Text us here! Hershall, it's something to think that we are midway to mostly thru the month of November. As you surely remember, this is the month of my nativity (a biblical way to say birth). The boys never forget that and so I acknowledged that today. We talked about a recent invitation to be the M. C. (abbreviation for Master of Ceremonies- side note- why is it possible/acceptable to spell this word as it sounds? See title) at a Gala (big word for fundraiser) for Macy's Cradle, a nonprofit that my big sister started. We talked about some recent vehicle trouble that I have been experiencing and that led to the testimony of Gen Z boy where he tells about being capable of doing his own vehicle maintenance (#proudofmyson). We ended with a Whatcha Listenin' To segment followed by a heart-felt tribute to a close friend and supporter of Pod'N Me. As a DJ, learning how to emcee can enhance your performances and take your skills to the next level. Emceeing, also known as MCing, involves hosting an event and engaging with the audience through speech and interaction. Here are some tips to help you learn how to emcee:Practice speaking in front of a mirror: One of the key skills you need to develop as an emcee is stage presence. Start by practicing speaking in front of a mirror to help you become more comfortable with your body language and facial expressions.Develop your voice: Your voice is an important tool as an emcee. Practice speaking in different tones, pitches, and volumes to create variation and interest in your speech.Create a script: It's helpful to have a general script or outline of what you want to say during your emcee performance. This can include introductions, transitions, and announcements.Interact with the audience: Emceeing is all about engaging with the audience. Encourage them to participate by asking questions, making jokes, or leading them in a chant.Be prepared for the unexpected: No matter how much you plan, things can always go wrong during a live performance. Be prepared to improvise and think on your feet if something unexpected happens.By practicing these skills and incorporating them into your DJ performances, you can become a more well-rounded and engaging entertainer.Support this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/we-create-the-vibes-podcast/exclusive-contentAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy

His own story of success came from a horrible leg fracture that propelled him to change directions in his life.   Communication is the #1 skill you should master when you are an entrepreneur. The best way to do this is to listen more than you speak.   Bio: My name is Trevor B. West. I am a God-fearing multifamily real estate investor and Live Event Emcee inspired to design a maximized life on my terms through God, health, wealth, and relationships - the spice of life. I got my start in leadership and communication as an intelligence analyst in the USAF for 8 years. I transferred those skills to start a real estate investment company. My relationship with my fiancé is the most valuable human connection and is #1 after God. Founder of Hip Hop Building Blockshttps://hiphopbuildingblocks.com/Born and raised in New York Eric Royo grew up in an era where Hip Hop thrived and was at the forefront of everything cool, expressive and revolutionary. He gravitated towards the music because it gave him the feeling of being free and open to express himself in whatever way he chose. The beats, the rhythms, the lyrics all called to Eric in a way that was magnetic and electric. At first just freestyling in the parks of NYC he eventually formed a group with other MC's, producing beats, writing raps, and performing shows. Hip Hop gave him a voice and an identity in a way nothing else had before. As he navigated his way through a complicated music industry he eventually began to find his footing running Hip Hop workshops with youth groups. This natural evolution transformed his career from Emcee to educator. Over the next 12 years Eric taught in elementary schools and continually  found ways to introduce Hip Hop culture to his students. Through this desire to spread the real and honest narrative of the culture, Hip Hop Building Blocks was formed. By teaching the origins, influences, and history of the culture it serves as a model for students to build and strengthen their own school community. Engaging students in the elements of Hip Hop (DJing, Emceeing, Graffiti Breakin' and Knowledge of self) encourages them to represent their identity, giving young people a voice and a platform for self-expression. With the core principles of peace, love, unity, and having fun, Hip Hop Building Blocks is a unique approach to social emotional learning that is experiential, engaging, and accessible to all. Links:IG: https://www.instagram.com/hiphopbuildingblocks/YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCSRgay4VTnPkXPkVcfDkIHg

We're 250 episodes in and counting people! Let's pop that bottle and go down memory lane as Erik Cabral shares the mic with fellow M.C Pablo Gonzales and dishes out some secret sauces behind the success of his brand, as well as some lessons he learned moving through transitions, accomplishments, and embracing failures. Here are some power takeaways from today's conversation: Lessons from death to the ego The secret sauce behind the success of the virtual PodMAX The mistake of going transactional too soon and what he could have done differently Finding power in the niche How to improve your public speaking skills Episode Highlights: [30:35] Lessons From PodMAX One of the secrets to any successful event is having not only amazing keynote speakers but also a dynamic emcee who can make everyone feel engaged and included. It went from radical generosity to radical vulnerability, holding space for everybody to start creating those vulnerable moments to allow for the deepest conversations. However, PodMAX fizzled out too soon as well, and one of the things he learned from Gary Vaynerchuk's words was that he asked for money too soon when he was still trying to build relationships. [42:30] Finding Power in the Niche Erik decided to pause all activities on PodMAX and focus on On Air Brands, mostly serving real estate investors making up almost 90% of their clients. They found a niche in giving confidence to real estate investors being real estate investors themselves. Erik also realized the importance of the 3 C's of character, competency, and connections when looking for the right people. [49:40] How to Improve Your Public Speaking Skills Practice not just being on stage, but also listening, storytelling, and getting to know yourself and your weaknesses. Get comfortable speaking to small groups as this will lead up to bigger stages over time. Emceeing an event is powerful, too. It's a good way to get your foot in the door, which a lot of people don't have access to. You get to the VIP status of all the keynote speakers and relationships are growing as a result of that access. MIchelle and Christy took the show on the road and headed to Nashville Tennessee to sponsor and record live at The Modern Love Event. We met brides, grooms, friends, parents and lots of amazing top wedding vendors in the Southern City that never sleeps. This episode is the ‘show' we did in the loft of The Cordelle, the host venue of the Modern Love Event. We chatted with attendees, answered questions, addressed concerns and dished out a lot of free advice. It's free, so don't blame us! It's like a live YAWA. We had so much fun. And we touched on SO MANY TOPICS. “Fun fact: Nashville is actually now the #1 US destination for weddings, and it's a really exciting time for this lively city.” - from the 100 Layer Cake Feature (link below) Click HERE to become a premium subscriber and unlock all of the amazingness:       Ad-free, full length episodes      The TBWPP Wedding Planning Resource Center with  Access to 6 mini courses of The Big Wedding Planning Master Class  Wedding Planning Templates and Tools Big Takeaways We talk budget and (once again) encourage a nice, organized wedding budget. If your partner is co-planning the wedding, then you can both draft out a list of priorities. Then you share and mesh that list into one and start to estimate dollar amounts for each element/vendor. Remember - you don't have to decide everything at once. Generally, you do save a little money with a BYO situation for the bar. It's great to hear how you are all feeling as you #planthatwedding. Getting to ask more questions and give more specific advice catered to the specific couple in front of us was a real kick. We heard about the expenses, the pros and cons you are weighing, the decisions you are struggling with… Guest lists! Heard of a butt artist? They exist. And they're super fun to have at a wedding, btw. Favors. We reiterate that we aren't huge fans of the throw-away favors. But food favors? Great! A mother-of-the-bride asks how she is supposed to get hair and makeup and we have never addressed this on the podcast before! Our advice is generally to be in touch with the chosen stylists and to communicate ahead of time. Send pics. Plan your own trial run if you're local. And if you have the means...find your own stylist and arrange something for earlier in the day. We have two brides on to interview - one is doing a glamping wedding and one is getting married at Reba McEntire's former estate. What fun!
