After a year of back to back viewings of the absolute dregs of this franchise, your intrepid hosts have finally returned to where it all began. The original Transformers cartoon came onto the scene with some big swings in season one, but season two is where the madness really starts. Events discussed within this data transmission include; Frankenstein, dubiously certified doctors, Wheeljack's many crimes, Gears exploring subspace, Huffer getting fired for HR violations, Cliffjumper's thirst for violence, and the amount of cocaine that was fueling the writer's room. All Hail Unicron: Episode 72 Skibbidy Ohio GYAT INTRODUCTION Anybody Get Anything? —--------------------------------------------------------- Dear Shatte….Hi guys, Last episode was a bit like the old days when there was a lot of news and it didn't matter who made it. I know this because I'm listening to Shattered Cast Uncut again beginning with episode #70. I think that's the time I started listening. I'm currently at #94 and saw all your young fat faces (I'm old and from Europe) It's a bittersweet experience. That chemistry of 6/7 people was awesome. It's also bittersweet because that's almost 10 years ago. (2015) But when I look at my collection there are several mentioned toys that I still haven't swapped out. And somehow they give me the feeling those times were better or at least more exciting because everything was new and we had hope. My question is; which time do you prefer most? The time everything was new, or the time you have options and can wait for the next obvious gaps? I know the answer depends on what or which you collect. If you disagree too much, please look at where we are now. (But is it more exciting?) Thankyou for all those years and I'm still listening. Kind regards, Quint the Quinturion Movie/Show News —---------------------------------------- Dear Mr. All Hail, First of all, I want to give a shout out to Justine regarding Go-bots. I first got into Go-bots before transformers and still have my childhood collection including 2 Turbos to this day. My question tonight is how do you all handle conversations about transformers with general people outside your collecting circles? For example, when someone finds out you are into transformers but then spouts out obviously wrong (I.e. saying that they had that exact masterpiece figure growing up as a kid) or very strong opinions that you know will be a waste of time engaging in (I.e. how every collector must still be living inside their parents basement). I for one am very cautious to engage or maybe just make a quick comment to move the conversation along, but it's always awkward. Thanks. Keep up the good work ——Noob Ryan Third party: We didn't see him last time, but there he is! Previously, a listener asked about the most expensive toy you've ever broken, and I have a follow up question or two... What is the most expensive toy/collectable that you have broken that belonged to someone else? (Maybe it's a better question when you have Bobby Skullface as a guest host ) I will confess that mine is a Gigapower Sludge that belongs to the one and only Preorder... I still stand by my statement that the thumb joint was a poor design. Follow up question... I have heard that Justin is really good at fixing broken toys. Want to take a shot at poor thumbless Sludge? Love the show, keep up the entertaining work. Rich asked about what the listeners thought about the new Springer coming out with minor retools and increase in price. I'm on board with you all. I'm tired of Hasbro doing multiple versions of the same thing with minor tweaks and changes or just adding accessories to justify the increased cost. I get that Hasbro wants to increase profits and that by doing these simple things, they can. Just like with the recent Autobot 5 pack that consisted of Hound, Wheeljack, Jazz, Sunstreaker, and Trailbreaker. The only one most people wanted from that 5 pack was Hound, but the people that bought the other four figures previously now have to pay more for figures they got. I get the other 4 had minor changes done, most noticeable was the change from clear/translucent plastic to the solid painted plastic. They also did the same thing with the previous Kup and Cliffjumper where they had clear plastic issues for sale first and then later came back with the painted version that better resembles the toon aesthetic. In short, I'm done upgrading unless it is a significant improvement on the current figure. Don't get me wrong, overall, I'm very happy with the line since the War, Siege, and Earthrise. We've got some good figures. I'm just tired of paying more or essentially repurchasing slightly better figures. You also talked about Beast Wars and Beast Machines and how they weren't out in all markets when they were released. I was one of those market. Beast Wars aired late and the second season was airing the same time as the first season of Beast Machines. You all said that there really wasn't much linking them together other the the same characters and voice actors. When I was that age, mid to late teens, I thought Beast Machines was ripping off Beast Wars. My little brother who was a tween, thought the same thing. It was real weird. Either way. Still look forward to listening and the new podcast. Joe S. P.S. Tell Oscar when he gets back that the rash cleared up and he shouldn't have anything to worry about. —------------------------------------------- Hey all, Hopefully the full crew is back and Robert was able to escape from prison. I'm sure you all talked about it but if not, what are your thoughts on the new studio series prime? We all have spent so much money collecting for this hobby. Will it ever be done for you guys? For me, I go back and forth trying to decide if I actually like collecting these figures or just the initial rush from opening something new. Do you all collect multiple versions of each character or do you stop when the perfect figure in your eyes comes out? I have so many MP primes but am still getting the fans toys one. I think it depends on the character. I think toy companies are doing a pretty good job of learning from their past. There are always exceptions, but overall, I feel they're heading in the right direction. Star Wars has been doing a good job rereleasing in-demand figures. Since Toys are now being collected primarily by adults, nostalgia reigns supreme. Toy companies keep pumping out updated engineering on toys we loved, like Origins Nightstalker and Missing Link Bumblebee and Cliffjumper. Hasbro, in particular, has discovered by just changing the scale you can get everyone to buy figures like the Cobra Trooper again.

