savings.” Subscribe and listen to future episodes of Beyond the Numbers on Apple Podcasts or Spotify. ©2023
Jentic, an artificial intelligence startup building the integration layer for AI, has announced it has raised €4 million in pre-seed funding. The round was led by Elkstone with additional participation from Sure Valley Ventures, TechOperators, and Shuttle. Many notable technology founders and leaders also joined the round as angel investors. The funding will be used to expand the team, accelerate product development, and bring an integration layer for AI to market. Founded in late 2024, Jentic is a communication middleware layer for AI agents, which enables developers and organisations to easily hook their AI agents up to other systems, and manage and control their communication. It aims to be the platform that unites the expanding ecosystem of AI agents, from those offered by tech giants to bespoke agents created by in-house teams. Over the past few years, the AI sector has experienced unprecedented growth, driven by rapid innovation and a surge in investment. An AI agent is a software program that uses AI to plan how to accomplish goals and tasks, and performs the steps in that plan by connecting to other software systems. An agent is like a "self-driving" computer program, which has its goal set by a human user, but performs all the necessary actions itself. Jentic is focusing on the connection layer between agents and all other software, increasing agent capability, maximising reliability and helping organisations monitor and manage large-scale AI deployments. Jentic is founded by an experienced team of tech entrepreneurs, including CEO Sean Blanchfield, former co-founder of PageFair (acquired by Blockthrough) and DemonWare (acquired by Activision Blizzard), COO Dorothy Creaven, former Managing Director at Rent The Runway and co-founder of Element Wave, Michael Cordner, co-founder of Mindconnex, and Dr. Tilman Schaefer, a founding team member at DemonWare. "We're building critical infrastructure to enable developers to easily and securely hook their AI systems up to the world's APIs,"said Sean Blanchfield, co-founder and CEO of Jentic. "This is the future of automation, and it needs a new kind of integration layer to manage the unique complexity, reliability and security issues that arise when AI becomes highly connected. We have a strong history of building category-leading middleware, and this funding will allow us to quickly expand our world-class team, match the tremendous pace of AI development, and deliver a platform that empowers developers and organisations to deploy sophisticated AI with confidence." For developers, Jentic streamlines API integration for AI agents, automatically matching them with optimal tools as they execute tasks. For executives, it provides centralised oversight of agent operations across the organisation, enabling monitoring, security management, and access control. "At Elkstone, we are committed to backing ground-breaking startups capable of transforming industries," said Niall McEvoy, Head of Venture at Elkstone. "Jentic's clear vision to establish a universal AI integration layer aligns perfectly with our mission to drive technological innovation. Backing experienced serial founders with a clear global market opportunity underpins why Elkstone is leading this funding round, and we are enthusiastic to support Jentic's growth." Several experienced tech leaders sit on Jentic's board of advisors including Steven Collins (CTO of Unity, former CTO of King, co-founder of Havok and Swrve), Patricia Scanlon (Ireland's AI Ambassador and founder/former CEO of Soapbox Labs, acquired in 2023 by Curriculum Associates), Colm Long (former VP of Global Operations at Facebook and Director of Operations at Google, previously COO at Tines), Fergal Reid (VP of AI at Intercom) and Mark Cummins (former founder/CEO of Pointy and Plink, which were respectively acquired in 2010 and 2020 by Google). In this episode of NucleCast, Adam interviews Brigadier General Retired Greg Bowen about hedging in nuclear conflicts. In the world of social entrepreneurship, few stories are as compelling and full of teachable moments as Scott Beale's story. Recently, we had the pleasure of hosting Scott on our Outside Insights podcast, where he shared his personal journey from an aspiring changemaker to a global leader in fostering youth leadership and international volunteerism. Scott, who grew up in a family of educators, had his eyes opened to the world's inequities while volunteering in Bosnia at age 20. This experience led him to found Atlas Corps in 2005, an innovative program often described as a “reverse Peace Corps.” The mission of Atlas Corps is to address critical social issues by developing leaders and strengthening organizations through training programs and a global alumni community of skilled social change professionals. I strongly encourage you to learn more about their mission here. Building Atlas Corps from the ground up was not easy. Scott faced plenty of skepticism from others along the way. But he persisted, fueled by the belief that positive change is possible when you refuse to accept the status quo. “People often fear that…when you choose to believe that change is possible, you then become responsible for making change. It's much easier to accept you have no power than to try to change the world.”-Scott Beale Now, Scott's journey has led him to his current position as the U.S. Peace Corps' Associate Director for Global Operations. In this role, Scott continues to advocate for international service. On this episode of Outside Insights, he shares personal reflections that I really connected with, as he emphasized the importance of enjoying the journey rather than fixating on the destination. Scott and I have been loosely connected via family connections over the last many years, and I watched from afar as Scott built Atlas Corps from scratch. Over time, I began to understand his mission and see his impressive outcomes and impact. This is a classic story of an entrepreneur finding a gap in the marketplace and filling it with a passionate solution. Scott's advice to our listeners is simple yet profound: seize any opportunity to make a difference. The road may be unpredictable, but it is rewarding. His story is a powerful call to action—be bold, embrace the journey, and use your potential to transform the world. If you're inspired to create change, remember Scott's words and take those first steps towards a better future. Do you have a “crazy” idea that has the potential to make a big impact? It doesn't have to change the world to be profound – it could change one life, or even just change your life. Reply to this email and let me know. Until next time friends,Chris

This week, gear up for an episode packed with insight and excitement! Our guest Luciano Miranda, Vice President of Analytics and Insights for Global Operations and Supply Chain at Medtronic, took us on quite a ride this week. His globally dispersed team helps inform critical decisions across Medtronic's far-reaching supply chain using the power of data. What began as a scrappy five-person team doing their best in Excel has blossomed into an analytics powerhouse delivering insights that assist over 90,000 Medtronic employees. But it wasn't easy getting there. From adopting new technologies to overcoming changes in organizational structure, Luciano kept his focus squarely on delivering value to stakeholders. By putting relationships before process and always taking the “learner path” over the “judger path,” he turned obstacles into opportunities for growth. The future holds even more change as AI promises to amplify our capabilities. But Luciano sees a bright future where these technologies enhance the power of dashboards and the insight of analysts. He chooses to ride the waves of change rather than be overcome by them. The human element still reigns supreme.
