This week on Hashtag History, we will be discussing the 1986 Challenger Explosion. This was an absolutely tragic incident in American history in which the Space Shuttle Challenger exploded just 73 seconds after lift-off, killing all seven of its crew members. This incident was exceptionally devastating because one of the passengers onboard wasn't a NASA astronaut. Rather, a thirty-seven year old school teacher named Christa McAuliffe was onboard that day as part of NASA's Teacher in Space Project; an effort to get the American people interested in the NASA Program once again. But of course, the most devastating and most disturbing part of this whole disaster is the fact that NASA knew of a historic problem with the O-ring seals on the solid rocket booster and had received correspondence from the manufacturer that they anticipated that the launch would end in catastrophe. NASA had the ability to halt the launch, and yet, they refused, sending seven people to their deaths in front of millions of people (many of which were children who were tuning in as part of their school day on account of McAuliffe being a member of the crew).A special THANK YOU to our Hashtag History listeners -- Jeff, Christa, and Mike -- who so graciously shared with us their first-hand experiences of watching the Challenger explosion in live time. If you were alive at the time, you remember an o-ring cased the January 28, 1986 Space Shuttle Challenger explosion 73 seconds after take off. But was it that simple? Adam Higginbotham discusses his new book, Challenger: A True Story of Heroism and Disaster on the Edge of Space and see how much you really know about that day.
National. Ass. Station. Anonymous. In this one, Ian and Liv talk about the Challenger, a United States Space Shuttle that exploded during it's launch back in 1986. Despite all of the warning signs in the years preceding the tragedy, officials at NASA proceeded with the launch, which ultimately claimed the lives of the seven astronauts on board. And did you know it gets cold in Florida? Also, Liv has what it takes to be a rocket scientist. Ian is a shockingly ideal astronaut candidate.

This week Josh and Dru discuss the Carl Theodor Dryer classic, Vampyr. From wiki: “Vampyr (German: Vampyr – Der Traum des Allan Gray, lit. 'Vampyr: The Dream of Allan Gray') is a 1932 gothic horror film directed by Danish director Carl Theodor Dreyer. The film was written by Dreyer and Christen Jul based on elements from J. Sheridan Le Fanu's 1872 collection of supernatural stories In a Glass Darkly. Vampyr was funded by Nicolas de Gunzburg who starred in the film under the name of Julian West among a mostly non-professional cast. Gunzburg plays the role of Allan Gray, a student of the occult who enters the village of Courtempierre, which is under the curse of a vampire. “But also: The Challenger Explosion, abandoned summer camps, Big Bird, Pee Wee's Christmas Special, Kinds of Kindness, The Devils, Paperbacks from Hell, Black Ambrosia by Elizabeth Engstrom, and more!NEXT WEEK: The Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978) Follow them across the internet:Bloodhaus:https://www.bloodhauspod.com/https://twitter.com/BloodhausPodhttps://www.instagram.com/bloodhauspod/Drusilla Adeline:https://www.sisterhydedesign.com/https://letterboxd.com/sisterhyde/Joshua Conkelhttps://www.joshuaconkel.com/https://www.instagram.com/joshua_conkel/https://letterboxd.com/JoshuaConkel/

Whoa, what a riveting show. I did not know Cullen was present when the Challenger exploded in Florida in 1986 or a passenger on United Airlines flight 811 in 1989 where a cargo door blew off and 9 were sucked out of the plane! At the same time, Pia was winning scooters and free salad bars. We also talk deeply about Ozempic and Daylight Saving Time's dark purpose.Keeping in harmony, the Just Be Practice ends with words of wisdom from Laarkmaa, the Pleiadian collective with whom Pia and Cullen merge to deliver messages of encouragement during this pivot planet awakening. The fellas head to space in this episode to discuss the 1986 challenger explosion and some of the conspiracy theory's that come with it.
Abbilin shares interesting facts about the Challenger Explosion!