The episode begins with another edition of the "40 for 40" segment, setting the target on the year 2006. The toy talk continues with an early edition of Bragging Rights robbing us of a concluding segment for the episode. Celebrating Christmas in May, a December listener question from OptimusBrat about a possible redo of commander class Rodimus Prime is considered. As promised in the last episode, in hand opinions of Legacy United wave 2 are now given including Commander Magmatron before wave 3 reveals are discussed. Robosen Megatron then has the crew less than thrilled, but the reveal of Movie Masterpiece Brawl lets us give our tanks. The chaotic episode finally comes to an end with Missing Link Bumblebee and Cliffjumper leaks prompting the crew to wonder which G1 toy could use this update the most.

Short time listener, first time writer. I'm curious, if your house was on fire and you only had one chance to save one thing in your transformers collection what would it be and why (assume your family and pets already were safe outside the house). Also, after your entire collection is gone except for that one thing, would you look to rebuild your collection or just be done with collecting? Emon Anthousis: Hey all, First, love the podcast. I really wish you'd record more episodes. Second, how do you guys fight the collecting everything? I have been collecting for my entire life and seriously don't know how to focus my collection. I have mainline, legends and masterpiece. I like aspects of each and don't think I choose only one to collect. The problem is that I have so much that barely of it is on display at the moment. Right now I try to buy what I like, which is still too much. Finally, do you think that fans toys prices are getting out of hand? I canceled so many preorders because of the jump in price. I don't think I can justify over a grand for Devastator. I know superion and menasaur are close to that price now, but I have already invested most of that money. Thanks for everything you do. I'll email again soon. Emon A. PS Ignore Bobby, I love the TMT Bumblebee figure. Not the most posable but definitely feels premium and looks great with MM Optimus. And are you all on instagram? Would love to see any pics of your collections. Thanks and have a nice podcast, Noob Ryan Nick Lord Gentlemen, I trust this message finds you all well. As a long time listener (well back in the shattered cast days) and first time corresponder I just gotta say I do look forward to my fortnightly dose of mayhem you guys provide... but I digress. I need a question. So, is anyone keeping up with the new Skybound comic? I've only seen bits and pieces, but it seems like they're at least doing their own thing with it so far. Getting individual issues down here can be a pain in the dick too but I'll probably have a look at the trades when they start to appear. Anyway, I won't keep ya's, but I appreciate the efforts. What a day for Transformers! The Seibertron.com Twincast / Podcast has let the dust settle and discusses a world where the trailer for Transformers One has debuted in episode 348. From space, back to Youtube, and all the way to Cybertron a surface dissection of the scenes of the trailer travels to several topics, including the appearance of a "Xerxes-like" Starscream. After more talk about the upcoming Masterpiece Ginrai, the death of Masterpiece as a brand is briefly mourned before its glorious rebirth into MPG is noted, with some interesting theories arising about the future of Masterpiece G as we know it. Issue 7 of the Skybound Transformers series has the cast pondering the fate of a few bots. A new listener question about an obscure line of toys is tackled and the 2005 edition of 40 for 40 reminds us of some great classic toys. Bragging rights is abridged but we keep it quick with some Korean KOs, the Reflector 3-pack, some 90s European market exclusives and the world's best Transformers Convention report from Dairycon 2024.
Episode 347 of the Twincast / Podcast swoops in to look at all the latest in Transformers while looking back once again. The episode begins with onsite commentary about the Wondercon Studio Series toy reveals such as Bumblebee Movie Shockwave and the highly anticipated Studio Series 86 Leader Class Swoop, plus Bumblebee Movie Sunstreaker and Gamer Edition Sideswipe who are already in the hands of the crew for discussion. The toy talk continues with an unsurprising leak of Legacy Sideburn, a new Target 4 pack, leak of a possible Masterpiece God Ginrai giving new life to the MPG line, and yet another Collaborative reveal with the TMNT Turtle Van challenging the dais to buy 4 copies for the display. This week's installment of the "40 for 40" segment takes us to the year of 2004 with Energon leaking all over and the crew taking the podcast into the shop for a new Alternator. As always, the joy of Transformer collecting is shared as Bragging Rights brings the show to a close.

