We created our own because there was just, there was a lot of fluff and a lot of these newsletters and things that didn't matter to us as a business and to, I think the larger industry. Up along the East coast, there has been four developers submitting bids for a total of a little over six gigawatts of offshore wind. Along the sort of Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, offshore area. The bidders were Avangrid Ørsted, South Coast Wind Energy, and Vineyard Offshore. Back in late last year Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Massachusetts had signed a MOU to collaborate together on offshore wind procurement, because they were all doing it separately and competing against one another, and they all had slightly different wording and contracts, and it made all the bidders confused and upset about it. So they decided to combine them. Finally, the Massachusetts is looking for about 3. 6 gigawatts, Rhode Island about 1. 2, and Connecticut is headed for about 2 gigawatts. So Massachusetts received bids from Avangrid, South Coast Wind Energy, and Vineyard Offshore. And the final decisions on project will be decided in August, which seems like an eternity, everybody. Rhode Island will evaluate proposals from all four bidders with a decision expected in about three months. Makes a little more sense.

Nanomaterials that could create, detect and manipulate light – that's what we're going to talk about today. It may sound like a sci-fi movie, but these so-called ‘optical materials' are widely used in our daily lives. Think about the nanocrystals used to emit bright and life-like colours in our TV displays, or luminous materials in invisible inks used to mark barrels of oils for tax accounting purposes, and even materials that light up to allow researchers to view the vascular structure in our bodies. Founded in 2018, our guest Nanolumi is an advanced materials company that uses cutting edge chemistries to provide nanocrystals and invisible inks I mentioned earlier. Aside from that, such light emitting materials can also be used to track goods such as automotive parts and electronics throughout their supply chain and prevent counterfeit goods. But how does this work exactly, and how much money does this represent for Nanolumi? On Under the Radar, Drive Time's finance presenter Chua Tian Tian posed these questions to Jax Lee, CEO, Nanolumi.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

The bunkering industry is on the precipice of massive change as the broader maritime industry undergoes decarbonisation. How ready is the bunkering sector for this change, and what do owners and operators need to be on the lookout for when it comes to procuring alternative fuels?Speaking with Seatrade Maritime News Europe Editor Gary Howard, Sandi Ennor, CEO, Transparensea Fuels discusses the progress the bunkering sector needs to make to enable better decisions by customers today, and to enable future availability of alternative fuels. As President of the Connecticut Maritime Association, Sandi takes a look ahead at CMA Shipping 2023 and picks a few of her highlights from the event and conference programme.
Bunkering and doomsday prepping, far from being eccentric or fringe activities, are baked into U.S. politics. So argues Emily Ray, who describes how Americans have been encouraged, by both Cold War administrations and today's political elites, to think of doomsday preparation as an individual rather than collective endeavor, one that involves looking to the market for solutions. (Encore presentation.) The post Preparing for Disaster appeared first on KPFA.
In this latest episode of the Seatrade Maritime Podcast, we discuss the commercial and operational benefits of bunker planning tools with Christian Plum, Head of Bunker Product at StormGeo.Bunkering has become a more complicated area of the industry over the past decade with the introduction of new fuels and fuel grades, a trend set to continue as the industry looks ahead at a multi-fuel future to meet zero carbon targets.Christian explains the myriad factors affecting bunker procurement decisions as well as the regulatory compliance burden involved in bunkering. As complexity continues to increase, Christian explains how planning tools can help enable better decision in bunkering, bringing cost and emissions advantages. We also take a quick look at what the future may hold for StormGeo's bunker offerings as the dust settles on StormGeo's acquisition of BunkerMetric and Alfa Laval's acquisition of StormGeo.
Bryan Matthews, Brian Stultz, Caleb Jones, Henry Patton and Jay G. Tate reconvene for a show centered around new athletic director John Cohen's introductory press conference. The guy clearly has a plan for finding the Tigers' new football coach — and for the path Auburn athletics will travel during these next few years. What do Cohen's comments about the search indicate about who he wants? Is he the guy to finally build a consensus among Important People? IN OTHER NEWS, Carnell Williams has been a revelation at interim head coach. He brought remarkable fire and passion to the Tigers' sideline last week at Mississippi State. Can he bring the same intensity, and create the same effect, against Texas A&M this weekend? One thing is for sure: Seeing Carnell serve as head coach on the same field where he once dominated in uniform will be special. Henry and B-Matt also break down the Fightin' Pearls' first win of the season ... over George Mason. The show ends with an array of shoutouts. It was a big week of Bunkering. The show is presented by VooDoo Wing Company with locations in Auburn, Mobile, Tuscaloosa and Las Vegas. Check them out IN PERSON for delicious chicken or on the web at www.voodoowingco.com.
Bryan Matthews, Brian Stultz, Caleb Jones, Henry Patton and Jay G. Tate reconvene for a show centered around Bryan Harsin's ouster — and the Boise State guys who were fired along with him. It was quite a day on the Plains. Why did Harsin fail so spectacularly? Can Auburn learn from this? Can interim coach Carnell Williams spawn some meaningful improvement during these final four games? IN OTHER NEWS, Auburn also hired a new athletic director. It's John Cohen from Mississippi State. What can we hope for him to accomplish when it comes to this coaching search he now finds himself capitvated by? Not many topics today, but a lot to say. The show ends with a cornucopia of shoutouts. It was a tremendous week of Bunkering.
Tate reconvene for a show centered around Bryan Harsin's relatively upbeat press conference Monday — and his team's realtively difficult task ahead. Arkansas is an excellent rushing team. Auburn's rush defense isn't great. Can Jeff "Schmeddy" Schmedding develop a way to coax better assignment comprehension and execution from his front-line defenders? Also, why is President Roberts so willing to let the next athletic director make the call on Harsin? Will that person have enough time to make an informed decision before nut-cutting time in early December? Caleb breaks down the latest in recruiting including another trip on tap from the Carver Wolverines — Qua Russaw and James Smith. Plus a chat about Jeremiah Cobb's recent offer from the Georgia Bulldogs. Jay G. and Henry discuss a hoops recruiting prediction plus intel from the team's weekend scrimmage against Andy Kennedy's UAB squad. The show ends with a cornucopia of shoutouts. It was a fine week of Bunkering. The show is presented by VooDoo Wing Company with locations in Auburn, Mobile, Tuscaloosa and Las Vegas. Many of you are listening to this show and you're starting to build your collection of bourbon. I was in your same shoes years ago and I would come home from the liquor store every week with a new bottle when I wasn't even 10% done with the bottle I bought the previous week. That same process goes on, you learn about limited editions, the hunt really begins, the credit card points really start rolling in, and before you know it you have a bunker of bourbon. I'm joined by Mark Rucker of The Bourbon Life to talk about bunkering and when can there ever be enough. We talk about the upper limits of purchasing, bottle prices, and folks who purchase just for the investment purpose. There's more topics that we dive into such as tactics used by marketing teams to always drive limited releases and how some brands are creating confusion to consumers. But the question remains, will we ever need to stop bunkering bourbon? Show Notes: Above the Char with Fred Minnick (@fredminnick) talks about whiskey gift giving. How many bottles do you have in your collection? Can you expense your bourbon purchases as business expenses? At what point do you say you have enough single barrel selections of a certain brand? Is it harder to open the last bottle from a barrel pick you were on? Marriages are supposed to be a 50/50 relationship. Does your better half buy you bottles? Is there something in us that says "is there ever enough to stop"? Is there an upper limit such as maxing out your bar? Is there a problem with people who just want to collect to eventually sell? Do the vast majority of distilleries need to slow down on limited releases? Should people be going crazy for Russell's Reserve 13 year? Does creating more colors of Weller continually feed the animal? What brand does a good job of having a lot of labels but doesn't create confusion? Is this strategy seen as a disservice to the consumer? @thebourbonlife Support this podcast on Patreon