The NASA space shuttle Challenger exploded on January 28, 1986, just 73 seconds after liftoff, bringing a devastating end to the spacecraft's 10th mission. The disaster claimed the lives of all seven astronauts aboard, including Christa McAuliffe, a teacher from New Hampshire who would have been the first civilian in space. It was later determined that two rubber O-rings, which had been designed to seal the sections of the rocket booster, had failed due to cold temperatures on the morning of the launch. The tragedy and its aftermath received extensive media coverage and prompted NASA to temporarily suspend all shuttle missions.Challenger Explosion. (2010, February 15). Carey Ann winds up her first three-part series with an analysis of 'freeze' and 'fawn' using the ever-popular [and super traumatizing] TV show, Grey's Anatomy. Allison then jumps in with an equally traumatizing true story of the Challenger Explosion, complete with a surprise ending that wasn't taught in schools. In addition to intersections, and with all that is going on in the world, your hosts would like to remind you to take care of yourselves this week.
Kevin Cook, author of The Burning Blue joins the Rich Zeoli Show. Cook and Zeoli discuss his book that chronicles the Space Shuttle Challenger explosion in 1986. The space shuttle broke apart only 73 seconds into the flight, evidently killing all seven crew members on board. The Challenger took off in one of the coldest mornings in the previous 20 years causing a giant explosion in the sky - Cook diagrams some key takeaways from his must-read. We continue with Part 2 of this mind blowing interview with David Weiss from The Flat Earth Podcast. We learn all about the Challenger Explosion and what David believes really happened that day - he teaches us that it was designed to traumatize children and that 6 of the astronauts had identical twins. Then we learn about the Georgia Guide stones and the star Polaris. We learn about the confusing routes planes take which makes perfect sense on a flat earth but zero sense on a globe. David says that they have spoken to many pilotsand they all know that the Earth is flat. In particular he says that they interviewed a KLM Pilot who was showing them all kinds of things to prove that the Earth is flat, but she was fired the next day. David tells us about his App Flat Earth Sun, Moon & Zodiac where you can see videos that you will not see anywhere else and it explains in detail how everything works. He says this is the only way to get the real information since Flat Earth is highly censored when you google it. Marcella asks David about the water test. He gives a very passionate answer. David tells us about the 3 body problem, eclipses and how dumb daylight savings time is. Gabrielle asks him about his views on the pandemic. He tells everyone to go to the website stoplookthink.com to inform yourself. We talk about the Austrian Felix Baumgartner's Red Bull Space jump. David gives us his views on crypto currency. He gets very passionate about the fact that we might get into a time where money, crypto, gold and silver won't matter and all that matters arefood, guns and bullets. He says that all of this is in our hands and they are trying to create this future but they cannot do it without our permission. They want us to think we are running out of fuel, food, water and global warming etc. He says this is the mind matrix. They are all controlling us with lies and creating fear. Once you wake up from it you have no more fear because they feed off our fear. We are in a spiritual warfare. Once you wake up you unplug. Once you see you cannot unsee. When you wake up to the flat Earth you can never unsee it. Things change for you in great ways. David talks about his feelings about the healthcare in this country. He says he would never go to a doctor unless it was for an accident. He says there is no disease just levels of toxicity and that they want to keep you sick. Rockefellers changed everything and took the healing plants away and created synthetic pills instead. America messes with our food supply. He says it is horrifying and we have to try the best we can to eat as healthy as possible. A 10 X 10 space is all you need to grow your own garden. Then we talk about the planes that mess with our climate. He says that he has been screaming about that for years and that they now actually admit it, even though it used to be conspiracy a few years ago. https://www.instagram.com/theflatearthpodcast/?hl=enhttps://www.youtube.com/channel/UCSxKBShys3kLEZJqJPS0WAgApp: Flat Earth Sun, Moon & Zodiac PARTY WITH MISS POLLY SEGMENT: Sex Myth - Menstruation is the ultimate baby barrier QUESTION OF THE DAY:Is taking a nap with a friend of your desired gender a normal thing to do or does it mean more?