The Seibertron.com Twincast / Podcast starts episode 338 with a quick round of speculation about an upcoming dragon themed toy set to be revealed next month. After that, the talk moves on to the lone newly-revealed toy from Hasbro's latest "Transformers Tuesday" event, that toy being a Soundwave which uses the design from the upcoming Reactivate videogame. Additional thoughts on the Haslab Deathsaurus figure that's about to ship out follow, prompted by the unboxing video that Hasbro sent out to project backers during this past week. Skybound's second issue of their flagship Transformers comic book has hit the shelves, so the cast reflects on it next in a spoiler-filled discussion. The 40 for 40 limited segment then brings up memories of the Generation 2 toys from 1995, before the episode concludes with the recurring "Bragging Rights" segment where the cast shares their most recent and notable Transformers toy and product acquisitions.

First off, congratulations on the second printing of Justice Warriors! For our listeners, what's the elevator pitch for this series?Every page is full of interesting background bits. Dudes with clown noses, graffiti that says “Hell is otter people.” How much of this is in the script and how much is going buck wild while illustrating a page?On that same note, how often do you find yourselves going back to add “just one more” detail? With the creative juices flowing at various stages of layouts, how far did Justice Warriors steer from the original outline or plan by the time you reached the end?The Prince is less of a villain and more of a goober. Was it important to you to have an authority figure like this in the book?I noticed fun references to pop culture, like the Arnold Schwarzenegger and Carl Weathers handshake, is there any reference or gag in the book you hold particularly dear to your heart? If you handed this book to someone in the bubble, I feel like it'd read like perfect JW propaganda. Was that a tonal goal here?Horoscopes play a huge part in Justice Warriors, are either of you into horoscopes, or maybe the opposite, despise them? Are either of you a Libra? If a Justice Warriors 2 was crafted, who might the threat be this time?Matt, for those who don't know, you ran The Nib for 10 years, a twice named a Pulitzer Prize finalist. Likely a sensitive topic, why are you closing shop now? When can we expect the final issue to land at our doorsteps (after we buy it from thenib.com)?It's way too early I'm sure, but if The Nib continued in some format, where or how might we see The Nib?

The season for retailer exclusives is almost upon Transformers fans, and episode 325 of the Seibertron.com Twincast / Podcast starts out with impressions of the recently revealed Amazon exclusive two-packs featuring Miner Megatron, Senators Shockwave and Ratbat, plus an Orion Pax using the Siege Hound Deluxe Class tooling. Quick thoughts on Earthspark Grimlock are also included. A pair of Japanese Studio Series exclusives tied in with Rise of the Beasts ticket purchases are pondered next, with said toys being Nemesis Prime and Beast Burning Convoy. The first entry of a new segment, "40 for 40" is found in this episode. With the Transformers franchise approaching its 40th birthday next year, the cast looks back at favorites from each year, starting in this episode with their favorites from 1984. The episode concludes with the recurring Bragging Rights segment, which this time includes discussion on little known packaging variants for some Starscream toys.
Episode 322 of the Seibertron.com Twincast / Podcast begins with a discussion of Hasbro's fanstream which showcased upcoming Generations Legacy Evolution and Studio Series products. Thoughts about Commander Class Armada Optimus Prime and Megatron start things out before shifting over to Deluxe Class entries Beachcomber, Axelgrease and Devcon. The Decepticon battleship Nemesis will be the next to join the Titan Class lineup, so the cast provides their thoughts on her before quickly reflecting on "Space Bridge" reveals of Studio Series products. A brief overview of the dearth of products hitting store shelves in support of the upcoming Rise of the Beasts movie follows. After that, the penultimate entry of the long-running Classics Retrospective segment takes a look at late 2014 and early 2015 releases such as Generations Brainstorm, Chromia, Arcee and Windblade. The recurring Bragging Rights segment then closes out another episode.