Explored the 5 phases of bunkering and how we process this experience moving from: Denial to 2. Anger to 3. Depression to 4. Bargaining to 5. Acceptance. How we're processing each of these and how to get out of the depression trough. Also explored the double black swan and how to think through the survival strategy plus the opportunity on the other side of the survival. We need to realize without both we're toast. With one or the other we're delusion. Hope y'all enjoy this weeks chat!

So, how does faith in Jesus influence the leader or innovator? How does being a leader or innovator influence your faith?Quotes:Faith is a lived journey: We're very clear that whatever faith is it is not just a propositional system.Faith is a relationship that we live into with Jesus and that unfolds, and we carry with us in the present and into the future.it's complex: even the idea that is faith something that I hold. Or is it something that holds me. It's just so big. When we talk about going upstream in our conversations it's way before the questions of what do we want. It's already there in the fabric of who we are.I don't have a Buddhist faith or a Hindu faith. I have a Christian faith. It has content and identity and a particular relationship with Jesus that characterize that.My faith is down that next level: Not in propositions about a supreme muffin but in the lived experience of walking with Jesus. We're learning about God and our faith and the works of Jesus not through the window of systematized propositions but through the window of an unfolding Judeo Christian history. In the history of systematic theology emphasis has always been on the propositional in the abstract - the emphasis now is very much fuelled by historical situation.Spirituality is now quite comfortably used in in business and seen as a desirable part of the conversation or at least as an inescapable part of the conversation.Spirituality is now seen as a given. There's more need than ever before for an expansive vocalization of the Christian message and the footprint that it can have in business. At the front end of conversations we seem to be largely silent or silenced. And then in the detailed world we are driven into moralistic binaries.Bunkering down and bolting the doors isn't an option: we can't be part of the transformation of the world if we are in a bunker. It is a linguistic bunker: it's the conversations we don't know how to have and the language we don't know how to use that construct the boundaries of thought we can work on.ReferencesBen Myers tweeted the whole BibleListen here.
