Today, we are pleased to speak with Matthew (Matt) Stafford, CEO of Build Grow Scale, who is tasked to share his client's horror story for our 59th episode. Straight out of college, Matt established a brick-and-mortar commercial concrete business which exponentially grew over the years. They've managed to build many Lowe's, Costcos, and other buildings for big-name companies all over the country, traveling 200 days per year to complete every order and work on every demand for their capabilities. Between 2007 and 2010, America was faced with a multinational financial mortgage crisis, which led to a severe economic recession, with millions losing their jobs and many businesses going bankrupt. Sadly, in 2009, what once was a bustling business turned into a blazing horror show for Matt. Large contractors came into big developments, and Matt and his company were never paid for their work. To top it all off, they got sued by their subcontractor who did their curb work. Things immediately started to pile up, and despite a long 10-year battle of settling all of their accounts, Matt ended up losing half a million dollars as well as his love for the job. Start with Cart and Checkout OptimisationMatthew Stafford emphasises the importance of beginning with the cart and checkout process when optimising your ecommerce site. By enhancing these areas first, you ensure that any improvements made elsewhere on the site directly contribute to increased revenue. This approach prioritises revenue optimisation over mere conversion rate improvements.2. Use Unique Colours for Call-to-Action ButtonsStafford advises using a distinct colour for call-to-action buttons that stands out from the rest of the site's theme. This makes it clear to customers what the next step is, thereby improving the user experience and boosting conversions. The focus should be on clarity and visibility rather than adhering to a specific colour scheme.3. Leverage Customer Feedback on the Thank You PageImplement a pop-up on the thank you page asking customers, "What was the one thing that almost made you not buy?" This feedback is invaluable for identifying and addressing potential issues in the purchasing process. Stafford notes that some of their top improvements have come from insights gained through this simple question.---If this episode of the eCommerce Podcast piqued your interest make sure to check out everything that gets done over here on the eCommerce Podcast, a space dedicated to eCommerce Wow!

He also advocates for simplicity and understanding customer needs to build trust and drive sales. --- "Homer Simpson" your Website with Matt Stafford Good day, dear listeners, Steve Preda here with the Management Blueprint podcast, and my guest today is Matthew Stafford, CEO of Build Grow Scale, a community where e-commerce entrepreneurs and physical product sellers come to learn how to take their businesses to the next level. Matt, welcome to the show. Thank you for having me. I'm excited to be here. So, Matt, let's start with the first question is what is your personal why? So why do you do what you do and how is your business connected to your personal why? Yeah, I would say that I get a lot of fulfillment out of helping business owners win. I understand, you know, that's been the way that I've accomplished the things that I want to do. And by helping others win, I get a lot of energy from that. And I just realized how hard it is. And so I commend business owners for being in the trenches and doing that. I know me personally, I got a lot of fulfillment out of it because it was the one area of my life that I got a lot of praise. And now that I can actually help other people succeed at it, I enjoy that. Okay, what you do is the conversion rate optimization, I think it's called. And what I read on your website, it really struck me, you saying that it's not that you don't have enough traffic, but you're not converting enough. So that really got my attention. So tell us a little bit about what that means. Is this really true that people already have enough traffic and why are they not converting? Yeah, so the average on e-commerce, and we'll use that one to start with, the average conversion rate is just over 2%. So that means for every 100 visitors, about 2 people buy on average. So that means you had 98 people that clicked on an ad or searched for you, found your website, and then when they got there, it didn't close the sale. And most people think, okay, then I need to go get another a hundred visitors so that I can make two more sales. And my thought process was how about the 98 people that left? How about we convert a couple more of them two, three more of them that already raised their hand and said that they were interested in what we do, or we're looking for a solution rather than buy more traffic. And if we do that, then we've already doubled the business. So why not the traffic that we're already getting, close more of them. And then once we do that, if we're getting four or five out of a hundred and our competitors are only getting two or a little over two, we're actually a lot more profitable and we can go dominate our market. And so that was really why I thought, hey, let's make the website work better because we have our own websites too and physical products. And when we did that, the profit was so much more and so much more exponentially because we were already at our break even. So now capturing more from the same traffic made it easy for us to go out and buy more. Yeah, I guess if you're selling specimen products with the same ad spend, then your ads become much more profitable and then you can spend more on ads and then you outspend other people and then you can dominate. Yeah. Makes perfect sense. So you did share with me, and it was very timely because I was just about to launch our new website and you shared me what we call the Quick Wins F...

Welcome to another episode of The HERO Show. I am your host Richard Matthews, (@AKATheAlchemist) and you are listening to episode 202 with Tanner Larsson – MECH.GAME: A Raising Standard of NFT's & Blockchain Gaming. Tanner Larsson was the CEO of https://buildgrowscale.com/ (Build Grow Scale), which is one of the biggest and best ecom training companies in the world. Just recently, Tanner stepped down as the CEO of BGS to pursue a crypto-based gaming project called https://mech.game/ (MECH.GAME)—a game-ready mechanized 3D NFT's. Here's just a taste of what we talked about today:What NFT (Non Fungible Token) Does? The best way to describe NFT or Non-Fungible Token is, if you have a quarter in your hand, I have a quarter in my hand, and we put them on the table, and I mix them up and cover them up. Can you identify your token? The answer is No, because they're fungible, meaning they're interchangeable as the same. NFT is non-fungible token. So what we did was we took that currency, and we wrote, Tanner's quarter and Richards's quarter on it. Then we mix them up, do you know which one's yours? Of course, you do, because it has your serial number on it.  The NFT technology, at the most basic level, is a way to put a serial number on digital stuff. You can use it in insurance, business, applications, art, etc. MECH.GAME Gameplay With https://mech.game/ (MECH.GAME) you'll have a hero character that runs around the map that you control. We made the game more fun by building in a strategic element where you have to mine resources in the games to have a little bit of that strategy aspect, those resources are used to build your towers, and repair your towers in the level. The game is a top-down Tower Defense-style with a hero character as your Mech. All of those, the Mech and the stronghold are the main NFT's that you own. They're upgradable, they earn experience, and they have game stats that can be improved, like health, battle, power, energy, all those kinds of things. And when you upgrade them, that reports to the blockchain and stores that data. Other Topics We Covered on the Show:The difference between playing video games and NFT games. Tanner also shared the things that they are going to help solve in the marketplace by building MECH.GAME. Then, Tanner discussed who are their target gamers for MECH.GAME. Next, Tanner talked about MECH.GAME's gameplay for a new players and an experienced players.  Tanner shared MECH.GAME'S targeting platform and its target release date. We also talked about some of the ways on how the game gain the market share to be a mover and shaker in the space. And then, Tanner discussed how would people buy their Mechs.