Despite what you may think, the Decepticons weren't defeated simply by getting a little wet. G1 just keeps on rolling this week, with some of the most madness filled action sequences we've seen yet. Laser baseballs, clam nets, hand launched buzzsaws, and more await you here. Plus, Cliffjumper takes nothing but Ls, Soundwave does a brain scan, Bumblebee is a terrible scout, and we finally get to see what Jet Judo is all about. Noise Space | Discord
In Episode 308 of the Seibertron.com Twincast Podcast, the show kicks off with news from New Zealand: the arrival of Velocitron Speedia 500 Shadowstrip, a G2 redeco of Legacy Dragstrip, and the first indication that we will see a new set of G2 Stunticons. The conversation then turns to this year's Transformers Hall of Fame fan vote, whose categories and format leaves the cast befuddled and skeptical. The Twincast then takes on the Super7 ReAction line, which has revealed a slate of off-the-beaten-track additions to their release schedule, including toy-deco G1 Galvatron, G2 blue Grimlock, and most notably, G1 Prototype Unicron. After some discussion on this unique Unicron concept, the Twincast returns to our retrospective segment, where we take a look back towards 2012: the oddball GDO (global distribution organization) subline including Powerdive and Swerve, the Fall of Cybertron video game tie-in figures such as Grimlock and Bruticus, and Transformers Collector Club exclusives, in particular Over-Run and Runamuck. The show wraps up as it does in nearly every episode, with a round of bragging rights.

Every once in a while, a moment happens in this horrid little show that makes all the critical analysis seem worth it. We are delighted to declare that we have encountered one of those shining moments. On this episode, the R.I.G. crew re-opens their file on the OptiTron ship, although this time around, they're looking at how Starscream fits into it all. David brings a picture of young Optimus Prime A.K.A. Orion Pax to show and tell, Gege claims that Cliffjumper and Starscream call each other "poppa," and Jordan somehow find the time to get inordinately mad at Dick Wolf and Counting Crows. Episode 232 of the Twincast Podcast begins with an interview with Hasbro's John Warden which was conducted this week at the 2019 New York Comic Con. Mr. Warden provides insights and information about the next chapter of Hasbro's Transformers Generations War for Cybertron trilogy, Earthrise. Following the interview, in depth discussion of the newly revealed products from the show begins. The latest Voyager Class Starscream takes cues from the older Classics design while Soundbarrier and Ironworks show a lot of potential for more Micromaster base playsets down the road. Other figures such as Optimus Prime, Hoist, Grapple and Wheeljack show a distinctive G1 cartoon inspired direction for this lineup of toys. New Cyberverse toys made a small appearance at NYCC with new Deluxe Class figures that impressed the cast. In another surprise from Cyberverse, it seems there may be some pointers taken from the Marvel Legends action figures with what looks to be Cyberverse's very first build-a-figure in the form of Maccadam. The episode concludes with a brief discussion on the trading card game and the new faction that has just been revealed, including potential strategies for using some of the new Mercenaries characters in the game.

The Seibertron.com Twincast Podcast starts out episode 231 with yet another look into the status of the crowdfunded Haslab Unicron figure, with the cast speculating on the lack of momentum as the project approaches its final days. With this out of the way, talk turns to rumors of possible upcoming Generations products that could be released after the conclusion of War for Cybertron: Siege with very believable potential releases on this list of unconfirmed products. Discussion then turns to the world of Transformers comics with the spin-off anthology series Galaxies having launched this week from IDW Publishing. The crew chats about its focus characters, the Constructicons, as well as the art, production and other qualities of this fun new addition to IDW Publishing's Transformers story. Picking up after a long layoff, the "Classics Retrospective" then continues with the look back reaching the Transformers Universe lineup from 2008 and 2009, known by most fans as Universe 2.0. Listen in as everything from Sunstreaker, Sideswipe, Prowl, Cyclonus, Hound, Galvatron, Ironhide, Inferno and even Ultra Class swan-song releases Silverbolt, Powerglide and Onslaught are discussed. Along the way, various repaints of these releases such as those in Takara's Henkei! Henkei! lineup are brought up. The episode then concludes with the recurring bragging rights segment with the cast sharing their latest Transformers toy pick-ups.

