Send us a textSummer doesn't have to mean starting over in September. In this episode, I'm sharing my top strategies for enjoying your holiday, social events, and weekends—without gaining weight or losing the progress you've worked so hard for. I'll walk you through the exact habits I recommend to my clients during the summer, like setting 3 simple non-negotiables (for example: drinking 3 liters of water, getting 7,000 steps, and hitting 20–25g of protein at breakfast). You'll also hear how I personally handle things like alcohol, travel, and “off-track” meals—with flexibility, not guilt. Because summer should feel fun, not like a constant test of willpower. Here's what I cover:The mindset shift that helps you stop “starting over” every Monday or every SeptemberHow to use the “most days rule” to stay on track without obsessingWhat to do instead of tracking everything while on holidayHow one client planned her alcohol intake—without cutting it out completelyIf you're tired of the all-or-nothing mindset and want to stay consistent without giving up gelato or BBQs, this episode is for you.

Have you ever found yourself wondering about the incredible healing capabilities that exist within the natural world of plants? Like many people today, we often automatically reach for conventional over-the-counter medicines without pausing to consider the powerful natural alternatives. This week, I'm talking with trained herbalist Tasha Rose to explore the fascinating and time-honored tradition of plant medicine and herbal remedies. We take a deep dive into the remarkable ways herbs can provide support for both your immune and nervous systems, and discuss natural alternatives to common medications that you might find in your medicine cabinet. We'll explore how different forms of stress, from mild daily stress to chronic ongoing stress and short-term extreme stress, can be addressed using nourishing herbs, adaptogens, and nervines. Plus, Tasha shares her inspiring personal journey from being a curious plant enthusiast to becoming a professionally trained herbalist, and reveals how she helps families create their own natural medicine cabinets, stocked with effective herbal remedies that actually work. She'll introduce us to powerful herbs like Oat Straw for nervous system support, Tulsi (Holy Basil) for stress resilience, Ashwaganda for strength and balance, and gentle Chamomile for both nervous and digestive comfort. Paul Dickerson, Associate Pastor at Christ Memorial Church, shares his journey from attorney to ministry and explores how business principles can transform church leadership and growth. While Paul values liturgical practices and their powerful connection to historical faith, he challenges listeners to consider when rituals become roadblocks rather than pathways to Jesus. Through compelling stories – from a young man shamed for wearing a hat in church to a karate instructor finding his place in worship – we glimpse both the pitfalls and possibilities of creating truly hospitable Christian communities.• From practicing law to pursuing seminary, Paul's transition shows how God redirects careers toward ministry• Churches are experiencing more adult baptisms as new people discover faith through relational connections• The "Innovator's Dilemma" explains why good organizations fail by listening exclusively to existing customers• Value networks in churches can create systems that unintentionally exclude newcomers• Balancing 70% maintenance, 20% improvement, and 10% innovation helps churches stay healthy• Traditions are valuable but become problematic when they're not hospitable to outsiders• Pastoral ministry in 2050 will likely involve more distributed leadership beyond ordained roles• Relationships remain central to sharing the gospel—each church member has connections with people far from JesusSupport the showWatch Us On Youtube!

"Neuroception is what determines our response to everything in any moment of our life. It is not based on reality. It is based on one's perception.” – Dr. Aimie Have you ever wondered why it's so hard to stick to healthy habits, even when you know they'll help you feel better? Or why those you help can't seem resistant to their treatment plan? The truth is, it's not about willpower or motivation. Deep inside the body, there's an invisible security system constantly asking one question: "Am I safe right now, or am I in danger?" This system is called neuroception, and it's been quietly running your life without you knowing it. When this internal alarm system thinks you're in danger, even when you're perfectly safe, it can make your body reject the very things that would help you heal. Supplements feel overwhelming. Diet changes seem impossible. Exercise feels like too much. Your body isn't being difficult. In fact, it's actually trying to protect you! In this episode, Dr. Aimie breaks down neuroception and shows you exactly how to work with your nervous system instead of against it. You'll discover why some days you feel motivated and capable, while other days everything feels overwhelming, and most importantly, what you can do about it. You'll learn: The simple equation your body uses to decide if you're safe or in danger Why your body sometimes rejects healthy changes (Hint: it's not your fault!) The three different states your nervous system operates in How to tell which state you're in right now Simple body-based techniques to shift into a state of safety Why addressing oxidative stress is crucial for lasting change How to create an environment where healing actually feels possible And more! Whether you're someone struggling to maintain healthy habits or a practitioner working with people who seem "resistant" to treatment, this episode will completely change how you understand behavior, motivation, and the healing process. Are you finding it difficult to stick to new habits, no matter how badly you want to? New research from Health Psychology on habit forming provides new answers as to why this might be the case. From this research, there are four main reasons why people fail to stick to the habits they want to build. I'm going over all four, and providing tips and tricks to help you avoid the common pitfalls.