Hey Punky Peeps, Well, That's A Wrap On Season 2 Punky Peeps! Hi, i'm Angela Bowen the host of Punky Power: An Unofficial Punky Power Podcast. With the completion of the Season 2 Finale of Punky Brewster S2E22: Accidents Happen which aired on March 9, 1986. Punky's dream is to become an astronaut when she grows up. When she sees the explosion of the Challenger Space Shuttle on TV, she is devastated. I learned so much recording this episode regarding the space program and I even had someone close to me talk about their experience when they saw the Challenger Explosion in January of 1986. That special guest was my husband Jeremy who you will hear for a couple of minutes in the beginning. I would have had him on longer but he didn't have anything else to say on the subject. I also went on a mini tangent about Sylvester Stallone and his country singing movie Rhinestone with Dolly Parton. Thanks a lot Allen, you just had to be dressed as Rambo, didn't you ? I'm giving this episode 5 out of 5 Brandon Tail Wags 1. For Punky's outfit for Career Day 2. For Punky and Henry talking about the Space Shuttle Explosion 3. For Mike explaining to his class what happened and have the kids express how they were feeling. 4. For Buzz Aldrin's appearance and inviting Punky to join the Young Explorers program. 5. For the end scene of Punky and Brandon looking out her bedroom window at the night sky as she tells him someday they'll be out there amongst the stars. Punky's Principles: I think it's very important when a tragedy like this occurs that parents and teachers talk to their children and students and allow them to express what they're feeling, asking their questions and admitting their fears. Well everyone that's a wrap for the completion of Season 2 of Punky Brewster. I'll do a little recap of what I liked and didnt like of Season 2 and my hopes for the characters as we go into Season 3 in January. If you'd like to connect with the podcast you can visit these sights and follow me on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. As well as email me at punkypowerpbpodcast@gmail.com I'd love to hear from you. I want to give a sincere thank to all you listeners out there whether you listen to this podcast on Itunes or Soundcloud or any other listening platforms that you may use to hear this podcast. I love giving you the episode recaps of Punky Brewster every week joining me as I go into full detail describing her many adventures and shenanigans with Henry, Brandon and her friends as well as my occasional running commentary and childhood stories. Also if you enjoy this podcast please go to Itunes and rate, review and subscribe so you won’t miss an episode. Remember the first time you asked yourself “What the fuck is a Wonderwall”? Cause you heard that song by Oasis, and had no idea what the hell Liam Gallagher was yelling about? At one time Wonderwall was a cultural touchstone pretty much on par with the Kennedy Assassination, and the Challenger Explosion, but I feel like we as a country have pretty much forgotten that. And that’s shameful. Shame on us. Well, as it turns out, Noel Gallagher, the bloke (nailed it) that wrote it, still remembers it. In fact the opening track of Chasing Yesterday the newest release by Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, makes sure you know that. Gallagher has never been afraid of “cribbing”, “borrowing” “stealing” melodies and turning them into great new songs, and it’s pretty bad-ass to see him use his proclivities for that type of stuff as he cribs from himself. I’ll spare you my feelings on this record until you listen to this episode (hint:great record) because as Chris Cox (one of the Oneofus.net Godfathers) has told me, if you give the milk away for free, nobody will want to buy the cow. I’m not actually sure that he put it that way, as we were up late drinking at Nomad Bar, but I feel like it was something along those lines. But everybody didn’t agree with my assessment of Chasing Yesterday, so what the hell, have some free milk. Go Get "Chasing Yesterday" from Amazon Women A Few Minutes With Ryan gave us the gift of Aldo Nova’s Fantasy (Life is just a fantasy, can you live this fantasy life?) for our A Few MInutes With segment. It’s an incredibly entertaining mid 80’s video. Let’s just say there are guitars that are also laser guns. AND Aldo Nova is a dude, not a band name?! Also, he co-wrote Blaze of Glory with Jon Bon Jovi. A Current Affair Wrapped it up with Kate Tempest rapping about how you can barely get a retail job even with a degree. Coming Up We finally do a show based on a listener suggestion! Stone Roses Second Coming. I’ll just suggest that the title’s hubris is just that. Hubris (some more free milk)…See you in 7
During the Golden Age of Greece the most powerful woman in the realm was known as the Pythia. A high priestess of the god Apollo, these women were renowned for their powers of clairvoyance. Before any major military or political decision was to be made, it was tradition that these great seeresses be consulted. The power of prophecy has fascinated humankind since time immemorial. The ability to see into the future and navigate the trials of often cruel and fickle fate. Many have claimed to have this gift but perhaps none are as famous or well known as a former French doctor turned Fortune Teller from the 16th century. Believers claim that his works, which included over 1000 predictions, included events like the rise of Adolf Hitler, the Challenger Explosion, and even the assassinations of both Kennedy brothers. This case file the Theorists talk about the too fly French guy with the third eye...Nostradamus