The Seibertron.com Twincast / Podcast presents its 220th episode, "Classically Trained", starting out once again with in-hand impressions of some of the latest Transformers Voyager Class toys to hit retail in Studio Series Rampage and Optimus Prime. Part one of a special retrospective at Transformers Classics and the Generations line it eventually spawned starts next, with a look back at the genesis of the idea with Alternators, Dreamwave publishing's comic books and other releases from series such as Transformers: Energon. The retrospective continues with the beginnings of the Classics line itself, with popular characters such as Bumblebee, Megatron, Optimus Prime and Starscream hitting shelves first. The cast talks through the initial Classics run ending up with the Walmart exclusive Devastator released in early 2007. After this, Jon Bailey, voice of Soundwave and Shockwave in the Bumblebee movie, talks through his latest experiences that day at Paramount studios where he was able to talk about the movie with its screenwriter Christina Hodson, Foley artists Alicia Stevenson & Dawn Lunsford and on-set mechanic Sarah Lyon. A listener question about the upcoming Netflix series is followed by a chat about IDW Publishing's Transformers #2 and their newly relaunched Transformers comics universe. The recurring Bragging Rights segment concludes another episode as usual.
Quick rundown of my February reads, and a bit of griping about how Cliffjumper always dies.
The Transformers live action film franchise's latest installment is out, with Bumblebee hitting theaters last week. The Seibertron.com Twincast / Podcast brings you its review of the movie, with one of its regular podcasters Jon Bailey bringing his insights after providing the voice acting talents for Soundwave and Shockwave in the film. Along with this insider perspective, the cast discusses each significant part of the movie itself, beginning with the "Generation One" inspired opening scene on Cybertron. The new human and robot characters presented in the Earth based adventures are also reflected on, with the cast agreeing that this latest movie is a measurable tonal departure from the approach of previous films in the franchise. After talking through the entire movie's plot and characterizations, speculation about what comes next for Travis Knight, Michael Bay, and the Transformers live action movies comes next. A quick chat about the movie's tie-in toyline follows, and the show concludes with a quick round of holiday season bragging rights about the cast's Transformers related gifts.
Cliffjumper is kind of a jerk and Mirage has kind of a stupid plan and, in the end, everything kind of works out. Find Paul and John on Twitter.

The Autobots' patrol on Earth heats up as Cliffjumper runs straight into trouble and Arcee's cover is blown. Can the Autobots protect their secret and the human kids who now know it? What kind of tone is set for this new series? And can you smell what Cliffjumper is cooking? Join us this week for Darkness Rising, Part 1!

A light bit of news this week for the Moonbase guys but Mech Planet show off to new prototypes, ones a Goldbug and the other a Cliffjumper, obviously based off their previous Bumblebee release. Images of the new wave of Legends figures from japan are out, this being the Autobot Clones, Blitzwing and Overlord and we have Overlords comic to talk about. As well as a few more stories and what they doods have done this week.
Following Armada's amazing toy sales, Hasbro and Takara apparently decided lackluster animation and even worse translation were just fine, because that seems to have been the attitude behind the Transformers: Energon TV series. With a confusing plot, stilted CG robots, and translations errors on par with Generation 1's animation errors, Energon quickly established itself as no one's favorite Transformers cartoon. We're still gonna watch an episode, though. In fact, we're going to watch an episode that in many ways embodies the series, an episode that didn't even get a spell-check on the title: Imprisoned Inferno! As Kicker! and Misha explore a new planet that's teeming with life and Energon, Inferno holds watch over Shockblast on the desolate Iron Planet. But when Megatron sets his sights on corrupting the stoic sniper, will Inferno be able to resist? Why does the animation suddenly get so much better in Act 3? And did Cliffjumper and Downshift really just refer to each other by their own names!? Join us as we answer some of these questions and fail to answer others while watching Improsoned Inferno!

We get started with a few of this year's Club exclusive figures: Subscription Service 3.0 Carzap, Club "freebie" Lio Convoy, and Club Store exclusive Nova Prime. Next up we discuss Combiner Wars Leader Thundercracker. With the release of Legions Class Cliffjumper, Skywarp, and Ultra Magnus, some of us want to know what all the Ultra Magnus fuss is about. We move onto something BIG - San Diego Comic Con's exclusive Titan Devastator. Next up is Unite Warriors Defensor with deluxe class Protectobot Groove. The time is ripe ... for a LISTENER QUESTION! News staff member williamjames88's thoughtful query initiates a lively discussion about buying at retail vs online. We get on to some unlikely art-talk with the release of five very cool Fembot concepts by IDW artist Alex Milne. The popularity of female Transformers amongst the fandom, and the demand for more toys of such characters, has been an encouraging trend. Botcon is less than a month away, and we've caught wind of some rumored Waspinator-based army builders. Which of these taste-the-rainbow decos make sense, and which don't? We finish up with some bragging rights!
